1. Introduction
Sonic fans have been raging for years now as they feel there has been no truly
good Sonic games since the 2D side- scrolling ones. The Sonic Adventure series
is loved by many, but the lightning fast Sonic-levels were too few and far
between, Sonic Unleashed was also a step in the right direction, with its fun
and fast-paced day levels, but the night levels brought it all down. Sonic
Heroes didn't feel like a real Sonic game, Sonic Next-Gen was a mistake, and
the previous Sonic games on the Wii just didn't play right, although the speed
was definitely there. Then there's the countless Sonic racing games, and other
spin-offs that don't quite pin it.
And now we finally have Sonic Colors, despite its childish-sounding title, is
actually the closest you will get to a true Sonic experience right now. Think
of the speedy levels of Sonic Adventure mixed with the day levels of Sonic
Unleashed, and just that. Nothing else. Sega incorporated some gimmicks again
("color" powers which Sonic can use to transform), but in this case, they
actually work and don't slow the game down. There are still some slow parts
here and there, but remember, even the first Sonic game had slow parts (lava
level, anyone?). Still, Sonic Colors is probably the best 3D Sonic game yet,
and it's on the Wii! (with Gamecube and classic controller support, what more
to ask for?)

You cannot Boost if the gauge is empty. While Boosting, Sonic can tackle
enemies that are in the way and grab nearby rings. You can also Boost while
airborne, but once you release the button, you cannot Boost again until you
land on the ground. If the Boost Gauge is empty, you will only dash forward for
a short distance.

Unleash Color Power
With the exception of the White Wisps, when you have a Wisp in your grasp,
shake the wiimote to unleash its power. The Color Power uses the Boost Gauge,
and the effect will end when the Gauge is depleted completely. While the Color
Power is in effect, collect a Wisp Capsule of the same kind to replenish the
Boost Gauge and extend the duration of the effect.

Yellow Wisps
Their powers allow Sonic to transform into the Yellow Drill to reach
underground and underwater spots quickly. Position Sonic where you want him to
drill and press the B Button if you want to drill quickly. Once Sonic is
underground or underwater, keep an eye on the Boost Gauge as you will lose a
life if the power runs out while underground. (can only be used in 2D
sections)

Blue Wisps
Their powers allow Sonic to become indestructible as the Blue Cube for a short
while. After activation, all Blue Blocks turn into Blue Rings, and vice versa.
When the Boost Gauge runs out, the Blue Blocks and Blue Rings revert to their
original shape. Note that Blue Rings can be collected, while Blue Blocks are
indestructible.
**
Orange Wisps
Their powers allow Sonic to become the Orange Rocket, which lets him shoot
straight up into the air. He will return to the ground slowly after he hits a
ceiling or the Boost Gauge runs out. The Orange Rocket can only be activated in
the 2D side-scrolling sections of the Acts.
**
Green Wisps
Green Wisps give Sonic the power to hover. Once Sonic transforms into the Green
Hover, use the control stick to move him horizontally. Press and hold the A
Button to hover and release to descend. Press the B Button near a series of
Rings to perform a Ring Dash. SOnic will revert to his normal form when the
Boost Gauge runs out.

3. Walkthrough
Tropical Resort - Act 1
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1: Shortly after the start, you can double jump to a rail above the path. At
the end of this rail is the first red medal.
2: (Drill Power Needed) Right after the first checkpoint, you will find a
yellow capsule. Drill into the ground below and go left to find this one.
3: After the first checkpoint, continue right until you can get on a rail above
the path. Either don't get on the rail or backtrack after you get off it to
find a red medal surrounded by rings and balloons below the rail.
4: (Drill Power Needed) Right after the third medal, and right underneath the
second checkpoint, use the drill power to dig into the ground below and drill
in circle motion right in the middle, hitting the mines on the way, to reveal a
hidden medal.
5: At the very end of the level, when you're grinding on three rails, stay on
the rightmost one and jump through the second rainbow ring to grab the last red
medal.
Tropical Resort - Act 2
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1: (Drill Power Needed) Shortly after the start, you will run into a yellow
capsule. Drill into the ground below to find a red medal in one of the
tunnels.
2: On top of three platforms above a patch of spikes, a bit after the start. In
plain view.
3: (Drill Power Needed) After the first checkpoint, you will follow a long path
until you reach a side- scrolling area with a "?" explaining the Double Jump.
Right after the second checkpoint, grab the yellow capsule and drill into the
ground below. Go to the bottom-left corner and go inside the pipe to warp to
the same area but with a circle of enemies. Drill in circle motion to destroy
them all, then do the same with the left circle, and with the next one. This
will reveal a hidden medal in the middle.
4: Right after the second checkpoint, go right to find a medal above some air
vents. In plain sight.
5: At the very end of the level, behind the end capsule you need to hit to
finish the level.
Tropical Resort - Act 3
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1: At the very beginning, don't go too fast and walk forward until you spot an
enemy on a platform on the right. Dash at it, then use the pulley ahead to get
on top of a platform. At the end is the first medal.
2: Right underneath the first checkpoint. Jump off the platform to find it.
3: (Drill Power Needed) After the second checkpoint, grab the yellow capsule
and drill into the ground below. One of the pipes at the bottom will warp you
to an area on the left with a medal.
4: (Drill Power Needed) In the same ground area as the third medal, to the
right of the pipe, there is an arrow made of rings at the bottom. Drill into
the crates there and follow the arrows until you find a medal at the very
bottom.
