Hello Richard...

-=> Quoting Richard Webb to Peter Coggon <=-

RW> NO prob there.  I seem to recall hearing about a system cnib had where
RW> members could dial the telephone and operate the hf station as well as
RW> control it via phone line and touch tones.

Yes...Right on.  I think the system still works for the CNIB people
and there was a ham "Rudy" who really used to get on there and run it
on 3755 most mornings.

RW> DUring the fall and winter months I hang out on the geratol net 3668
RW> khz. I get up early enough I'll have to look on 3753 for you.

Geratol net eh?   3668 okay will keep that in mind too for the fall
and winter.   I need Geratol these days!  Is that morning?

RW> IF you get on 20 meters I'm a regular net control for the nets that
RW> meet there. Even when I'm not ncs I'm often monitoring, so give a call
RW> on 14.3 and we'll move off and chew the rag.

Ok on 14.3  will take a listen and sign in....I take it this is
morning?     I used to listen to 14.332 and the YL net tune-up but
folks I know on packet with YL@WW just seem to be on the packet.
But I will be there during my morning..yawns...and wake up exercise.

I know you are with ARES, and I wonder if during your experience
if you happen to hear this CERT or REACT stuff on FRS ch1.  We were
supposed to have a drill in our area with REACT and FRS on ch1 ...
but I heard nothing.  Oh well I guess there isn't the interest
as in other areas.   My friend and I and another CB operator here
in this place run a  net like that for halloween patrols,  We use
Ham 2meters < 2 licenced hams>  < FRS ops on CH1> and our CB friend
on ch 1 and ch 9 to try keep things safe, after a few years of
Halloween nastys... I think it paid off, and now I know there is
a plan for our region but we don't seem to hear from them, which
is strange.?

Oh well...that was only a thought to close on...sorry it was
so long and confusing, but thats our area.
