O============================================================================O
| 1. Introduction (10000) |
O============================================================================O
Well, i beat this game a week after i got it back when it came out and never
used a guide. Thought it was a pretty easy game. But my friend just got it at
a bargin bin price of 15 bucks and didnt wanna buy the guide. So I told him to
come here, to gamefaqs.com, and find a free guide. And much to his dismey,
there are no real walkthroughs for this game. So i told him I'd make one for
him. And here it is.
Now this game really doesnt stack up with its PS1 predecessors but for what it
is, its an alright game. So i really didnt mind a second playthrough to write
this. Most of my information came from stuff i had from 1st playthrough. The
only real thing i needed to replay for was the tasks both story and counter.
I didnt really include my stats and equips for what i did and i'll leave it up
to you to decide how you want to equip your characters. I did give a Card list
that shows stat increases with parts and so on so you can get help from that
if needed.
So here is putting off getting 100% on FFX-2 for a few days.
O============================================================================O
| 2. Story / Board Tasks (20000) |
O============================================================================O
Here I will guide you through the story. I wont include stats or equips i had.
Just a walkthrough of the tasks. So be sure to save often and get new stuff
from time to time. Better equipment makes this game much easier, although it
is allready quite easy. Also, before you can go do a Hunter Exam in rueloon,
you must get 10 EXP from board tasks AND 10 EXP from counter tasks. So do them
whenever you want to so you can make some money and get the EXP you need.
*Note - in the rewards, o's = board task EXP.

Once the scenes end you gain control of Edda, go southwest and talk to the old
man. Talk around a bit and then you will be asked to meet the elder. Go west
to talk to him. He'll ask you to follow Luberus (the man who was with him) to
the Cave of Truth.
When you arrive, try to learn the basics. How to attack, run, dash, back step,
use magic and so on. Nothing is hard. Finish off the enemies and continue
forward. Once the scene finishes, you will be stopped by the Darmyst (aka
Malademon).
-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-
Boss Battle: Rognas Gormon
-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-
The Darmyst is weak but its only attack hurts a bit. Takes quite a good deal
of damage and the reach of its attack is mid. All you have to do is run around
Darmyst until it performs its strike, avoid being hit and hit back while it is
on recovery time. Simple. You MUST exorcise Darmyst. So, repeat the same
method until it gets dizzy, exorcise it with the circle button magic attack.

Once you wake up, you will be in Milmarna. Get out or ask the lady some
questions. Anyway, just get out. Look around a bit. Go to the card shop and
ask the man there about synthesis and other things. You should understand it.
You will not be able to use the card you have yet. You cannot use it without
an ALD. Go to the Milmarna Guild and talk to the men there. We still have to
find Hemo. Get out. Go to where the three old timers are gathering, enter the
palace. Then go talk to lady Foh.
Anyway, to continue with the story go to the northwest exit and talk to the
man there then get back to the three old timers near the palace, go right to
find Hemo. Then go to the Guild and talk to span. Then talk to the man who
just came in. Tell him that you want to be a hunter... the sooner the better.
Go to the palace again. Hemo will stop you when you get near a hole (Mofly
hole) in the northeast of the palace. Agree on his request for a few laughs.
Ask the so-called all-knowing sage some questions about character cards and
some related questions. You will get Elc card when you ask it "Where can I
get them." Then get out. Don't forget that Moflies are kind of important for
information.
There were women blocking the way in northeast, now it's open. Enter to talk
to prince charming, Yumalnoh (Maru). Go to the guild. After everything. Accept
your first mission. From now on, you'll be able to use Online mode. Now you
can open up the menu by pushing the triangle button. Then take on Jungk's
task.
Task: Retraining at Lamda Temple Reward: none
Info: I used to be a trainee monk at the Lamda Temple. It was
tough work, so I ran away and got expelled. But now I'd
like to give it another try. Please help me.
-+-+-+-+-
Strategy
-+-+-+-+-
After you talk to the Lamda Priest. You will fight two monks. Jungk will be on
your side. You both have to survive the fight.
Just go to where Jungk is attacking, and attack the monk. Simple mission. Now
get back to Milmarna.
-+-+-+-+-
Go to the guild and get your reward. Then get out of the town and select the
World Map (circle button). Then select Adenade, and then Rueloon.
Go north and talk to the man at the entrance of the examination center. Then
after you finish, go west to talk to Ganz. Then save your game and talk to Ganz
at the E.C.
Your first exam is to take on 10 enemies before the time limit finishes. So do
not die and finish them off quickly. They will group on you. Let them attack,
step back, then attack them all at once. That should leave three alive. Take
them on.
This is not it. You are up against Ganz. Even if you lose, you can try again.
No game over.
-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-
Boss Fight: Ganz
-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-
Ganz is quite good if you attack mindlessly. He has a three hits combo, dash
attack (belly), and throws a stone once you are out of reach. He dodges and
steps back everytime you are within range, but mostly attacks.
All you need to do is, once he MISSES a combo, do your four hits combo then get
away. That simple, but you will need to wait for a bit to finish him off. After
he loses 40% of his life bar he will change his strategy. He will dodge more
and throw bombs. Wait for him to throw a bomb then attack while he is on
recovery time. Remember, he is mostly a close range character. You are mid...
that is a plus. Finish him off. There is a time limit.
Or, you could COUNTER ATTACK. That means when he does his three hits combo,
avoid the first hit and then fast attack before he does the next one. When his
life bar gets to 20%, he will defend a lot. Attack one time then do not
continue, go back and then counter attack. You should really get out with a
perfect. You will be a Rookie and receive 10 mystery cards! Now you can go
take on the tasks you want. First go back to Milmarna.
_