5: At the fourth checkpoint, go back left and hit the spring to reach the path
above. Follow it until you are prompted to press A to make some moves for
points. Then continue right and grab the cyan capsule. Ahead you will find a
crystal; use the laser to hit it and you will reach a higher area with the last
medal.
Tropical Resort - Act 4
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1: (Frenzy Power Needed) At the beginning, grab the yellow capsule and drill
down into the ground to reach an area underneath. Go left and grab the purple
capsule. Use Frenzy to smash the crates and get the first red medal.
2: (Frenzy Power Needed) Right after getting the first medal, continue right
using Frenzy and you will fall down a hole. Smash through the crates to find
another medal.
3: Shortly after the start, go right and home-attack the balloons. The last one
should send you flying into a red medal up in the air.
4: (Drill Power Needed) After getting the second medal, follow the path to find
another yellow capsule. Use it to drill down to an area underneath. Go right to
find the medal on some platforms.
5: At the very end, just before the end ring, get on the rail on the left. The
last medal is on top of it.
Tropical Resort - Act 5
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1: (Spike Power Needed) At the beginning, you will come to a cyan capsule and a
pink capsule. Take the pink one and use the spike power. Just keep on pushing
right to follow the path until you get to some metal crates with a medal
underneath. Break through and collect it.
2: Some time after the first checkpoint, you will come to an area with a cyan
capsule and some targets above. Use the laser to aim between the crates and you
will be taken to a higher ledge with the medal.
3: Right after the second medal, just go on ahead and below you will find a
hole with lots of balloons and a medal at the bottom.
4: (Spike Power Needed) Also at the same spot as the second medal, grab the
pink capsule, then go right to the place where you got the third medal. At the
top of the hole, use the spike power and jump towards the wall on the left.
Follow the wall up and right to go around to the other side. Jump to collect
the red medal on the metal crate.
5: (Spike Power Needed) Also at the same spot as number four. Make sure you get
the pink capsule near number two first, then go up right and use the spike
power before collecting the cyan capsule (you must collect the cyan capsule
after transforming into spike). Go up the wall where the third medal is, then
jump on the opposite wall and go to the location of the fourth medal. Wait
above the last metal crate until your power runs out and you revert back to
Sonic. You should fall on top of the crate next to the medal and still have the
laser power. Now use laser to aim at the blue light on the right and it will
take you behind the ending ring, where the last medal is.
Tropical Resort - Act 6
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1: Right at the beginning, between some moving platforms. Easy to grab.
2: A bit further ahead, under the path. You must use the moving platforms to
reach it. Just make sure you lower the platform enough so you can go back up
after.
3: Right after the second medal, in the middle of some moving platforms.
4: After the third medal, you will find a pink capsule. Turn into spike and go
down the wall to reach an area underneath. The fourth medal is on a ledge near
the middle.
5: At the very end, on the left of the end ring, up in the air. Use the moving
platforms to go up and jump (or double jump) to reach it.
Sweet Mountain - Act 1
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1: Near the beginning, after the part with the bomb, you will go up some
platforms with robots and a medal in plain view.
2: After the first checkpoint, grab the yellow capsule, then continue right.
After going through the short loop, dig into the ground with the drill (just
before the dash panel). Go down to find a square of metal crates with a red
medal in the center. Drill through it and collect your medal.
3: After getting the second medal, drill down to the area below. Continue right
and jump up some platforms until you grind over a short rail. Stop there and go
under it, back to the left. You'll get to a small area with a red medal.
4: After the second checkpoint, go to the end of the path where the bombs come
from and jump right, but not on the springs. Instead walk to the right to find
a medal.
5: After the fourth medal, go to the end of the second path with bombs, but
don't jump on the springs. Instead look behind for the last medal.
Sweet Mountain - Act 2
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1: (Hover Power Needed) After the first checkpoint, you will go under a wall,
then there will be a green capsule on a platform. Use the hover power to fly
up, then left and go down between the spikes to find a red medal at the
bottom.
2: A little further ahead from the first medal, you will go up to a dead-end,
then some robots will appear. After defeating them, a pulley comes down and you
will be launched across a few springs. Right after this part, stop there and go
back left. All the way to the far-left you'll find a medal hidden in
popcorn.
3: You can't really miss this one, it's directly on the path between the first
checkpoint and the end ring, on a platform over some falling blocks.
4: (Hover Power Needed) After getting the third medal, go back left where the
falling blocks start and on the left should be a breakable crate between two
metals crates. Break it with a stomp to reveal a switch. Press it, then use the
pulley on the left to reach a green capsulle. Fly upward to the right and ring
dash through the line of rings above to find a medal.
5: Right after getting the fourth medal, you will run across some falling
blocks. Don't jump on the pulley at the end; instead crouch/slide under it to
get in some rainbow rings behind and collect the medal.
Sweet Mountain - Act 3
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1: A bit after the first checkpoint, after the second orange capsule you come
across, you will jump between some walls with springs and then land on a
platform in the air. The second one has the medal.
2: After getting the second medal, go back left to the two walls with the
springs and stand in the middle where the line of rings is. Use the rocket
power to fly up and collect a medal above.
3: (Spikes Power Needed) Right at the second checkpoint, go back a bit left and
boost to the right where the path curve to jump up and collect the pink capsule
above. Use the spike power on the ceiling to the right of the checkpoint and
follow the wall where the orange capsule is. At the end a "!" will appear. Drop
down on the small platform below and it will start to move. Stay on the
platform (you can go under to avoid the walls) until the end and jump to
collect the medal in the loop.
