Guacamelee! is an interesting game with a Mexican theme to it. The music takes
you right home to Mexico, and the well drawn backgrounds add to the flavor.
It's a 2D side scrolling adventure game similar to the old Metroid games, with
and interesting twist in that attacks are done in Mexican Luchador wrestling
style. It's really fun stuff.

2= WALKTHROUGH
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Before Starting, keep in mind these gameplay tips:

-To go down levels, press Down + Jump button.
-Stores heal health! Just passing by works.
-Watch your stamina. It's easy to spam special moves and then run out.

_______________
Juan's house
_______________
Go on up and up by jumping, and once you go up the last stairs, do continue
pushing right, as simply jumping up to the upper level won't change areas. Go
on through the bright door to the great outdoors. Gotta help out Mr Priest,
so go on left and enter:
_______________
[2.1] PUEBLUCHO
_______________

Going up leads to a closed area, so just continue left. Before we help out
the priest, let's get some goodies first. Go on far left until you see a house
with a sign that says "Gato Negocio VS Rana Soltero" and go through the door.
Press Down + Jump to go down the floorboards and you'll see a chest of money.
That's it for items, so on to help the priest (The church is way up above this
house). He wants you to bust up some barrels, so do so. After the little
scene, exit the church and head on left.

Uh oh, time to rescue the damsel in distress *cough*. Go on left after the
explosion, and keep going left until a cut scene. Once you regain control,
Go on out right (remember a treasure chest here for later), and keep going
right through the ghost town until you reach that giant statue.

After the cut scene, it's back to the living land, and your first objective
is to go to the church. It's a series of fights, so follow what the priest
says to beat up the skeletors. After that, free the citizens, and you
have a new objective. We gotta head to Santa Luchita, remember that stairs
going up near the Pueblucho entrance? Go there. Talk to the priest first
for some health if you are low.

When you leave the church though, there's a little quick sidequest for us.
Talk to the sombrero guy just outside the church, and you'll want to go to
his house (it's Casa Del Pollo), and punch the chickens towards the caged
pen. For the chickens at the very bottom, punch them up until the GRAB
button appears, then grab and press up on the D-pad to send them flying up.
Go back out and your reward is a heart piece (heh). Now onto Santa Luchita!

______________________
[2.2] FOREST DEL CHIVO
______________________
At that forest sign, is a dealer. So that's what our money is for. Might not
have enough, so just remember here for later. Now through the forest! And
there will be some skeletors, the usual grunts plus a new guy, a bone thrower.
Do make use of grab and throw to other skeletors, and that will save you some
heartache.

Oh, further right is a pantherman. He'll drop you down, so I'll head left
first for a gold chest with a skull item. Then going right is an area with
some skeletors, and a chest we can't get yet, so down jump down to the lower
level, and follow the onscreen tips on how to deal with these red spike
things. Continue going right, follow what the chicken says to roll through
the red vines, then go further right. You'll come to an area where there's a
pit with a red vine coming out of it, use jump + roll button in midair to dash
through the red vine, then head up up and left through the red vine to the
next area, which is a big skeletor fight! They come in waves, first a small
amount, then more as you beat up more, until you beat them all, then you
can proceed, first punch the giant pinata prize, then go left and up up.

When you see the shop, go on right and keep going right through the red vines
and further right and down the red blocks until you see a Metroid Chozodia
sttatue (lol), punch it and you've got a new move! Upper cut! And it makes
you jump higher, (though you can't go back to that chest earlier), but first
go into the house here and bust the chest for some monies. Then jump up to
the right and pound that brick and go further up-right for a chest with a
heart piece!

Now go back to that store earlier, go left and uppercut the red brick up and
go up. From here, go left for 2 skeletors and a chest of money, then head
back right and up them stairs, and to the next area, that has an amusing
puzzle. You gotta upper cut up, and in front of the vine, roll and in mid-
air uppercut and you go up on where the red brick was. Do the same for the
next red brick in your way, and further right to the next area.