(20030) | \ -------------
Go to the guild. Take a look at the notice board, then take only task there
(Clemmie). Get out of the guild and talk to Clemmie right away. She is walking
outside the guild.. Then get out of the town.
Task: Find my Husband Demill Reward: ooooo
Info: The search for my missing husband has been called off.
They say he's probably dead. Please find him for me. I'll
be waiting by the town gates.
-+-+-+-+-
Strategy
-+-+-+-+-
If you finish enemies in a certain area and get out to another, you can return
and they will be there again. This is a plus if you are looking for items. Be
careful of the slime enemies, when they intend to spit, avoid and attack from
behind. Just get near them a bit to see if they are going to either spit or
jump at you (attack), then avoid. Reaction is needed. Mushrooms are easy to
defeat. When they jump high, they are going to do a mid range attack, step
back then counter.
Do not forget to exorcise when enemies have dark clouds around them (called
Malademons). When you face an enemy that shoots bullets at you, avoid being
hit, hit once or twice, run around it and repeat. When you get to Demill, you
will have to protect him. So, do not let the enemies get near him. Just finish
them off as said above.
*Note - When you reach a wide area that has about six enemies (four
gunners and two Malademon mushrooms), finish them off and be SURE to
destroy the box in the center to get Maru card.
-+-+-+-+-
After that continue getting out. Get back to Milmarna. Go talk with Foh and
Maru. After that, head out to Sulfas. Look around and see what the changes
are. Take a look at the card shop and and then when you finish, go to the
guild. Accept "Find the Missing Person by Guild Reporter, Boris." Go to the
pub (west).
P.S. You can synthesize cards now. This is good to boost up your strength and
create early good cards. I did not bother because I was not forced.... yet!
Task: Find the Missing Person Reward: ooooo
Info: I need a hunter to help me find Dunsany. He's chief
engineer at the Sulfas production plant, and he's gone
missing. I'll be at the town pub.
-+-+-+-+-
Strategy
-+-+-+-+-
First go to the pub west of the guild. Go down and talk to Boris. Say "No
thanks!" Then go to Mt. Sion. Everything you see was explained above. So you
know how to deal with them. Go always north and when an east path appears,
take it and continue until you find Dunsany. Now the mission really starts to
protect him.
*Note - Just when you reach Dunsany, go south (only path) then do not
continue south again. GO NORTH (take a U turn) to the group of Rhokes (birds).
Be really careful when facing the Malademon Rhoke. It throws fireballs when you
are a bit far. Kill them and then hit the box there to get Kukuru card.
Now get back and then back to Sulfas.
-+-+-+-+-
Go to the pub. A job well done. Now just north of Sulfas is a Mofly hole.
Let Hemo go in. Sulfas is great if you are looking some good cards and how to
combine. Be sure to check here once in a while. Now head to Dilzweld.
Take the stairs down and enter the door. There is a Mofly hole for Hemo.
Let him in. Hear a story about Tatjana. Go out then downstairs then out.
There is another Mofly hole beside the stairs. Let Hemo in again. Hear about
the Special Skills cards. Cane Secrets + Magical Belt = Lancer Spirit. You get
that.
Right when you enter Dilzweld, there is a Lottery shop on your right. Do not go
there yet. Save first then give it a go if you want. Also, upstairs there are
some challenging games. And each has a great reward. Mystery Cards. The green
box gives 1 card, blue box gives 3 cards, red box gives 5 cards. Mystery cards
are important for lottery.
Next door is the guild. SAVE. There is a guy next to the Board Tasks. He will
explain some of the online features for online freaks. Go out and go to the
last card shop, you should see what happens to Dunsany and his daughter, Sion.
Now off to Yewbell.
Look around to know about the twon. Some things changed. The first Mofly hole
is near the old Spirit Stones place (about card combinations). The Guild is in
Kharg's house. Exit from the path near the guild. Go north and you should find
another Mofly hole (about rare cards). You can talk to the guys here. Then go
to the pub, upstairs the look down, there is another Mofly hole for Hemo.
Let him in. Hear about the characters' special moves.
Time to go to Rueloon and take the exam.
Go to the Examination Center. Let us take the Hunter Exam to rank up
(Apprentice). Save then go. There will be 2 tasks in this exam.
Task 1 - There are exploding boxes. Go circle until you reach one of the
cowboys. Finish him off then circle again to the second one then
to the third one. That is pretty much it.
Task 2 - You will fight against Lutz. All you have to do is get near him
then L2 and spam Lancer Spirit like there is no tomorrow. BE CAREFUL
not to get hit by his Super Move (rain of knives).
You will get rank upgrade, Apprentice. And 10 Mystery Cards. Now off to
Sulfas.
_
----o---- |_|pprentice
(20040) | | -------------
Go to the Board Task and take on "Take Over Guard Duty" by Dorpa.
Task: Take Over Guard Duty Reward: ooooo
Info: Is there anyone willing to take over guard duty at the
Parenz Ruins? If so, please male your way there to assume
the position.
-+-+-+-+-
Strategy
-+-+-+-+-
Frist: Parenz Ruins.
You will face the usual ninja enemies. You know how to get rid of them.
Second: Mt. Quina Fort. D
DO NOT rush. Take your time and try to make one of them follow you, even if it
is their leader. For the leader, he has two attacks. Fire Breath and hurling
rock. Do the usual two hits then circle around strategy. Easy. Now go up.
Finish off the three enemies and then this task will be finished. You will
get back to Sulfas. Now off to Dilzweld.
-+-+-+-+-
Go to the guild and accept the notice Borad Task "Find Our Teacher" by
National Science School Pupils, Yuri, Sergei and Luka. Get out of the guild
and go northwest. There is a pub there. Go inside to find the kids there.
When you finish go to Pyramid Ruins.
Task: Find Our Teacher Reward: ooooo
Info: Our teacher hasn't been back for days and days now. Can
you find her for us?
The teacher Tatjana has gone missing. The only clue is the
Pyramid Bar in the southern desert. I must keep my word to
the children and go looking for her.
-+-+-+-+-
Strategy
-+-+-+-+-
First: Pyramid Ruins.
Once you enter and after the scene, there is a Mofly hole. Be sure to let Hemo
in. After you enter the path, do your thing. Kill everybody along the way. For
the Spiders, just mash. They are weak. Same thing for mummies. For the
Malademons for either Spiders or Mummies, two hits then circle strategy.
*Note - If you want to get Theo card, do not take the last north path
that takes you to the fight against the Giant Spider. How do you know? Just
whenever you have a west path plus a north path (and coming from east), TAKE
IT. Until you find a place with many boxes. Here is how to solve the puzzle:
1)Hit the left box.
2)Go right two steps then hit the box. One step forward to where the box was
(the one you just hit).
3)Two steps forward.
4)Hit the box infront of you then step to where it was (one step).
5)One step left. Hit the box the step to where it was (one step).
6)Hit the box on your left hand. Go to where it was (one step).
7)One step left. Hit the box and go to where it was (one step). Then forward up
all the way.
Now go back then north.
Giant Spider can be killed by the two hits and run tactic as well. When they
group on you perform Tornado or anything you have that hurts the enemies around
you. Then "your left" go up and operate the first machanism then go down again.
Take "your right" from where you come out first. Operate the second mechanism.
P.S. Mummies drop Mystery Cards. Just in case you want some (one in each drop).
Second: Barbadoth.
Go inside to talk to Ms. Tatjana. After that, go back to Dilzweld.
Go downstairs right when you enter (to where the second Mofly hole is) and you
will find the kids there. Talk to them and after that, BOMB... Tatjana card
will be yours.
-+-+-+-+-
Time to head back to Rueloon for the next exam.
Go to the Examination Center. Let us take the Hunter Exam to rank up (Expert).
Save then go.
Task 1 - Go to the first enemy (right then down), dodge then circle button,
dizzy, R2 + triangle. Same as the next one.
Task 2 - Just go and it is okay, step on the mines, so what! Heal then go
after the losers and mash.
Task 3 - You are up against Cheryl. With that gun and bomb, she can be abused
easily. Dodge, then punish. That is it. Do not go far, because she
will use her bombs. Also, try to finish her fast because she tends to
use cure when her HP goes low.
You are now an Expert, and you get 10 Mystery Cards for free. After the
scene, Dilzweld is next.