4: (Spikes Power Needed) After collecting the third medal, go on top of the
loop wall and wait for the power to run out. Then jump on the enemies to the
right to reach a platform. Another one will come; jump on it to go right and
crouch down to pass below the wall. Then wall jump up to reach the medal.
5: Right after the third checkpoint on a normal run (if you don't use spikes to
collect medals 3&4), stick to the right side of the path to find a spring
hidden behind some barrels. On the rail above, switch to the rail on the left,
then break the barrels there to find the last medal.
Sweet Mountain - Act 4
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1: Near the beginning you'll run through some popcorn and hit a switch which
makes a cyan capsule appear. Grab it, then continue right to the next switch,
which move an orange beam. Stay there and use the laser to aim at the line of
rings on the wall. You will hit some crystals, then go right and crouch under
the wall to collect the first medal.
2: You'll need to do a second run for this one. Get the cyan capsule at the
beginning like you did before, but instead of using the laser power ahead, keep
it and follow the path like normally. After taking the pulley up, don't go
through the loop ahead. Instead stand at the second fence and use laser to hit
the crystal on the platform above. Then you'll hit more crystals and grab the
medal.
3: After getting the two medals at the start, you'll need to use some moving
platforms to go up. When you get on the large one with two switches, raise it
to the very top to find a medal above.
4: (Frenzy Power Needed) After getting the third medal, jump down and collect
the purple capsule. Use frenzy to smash through the metal crates below and
crush them all to reveal a red medal.
5: After medal 4, continue right and go up using the large platform. Stay on
the left side as much as possible -- at some point you will find an alcove in
the left wall where the medal is.
Sweet Mountain - Act 5
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1: Right at the very beginning, the moment the level starts, you will speed
across a boost panel; stop right after and go back south to find a red medal
you just dashed over.
2: Can't really miss that one; after the first checkpoint, it will be on your
way on a platform before a pulley with spikes and after some blue blocks.
3: Right after the second checkpoint, you will use lollipops to go up some
platforms. In the top-right corner is a medal on a platform; just use the
lollipop there to reach it.
4: (Cube Power Needed) Right after medal 3, continue left and jump to the third
lollipop. Right before you grab it, use the speed boost to dash and spin around
the lollipop. This will give you an extra boost to reach the next one above. Do
the same thing to reach an area up on the right. Go across the crates and then
you'll spot the medal beneath. Stand above it and use the cube power to grab
it.
5: (Spike Power Needed) Right after medal 4, get the pink capsule on the right,
then go up and wait for the cube power to end. Then use spike and jump up on
the ceiling above. Follow the wall to the right until you find the last red
medal between some crates.
Sweet Mountain - Act 6
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1: Shortly after the start, you will come to the first red medal in plain view,
between some yellow blocks. Simply use a dash boost to break through and
collect it.
2: Right after the first medal, continue right to find the second medal under a
platform with a robot. In plain sight, impossible to miss.
3: A bit further ahead after the 2nd medal, you will go across a rail and then
come to an area with blue and yellow blocks. Dash and stomp through the yellow
blocks to get the blue capsule at the bottom, then use the cube power to get
the medal in the right corner.
4: A bit after medal 3, you will find this one in the next area with yellow and
blue blocks. You can get this one several ways. The easiest, if you have spike
power, just keep the capsule you got earlier and use it here to reach the
medal. Or use the cube power to get to the top (hardest). Or just stand on the
highest yellow block on the right and dash boost through the air to the
left.
5: Right after getting the fourth medal, get out of the cube area and right at
the top of the wall where the robots were should be a rail above, going to the
left. Jump on it to reach another medal.
Starlight Carnival - Act 1
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1: Right after the first checkpoint, get the blue capsule, then break the
blocks below you and collect the rings on the right. Use the cube again to
break the blocks above and double jump to grab the medal.
2: (Spike Power Needed) Right after the first checkpoint also, get the blue
capsule, but instead of going down, go up on the platform there and use the
cube to solidify the rings. Climb up to the very top where you should find a 1
Life. Double jump over the pit to the right, then use a boost and jump across
the other pit to the right. Get the pink capsule, then stomp through the blocks
below and go down. Use spike power on the left to go collect the medal in the
corner.
3: After the second checkpoint, when you are on the speedway chased down by
small robots that you need to take down (after falling down), stick to the
right side until you collect a medal on the way.
4: Right after the third checkpoint, get the blue capsule, then use it to get
across the blocks blocking your path and double jump off to the right on some
blocks in the air. Climb up some more to spot a red medal above on the left.
Jump there and collect all the blue rings apart from the one underneath the
medal. Then use cube again and double jump to the block under the medal to
collect it (or go the long way around).
5: After the fourth checkpoint, you will go under some pressing devices. After
the second one, grab the blue capsule and use it when you spot some blue cubes
ahead to create blocks. Jump on the spring above them to get on top of the
pressing device, then go right and use the next cube power to get to the spring
below. Then go right again once on the device to collect a hidden medal.
Starlight Carnival - Act 2
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
(Spike Power Needed for All)
1: At the start, take the blue capsule and use cube power to go down. Then use
cube again to smash the crates and collect the pink capsule. Use spike power to
go right into the small passageway and continue up the wall to find the first
medal.
2: After collecting the first medal, continue all the way up to the top of the
room and jump over the gap to the left. In the top-left corner is a red medal.
Jump on the explosive crates and grab the other pink capsule, then use spike
power again and cling to the left wall, then go up and follow the wall to the
ceiling to get the second red medal.
3: After getting medal 2, go back right and down the wall you came up from.
