                           Chili con Cervesa

    1/2  lb            Ground round
    1/2  c             Onion -- minced
  6      oz            Tomato paste
 12      oz            Beer
 16      oz            Kidney beans -- undrained
  1      ts            Sugar
  1      ts            Garlic powder
  1      ts            Salt
    1/2  ts            Oregano
  1      ts            Black pepper

Combine beef and onions in a saucepan, over a moderate flame heat and
stir for 5-10 minutes, until beef has browned and onions have softened.
Add tomato paste and beer. Mix well. Add beans in their juice, chili
powder, sugar, and garlic powder. Mix well. Season to taste with salt
and black pepper. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, and simmer for 15 to
20 minutes, adding water as needed to adjust consistency. Serve hot.