(20050) |__ -------------
Go to the guild and accept the Board Task "Help My Father" from Sonya. She is
downstairs after you get out of the guild (where the second Mofly hole is). Go
talk to her. Then off to Rodion's Castle.
Task: Help My Father Reward: ooooo
Info: I'm getting more and more worried about father everyday.
I'm afraid things are going to get out of hand... Can
anyone help? I'll be at Freedom Square.
-+-+-+-+-
Strategy
-+-+-+-+-
There is a Molfy hole just left to the man blocking the way. Let Hemo in.
First go right to talk to the Mofly. After the meaningful/meaningless story, go
out. The next to your left is another Mofly. He will tell you some information
about the bandit and thieve gunners/riflemen. Then get out and go all the way
to the right path (last one). After the scene, return to Edda.
Go back to Dilzweld. Tell Sonya what happened, then we off to Megist Jump Spot.
Take them one by one or let them group on you then use Tornado.
Now back to Rodion's Castle. Get rid of the Karate loser, then go in. You faced
the enemies here before. The guys with the knives drop Mystery Cards sometimes.
Be sure to kill as many as possible (if you want, but not really).
*Note - To get Leeza card, right when you enter after you beat the
Karate loser, go east, east, south then south again. You will notice three guys
are protecing a box. Finish them off and then destroy the box to get Leeza card.
Going north constantly will lead you to Rodion and complete this mission.
For the place just before Rodion, Try to let them follow you. The knives guys
first. If they don't, them force them. For the tanks, do not let them GROUP ON
YOU. Never do that. Take each one alone. Go to the left one and try to do one
hit and run tactic. As for the other with the gunners, SPAM Lancer Spirit like
there is no tomorrow. But do try to not get hit.
Or you could take them the long way. When they shoot, hit once and circle
around them (or around the tank to be exact). Then repeat. It is not that hard
once you read their attacks. Remember that your main focus is on the tanks
first. Lancer Spirit is USEFUL on them. So, get rid of them then kill the
others if you want. Tornado should take good care of them. Cure when needed.
After the scene, go save then off to Yewbell.
-+-+-+-+-
After the scene again, go to where they told you to. After the blah blah blah,
save and then choose the Board Notice Task "Urgent Manhunt" from Yewbell
Defense Corps Chief & Yewbell Guild Master, Duncan.
Talk to him. He is the Guild Master. Then follow the Paulette. Talk to her then
go upstairs to the bedroom. Talk to the lady there. Tell Paulette what you just
heard. Off to Shrine Ruins.
Task: Urgent Manhunt Reward: ooooo
Info: There is no time to explain, but I need you to find
someone.
-+-+-+-+-
Strategy
-+-+-+-+-
First: Shrine Ruins.
Paulette will help you with the upcoming fight. The AI controls her pretty
well. You just need to be close to her and not let her behind an enemy so she
would not get attacked. To get rid of the first group of enemies, use Meteor
Fall. It will finish them quick. Be careful, the dragon can use Tornado as
well now. Meteor Fall should take care of them. Paulette will do her Special
Move sometimes to help you. Cure or Healing Rain when needed for you or for
Paulette. The plants are still easy to take on. Move up now. Then go to Dragon
Cave.
Second: Dragon Cave.
Paulette is still around, don't worry!
Nothing is new except you will face more better dragons. Finish them the same
way you did to the old ones. Do not think of Paulette a lot when she is about
to die (but DON'T LET HER DIE). It is okay, you are more important. You can get
out of a place and she will regain health and fight again. So, focus on staying
alive.
*Note - To get Darc card, go northeast then north. You have to kill a Malademon
there (there are three green dragons here, two normal and one Malademon). When
you kill it, you will get Darc card. Continue north, northwest to fight the
boss.
I will NOT put a special space for this boss because it is PATHETIC. I killed
it in exactly fifteen SECONDS. All you have to do is circle to make Paulette
follow you then do your Lancer Spirit. Encourage Paulette to use her
devastating Special Move and watch how the Deiman Dragon FALLS like a fly. Good
for you if you saw its moves, because other than its bite attack I did not make
it do anything else. Ohh, and do not forget to spam Meteor Fall. It does a
great deal of damage. What a waste!
Go back Rueloon now because its time for the hunter exam.
-+-+-+-+-
Go to the Examination Center. Take the Hunter Exam to rank up (Veteran).
Save then go.
Task 1 - Go to where the other hunter is going and kill the dragon. Spam
Lancer Spirit.
Task 2 - Use the same method as the above one. But be sure to kill the girl
with a shot gone first. Meteor Fall eats them alive.
Task 3 - You are up against Iga next. His fists are fast. He is mainly a close
range character. Just spam your four hits combo and when he falls,
cure then retreat. Do not let him hit you with his Special Move, it
hurts. He will cure when his HP gets low. Nothing special.
Well, you are a Veteran now. Good! And you have 10 Mystery Cards! But this
time, lets hang in Rueloon a bit longer.