2 skeletors here, and then the next area has a mini group fight, new plant
guys on the ground, you can upper cut them when they start to bite you
or you can punch and punch until you can grab and then throw them up. Last
group of bad guys will be 2 throwing skeletors, and once beaten punch the
giant pinata again. Going further right is an area with plants plus throwing
skeletors, beat them up then go up and right.

Ah, a store. Go further right to have a giant brawl with a group of grunt
skeletors. They will be in a bunch, so utilize throwing moves to the max.
Go on right and right and welcome to Santa Luchita!

___________________
[2.3] SANTA LUCHITA
___________________

Time for some hero work! But first head right into the "Viva Pinatas!" house,
and punch the pinata. Next head on right and go up once you see a flight of
stairs, and go up until you see a house called "Super Siesta", go into the
lower opened door for a chest of money. Exit and go further right until
you see some kids pokemon fighting, and drop down from underneath them to
punch a golden chest.

That's all we can do for now, so head up and left to the objective. Oops,
gotta do some training at the Chicken Gym. It's a series of combo's, so
you have to follow the onscreen commands in order to finish it. I highly
recommend an Xbox 360 controller for this. Afterward, we can go back to
the objective, so onto the Temple of Rain! Just keep going left until a
scene with an Olmec head, keep him in mind then proceed left. In the next
area, go up the stairs and take note of the chest up to the left, and
proceed right until you see a person, talk to him and then go further right
and you'll see a warpy thing up, jump up the platforms to go into the warp
and enter the underworld. Now we can get that chest we passed earlier
(heart piece).
____________________
[2.4] TEMPLE OF RAIN
____________________

Now go back right and into the temple, and going inside
you will be greeted by several grunts and 1 throwing skeletor. Do combo them
up, and go further right into.... a boss fight!

Well shucks, we ain't fighting the senorita. We gotta deal with little ones
instead. They will teleport in, so beat them up as much as you can, and try to
stay in the middle, once a teleport hole opens in the middle, do a rooster
uppercut, and you will combo the flood of guys pouring out. Easy!

Go on right and into the warpy. Back in the real world, go more right and into
another warpy. Now in the underworld, go on further right and... into
another warpy. Gosh, jump over this warp in front of you, and right, ignore
that warp up top and go further right. Fun puzzle time! Uppercut jump up into
the first warp above you, and in the other world, run and jump up into the
warp in front of you, and while in midair in the otherworld, uppercut jump
up onto the platform, and voila! Enter the warp for the skull piece chest.
Go back up and into the warp below to enter the real world, and go back left
into the area earlier, and jump into the warp to enter the underworld, and
jump up on the above platforms and into the next area.

So there will be a store, and a door beside it. To the left is a warp. That
door leads to a giant boss looking thing, so I'm not going to jump the gun
too early, so let's do something else. Jump into that warp to the left, and
enter the door that shows up. Go left, and long jump onto the platform. Run
and jump at the edge of the platform, into the warp and once you change worlds
immediately uppercut, and that should bring you up. Up there is a grunt and
speedy gonzales skeletor, beat them up, and you'll see two warps up top, you
have to jump diagonally inbetween them to go up without changing worlds, and
once up there, is a store, with two ways left and right.

Go left first, and you'll see a long path with a warp at the end. NEaring the
warp triggers a fight with a bunch of throwing skeletors, to beat them, you
have to jump into each warp you see, that will lower the skeletors into the
fire, and you get all their money once they dead :D

Once the way is open again, go left for treasure chest galore! Well, like
always, some are skeletor traps, some have money, so be wary each chest you
break. Now go up and left to....a boss fight! This guy may be big, but he's
rather easy. Just jump and combo like you did in the Combo Chicken Gym, and
once he's beaten, regular skeletors will show up. If you don't want to fuss
with the shadow skeletors, just jump into the warp to change worlds, revealing
them. Now drop down the newly open floorboard to the right, and it's a
Chozodia statue! The Olmec Headbutt, the goat says it can only be used while
standing, but is that true?

