Hey Benny!
BP> incorrect, vesa does not enforce aspect ratio
BP> i had vesa on 1600x1200 monitor with 8 penguins, i still have that picture
If you do the math 1600x1200 *IS* 4:3 aspect ratio. The above is evidence that vesa is 4:3. You might be thinking of uvesa which can do 16:9.
BP> vesa is what to do if others does not work
How about if it does work but doesn't give you bootup penguins? I'd much rather have the proper aspect ratio than bootup penguins, not to mention accellerated graphics, etc. Your suggestion is for situations where there is no choice.
BP> take that graphic card out and return it to the store as non
BP> working
It is part of the cpu. From the spec sheet
https://ark.intel.com/content/www/us/en/ark/products/134898/intel-core-i5-9400-processor-9m-cache-up-to-4-10-ghz.html I cut and paste; Processor Graphics ^ Intel® UHD Graphics 630
BP> and the loadlin.exe existed for os/2 if i remember aswell
No surprise there although I never did encounter it nevermind try it. The win95 one I saw in action on a cousin's computer way back in the mid to late 1990's.
BP> i am just happy now that msdos chromoium edge is open source now
It makes no difference here. The only place I've seen chromiun is on android based phones and tablets ... and usually the owner installs firefox instead. ;-)
Life is good,
Maurice
