If you find my guide anywhere else, email me at

if you do rip off of me, trust me, I will find you.
In terms of emailing me, the first rule is READ THE DAMN FAQ FIRST! I will not
respond to any emails asking a question in which the answer to said question is
in the FAQ, I will just sit here in my comfortable computer chair and laugh.
Also, no, I do not wish to buy anything, no soliciting. And I don't care how
Auntie Peggy is doing, only email me about the faq. If you do email me, try to
put the title of the game in the subject header, or I may accidentally delete
it without reading it. Suggestions are welcome with open arms, as well as any
tips, tricks, glitches, ect.
Also, do not add me to your MSN buddy list.

II - Introduction
-----------------------------------
I am writing this guide because it is very hard to find a good one on the
internet, and I know how frustrating that would be.
ABOUT THE GAME
Law and Order 2: Double or Nothing (referred to from now on as LAO2), is, in my
opinion, one of the best law "simulating" games on the market. This title
should only be $20 by now, so go pick one up if you haven't yet. The game uses
the basic "use the mouse to pan and click" interface, and you cannot roam
freely around the environments, instead, you must click on evidence and such to
evaluate it, and if you wish to move to another area, and arrow will appear as
the cursor, and will move you to another section of the scene/environment. In
the first half, you play as Lennie Brisco's partner, a detective. In the second
half, you play as ADA Serena Southerland's partner.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
II:A - Story
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It seems that a very successful scientist named Ramos has been shot dead in a
busy NYC street, and it is up to you to gather evidence, question witnesses,
interrogate suspects, and follow leads to successfully put out an arrest warrant
on the killer. Then the second half kicks in, and now it is time to prosecute
the bastard. You must convince the jury with legitimate evidence, witnesses,
ect, all while asking the correct questions written out by the procedure of the
court, and objecting when the Defensive Attorney steps out of line.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
II:B - Interface
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This game has a simple drag and drop GUI. First let's go over the bottom
panel: You have your case file, which you use to organize your case and set up
surveillience, crime lab analylisis, research, psychiatric evaluations, search
warrants, arrest warrants, and later on, subpoenas. Then, you have a menu
button, which takes you to the main menu to save/load a game, ect. You will
also see a map icon, which takes you to a map where you can click on various
locations to go to them. After that there is your cellphone, which experts
use to contact you when research reports, ect, are finished. Also there is a
Case log icon, which logs every bloody thing you do in the game, useful for
backtracking events.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
II:C - Controls
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This game uses a very simple control scheme. To view a piece of evidence, click
on it, and to put it in your case file as evidence, click on the icon to add
it. The entire interface is point and click, with very few occourences in
which you must use a keyboard. (IE: you may have to decode a laptop email).

So..you're stuck and don't know where to go? Fear not, I shall help you.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
III:A - I've got skills
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Before you begin, you must choose two "skills" from a list...I recommend
Evidence Collection and questioning witnesses. They are:
Interviewing/Questioning witnesses.
If you use this skill, one of the questions will be eliminated, letting you
easily find the best question to ask.
Teamwork
If you choose this one, your boss will give you hints. In the first chapter,
they will be on the chalkboard in the main room of the precinct. In the second
chapter, they will be in a fax machine in the ADA office.
Case organization
This skill basically ruins the game. It tells you what to include in the
warrants.
Evidence Collection
With this skill enabled, as you pass your cursor over evidence, a magnifying
glass will appear, making it easier to scan environments for clues