Open the door on the right by pressing the switch on the left, then quickly go
through and follow the walls to a red medal behind some explosive crates at the
top.
4: After getting medal 3, go down to the very bottom of this area and you
should find a medal in the middle. To grab it, stand at the bottom of the wall
and double jump. Jump once to collect it, then jump again to cling back to the
opposite wall.
5: After getting medal 4, get out of there and go back up to the normal path at
the very top of the area. You should spot the last medal in the top-right
corner. Just get to it using spike power and the right wall.
Starlight Carnival - Act 3
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1: Right at the beginning when you step onto the bouncing pad, bounce then
home-attack the pulley to the left to go up one story higher. Go right on the
other pad and stomp on it to get up on the higher platform above. Collect the
medal, then go down on the right to continue.
2: You can get this one after the first medal, just go under the wall, then
down and go back left to collect it by bouncing on the pad or from the start,
just bounce up to get it.
3: After medals 1&2, the bounce pad will go up to a loop. Bounce to get into
the loop and run across it to collect a medal in the center.
4: Sometime after the first checkpoint, you will spot the second medal above a
platform over you. Simply stomp on the bounce pad to go up there and collect
it.
5: Right after medal 4, you will go up and spot a medal under an electric
enemy. Stomp-bounce at the right time so you just collect the medal without
touching the enemy. Right timing does it.
Starlight Carnival - Act 4
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1: Right at the start, you can't really miss this very obvious medal under the
second bolt jolting enemy.
2: Also near the start, when you get to the wall at the end of the path, jump
down where the line of rings is. Collect the medal, then go back up using the
pulley.
3: Right after the second medal, go up and right, then use the pulleys to go up
again and collect the medal on the left at the top, while avoiding the bolts.
4: (Frenzy Power Needed) After the first checkpoint, collect the purple
capsule, then use frenzy power to eat up the crates and enemies on your way.
Jump on the platforms above the ground and keep on going right to find the
medal in some crates.
5: (Frenzy Power Needed) After getting the fourth medal, continue right while
in frenzy form and keep on eating away on the top path to get the medal at the
very end (this one is hard to get; you need to jump before the gap or frenzy
will just fall -- repeat it over until you know when to jump exactly).
Starlight Carnival - Act 5
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1: At the beginning, you will race on a speedway and avoid enemy lasers, then
fall down. While falling down, pass through the second ring of spikes to
collect the medal in the middle.
2: (Spike Power Needed) After the first checkpoint (after falling down), ram
through the enemies ahead, then double jump to get the pink capsule on the
crates above the path. Use spike power and roll along the crates to the left,
then go up to the top of the crates and continue right. You should spot the
medal between some crates on the right.
3: (Hover Power Needed) After the second checkpoint, go up after grabbing the
green capsule and fly up using hover to reach the second green capsule. Then
fly to the left and collect the medal.
4: (Spike Power Needed) After taking down the zip line, continue right to find
a pink capsule. Use spike power and jump on the crates above. Then follow the
path to the left all the way to find a medal.
5: (Hover Power Needed) After the third checkpoint, when you get to the tower
at the end, climb to the top, then go left and defeat the three robots. Grab
the green capsule, then go back right and a line of rings should have appeared
around the top of the tower. Use hover to dash through it to collect a
medal.
Starlight Carnival - Act 6
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
(Hover Power Needed for All)
1: Get the green capsule, then go right and up. On the right side, drop down,
then use hover and go around the outside of the area and go underneath it. Jump
over the spinning spike balls, and at the very left you'll find the first
medal.
2: Get another green capsule and go left this time. Use hover to fly left and
then go up around all the spikes, collecting green capsules on the way to stay
in hover form. Keep going up to the top to find the second red medal.
3: Fly to the top of the level. At some point near the very top there will be a
ceiling of crates with spikes and a switch on the right. Fly to it and press it
to make a medal appear near the spike ceiling.
4: After getting the third medal, fly over to be above the crates with the
sikes and go left. Drop down where the lines of rings are until you reach the
bottom and double jump to the right to get a medal.
5: After getting the fourth medal, go right and press the switch on the crate
(left side) to make a line of rings appear. Use hover and dash through it to
get the last medal.
Planet Wisp - Act 1
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1: From the start, run across the speedway after the boost pads and stay on the
left to grab the white wisps to fill the boost bar. Right after the loop, hold
down the boost button to gain more speed. When you hit the boost ramp, you will
go flying into the rings above. Hit the spring at the end, then you will run
sideways. Avoid the spikes and grab the medal on the right.
2: After taking the first medal and going across the rails, you will come to an
area with an orange capsule ahead. Use the rocket right where you get the
capsule to fly up, then steer a bit to te right to collect the second medal as
you fall down.
3: After the first checkpoint (where you are asked to press the jump button to
perform a series of moves), you will come to an area with a pink capsule. Use
spike power to get across to the right side of the area. There should be two
moving platforms with robots if you come from the bottom path, or a slope with
a white capsule if you come from above (in this case, stop after the slope and
go back left). Right underneath this slope is a small passgeway. You can slide
under it with the crouch button. The third medal is right there beyond the
passageway.
4: After the second checkpoint, you will run across a narrow path with robots
where you need to move left and right to stay on the path. After the first
section, stay on the left and hold down the boost button to gain speed while
you run over the boost ramp. You will grab the fourth medal in the air.
5: After the third checkpoint, use the cannon to go right and jump on the
platforms to go and collect the orange capsule to the right. Use the rocket on
the left where you should see a line of rings going up. At the top, get the
pink capsule and use the spike power. Follow the wall all the way to another
pink capsule and keep going up. You should find the last medal up the wall.
