:) I would say that the days of "everything is PHP" are over, as more
and more stuff is JavaScript, either on the client or via node.js...
And I don't like that :)

I'm hosting it on one of my vServers that I've rented.
It is running apache on Devuan Linux.

Just have a look at element.io for more information about hosting it.

As it is running on a VPS, I don't think that it's offline.
Your connection might be a little too slow for a timeout in the code
so that this message appears?!
