Even though I've used Gentoo for over a decade, and Arch for long enough now
where I'm comfortable with it, I still recommend (if you can do so with another

machine, or outside your VM or whatever) having the install guide handy and
skimming through it while you install. Every once in awhile on gentoo I would
forget to install dhcpcd (which is part of the Gentoo handbook installation
process, obviously) and be screwed until I did so, not thinking about what I
had missed during the install.

So yeah, having the distro specific install guide handy on a text based distro
installation is always a plus. :)

Regards,
Nick