Headbutt the yellow brick to the right, and you will enter a part with a store
and *gasp* a yellow brick above a platform with nowhere to step. Can't use
headbutt while moving, eh? All you gotta do is go close to the yellow
brick, jump normally and mid-jump, do the headbutt. Funny isn't it... same
thing in the next part, a yellow brick way up, do a rooster uppercut and then
headbutt mid-air. Going right triggers a world change, and another puzzle.
you need to Roll + uppercut, which should partially trigger the warp and
activate the upper platform so that you can go on it. Back to where we
started. Let's finish this place, so like earlier, jump up onto the platform,
jump onto the warp and uppercut, beat the skeletors, jump diagonally up, and
up at the store, go right instead, and beat up the arma's, and further right
is a skull chest. Now go back to the last place we beat up a yellow brick.

Trigger the warp, and go through the door. Let's go to the warp again and
through the door that appears beside the store. Bust through the red block
and go up up up. Go left to trigger a fight, if you recall the earlier fight,
just jump into the warps to change worlds revealing the shadow skeletors.
Once they are beaten, go left to another fight, this time with armadillos.
You have to do that world change in case you see a shadow arma, but with
some fun you can make it quick by using your headbutt as much as you can.

So proceed left, pass the red vines, dropping down and we are back to the big
doggy thing. Climb up on its back and on its head and through a platform
above it. Go on left and it's chozodia time! Bust the statue for a new move,
which is actually an ability more than a move. Wall jumping now enabled, go
back to the doggy room and remember that part to the left that we cannot jump?
Now we can.

Oh no, the doggy left. Go left and that chicken will just tell you about the
wall jumping. Jump up and to the left is a puzzle. You need to jump onto the
wall, wall jump up into the warp, and do this back and forth until you reached
the platform to the left. Go through that door, and back to the place with a
store and world changing doors. Now we can jump up to where the arrow is
pointing up, go up up until you see a warp to the right and an open part to
the left. Can't go right for now, so go left and wall jump up.

Ignore the up part and continue going right, there's a store, further right is
an Olmec Statue, so go close and talk to him to activate him. Now go back to
that part with an opening above, and uppercut-walljump up there. Go right and
more wall jumping up. Some arma bad guys here, and flowers, beat them up and
continue left, and another puzzle. Trigger the warp above to go to the
underworld, and you need to stand above the warp below the platform, drop down
and immediately uppercut jump onto the real-world platform. Go left.

A store, and more warps. Wall jump up into endless warps, and once up, go
left and it's puzzle time. Use the warp to switch to the underworld if it
isn't already, then you jump and grab the wall to the left, slide a little
down until you can jump higher while also triggering the warp, in the real-
world, jump as high as you can left to grab the wall above the warp, and keep
jumping above these warps as you go left, until you can finally go up to
the upper left platform.

Go left to more skeletors and small guys. Beat them up, then headbutt the
yellow brick to go right, and find a heart piece chest. Going right is just a
red brick, break it for insurance, then go back left and up the floorboard
where you were fighting the skeletors and small guys earlier.

And it's senorita! Too bad she'll leave again, and leave you to fight a bunch
of various badd guys. Make it fun by headbutting, which will launch bad guys
into each other, giving you some space. Keep an eye out for a bunch of
armadillo's that will warp in, after them will be the big skeletor boss, so
remember to attack his heart area, and once he and all enemies are beaten,
pop the pinata and proceed left.

Break the barrel, then wall jump up, and right, and headbutt the yellow brick,
Oh, a chest to the left, with a warp blocking the way. Remember to long
jump while standing on the first small platform to get the chest, then beat
up the giant skeletor. Going up will be two arma's, one in the other world,
so switch worlds to beat both. Switch to the shadow world to jump to the
platform on the left, and jump right into the warp and uppercut to jump up
to that platform, And then jump and uppercut jump into the warp to the left
and up to the upper platform. Now there's a pit of ninja turtle ooze, stand on
the upper small platform, long jump right and uppercut while warping to land
on the other platform, then do a long jump uppercut jump to the right where
the stairs are.