Go to the Notice Board and choose "Wanted: Exorcist" From Sikles. Go to floor
2 of the Assembly Hall (where you met Ganz).
Task: Wanted: Exorcist Reward: ooooo
Info: There used to be exorcists who could shoothe the souls of
the dead. If only someone like that could help me now...
I'll be on Floor 2 of the Rueloon Assembly.
-+-+-+-+-
Strategy
-+-+-+-+-
Time to head to the Water Shrine.
*Note - To get Bebedora card, go inside the warp/portal to your left
hand. Now take the south path. Go to the warp. Now you need to kill the
Malademon to get the card. Many enemies, but just mash and heal when needed and
you will be okay. If you want to get out you have to kill an enemy with
satan-like weapon.
NO need for a strategy. Mashing works well against all the enemies here.
To get to the boss, from the very start head to the warp left to your hand. Now
go north and enter the warp just before the stairs (closest one). Now you are
in Bebedora's place (if you still remember). Use the warp in the most northeast
part (near the stairs to the water in the upper right). Now you can notice
there are two warps, two exits and one bubble (ball-like). Use the portal just
ahead of you (north, not south). You will face the retarded boss.
If you have powerful spells, you will waste Selkis in a matter of seconds. If
you do not then follow my lead! Not really! Three Meteor Falls and you will
kill her as well. That goes to Dark Sphere as well. Then EXORCISE to end her
sad life. Sad, but where are the hard bosses? Mmm!
P.S. Zombies drop Magical Stones a lot.

