Welcome to my twenty-fifth Guide without a co-author.

Originally, I played the Acorn Archimedes version of this game in lower school.
Like several other games I played on the Archimedes, I wanted to replay the
game.  After replaying the game, I then decided to write a guide for it.

I have enjoyed writing this guide and playing the game, and wish that anyone
using this guide finds the game just as fun and this guide helpful.  Good luck
with the game.

02)                              Walkthrough                             [MC02]

This portion of the guide will explain how to complete every level for every
puzzle in this game.  Some puzzles have a static solution per level, some have
several combinations per level, and some have completely different variables
that can only be covered by a general solution.  Each sub-section will provide
a better understanding on completing that specific puzzle than I can here.

02A)      Seals                                                         [MC02A]
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The seals have the wrong balance balls on their noses.  You have to direct the
seals in how to move the balls to get them to their rightful owner.  This game
will be described more with useful hints than instructions, due to the random
element this game includes.  There will only be detailed instructions if there
is a common situation that a player may easily encounter.

Level 1
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
There is a single row of 5 seals.  Just choose a direction to move the balls
and keep moving in that direction until you complete the level.

Level 2
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
There are 2 rows of 2 seals.

If there is a colour that belongs to a seal on the same row, move the ball to
that specific seal.  Once you have sorted out the rows, switch any balls that
are not on their required row with each other and then arrange the balls on the
correct seals.

If there are no colours on the correct row, switch all the balls to the other
row and then move the balls to the correct seals.

Level 3
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
There are 2 rows of 3 seals.

Here are the steps I follow to complete this level:

1) While keeping the balls on the same row, match any possible ball with the
  seal that the ball belongs to.

2) Select a row to focus your attention on.  Move the balls from the other rows
  to your row, making sure that the balls are in the correct position on the
  row you are giving your attention to.  Do not worry about the other row in
  this step.

3) Check that the row you did not focus on has all the colours in the correct
  order.  If they do not, you should have 2 balls that should swap their
  positions.

4) To swap the position of the balls, swap the incorrect ball on the right side
  (referred to as [Ball 1]) to the other row.  Move the other ball (referred
  to as [Ball 2]) to the current position of the ball that does not belong on
  this row.  Swap [Ball 1] and [Ball 2], so that [Ball 1] is on the correct
  row.  Move [Ball 1] to the seal that owns that ball.  Swap [Ball 2] to the
  correct row.

Level 4
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
There are 3 rows of 3 seals.

Here are the steps I follow to complete this level:

1) While keeping the balls on the same row, match any possible ball with the
  seal that the ball belongs to.

2) If each row does not have a single ball that belongs on that row, move any
  required balls to rows without a matching colour ball.

3) This step is a bit more tricky.  For each row, you need to move another ball
  to each row that should finish on that row, with both balls on the correct
  seal, while making sure that no row has all three balls on that row.

4) Line up the remaining colours that are not on the correct row, switch the
  balls to their required row and then move all the balls to the corresponding
  seals.

Level 5
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
There are 3 rows of 4 seals.

Here are the steps I follow to complete this level:

1) Start this level by choosing a column of seals and focus on getting that
  specific column completed with the correct balls to the seals.

2) Once the first column is completed, work on another column.  The balls in
  this column should be in the correct position when the first column balls
  are also on the right seal.

3) With the remaining columns, arrange the balls so that they are NOT on the
  correct row for each colour.  You want to have it so that you can move the
  balls up or down to get them onto their specific row, even if you need to
  move the rows across to get them in the correct colour ball sequence.

4) Once you have the balls on the wrong rows, get the colour sequence of one
  column correct, moving any rows that you need to for the swap to be correct
  for each row.

5) Check that the sequence on each row is correct, excluding the remaining set
  of three that should still be wrong.  If there are more than 3 balls that
  are incorrect, reverse the change you have done and try again.  If only 3
  balls are incorrect, line them up in a row, swap them to the correct line,
  and the move the rows until all the balls are on their rightful seals.

02B)      Trapeze                                                       [MC02B]
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The objective of this game is to time when you need the trapeze artist to
attempt to swing to reach the other side.  The trapeze artist will attempt to
grab the next trapeze rope (referred to as rope in this section), dropping if
your timing is not accurate.  You will only control your player until the last
level, where you will also gain control of the height of the last rope.

Level 1
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
Go when the rope reaches the trapeze artist's hand.

Level 2
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
When the right rope is as far right as possible, make the trapeze artist move.

Level 3
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
The right rope must be swinging towards the artist, only travelling a quarter
of the rope swing, when you make the artist move.

Level 4
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
The right rope will touch the middle rope.  After this touch, it will take
another 4 swings before the ropes will meet again.  Wait until the middle rope
has done 3 swings in a row to the right without touching the right rope, then
go after the right rope has travelled a quarter of the rope swing to the left.