Climb up those stairs, and you'll see some barrels and a store. Bust the
barrels and go up up up. Go to the real world if it isn't already, and
after the scene, you gotta run from the doggy fish. It won't stop, but
there's plenty of time for you to make your way through, ignopre the bad
guys, they're not worth it, and reach the golden axe at the end to drop
Bowser I mean the doggy fish. After the scene with the senorita, drop into
the little hole in the ground (don't leap off the temple), and you will
drop into a room of chests! Now follow and break the yellow brick road (lol),
then you will eventually drop into the Olmec head, so warp back to Santa
Luchita.

_____________
SANTA LUCHITA part2
_____________
(It seems I spent way too much time in the Temple of Rain lol. I think I
also broke the sequence somewhere there, so from now on I'll try to be more
streamlined and go into the first door I see, not the one yonder :P)

You can head to combo chickens gym, the neon sign will flash if there's
something new for you. Your objective though, is at the bar to the far right.
After a scene with Ghostrider, go further right and drop down the floorboard
for a powerup statue! The Frog Slam, use it on the green block blocking
your way, and make your way through this basement, there's one floorboard
on the way that leads to a money chest, break then proceed out of this
basement. Now let's go to the Desert.

_______________________
[2.5] DESIERTO CALIENTE
_______________________

So go on up top of Santa Luchita, and going right is to the Desert, there's
enemies here by the way. Once you see green bricks on the ground, that's the
way to the next area, so Frog em.

Ah, a new enemy. The Cacturne :P the one thing you'll need to do is grab the
green grenades (the grab button) and throw em back. Poor Juan doesn't have a
gun :D anyways, once they're beaten, go on through this desert, beating up
some money dropping enemies, until you see another green brick on the ground,
Frog through it and drop down the platforms.

There's a store here, and further right will be a closed fight. Frog slam the
ground to do some weed whacking :D once they are beaten, go further right,
bust through and jump up up and up. Once outside, jump up on the left and keep
going until you see a heart piece chest.

Now go back right and beat up some baddies if you want, keep going until you
again see a green brick on the ground. Frog through it and drop down. A
store is here, then go further right to an amusing puzzle. It's frog slam
followed closely by the rooster uppercut. And then there's a yellow brick lol.

And then there's a green brick, a yellow brick, and a red brick. They are
trying to train you, get those colors in your head, because once you jump up
past the red brick, is a closed fight with new fighting techniques we gotta
master. Enemies will have shields, in a particular color. Like green, to break
those shields, you gotta frog slam em. Keep this in mind for shielded enemies,
red = uppercut, yellow = headbutt, green = frog slam. Beat them up then exit.

Head up past the store, going right until you see another green block. Frog
through it and another fight ensues. You should remember the previous fight
by now, so do your stuff. Once that's done, go on through and watch the scene.

haha, El Polluchador! I'm sure you noticed those small openings in the walls
around here, that's how you access them, as a chicken. Might want to get a
hang of this new body, because it takes skill to go around as a chicken, and
from here on I'll be telling you what to do, how you do it depends on your
skill alone.

Now exit left, past the store and hop up onto the platforms, when you see the
red ceiling spikes, just run to the next platform. No jumping, as you can
see the chicken can sort of glide. Keep going through small openings,
avoiding enemies as much as possible, until you drop into a place with two
red gears on the wall, for this part you gotta avoid the armadillo's and
entice them to run into the red gears, it's the only way to be sure ;)

Once the arma's are dead, go through the newly opened opening and peck the
chest, then continue left through any small opening you see, until you come
across a place with red spikey vines. This part takes skill, how to get
through, you can see it, but how you do it, I can only hope you did.

