MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.06

     Title: Texas Pecan Pie

     Yield: 6 servings

     1 c  A-P flour
   1/4 ts Salt
   1/3 c  Shortening
     3 tb Water; cold

MMMMM--------------------------FILLING-------------------------------
 1 1/4 c  Pecans; chopped
     1 c  Light corn syrup; +1 tb
     3 lg Eggs
   1/2 c  Sugar; +1 tb
 1 1/2 ts Vanilla extract
     1 pn Salt

 In a bowl, combine the flour and salt; cut in shortening until
 crumbly. Gradually add cold water, tossing with a fork until a ball
 forms.

 Roll out dough to fit a 9" pie plate. Transfer crust to pie plate.
 Trim crust to 1/2" beyond edge of plate; flute edges. Sprinkle with
 pecans.

 In a small bowl, beat the corn syrup, eggs, sugar, vanilla, and
 salt until well blended. Pour over pecans.

 Bake @ 350 F/175 C until a knife inserted in the center comes out
 clean, 45-50 minutes. Cool on a wire rack.