Double jump to grab it.
Planet Wisp - Act 2
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1: I don't think it's possible to miss this one; shortly after the start you
will need to stomp through some metal crates and hit a spring, which will
bounce you up into the medal.
2: After the first medal, you will take a pulley up and follow the path to an
area with two orange enemies throwing spike balls. Simply double jump to the
center, then once again to the right side where the medal lies in plain
view.
3: Another easy one. After the second medal, you will go through a loop, then
go up some platforms and break through crates. On the right, double jump to the
spike platforms (in-between) and then go up to get the medal on the left
platform.
4: (Frenzy Power Needed) Right after the first checkpoint, get the purple
capsule, then use frenzy and eat up all the crates on the right. The fourth
medal is hidden somewhere in there.
5: After you go up using the moving stairways, stomp through the crates on the
right, then you will dash upwards through some rainbow rings. Instead of
hitting the spring above, just let yourself fall back down to the left, where
the last medal is.
Planet Wisp - Act 3
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1: As you start, you will run on a narrow path with robots shooting lasers at
you. To get the first medal you must remain on this path to the end. To do so
easily, just stay on the middle path to avoid the lasers and double jump over
all the gaps. When you reach the end you will run into the medal in the air.
2: When you start on the narrow path at the beginning, as soon as you can go
left, do so and use boost to run and jump across the gap into a cyan capsule.
After the narrow path part, you should see a crystal on the way. Use laser
power on it to collect the second medal.
3: After the first checkpoint, go all the way to the right, at the very end of
the path with blue blocks. Defeat the robots here and a medal will appear.
4: After the first checkpoint, get the blue capsule, then go right and break
through the crates using cube power to go down. Go left and break through the
blue blocks, then collect the medal behind.
5: At the very end of the level, take the last blue capsule on your path, then
use cube to break the crates and jump on the platforms to go right. Double jump
to the higher crate and then on the blue blocks to reach the last medal left of
the end ring.
Planet Wisp - Act 4
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1: Shortly after the start, you will be launched into the air doing some moves,
then run across a path with falling platforms. Hold down the boost button while
on this path so when you hit the dash panel, you will fly higher through some
rings. The medal is right after the checkpoint.
2: Right after the second checkpoint, you will come to some moving platforms
with robots that just spin in circle like a wheel. On one of the platforms is a
1 Life and on another is the medal.
3: When you are on the moving platforms from medal 2, also grab the cyan
capsule on one of the platforms. Then go up with the platform on the right and
use laser power on the crystal up there. Go left on the path above to find the
third medal.
4: After getting medal 3, go back right and use the rocket power to be launched
in the air. While you fall down, stick to the right to fall on top of a rail.
The rail will take you to a cannon. Fire upwards to collect the fourth medal
above.
5: After getting medal 4, continue to the right along the next rail and slide
under the wall. Use the pulley to get to the end ring. On your way you will
collect the last medal.
Planet Wisp - Act 5
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1: At the start, go right and smash through the yellow blocks, then drop down
into the gap on the right. At the very bottom, get the orange capsule, then use
the rocket to fly all the way up. As you fall down, fall in-between the spikes
to collect the first medal under the spikes.
2: Right after getting the first medal, go right and double jump to collect the
1 Life in the air. You will then fall directly onto the second medal below.
3: After the second medal and right before the first checkpoint, jump on the
yellow blocks, then drop down just behind the robot where the line of rings is.
Get the orange capsule below, then use the rocket there to go up. Fall to the
left between the spikes and around them to collect the medal.
4: (Frenzy Power Needed) After the first checkpoint, grab the purple capsule,
then go right and down where the yellow blocks are. Use frenzy to smash through
all of them to find the medal on the right.
5: A bit before the end, you will climb up some yellow blocks with robots
shooting them. Defeat the robots first, then jump up the blocks and collect the
medal in the top-left corner.
Planet Wisp - Act 6
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1: At the beginning, you will go through some rails, then fall down (don't land
on the dash panel ahead). While falling down, grab the medal on the right, then
fall on the rail to continue.
2: After the first checkpoint, continue until you get to moving platforms
spinning in circle motion. Stand on one and go down. In the middle is the
second medal.
3: After the second medal and after you are launched in the air and asked to
press the jump button to perform moves, you will get to an area with a pink
capsule. Turn into spikes and cling to the wall above. Follow it to the left
and up, then work your way between the crates to get to the top where you'll
find the third medal.
4: After the second checkpoint, when you are climbing up to the top of the
structure, after climbing the first set of platforms you should spot a green
capsule under a platform on the left. Get it, then continue climbing and keep
the power in your possession. When you get half-way to the top, after grabbing
a pulley, the camera will pull back to give you a larger view. Use the hover
power here to hit the button on the ceiling above. A medal will appear on the
right; fly to it.
5: Right after getting the fourth medal, keep on flying to the right side of
the area even if the camera doesn't follow; eventually you will reach a wall
when your hover power runs out; try to fall where the line of rings is. You
should land on a small plaftorm. Get the pink capsule on the left, then use
spikes on the wall and go all the way up to some metal crates. Wait for the
power to run out so you are back to your normal form and jump to the crates to
the left to find the last medal in the middle.
Aquarium Park - Act 1
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1: When you start, use the boost to get higher into the rings above so you can
take another path leading directly to the medal OR if you take the normal path,
when you get inside the first building, defeat the robots, use the springs to
go up, then defeat more robots and use the next set of springs, which will send
you up a tall blue aquarium. From the top, double jump backwards (south) into a
rainbow ring with the medal right above.