Ah, before you get to the far left, you'll see two openings, one on top,
and one below, go to the bottom one first, then come back here to go to the
top opening. Venture further left, until you run into a closed fight, ha you
have to fight as a chicken. Just use the attack button, it may be a little
tough but it's doable :P Once done, go on left to a vertical maze of flower
bad guys. Assuming you got a lot of health, you can make a run for it, or
take your sweet time timing the flowers and avoiding them.

Go further left until you see a purple chicken. After the scene, go into
human form, uppercut up to where the chicken is, then chicken back, through
the small tunnel then humanize and uppercut out of there.

_______________________
[2.6] Back to Pueblucho
_______________________

Like, get out of the desert and we gotta go to Pueblucho. Go to Santa Luchita,
and from there to the Forest Del Chivo, on the way you'll need to beat up some
baddies.

Once at Pueblucho, look for a solo house (it's got a chimney on top) and go
inside and frog the green block. Ah, the senorita! Poor girl just needs some
lovin'. Too bad we gotta fight her first. For round one, she'll be shooting
stuff and switching worlds. Do remember your combo chicken gym training and
keep comboing her in the air like you did in the gym, and don't try to be a
macho man by taking some hits too, so dodge whenever possible.

Once you push her to the limit, she's start cloning her self into colorful
versions. Uh-huh, shield time, so use the appropriate move on the color.
You should also notice how one of them looks different than the others,
that's the one you need to keep attacking. Once she's beaten, you've got a
new ability, so leave on to the next objective! See ya again, Senorita :D
Ah, don't forget to use the world switching ability to get some chests on
your way out.

_______________________
[2.7] TULE TREE
_______________________
Now we can switch worlds at ease, eh? Finally. Gotta go to the Tree, which
is inside the Forest Del Chivo. Do you remember the big chicken that told
us about rolling through the thorny red vines? It's at the end of there,
and you gotta world switch/chicken through the small openings and on to
the Tuley Tree!

Talk to the Olmec head to activate him (You have been doing this, right?),
and then head into the tree. You will be greeted with shiny invisible
platforms and regular platforms. You should see how to jump up on these
platforms, and you have to world switch while doing so. While bones are
dropping on you. That thing I said about skills? Hope you don't go nuts
trying to jump-world-switch-jump-dodge etc :D

Those bones are coming from the red skeletors, so beat them up and jump up
as you go up, until you jump through a platform, and it's more world
switching jumping time. Again, it will take some doing, so by now your
skills should be good enough to get through here. Keep jumping-world
switching until you see a door, and head on outside.

More platforms to jump, and more world switching to do. Going further right
will be a bigger skeletor, and a colored shield, dispatch him then jump up
on those platforms, world switching if you want, then go left and into a
closed fight. Flyers and plants, what a way to keep switching skills. And
you gotta world switch too, so deal with them. Then, go through the door.

Ah, there's another door. If you aren't already insane from all the world
switching jumping, at the end of this room is a way to a heart chest.
Otherwise, jump up onto the upper platform, and go further up, and more
world switching jumps. Best way to do this is to wall jump on the right
onto the right platform. Now uppercut jump world switch to the left upper
platform, uppercut jump to the left upper platform, then uppercut jump
world switch to the right platform. Go up past that floor. This next puzzle
is easier, in the real world, just wall jump uppercut to the right upper
platform, and through the floor.

There's a door, store and another door above, the lower door is the only one
you can go through for now. Go through, and further right, and meet a
line of real world and underworld platforms. If you aren't insane yet, you
gotta run and world switch as you go. It might look ridiculous, but it's
actually kind of fun >__> At the end of these platforms, is a way further
right to a chest, if you are up for it, go for it, otherwise it's up and
chicken mode through the small opening.