Level 5
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
Regarding the right rope, lower the height as far to the bottom as possible.
Once it reaches the bottom, raise the height 3 times.  Then wait for the middle
rope to be swinging to the left, travelling only a quarter of the rope swing,
before setting the artist off.

02C)      Magician                                                      [MC02C]
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The objective of this puzzle is to reach the magician without being harmed by
the enemies.  You are the person that starts on the left side of the screen,
and the button will make you walk a few steps.  You need to press the button
six times to reach the magician.

Level 1
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
Harry the Horrible
- Looks like a grey hairy beast
- His button will make him roar
- Travels up and down the centre of the screen
- If he is close, he will stop you by grabbing you

In this level, you want Harry to be either right at the top of the screen or
right at the bottom of the screen when you make the steps to cross his path.
If you are having problems, you can make him roar when he is at the top of the
screen.

Level 2
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
Wanda the Witch
- Witch standing in front of the magician
- Her button will make her cast a Frog spell
- The Frog spell can only be cast once in a level
- Will attempt to cast the spell if you step too close, turning you into a Frog
- Walking into her wand when it is pointing at you will kill you

The first thing I do it to make Wanda use her spell.  It will not reach you or
Harry at the start of this level.  After Wanda has used her spell, make your
way past Harry as you did in Level 1.

This part should be done to finish this level and the remaining levels for this
puzzle.  Keep walking towards Wanda until she attempts to turn you into a frog.
This attempt should fail, but the wand will be pointing towards you and will
hurt if you walk into it.

Level 3
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
There are no new enemies active in this level.

Harry will now only cover the path where he can intercept you.  To complete
this level, you will need to wait until Harry is in-line with you and Wanda
before making Wanda use her magic.  This will turn Harry into a frog and allow
you to walk forward until Wanda attempts to use the spell.  After Harry has
been turned into a frog, complete the level using the same method as you did in
Level 2.

Level 4
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
Doris the Dragon
- Dragon with the yellow belly
- Her button will make her charge forward, while using her flame breath
- Her charge range is enough to burn Harry
- If you get too close to Wanda, she will burn you with her flame breath

When Harry moves in-line with you and Wanda, make Doris charge.  After Doris has
dealt with Harry, use Wanda's frog spell to turn Doris into a frog.  Head to
the end of this level, only stopping when Wanda raises her wand.

Level 5
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
Desmond the Dragon
- Dragon with the red belly
- His button will make him charge forward, while using his flame breath
- His charge range is enough to stand in Harry's path
- This dragon can be scared by Harry's roar
- If you get too close to Wanda, he will burn you with his flame breath

Harry needs to be at the top of the screen, looking down before you should have
Desmond charge.  Desmond should be directly in front of Harry, and Desmond will
be scared away by Harry's roar.  Once Desmond has moved to the bottom-left of
the screen, complete the level in the same manner as Level 4.

02D)      Traffic                                                       [MC02D]
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

To complete this game, you need to release the car at the right time to avoid
getting stopped at any traffic light.  Unlike the Trapeze game, this game does
not have a static time to leave.  I have played through the different levels of
this game more than 20 times and could not find an indication of any time to
advise you when to go to complete the level.

If you are not successful in your first attempt, retry the level straight away.
The timings for the level will not change unless you leave the game and/or
level setting.  I am unsure if the timings change if you complete the level,
as I used the same timing 10 times in a row for the first level, but once I
tried a higher difficulty and the went back to level 1, the same timing was no
longer successful.

02E)      Cannon                                                        [MC02E]
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The objective of this game is to shoot the Human Cannonball into the bucket of
water.  This will require you to work out the angle, power and/or the position
of the bucket to shoot the Human Cannonball into the bucket of water.

If you are not successful in your first attempt, retry the level straight away.
The variables for the level will not change unless you successfully shoot the
guy into the bucket of water, or you leave the game and/or level setting.
Basically, fire the Cannonball once to see where it lands, then keep adjusting
the variable(s) until you complete the specific level.

Level 1
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
You need to move the bucket to where the Cannonball will land.

Level 2
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
Adjust the gunpowder to hit the target.

Level 3
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
Change the angle of the shot to reach the bucket.

Level 4
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
The angle of the shot and the amount of gunpowder will need to be altered to
get the shot through a gap in a grey wall and into the bucket.

Level 5
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
It is only possible to change the amount of gunpowder, the angle of the shot
and the gap in the pink wall in this level.  You must shoot the Cannonball
through a stationary hole in the grey wall and a movable gap in the pink wall
to reach the bucket of water.