Go back and get your reward. Let us take the second Board Task, "A Favor to
Ask" from Denik. Go behind the market and talk to him. Then off to Nithblem
Barrens.
Task: A Favor to Ask Reward: ooooo
Info: I'll wait at the alley behind the market.
-+-+-+-+-
Strategy
-+-+-+-+-
First: Nithblem Barrens.
Go talk to Leggon. Then off to Tsatuga Plateau.
Second: Tsatuga Plateau,
Go inside and after the scene you will begin to fight.
*Note - To get Ganz card, take the southeast path, not the southwest
(left to your hand). Once you enter, you will notice about 9 (or more)
exploding barrels and two machine gunners. Let all the barrels explode and the
card will be yours.
How to fight the boss? Now this boss worths my time a bit. Although the tank is
still nothing against Meteor Fall and KILLS IT FAST. This boss tends to change
its strategy depending on HP. First it will depend on the missiles then when
you lower its HP a bit, it will call for help and starts to shoot. It will
circle around so just circle with it. When its HP is very low, it will try to
hit you fast. Use your dash to get away or run to somewhere else then counter.
KILL Kiesel WHEN THEY APPEAR (one is enough). It is possible to miss it and
you will not get a complete Monster List..
Talk to Ganz then to Leggon's kid then go back to Nithblem Barrens and talk to
Leggon. Go back to Rueloon.
-+-+-+-+-
Go to the second floor to get your reward. Time to rank up.
Go to the Examination Center. Let us take the Hunter Exam to rank up (Master).
Save then go.
Task 1 - Four enemies. Let them group on you and then take them on all at
once. Be careful not to get hit by the shotgun guy.
Task 2 - Three enemies. Spam Lancer Spirit.
Task 3 - Nothing serious. Paralyzing Bomb several times (maybe 2 or three)
will get them dizzy, then trap them and goodnight.
Task 4 - You will fight against Tosh. Tosh's attacks hurt like hell. All you
have to do is SPAM LANCER SPIRIT.
You will get 10 Mystery Cards and you are now a Master Hunter. Time to head
to Yewbell.