2: After the first checkpoint, you will get to a large pool you can swim down
into. At the end, dive down along the rock wall to find a yellow capsule and to
the right a mine surrounded by rings. To the right is the second medal next to
a wall.
3: After getting the second medal, continue swimming right and then go down
using the drill power. Check the right wall to find a pipe. Get into it, then
swim up to the pipe in the top-right corner of the wall in the new room which
will lead you to the third medal.
4: After the first checkpoint, if you take the path above the water instead of
diving down into the pool, you will eventually come to a large platform moving
down, with crystals scattered about. Make sure you have picked a cyan capsule
before and wait for the platform to reach the bottom. Defeat all the robots,
then press the switch on the left wall and go stand on the crate in the middle.
Face right and aim the laser between the crates so you hit the crystal on the
right. It will send you flying into a medal.
5: After the third checkpoint, you'll go down a path, then take a pulley up and
cross a narrow passage that goes up with spikes on the ceiling. Use boost to
cross, then you will fall into the water. Swim down, then left and go back up
to find a passageway with a medal above. If you jump out of the water, you
should jump high enough to grab the medal, with a double jump to reach it as
you emerge out of the water.
Aquarium Park - Act 2
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1: At the beginning, grab the first blue capsule you come across, then you
should spot the first red medal under some blue blocks. Use cube above to fall
below and get the first medal.
2: Right after getting the first medal, continue left to find the second one on
some blue blocks.
3: On the spinning platforms after the first checkpoint. Too obvious to
miss...
4: Also on a spinning platform right before the end ring. Can't miss...
5: After the first checkpoint, grab the first blue capsule you come across,
then jump on the small platform to the right and use cube to change the rings
into blue blocks. Cross the middle row of blocks and get on the small platform
on the other side. Use cube again and jump on the top blocks. Then double jump
to get into a ring above to go higher. Go right and grab the other blue
capsule. Use cube and boost across the blocks to the right, then jump and use
cube again to crush the metal crates. Continue right and use cube to make more
blue blocks to cross. You have to be really quick for this one. Keep on jumping
from block to block to reach the last red medal at the end.
Aquarium Park - Act 3
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1: At the start, go down into the water all the way to the very bottom. Grab an
air bubble, then continue right to find three orange capsules. Take the last
one and use rocket power towards the line of rings. You should be launched way
up into the air, outside the water. As you fall down, avoid the spike balls and
navigate your way down to the red medal below some spikes.
2: After getting the first medal, go back into the water below and dive down to
the bottom. Go right and take the pulley up at the end. Grab an air bubble,
then take the next pulley up and go right. Dive down where the air currents are
all the way to the very bottom again. Get the orange capsule in the middle and
use it to be launched all the way up into the air above the water. As you fall
down, position yourself between the spikes to fall into a red medal.
3: After getting the second medal, you will fall back down on platforms
underneath the spikes. Drop down from those to fall on other platforms below.
Go into the path to the right (should be under the rail) and then dive down
into the water. Get the orange capsule above the pipe at the bottom and use
rocket to fly up into a medal between some more spike balls.
4: After getting the third medal, you'll fall down on a rail with a loop. After
the next rail, don't go forward to the right, instead go back left into the
water under the rail. Grab the orange capsule there, then go right and line
yourself up with the line of rings. Use rocket to be launched up and then fall
down between the spikes to collect another medal.
5: (Frenzy Power Needed) After the fourth medal, go past the first checkpoint
and grab the purple capsule. Use frenzy while the platform goes down and eat
away the metal crates. Get other capsules to remain in frenzy mode and stay
near the middle; there will be a red medal surrounded by some crates.
Aquarium Park - Act 4
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1: Just as you start, instead of jumping on the spring in front of you, go left
into the water and cross to the other side. The first red medal is on the left
above the water.
2: After the first checkpoint, stay at the surface and cross three pools of
water. You'll come to a wall you can slide under, or go up using a pole. Use
the pole to go up and grab the cyan capsule. Then stand on the platform to the
right and use laser power. Aim the laser on the right crates so you hit the
crate on the left and bounce back to the other side. Grab the next cyan
capsule, then aim the laser on the right crates so you hit the left crate at
the bottom and move to the next side. Grab the other cyan capsule and aim the
laser at the top crate so you bounce back on the crates on the other side. You
will collect the medal as you do so. (this one is pretty hard to describe, but
make sure the laser always hits another crate to bounce)
3: After the 2nd medal, go up the slope to the right to find the second
checkpoint. To the left of the checkpoint is a pool of water; dive in and swim
all the way to the left to find the third medal.
4: After getting the third medal, grab the yellow capsule nearby and swim back
to the right using drill. At the end, enter the pipe to reach another area.
Stomp the crates on the right to go down into more water and get the yellow
capsule below. Use drill and go right until you find another capsule. Get it,
then swim down to find another pipe. Go in to move left to another area with
the fourth medal.
5: After getting the fourth medal, continue through the pipe to the left, then
keep on following the path (on land) until you reach a little fountain. Hit it
to go up, then destroy the robots to the right and go down. Make sure you
picked up a cyan capsule on the way there. You should see the red medal between
some crates on the left. Aim the laser power at the crates to destroy them and
get the medal.
Aquarium Park - Act 5
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1: A bit after you start, the first medal is in plain view above some platforms
and explosive crates.
2: Shortly after the first medal, jump on the explosive crates to reach a
platform with the second medal. Push the metal crate in the way with a charged
up boost to collect it.