And you run into a closed fight. There's these floaty round guys, and you will
notice a timer atop their heads, dispatch them before this timer runs out!
These guys are a priority, so focus on them. Once beaten, there's more
world switching and jumping to do, so try not to throw your controller half
way across the room :P

Go on left and through the door. Jump up on the right for a new powerup! Now
we can... double jump lol. Do you know how hard our life just got? Now we
have to remember double jumping when world switching lol... anyways, use
your newfound double jump to get out of here, and back where the door is, and
go on up left to where the green block is, and frog it.

More world switching, but this time as a chicken lol. Go on through and drop
onto a platform, DO NOT drop right, go to the door on the left and outside.
Jump the platforms, and get ready for some wall double jumping. At the top
of that area, you can go left if you dare (lol), or world switch and jump
where the red spikey walls are to progress the story. Up there is a closed
off fight, and more time ticking round balls. Ya know what to do ;)

Right is to the objective, and I hope you didn't get tired of these jump-
world switching, because it's not going to end XD Make your way through
jumping and switching worlds, through a door and up the platforms, watch
out for the skeletors. Upper left to a door is your destination, and going
further you'll see a chozodia statue... on his back lol. But there's nothing!
What? IS this one of those cases where if you didn't get the double jump
earlier, it's here? /jk Go on up left and leave this silly tree >__<

_______________________
[2.8] TEMPLE OF WAR
_______________________
Temple of war or war temple. Heh, hope you've been buying some of the moves
from the store. Going into a place with the name "war" in it, you'll need
to wage war alright. Out of the tree, go up and right to the temple.

Now go into the temple, and do note the differences between the real world and
the underworld. Staying in the real world is as good as it gets, as that fire
hurts. Well, wouldn't hurt dunking a few baddies into there :P Hope you didn't
break your controller yet, because there's more jumping-world-switching to do,
those pillars blocking your way, you know how it is, jump, in midair world-
switch and once passed the pillar world switch while in midair to go back to
the real world, and again for the second pillar. Keep an eye out for shield
guys further right. Where these shield guys were is an opening up top, if you
can double jump uppercut up, it's a money chest, otherwise proceed right.

It's going to be a closed fight, and this time, you have to combo these guys
to beat them ~__~ Hey, you're near the end of the game, might as well make it
harder, right? :P Oh yeah, beating these first grunts will trigger the triple
blade guy, make serious use of dodge + attack, and if that wasn't hard enough,
they'll give 2 white aura blade guys to play with. OUCH.

Go on right after you're done with them, and break the colored blocks and
proceed. Go to the underworld, and you'll see ze chicken, it'll tell you
about those moving walls. Use the wall jump's hang to stay on the moving
part as it goes up, and you need to do some world switching to proceed
further up, and go right onto the platform and further right.

You can go past these enemies, or beat them, your choice. Go further right
then up a floor platform, and you'll see some bad guys and moving rotating
pillars to the left. To the far right is a floor platform, and dropping
through it leads to a chest. Now about these rotating pillars, it might look
like you just need to wall hang onto them, but you actually need to first
jump onto the right side of a pillar, once it rises and starts to move left,
jump off it onto the next pillar to the right so that you end up on the left
side of the moving pillar. Then it will move to a part where you have to wall
jump around to the top.

Go on right and chicken into the opening, and you'll run into a closed off
fight. You know how to deal with those colored shields/aura's, then proceed
right and through the green blocks. Chicken into the opening and go through
the maze. Go further right past the store and you'll run into a place with
rising pillars to the left. You gotta jump on the moving pillars, jump right
to avoid the red barb, jump above the red barb back to the moving pillar, then
at the top, jump right, double jump and world switch while uppercutting. Whew.

Oh, it's not over yet! In the next area, is more moving pillars! And world
switching as well, you're goal is to jump onto the rising pillar to the right,
and alternate jumping to the left pillar, and right pillar, while world-
switching to clear the walls blocking your way. Up to the right we go, and
there's this single shiny pillar going up. To the top left is the objective,
and what you need to do is jump hang onto the right side of this pillar, and
double jump upwards and fall back onto the pillar, doing this repeatedly will
get you up top in no time, then once you are onto the wall on the right, you
world switch and jump onto the left ledge.