02F)      Cage                                                          [MC02F]
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Basic mathematics will be utilized to be successful for the majority of this
game.  You will be provided with a set of instructions that you need to solve
to open the lock of the cage.

The in-game instructions will describe the locks in relation to their position,
with the highest lock being referred to as the "first lock".  The directions
below will relate to the locks in a letter-identified format.  Within the clues
for each level, the lock letter will indicate when the same lock is used within
the clues provided in-game.  I will then explain a method I found repeatable to
complete the level.

Level 1

D) The [LOCK-E] plus the [LOCK-B] number is ??
E) All five numbers add up to ??

NOTE: [LOCK-A] can only have the value of 1-5, [LOCK-C] can only be an odd
     number (1, 3, 5, 7 or 9) and [LOCK-D] can only have the value of 2-6.

- Identify the locks in relation to how I have presented them in the clues for
 this level
- Move [LOCK-A] to 5, [LOCK-C] to 9 and [LOCK-D] to 6.  These are the highest
 values the locks can be, and should match clues "B)" and "C)"
- Move [LOCK-B] until you have met the requirements for clue "A)"
- Move [LOCK-B] until you have met the requirements for clue "D)"
- If you have not completed the level, move [LOCK-A], [LOCK-D] and [LOCK-E]
 down by 1, move [LOCK-B] up by 1 and move [LOCK-C] down by 2.  This should
 keep all the clues {excluding clue "E)"} correct, while also giving you a
 chance to complete clue "E)"
- If clue "E)" still does not match, change the values as specific previously.
 Keep this change up (verifying that the changes still indicate that the other
 clues still match at the end) until you complete the level

02G)      Unicycles                                                     [MC02G]

This game is about basic calculations.  You need to work out the values of each
size, then remove the value of one side from the other side.  You should then
place the red unicyclist to the correct answer.  Below is a diagram of how I
work out the answers for these games:

NOTE: I consider (2) to be positive instead of negative as using the above
     calculation would mean that I would actually be adding the numbers up.
     This is to display the calculation in a method that would make more sense
     to the age group this game is aimed at.

     In mathematics, if you minus a minus number, the calculation performed
     increases the original number instead of decreases the number.  If the
     numbers remained negative in our calculations, we would have to add them
     to get the answer we want.  Can be kind of confusing.

The objective of this puzzle is to fill in the missing information, based of
the provided on the screen.  Below is the different values you could need to
calculate and what they are referred to in this subsection:

Level 1

You only need to work out the "Total Tickets".  Just increase the value until
you complete the game.

Level 2

You need to work out the "Total Tickets", "Total-2" and "Total Money".  Here is
how you need to calculate these totals:

Unlike the previous levels, this version contains a lot of guess work.  I would
suggest that you spread the "Total Tickets" between "Ticket-1" and "Ticket-2".
After you have decided on a starting point, calculate the values for "Total-1"
and "Total-2".  If you have not completed the level, change the values of the
"Ticket-1" and "Ticket-2" and then recalculate the "Total-1" and "Total-2"
until you complete this level.

02I)      Elephants                                                     [MC02I]
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

For this game, you have to measure a specified amount of medicine using the two
containers provided.  Each time you make a move to put some medicine within a
container, the game will attempt to fill the container up as much as possible.
If a container is already full, you will not be able to pour more medicine into
the container until it is emptied.

Arrows above a container               -   Fills the container below
Arrows below a container               -   Empties the container above
Left Arrow within the "Pour" window    -   Pours from right container to left
Right Arrow within the "Pour" window   -   Pours from left container to right

Level 1
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
Each time I have played this level, the amount of medicine required was the
same as the total of both containers put together.  You should be able to fill
up both containers to pass this level.

Levels 2-5
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
After the first level, this puzzle just repeats itself with a longer solution.
Here is the basic principle to complete these levels:

1) Fill up the larger container
2) Pour the contents of the larger container into the smaller container
3) Empty the smaller container
4) Keep pouring the medicine into the smaller container until the larger
  container has become empty.  When the larger container is empty, you should
  NOT empty the smaller container
5) Fill the larger container again
6) Repeat steps 2-5 until you have completed the level

NOTE: If you empty the smaller container after the larger container has become
     empty, you will have to redo the progress you made so far.  You will most
     likely not complete these levels if you keep discarding the contents of
     the smaller container straight after you have emptied the contents of the
     larger container into the smaller container.

02J)      Seat Bolts                                                    [MC02J]
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The objective of this game is to find the missing bolt for a set of seat
stands.  Each attempt within the game will provide you with the distance that
the missing bolt is located from your attempt.  The bolts are at a distance of
one unit away from any adjoining bolts.  I have never managed to run out of
attempts in this game, so just keep trying until you succeed.