Go to the guild to talk to Maru.
Let us take the Board Task "To Anyone Who'll Believe Me" from Morth. Go to
Castle Ruins (north of the guild) to talk to the guy then off to Scrappe
Plateau.
Task: To Anyone Who'll Believe Me Reward: ooooo
Info: I've found where the evil monsters are coming from. No one
will believe me, but it's true. Won't anyone hear me out?
I'll be at the castle ruins.
-+-+-+-+-
Strategy
-+-+-+-+-
Just look around and then go talk to him then he will advice you to move to
Chaos Forest. Do so. Finish off the enemy then let Hemo go in the Mofly hole.
There is a hole in the middle of the road, check it out. Then go back to Edda.
Save your game then head to Plumb Canyon (just in case you miss anything).
Take them one by one (usual tactic) and then go to the hole. Go back to Chaos
Forest. Go always east until you come to a southeast path, take it. After the
scene head to the sewers.
*Note - You will come across a box surrounded by four enemies (two
enemies and two Malademons). Look at your map if you cannot see them. They hide
themselves until you get near them. Take care of them then hit the box to get
Paulette card. The box is at the end of the sewers, Just before you break the
three barrels to go out, look behind you to get the card.
Continue killing these bunch of weaklings. Until you get to the boss. Now,when
I faced it, I did not have any CP left. So I had to be cheap. He performs
a thunder attack when you are far. First go Southeast and remain there. Other
weaklings will not reach you. when it does that move, change your position but
by little and counter. Two hits then retreat. When the HP goes low, it will
change the move to a close range thunder attack.
All you have to do is keep far when it performs it, then dash two hits and
return far. Repeat until it dies. It did not hit me at all. But it took 7
minutes to finish it off. If you have a lot of CP left, then you will do just
fine.
Go back to Yewbell. Go to the guild then talk to Paulette. Return to Morth,
talk to him and a job well done again. Save your game. Off to Milmarna.
-+-+-+-+-
Go to the guild. After the disappointment, take the board task "Wanted: Master
Hunter." Go to Library at Peisus.
Task: Wanted: Master Hunter Reward: ooooo
Info: I asked a hunter to do some work for me a while back,
but I've heard nothing since. All I know is that he was
a Master; I don't even know his name. Can anyone help me?
I'll be in Peisus.
-+-+-+-+-
Strategy