Further left is a fight against a new guy, Hammer Down. Just beat him up while
avoiding his hammer strikes. And then more enemies will come! Surely your
anger must be at its peak after all that world switching jumping we've been
doing XD. Beat them, then head left and past the store is Mr Olmec.

Talk to Olmy, then head up. There's a lot more jumping fun now! Go chicken
then go to the right side of this place. Now basically you have to wall jump
onto the moving walls on the sides that are closest to the moving wall, for
example here we are on the right side because this wall doesn't move much
to the left. Have fun, because you have to climb way up there like this. Once
at the top, head right and you'll see a greenish lantern, go up there.

Go right and drop down to meet ghostrider! Guy can't keep his bullets in check
lol. So you have to fight a giant skeletor and little skeletors. Once they
are beaten, go on right for some blue block busting power! And another skill
to use after all that wall double rooster frogging jumping we've been doing
lol. So go on left and dash through the blue!

And keep dashing through the blue blocks, until you are back at those moving
walls, and drop down just this moving wall, and then go left. Dash on through,
then drop down and keep going left until... a closed fight! I have to say,
these guys are like Magikarp on crack, and that timer! Beat up all these
enemies with your newfound power (heh), then continue left and up the
platforms. Now there's a blue block, and an opening right. To the right is
simply a treasure chest guarded by those Magikarp timers. LEft is where you
want to go, so blue those blocks and continue left, until you get to a 2 way
area. The top leads to a ridiculous puzzle to a chest, and below is to the
objective. Go down and left, past the red vine in the way, and go up.

Maddening ass puzzle right here. It's as plain as day as to how to get up
there, but you need ANGRY skills to go up there. Basically they want you
to jump double jump uppercut Blue Dash while world switching going left and
right till you reach the top. Please meditate before doing this segment lol.
Then world switch as you cross the lava waters, and plow further left.

Get the chest, then bust through the blue blocks going left, and you can
pop the skeletors if you want. That bigger blue block in the wall is the
objective. Go further left, past the lava waters and go up past the store.
Fun time. You'll be on a moving platform, and you gotta dodge obstacles
and red vines! All while the elevator rises! Hope your controller isn't
broken by now, because it's a doozy. Once you get to the top, jump above
the floor platform and go left.

CLOBBERIN TIME! Oh wait, that wasn't Johnny the Flame On guy... so now we
get to fight ghostrider. He's going to be shooting and Flame Wheeling, so
dodge those attacks whenever possible. It's crucial to dodge, as the best
way to beat this guy is via special moves. I'm serious, use your racist color
moves, and you should have more fun than gloom. Oh, you gotta be on the look
out for the need to switch worlds, as lava comes down sometimes, and some
grunts will be in the other world.

Hope that wasn't too hard, once you beat him, go left and drop down, to some
chests and a power up! Greatest Of All Time climb :p Ahem, now you can run
the walls. And you go left and up that wall and out of here. Funny, you have
to primarily use the Goat Climb to get out of here, when you are mainly
going down >__> It's pretty straight forward, so get on out and to the
Deserto.

_______________________
[2.9] SIERRA MORENA
_______________________

Now, give your map a looksie and make your way to Santa Luchita. You remember
the Temple of Rain? You gotta head over there, and before the Temple of Rain
were these set of stairs and a wall, we gotta goat climb up that wall. Now
before you go there, there might be some things you want to do, maybe brawl
through this Deserto earning money for some moves. You're gonna need health
and Stamina, because Sierra Morena is no joke.

Once you've done you're stuff and headed to Santa Luchita, go upper left
towards the Temple of Rain, but instead of going to the temple, head up and
up the wall to the Sierra. Let me give you a little run down of the entire
Sierra Morena first so that you don't waste time: this is basically you
starting at the left, and going right to the end. Meaning this level is
basically left to right, if you think you got lost, just remember: you need
to be going right. Now that we got that, let's see what's inside the Sierra.

