01. INTRODUCTION {intro}

Hmm... it's been a while since I've written anything, last thing I did I think
was for HTS5... so another PSP Bleach game! This game is very different from
the HTS series, it's a side-scrolling action game, not a fighting game.
Personally I prefer the HTS games, but that's just personal preference.
As usual, this guide has lots of spoilers, so please don't complain to me if
you get spoiled. But if you watch/read Bleach, there's nothing to spoil you.
Actually, I assume you watch/read Bleach, as I may use terms that are in the
anime/manga.
Also, this game has more Japanese than the HTS games, so the I have tried to
translate the menus in the section below. But it's hard to translate when you
understand the language, you assume things that other people might not
understand. If there is something you don't understand, then please email me:

Lastly, this guide contains Japanese characters, to view these characters you
may need to change your browser's settings, GameFAQs doesn't do it for you.

There are also some kanji that don't exist in 'Japanese', and are taken from
Chinese, so I can't type them here. I just a similar looking kanji, even if the
meaning is totally different ^^

1. First of all, choose a slot to place a piece in

read it. You should read this, it won't take long, and could save you from not
understanding something further on.
Basic Controls:
Left/Right - Move

Burning Attacks
The BP gauge is the gauge that goes around your character's face in the top \
left corner. Once that's full, you can use your burning attack. There are two
types:
> One off attack: This a massive attack that uses the entire gauge in one go
> Power up type: This powers up your character for a limited time. During
this time, enemy damage is reduced, and you have infinite SP
Items
When you defeat an enemy, they will occasionally drop items:
> First Aid Box - these heal you
> SP orbs - recover SP
> BP orbs - fills your BP gauge
> Accessory Bag - you get an accessory
> Money - increases the amount of money held
> Music Disc - adds a track to your collection
Slash Combos
String together your hits on enemies to build up a slash combo. Build up combo,
and you get a money bonus. After 50 hits, the enemies move in slow motions.
Overkill
If you keep hitting an enemy that is already dead, you get an 'overkill'. This
may make the enemy drop more items, and it also allows you to continue your
Slash combo.
Boss Battle Rankings
After every boss battle, you will be ranked from D to S. You get a bonus
depending on how well you performed. The ranks is based on:
1. Time taken
2. Largest slash combo
3. Damage received
Status Effects
When you are hit by an enemy's attack, you may receive a bad status effect.
They disappear after a while, or you can use an item to dispel it. They are:
> Burnt: you gradually take damage
> Frozen: you can't move, keep pressing buttons to free yourself
> Paralysed: you can't move, keep pressing buttons to free yourself
> Poisoned: you gradually take damage
Status Explanations:
> Lv: your current level
> Exp: your current amount of experience
> Next: amount of experience required for next level up
> HP: your health
> SP: energy required to perform special techniques
> Attack: this effects how much damage your regular attacks deal
> Defence: this effects how much damage enemy regular attacks deal
> Reiatsu: this effects how much damage your special attacks deal

05. SOUL BOARD + SOUL PIECE SYSTEM {souls}
********************************************************************************
Soul pieces are the 'partner' and 'power up' system in this game. Refer to the
menu translation section of exactly how to use it, I typed it over there
instead of here.
When you get a Soul Piece, you can place on the player character's board, and
depending on who and where the piece is placed, you gain different bonuses:
Regular Bonus: Every Soul Piece has a special 'effect' or ability, as long
as the piece is placed on the board, you get that bonus. See
the list of bonuses below.
Support Attacks: Many Soul Pieces also has it's own support attack. You can
assign three support attacks to one character, through the
triangle button. Check the translation section on how to
do it.
Special Bonuses
1. Colour Links: You might have noticed that all soul pieces are bordered by
colours in each quadrant. Places together pieces to that
their opposing colours are you gain an additional bonus to
the piece's regular bonus depending on the colour you link
together:
Yellow: HP up 5%
White: SP up 5%
Red: Attack up 5%
Blue: Defence up 5%
Green: Reiatsu up 5%
2. Special Links: Special Links occur when you place specific characters
linked together. They don't have to be colour linked, just
as long as they are next to each other. A list of special
links is in the special links section.