Go talk to the counter, then go inside. Go northeast to find a Mofly hole. Go
inside then go out. Return to Edda. Do you notice the Umen Statue staring at
you? Well, you need to get the eyes in the west and east side. You need to not
let it stare at you. All you have to do is not get near it. There is a Trophy
left of the statue and a Dragon Stone right of the statue. When you want to go
west go infront of the statue (north) and then pass by the Trophy. The Trophy
is a blind spot to the statue. By that you will be able to continue and get
the dragon eye in the west side. Do the same with the east one. Now go and put
them up ahead to open the secret door. Red left, blue right. Speak to the old
timer then head to Milmarna, then to the guild to talk to Span.
Now head to Lamda Temple. Go west to talk to Boris. Once they are finally done
talking, Head to Ice Gallery.
*Note - Continue going your way until you notice two malademons slime
type are standing near a small ice wall. Kill them then destroy the ice to get
Cheryl card.
The enemies are weak. Continue hacking and slashing. Just be careful when you
face the giant wolves(Cerberus). Boris (retarded punk) tends to screw you by
following you and getting near them. So, try to not make them perform their
fire move. Or stick to the easy way. Do Meteor Fall from a distance until they
die. They will not come as long as you are far enough.
Then go back to Library at Peisus to talk to the old timer. Once the task is
complete, head to Milmarna.
-+-+-+-+-
Go to the guild then talk to Span. Do some counter tasks to get 10 stars and
then head to Rueloon.
Once at Rueloon, Go to the second floor of the Assembly Hall and talk to Ganz
first. Then go to the Examination Center and talk to Ganz. He will let you
take the Hunter Exam to rank up (Hero). Save then go.
Task 1 - Spam Lancer Spirit. You fight against three opponents.
Task 2 - Same as above and you could just mash your combo over and over again.
The Cerberus thought that it was strong back when Edda was with
Boris. Look how weak they really are!
Task 3 - Capture them. Attack them for a while then paralyze them then trap
them.
Task 4 - You will fight Ganz. He is much easier than before for the fact that
you are much stronger and more prepared than before. Mash and cure
when needed. THAT'S IT! Do not pay attention to what he does. Just
mash and circle when he performs his Special Move.
You will be a Hero and he will give you 10 Mystery Cards.
P.S. Now you can take five missions at once.

Go to World Map, Aldrow, then to Cathena Lab. Go inside then take the elevator
up. Go fight your normal enemies. With the stats above, you will have less to
no problems at all (in the meantime).
Go north then north again. Then go see the picture. Then read the book. Go
west to catch up then go east to continue kicking arse.
*Note - Whenever you get a west a path, take it. You will get into a
room that has about three Malademons and one robot (and some other normal
enemies). Kill the robot to get Kharg card. They are waiting in the west path
anyway.
Then go west again. Well, somebody is missing around. Anyway, continue from
the south path.
-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-
Boss Battle : Chalice
-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-
First Form (Yggdrasill):
Its strategy is pretty basic. First get near it and spam Spirit Lancer, or
better yet Cragh Spirit. it will hit everyone around you. And it will do quite
some damage. Then Chalice will stand up and charge to beam. Kill the monsters
under its feat and when it stops charging, that means it will unleash its
move. Dash forward then run circle with the beams (race them) to avoid being
hit. DO NOT FORGET TO KILL Dovalin (a fly-like enemy). It can be missed.
That is pretty much it... just repeat.
Second Form (Nidhogg):
Just spam Lancer Spirit. Acutally if it does anything and you do not have time
to move, LANCER SPIRIT. Because it has "invincibility." You cannot get hit
when you perform it. When it jumps, run far away from Kirika/Ursula (to not
get hurt) then when it body slams, spam Lancer Spirit again. Didn't even touch
me! DO NOT FORGET TO EXORCISE! And by that I mean, get Chalice's HP as low as
possible, then wait for Kirika to either hit the last hit to let you exorcise
or if Chalice had some HP left, hit fast and then exorcise before Kirika
screws your whole strategy and let Chalice live again. It won't die unless you
exorcise it, okay?!
Congratulations! Well done! Chalice is dead and you've completed the main
story. However, the game is not finished yet. Lets Keep Goin!