III:B - You are DETECTIVE!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A cutscene shows the prelude to the crime, and you and your partner arriving.
After the cutscene, question the doorman to get it out of the way. Oh by the
way, HE DID IT!. Hehehe..just kidding.
Search the car and add both windows, the keys, the documents on the back seat,
the wallet the little card, and the cash (use the keys to get in the glove
box), to your case file. Submit the windows to the crime lab. Outside of the
car, near the hotel and the doorman, you will find nothing worth collecting.
Go to the other side of the car and pick up the bullet fragment, and ship it
off the the lab. After you're good and dandy with that part, go question the
LINDA KELLER that the doorman was babbling about, and submit her to
SURVEILLIENCE, then go question Dr. Ramos' wife. She is what I like to call a
bitch, I never liked her, and foolishly tried to arrest her with a
warrant..hehe..but otherwise, collect the answers from her, then go visit DIANA
QUINN, the young, sexy lab assistant. She will yammer on and on about how he
will be missed and such, and direct you to DONALD KENT, the CEO of Avery Labs
(where RAMOS worked). Submit QUINN to SURVEILLIENCE, and visit richy-rich (Mr.
Kent). This guy probably wipes his ass with $50 dollar bills, and provides
little info.
Now, go to the crime lab (your phone should've told you), and
listen to Paul discuss the evidence by clicking on whatever evidence you want
to discuss. The main thing here is the passenger window, on which he found
untraceable prints (this will, of course, come in useful later). Now, Mr. Kent
should've mentioned a hotel. Go to the hotel and access the room by using the
card you collected from the car. Add the party invite and the glass on the
nightstand to your case file, submit the glass to the crime lab, and look into
the closet. Wow! A safe! Now we get to get into it: Remember that paper full
of gibberish you found back in the car? Well now you get to use it, go to your
case file, find the paper, and double click it. You will see a number at the
top (some organization number). That just happens to be the code to the safe.
Open the safe, add the check to your case file and submit it to the lab, and
add the money to your case file.
By now, the analysis on that glass should be
ready (if not, just go from place to place until your phone notifies you). One
you get there, the prints on the glass are none other than DR. QUINN's! Let's
haul that liar in. Go to the DIANA QUINN spot on the map and watch the quirky
cut scene. Once in the Interrogation room, she will ask you why you are
hammering her with accusations. Show here the LAB TEST of the glass, not the
actual glass, and she will confess to having an affair with Ramos. Hmm..It
seems that the wife was lying. Go see her rich ass and listen to her babble on
and on about her social status. After that, gather the reports on the check
and visit MARTIN TANNER. He will tell you of his past in investing and yadda
yadda yadda, he seems cool.
Now go visit PHILLIP WRIGHT, who is the lawyer on the invitation. He will tell
you some stuff about being buddies with Ramos, and how Ramos tried to get him
involved in certain projects.
By now, you should be about ready to do a search warrant
on AVERY LABS. Put the following into the warrant:
Donald Kent (as the suspect)
Phillip Wright
Celia Ramos
Linda Keller
Martin Tanner
Submit it, and you should have access. Go to the lab and watch Diana Quinn
bitch at you about the warrant, which is always good for a laugh. First, find
the paper shredder, which is by the big water jug. Oh boy, there is a note you
must piece together. piece it so the result is:
Ramos
Don't ignore us.
For the last time -
GIVE US BACK WHAT'S OURS!
OR ELSE!!!
Oh how lovely, a threat. Ship this off to the lab. Next, go to the desk next
to the shredder, and send the laptop to the Research.
Go to the lab and ask about the note. It is in (suprise suprise!) Martin
Tanners handwriting (Paul got it from analyzing the check's writing). Let's go
pay Mr. Intimidate a visit.
When you get to the Tanner Home, you run into his Wife, CINDY TANNER. You
learn that she is behind all of this and that she had him write the letter.
Now, go to research and that laptop should be done, and all you have to do is
decode it!
Decode it so it says this:
Confidential
To: WTR
From: DSK
I want to make it clear that all
funding for the human cloning projects
under your supervision will be
cancelled if financial documentation
is not provided to me ASAP. This will
be my last communication before
discontinuing your funding.
Hmm..from DSK? Donald Kent! Lets go talk to him. You ask him stuff about his
cloning project, ect. Nothing big here.
Now, Cindy probably mentioned a SHIRLY CHO, an accountant, and you must go
visit her. You will learn why she got fired from Avery Labs, and more about
the experiences, and you also dig up some dirt on Linda Keller. Shirly also
gives you the key to the desk.
Go back to Avery Labs and look in the desk drawer. Inside you will find a very
large medical waiver for Linda Keller...seems she was a test subject all along.
let's go bring her in.
You will need to show her the waiver to get her to talk. The whole thing
stinks, and by now I wanted to put her behind bars. Put survellience on Linda
Keller's place and await the results. Wow, we must have scared her, she is
fixing to leave town. Quickly perform a search warrant with the following:
Linda Keller (suspect)
The waiver
Shirly Cho
and linda's suverllience data