3: After the first checkpoint, you will see this one on your way under some
explosive crates. Stomp the bounce pad to jump higher and reach it.
4: Right after the third one, on top of more explosive crates. Stomp and bounce
up to get it.
5: A bit before the end ring, behind some explosive crates as you go up. Touch
the crates so they explode, then get out of the way and go back right to
collect it after the explosion.
Aquarium Park - Act 6
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
(*note: the medals in this level are not in the same order as in the game)
1: At the beginning, dive into the water and go right, grabbing air bubbles on
the way. Go up at some point to find circles of rings with mines and one of
them has a yellow capsule. Use the drill to go right and go into one of the
pipes. Continue right, then go up at the end. Go down when the path opens up to
the right and get into the pipe on the right. Go down again after that, then
all the way left to find the medal.
2: After the second checkpoint, grab the green capsule and use hover to go up.
Dash through the line of rings to go up faster as you'll need to save as much
time as possible. Also dash through the small line in front of you, but not
through the long spiraling one after the robots. Instead, fly up past the
robots, into the ceiling and above the roof. As soon as the hover power runs
out, hold down the boost button to dash forward through the air and land on a
platform with a pulley. Go up, then jump on the platforms to the left and get
the green capsule. Jump from platform to platform to the left, while avoiding
the enemies. Then use hover power to fly left to a red medal.
3: After the hover part, you will fall down through a building, then get into
the opening in the wall and hit the dash panel to grab a zipline leading into
the red medal.
4: After the hover part, while you are falling down into the building, instead
of going into the opening in the wall to get the medal on the zipline, fall to
the very bottom and land on the blue floor. Then double jump back across the
pit behind you to hit a dash panel. It will send you right into the medal.
5: At the very end of the level, on the right of the end ring is a passage with
eels coming out. The last red medal is right there between the eels.
Asteroid Coaster - Act 1
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1: After the first checkpoint, you will use frenzy to smash through blue test
tubes. When you get to the end of the path, instead of jumping on the springs
in front of you, smash the tubes in the right corner to reveal another spring.
Follow the path there and boost through the slope ahead to run upwards high
enough to grab the red medal above.
2: Right before the second checkpoint, you will ride a coaster, then use air
vents to go up. Use all the air vents to go to the very top of the area where
you will find the second checkpoint (there is another one at the bottom, but
you need to be on the top path). Follow the path from there and double jump
across the gaps until you reach some dash panels. Boost as you run over it to
reach a red medal ahead.
3: After the second medal, you will fly up in the air where you must hit
asteroids. After hitting the first one, wait before hitting the next one so you
can target a different one on the right. This will take you to another path
around a meteor. Run along it to collect the third medal.
4: After the third checkpoint, you will come to a room where the gravity is
reversed. You should spot the red medal on the right near the ceiling. Jump on
the platform left of it and wait for it to be almost at the top of the screen,
then jump right to grab the medal before you fall down.
5: At the very end of the level, when you get to the end ring, don't go through
it, instead run down the meteor to fall on a walkway around it. Grab a purple
capsule and use frenzy to crush the crates on the right and reveal a spring.
Hit it, then home-attack the pulley in the air to go down a zipline. Hit the
next zipline to collect the last red medal.
Asteroid Coaster - Act 2
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1: A bit after the start, after the first part where you jump on platforms with
blue/red blocks coming out of the wall to crush you, you should spot a yellow
platform under another platform. Jump to that one and target the spring to the
right so you bounce into more springs and collect the first red medal.
2: Shortly after the first medal, you will go up some disappearing yellow
platforms, then hit a dash panel. Right after that, drop down in the gap ahead
to spot a red medal at the bottom. Stand on the yellow platforms to go down and
grab the medal, then quickly climb back up.
3: After the second checkpoint, you will fly across some meteors and hit
meteorites until you reach a path where you must use frenzy power to smash
through test tubes. At the end of this path, hit the spring to go up and grab
the red medal right above in the air.
4: After the third checkpoint, you will come to a room where the gravity is
reversed. Go right to a platform that goes down, then you'll need to go down
and wait for the blue/red blocks to retreat into the wall. Instead of going
right (the normal path), go left to find some yellow platforms. Climb up to
find a medal.
5: After the fourth checkpoint (after medal 4), hit the spring to go down, then
go right and jump on the two red blocks coming out of the wall. Then double
jump to the right to collect the last medal.
Asteroid Coaster - Act 3
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1: The first red medal you will be able to get is while you are on the bouncing
pad, simply stomp it to jump higher and grab the medal above the red/blue
block.
2: When you get to the end of the path with the bouncing pad, get the pink
capsule and use spike power to follow the ceiling into an alcove with robots, a
1UP and a red medal.
3: Once you have spike power, quickly return to the entrance to get the first
red medal you probably saw when the level started, over some spikes in the path
going down.
4: Also after getting spike power, return to the end ring where you can see
blue blocks and get the blue capsule (or get it first before the pink one so
you will keep it when the power runs out). Use cube power to crush the blocks
in the left corner and reveal a red medal.
5: After you have crushed the blue blocks with cube, grab another pink capsule
in this same area and use spike power to cling to the ceiling above the end
ring. Go behind it on the left to find a red medal. (or go all the way back to
the entrance with spikes and go around to find yourself behind the end ring)
Asteroid Coaster - Act 4
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1-5: Nothing to say here really, the red medals are all on the way as you move
left and right.
Asteroid Coaster - Act 5
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1: Follow the path from the start until you get a cyan capsule. Once you have
it, go back left to where you probably spotted a red medal earlier. Stand on
top of the black crates and use laser to aim on the wall above so you bounce
back onto the platform where the red medal is.