Task 1 - Five enemies. Spam Lancer Spirit.
Task 2 - Three enemies. Spam Earth Spirit.
Task 3 - Three enemies. Attack until they get dizzy then capture them.
Task 4 - Three dragons. Spam Earth Spirit (should go down by one hit).
Task 5 - You will fight Alec. Like the others. Combo then retreat. Then when
he gets up, wait a bit until the invincibility wears off, then attack
again. Nothing serious. Be careful though, he is good in both attack
and magic moves. Very balanced, I must say.
You are now a General! 20 Mystery Cards for you! Now go to World Map, Aldrow,
then to Orcoth.

Task 1 - Seven enemies. Spam Lancer Spirit and when they group on you spam

Task 2 - Four same old enemies. Spam Earth Spirit.

care about the HP. They will be captured no matter what. Your defense
is too good.
Task 4 - Three dragons. Spam Earth Spirit. Do not let them hurt the lady.
Task 5 - You will fight against Elc. You should by now have known that Elc is
a close range character, so you know how to deal with him. Anyway,
just mash and heal when needed.

Now go to the Examination Center. Let us take the Hunter Exam to rank up
(Arc). Save then go.
Task 1 - Ten enemies. Spam Lancer Spirit and when they group on you spam Earth
Spirit.
Task 2 - Five same old enemies. Spam Earth Spirit or Lancer Spirit. Your game,
your choice.
Task 3 - Five enemies. Do two hits and circle tactic until they get dizzy then
capture them. Take your time.
Task 4 - Four dragons. Spam Earth Spirit. Do not let them hurt the lady. One
Earth Spirit will take down a Dragon.
Task 5 - You will fight Arc. He is quite good due to his great attack, defense
and magic stats. He can guard as well. His magic attacks hurt and he
performs Total Healing whenever he wants. Just mash and retreat then
counter as soon as the invincibilty wears off. Don't let him perform
Total Healing too much.
Congratulations! You got 40 mystery cards and the Arc card! That means the
only four cards that cannot be won in the lottery shop are volk, Arc, Elc and
Choco.

| 3. Counter Tasks (30000) |
O============================================================================O
Counter Tasks are the bulk of the game. The Counter Tasks work much like the
hunter guild system in the original games, but improved. Very much improved.
Once you have talked with the guild master and entered the task menu, simply
navigate through the hunter class with the L1 and R1 buttons and then select
the task you wish to take on. As your hunter class gets higher you will be
able to select from more, harder tasks. There are 10 different types of tasks
you can take on. They are:
I - Annihilation
II - Extermination
III - Defeat
IV - Defend
V - Arrest
VI - Rescue
VII - Collection
VIII - Search
XI - Capture
X - Protection
I'll explain what they are in their respective sections. Each task, depending
on its class level, will earn you Gods (currecny) and Experience Points. The
harder the task, the larger the reward.
The tasks listed for each class aren't in any order except the order of when i
saw them on my game and copied them onto here. And the amount of *'s in each
reward represent the amount of EXP earned for completing the task.

| 6. Book of Monsters (60000) |
O============================================================================O
The Book of Monsters is basicly a beastiary and can be found in a mofly hole
that is on the building in Rueloon where the card shop is. To access the hole,
simply go near the north side of the building and hug the wall. You will find
a hidden path behind the building which will lead to the hole. Once inside,
talk with the mofly and you can view information on all of the enemies you
have killed or exorsized while playing.
I will include a full list of monsters in the next version.

First, thanks to all the members who contributed to this FAQ through the
boards here at gamefaqs.com, and to everyone who helped out through emails
or i.m.'s.
Thanks to Basel for letting me use some strategies from his Task FAQ also
located here at GameFAQs.com. it really helped a lot as far as finishing
this quick.
Thanks to GameFAQs and all of you who have written FAQs for this site for
always being there when i and many others have needed help with those tough
spots in games for the past 10 years.
Thanks to SCEA and CattleCall for making this game, because without them, I
wouldnt have wrote this FAQ.