06. STAGES {stage}
********************************************************************************
This is the main part of the game, split up in to several stages.
Stages 1-13 are the main story. Stage 13 is where the 'big boss' is.
Stage 14, unlocked after completing stages 1-13 is just there for fun.
Free Stages A-D, are optional stages that you don't have to finish to clear the
game. They are a little harder than normal stages, so you might want to level
up a bit before trying them.
After finishing Stage 14, the challenge stage is unlocked.
First of all, these are the stages:

And since this game is simple, there is no need for a complete walkthrough.
Just read the map I have included, and follow the rooms in number order to get
everything.
A note about hidden areas:
There are three ways to enter a hidden area:
1. Purple Butterflies - These will fly around the area with a hidden door,
hit it and the door will reveal itself. If you're
there, and the butterfly isn't there, walk around
and it'll come back.
2. Hidden Door - These are doors that don't have an arrow signalling you
can enter it. Just look carefully at the background and
you'll see the outline of the doorway.
3. Rift - These look like the rifts that hollows come out of. They are
closed when you first see them, attack them and they will open
and you can enter the hidden area.
Note about roulette items:
From my observations, items you get from A rank and S ranks are the same, the
only difference between the two is that the lower monetary prizes are absent
in the S rank roulette. This means if you get a S rank, there is a bigger
change of getting a better item. So when listed A rank items, the S ranks
roulette probably has the largest monetary prize plus the accessory prizes.
edit: I've been told that the 'level' of some items also changes between A
and S rank, the actual item doesn't change though. Just take note that
you might have a better item in S rank compared to A rank.

About this Area:
Well, as you can see, this area is HUGE... and it's pretty hard... All
enemies are stronger than regular enemies, and they take more hits to kill.
There are 5 paths though this stage, each of the doorways in the first room
signify a different path. At the end of each path is a boss, here are the
bosses of the first four paths:
Path 1 - Area 8: Yammy + Ulquiorra
Path 2 - Area 14: Rukia + Byakuya
Path 3 - Area 22: Renji + Hitsugaya
Path 4 - Area 29: Aaroniero
Area 42: Grimmjow + Menos Grande
The last path, areas 43 to 50 is where the real fun starts! Areas 43 to 50
are boss battles, these are battles against bosses you've fought before, but
they are a lot stronger than before, they make fighting against Aizen easy...
They are as strong as the bosses the other four paths. You can heal and
change your soul board in between. But you definitely need to have good
accessories and a good soul board to even stand a chance... and being lv99
will help too.
I won't say who I used and my equipment set yet, because if you've made it
this far, you should have someone that your used to using, and it's more fun
to experiment. :D

Accessories work like in any other game, equip them and you get a bonus. You
can equip up to four accessories at one time, one for each quadrant.
However, one different thing is that each accessory has its own colour, and the
colour of the accessory changes the colour of the quadrant. The quadrant's
colours are used in the Soul Pieces Board, for the player character in the
centre of the board. Colours can be changed through synthesising, see the

11. SYNTHESIS (MAYURI'S LABORATORY) {synth}

Before I start listing the recipes, I thought I should tell you about how to
synthesise.
You synthesise two items, the first is a base, and the second is the ingredient.
> The base is the accessory that normally wont change
> The ingredient will normally '+1' the equipment and change it's colour.
'Coloured fragments' are the normal ingredient, these are useless by
themselves, and should be synthesised with other accessories.
You can also synth non-fragment items as ingredients, your result will just be
the base ingredient with a level bonus of both combined.
You are actually told what will end up with, so it's not all that hard. Not
everything can be a base or an ingredient, mainly it's only the items that
you can buy or are dropped that can be used. Synthesising is easy once you
understand, it's just VERY expensive...
So the accessory you get is dependant on the base, and below is a table of the
resulting colour:

14. CWCHEAT + EX CHARACTERS {cwcht}

If you've been reading around, then you might have heard of the 'EX'
characters. As of right now, I don't know of a 'legit' way to unlock these,
I personally got then through CWCheat. Here's the codes:

Open cheat.db with notepad, and copy/paste this to the end of the file.
The ALL CHARACTER cheat will unlock all the playable characters, including
Urahara Kisuke EX. He plays like any other character... I don't use him much,
so I can't say if he is good or bad. He has the following moves:
Up + Square Up + Square (in air)
縛り紅姫 空中散歩
Shibari Benihime 'Kuuchuu Sanpo'
Down + Square Down + Square (in air)
斬り裂き紅姫 紅姫衝撃波
Kirisaki Benihime 'Benihime Shougekiha'
The ALL SOUL PIECE cheat will unlock three extra soul pieces, these are not
required for 100%:
> 朽木ルキア EX (Kuchiki Rukia EX)
> 浦原喜助 EX (Urahara Kisuke EX)
> 涅マユリ EX (Kurotsuchi Mayuri EX)