In the table below, all of the "ANSWER" section relates to where the missing
bolt in relation to the bottom-left corner bolt (where you start each round).

042)      Clowns                                                        [MC02K]

The objective of this game is to make all the clowns stand up.  To do this, you
will need to understand the ability of each clown and how to use them to your
advantage.  Below is the different types of clowns you will encounter.  I have
made up names for each clown so it is easier to explain in the level-specific
portion of this section.

NAME:        Bucket Clown (B)
ABILITY:     Throws a bucket of water.  Knocks down the first clown it hits.
USAGE:       Knocking down a clown adjacent to 2 Stick Clowns.
DESCRIPTION: Wears a purple shirt with dark green trousers, with a red nose and
            stringy, black hair.

NAME:        Hose Clown (H)
ABILITY:     Turns on a hose.  Knocks down any clowns in the direction this
            clown is facing.
USAGE:       Making the majority of clowns sit down in a single move.
DESCRIPTION: Wears a red shirt with blue jeans, with a red nose and brown hair.

NAME:        Ladder Clown (L)
ABILITY:     Swings his ladder around.  Knocks down any adjacent clowns.
USAGE:       Unknown
DESCRIPTION: Wears a green shirt with a black hat and red trousers, held up by
            braces.  Has a green nose and black, stringy hair.

NAME:        Stick Clown (S)
ABILITY:     Uses the black sticks to invert the current position of any clown
            next to him.  If the clown is standing, they will be made to sit
            and vice versa.*
USAGE:       Lift up other clowns without having them use their abilities.
DESCRIPTION: Wears white overalls and a yellow shirt, with a red nose and red
            hair.

* Unlike most abilities, the Stick Clown ability will work whether the clown is
 instructed to change position.  The other abilities will only be used when a
 clown is instructed to stand up.

You should notice a letter for each clown type after it's name.  This is to
identify the type of the clown in any examples I use.  If you see a (U) in any
of my examples, this is an Unknown Clown.

Level 1
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
Make the Stick Clown stand.  This will also get the adjacent clown to stand up.

Level 2
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
Make the only non-Stick Clown not adjacent to a Stick Clown stand up.
This will stop any ability that the clown would use.  Now make the Stick Clown
stand up, also forcing the two clowns next to him to stand up as well.

Until I started this guide, I always assumed that this level only had a single
puzzle.  However, I then found 2 other puzzles when I attempted to replay the
level once I completed it.  Below are the 3 puzzles I have encountered:

1) H S S S S S S H          2) S S S L L S S S          3) H S S S H S S S

Whatever the puzzle, the solution should be like this:

A) Identify a group of 4 clowns, arranged similar to this:   U1 - S1 - S2 - S3
  The Unknown Clown should NOT be a Stick Clown.
B) Make S2 stand, forcing S1 and S3 to also stand.
C) Make S1 (closest to U1) sit, forcing U1 to stand and S2 to sit.
D) Make U1 sit.
E) Make S1 stand, forcing U1 and S2 to also stand.
F) Repeat for the remaining 4 clowns that are sitting down

Although I had the Unknown Clown sitting on the left, you can do the same trick
with the clown sitting on the right.  The only difference is that you need to
make the Stick Clown next to the Unknown Clown perform the same instructions as
the S1 clown above.

NOTE: I am aware that you can make a group of 4 clowns stand up in the order I
     have used in my example just by making U1 stand before S2.  However, you
     still need to make a second group stand up as well, which will involve
     the U1 of the second group using it's ability on 1 or multiple clowns in
     the second group.

02L)      Lions                                                         [MC02L]

For this game, you need to sort the lions in their size order.  Smaller lions
cannot jump over larger lions, and lion cubs (the ones without manes) cannot
jump over any lion.

Although the amount and types of lions will change with each level, the method
used to complete the level will not.  I will start each level by identifying
the smallest lion and move him to the required side.  I will then identify the
second smallest lion and move him next to the smallest lion and keep doing this
until I have completed the level.

Level 1
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
You have to rearrange 2 adult lions.  Just invert the position of the lions.

Level 2
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
You have to rearrange 3 adult lions.  The smallest lion should be on the left.

Level 3
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
You have to rearrange 4 adult lions.  The smallest lion should be on the right.

Level 4
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
You have to rearrange 4 adult lions and a lion cub.  The smallest lion should
be on the left.

Level 5
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
You have to rearrange 4 adult lions and 2 lion cubs.  For this level, the game
does not provide you with the placement of the smallest lion.  However, neither
cub can jump over the other cub, so find out which side the smaller cub is
closest to in comparison with the larger cub.  Once you work out which side the
smaller cub can reach without crossing the larger cub, move the smaller cub to
the last platform on that side.  Then move the larger cub next to the smaller
cub and then complete this level like the previous levels.