2: Get the purple capsule below the first red medal and go right. Drop down on
the bottom floor and use frenzy to eat up the blocks in the left corner and
reveal a red medal.
3: After going up to the first checkpoint by using laser power, get the other
cyan capsule here and aim through the passageway going up into the ceiling to
collect a red medal at the top.
4: After the first checkpoint, instead of going down, go right and place the
beam so you can jump and follow the path at the top of the area. In the corner
at the right of the second beam is a red medal.
5: After the fourth medal, go down and grab the cyan capsule. Then go right and
stand next to the black crates with a robot on top. Aim the laser diagonally to
the top-right corner to collect a medal.
Asteroid Coaster - Act 6
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1: When you are on the coaster at the beginning, you will get to a part with
meteorites. As soon as you hit the first one, quickly hold left on the control
stick to target a different meteorite on the left (instead of targetting the
one you usually would). It will lead you to a different coaster. While riding
this one, jump through the rainbow rings when it goes down to collect the first
red medal.
2: After the first checkpoint, you will come to a room full of water. In the
top-right corner you should spot the red medal. Simply swim to it and go up to
grab it.
3: After the second medal, you will go through some more water and come across
purple capsules. After the second one, go into the water tunnel ahead and use
frenzy. Crush the metal crates near the end to find a red medal. Then you'll
fall down to the second checkpoint.
4: After the second checkpoint, grab a purple capsule and make it to the end of
the path. Keep the capsule for now. At the end, there are four test tubes in
the middle with snake enemies in front and a red medal stuck between. Use
frenzy and break the tubes to get the medal.
5: Shortly after the fourth medal, you will jump through some springs, then
cross the top path using frenzy, and then fall down. While you are falling
down, stick to the left to collect the last medal.
Now that you have all 180 red medals, go beat all the stages from the Sonic
Simulator to unlock Super Sonic!
4. Bosses
Tropical Resort Boss
This boss is super easy. All you need to do is jump on the moving platforms to
get closer to the boss' face, then home-attack it. Three times will do the
trick. You can pick up white capsules to get a boost so you can cycle around
the area and collect rings, and also hurt its hand (otherwise it will harm you;
but it's really easy to avoid). The boss will also send spinning discs at you,
but they are also easy to avoid.
Sweet Mountain Boss
Another easy boss (actually, they all are). For this one you will start on a
ship; home-attack the bombs to get to the back and hit the lever. Then the ship
will land and you will be in a different area. The boss will come out to attack
you with balloons. Attack them to get rid of them and hit the boss as soon as
you get the opportunity to. Then repeat the process; the boss will send more
balloons, but everything else is the same. You can also use the drill to dig
underground and hit the boss from below. Three hits and he's gone.
Starlight Carnival Boss
In this stage you will chase down a spaceship. First, avoid the gunfire by
moving left or right depending on where it's aiming. Press forward to move
closer to the ship until you can target the back. Home-attacks the cannons by
rapidly pressing A until you destroy one. The ship will then drop some rings
and the camera view will change to the side. Same thing; avoid the gunfire, get
closer and attack. You will need to repeat this process about six times (didn't
count, but it goes fast if you use the boost to catch up to the ship).
Planet Wisp Boss
This is the same boss as the Tropical Resort one. This time, it will shoot
lasers and cups will be circling in the middle around its face. Either get
white capsules and boost around to attack its face or get pink capsules and use
the spike power to get on the cups, then jump to its face. As for the other
boss, all the attacks are easy to avoid; the laser won't reach you usually
because of the cups, and its hands are also easy to avoid. Attack it three
times to defeat it. If you use spikes, it will go down faster.
Aquarium Park Boss
Again, same boss as the one from Sweet Mountain, but underwater. You will start
on the ship; swim to the right while avoiding the missiles and don't forget to
get some air bubbles. At the end, make sure a missile is following you and get
behind the glass so the missile breaks it, then hit the switch. The ship will
land and the boss will come out. Either swim above and then use stomp to hurt
it, or use the drill to catch up to it (hold down the boost button to swim
faster). Then repeat the process for a total of three times.
Asteroid Coaster Boss
Same boss as for Starlight Carnival, but longer. I think I had to hit it about
8 times. First, avoid the gunfire as usual, but this time you'll need to avoid
two. Get closer to the ship by pressing forward, then hit one of the cannons at
the back. When the view switches, avoid the meteorites by slowing down or
speeding up, then avoid the gunfires again until the ship is back in front of
you. Keep avoiding the stuff it drops and pick up more rings or white capsules.
Use the boost when you can to catch up to it and hit it. When the ship is on
the side, you can see where the cannons are about to aim, so you can avoid
them. The only thing that is hard about this fight is that you can't pick back
up your rings if you get hit. Otherwise it's rather easy.
Terminal Velocity Boss
The final boss will use the wisps to attack you. Rapidly move left or right to
avoid cube, and double jump to avoid laser and spikes. Then run up to it until
you can target its claws and home-attack it a few times to get up to the
cockpit. Attack Eggman for a first hit. Eventually, he will start using two
powers at the same time, so be extra careful to avoid the obstacles. The view
will also switch to the back sometimes, but the process remains the same. Keep
on getting close to attack him until you get your laser power back. Everytime
you attack him, you will get one wisp back. Keep on doing so until you get all
of them back. The obstacles will gradually become harder to avoid, but with a
bit of practice, it's pretty easy. Once you have recovered all the wisps, you
will be able to unleash a mega attack to end the fight.
