It used to be that way for me too, but in recent times they'll actually send
me Statements of Work to review, and typically it will list the resource job
titles and their payment rates.
I did work independent once before. I pulled in a pay check of like $12-14k
one month after taxes, which was my highest. I think the rate was like $110/hr
directly to me, but it didn't last long.
I make *way, way* less than that now. Not even in the same universe,
unfortunately.