You will first meet speedy gonzales's and bone throwers, ah well if you were
grinding money elsewhere you can forget these guys. Once you pass/beat them,
make your way up and right and... aha, it's the thundercat! Yeah, anytime
someone tells you no, don't follow, you just know there's a pot o gold at
the end of that rainbow. After the scene, go right and.... a huge chasm!
How to get through? It's actually kind of easy :P From the left of this
platform, jump at the edge, by the time you are halfway and STARTING to drop,
double jump, uppercut and dash punch. Not so hard, eh?

Go on right, down and past a store (buy if you've got money!), and head right.
No way to go up, you have to go right and into a closed fight with arma's
and cactuses, some in the real world and underworld. I recommend taking care
of one world at a time, and once the cactuses and arma's are done, bone
throwers will spawn on top, and flower guys at the bottom. I say head up top
and deal with the skeletors, and then finish the flower guys (frog slam em).

Once that fight is done, there's an opening right, and an opening above.
Unless you've got some way to fly over there (hint hint), the right
opening is not accessible (it's a long flight). So go on up and into another
closed fight with the dragon dudes. It's just them in a couple of waves, both
real world and underworld, so combo them up. Now head left, next area jump up
and go right, past a store, and further right until the next area.

There will be a pillar in mid-air blocking your way. You can either hold onto
the wall, Goat climb off it to launch you right, guiding Juan near the
platform, and then double jump uppercut onto there, or you can goat climb
on the side facing you, over the pillar and hold onto the other side of the
pillar, double jump on over right. From that platform, drop down-right and
double jump uppercut onto the next platform, and then you'll see read vines
blocking your way. There are 3 vines, in different worlds, the pattern is
underworld vine, real world vine, underworld vine. When you goat climb up
through these vines, remember the pattern. Then head right, down and right
onto a platform.

Now for the doozy of a skills overload. You'll see a platform, two vines, on
top and on bottom, and the platform beside it, your job is to jump inbetween
the red vines to get to the other platform. There's 3 of these to pass through
and they are separated by an extra distance as you get to each platform. For
the first platform, you just need to normal jump + dash punch through the red
vines. For the second row of vines, you need to jump + double jump and once
Juan is in the middle of the red vines do a dash punch. The last set of red
vines is nasty: You need to jump + double jump + dash punch and then uppercut
onto the platform sticking out.

Now head a little right, down a path with some bone throwers on the other
side. Make your way all the way down, world switch if there's a wall blocking
your way, then goat climb up the wall to bash the bone throwers. Then head
right and to the next area, that has a store and platforms to go up. There be
dragon dudes here, and very tiny platforms. I say ignore the dragons because
it can get annoying trying to fight off the tiny platforms. Once you head up
all the way, is a store, and a place to go left or right. Go left is the
destination.

And it's a closed fight with the suicide bomber balls. And with the white
shield that you have to hit consecutively several times. And they spawn
on the other side of that pillar with a deadly red bush on the top, hope
your gaming skills haven't rusted. After that wave of bomber balls, is a
set of 2 grunt skeletors and 2 bone throwers. Killing 2 of these 4 will
spawn a bomber ball. As time goes on, a bomber ball will spawn if the
skeletors aren't dealt with, so kill the skeletors and the fight is over!

Further left is that silly puzzle where you have to run up the side of the
pillar, jump over the spikes and onto the next pillar. But there's only 3
pillars, so heh. Once you make it over, all the way left, is a powerup!
GOAT FLYYYYYY. Now he can fly like superman. They should have given Juan a
cape, and then before each closed fight he'll take it off in grand fashion :D

Anyways, use your newfound goat fly on the wall and flay out of here. Go on
back to that place with the store, and go right instead. Now you get to fly
off into the sunset across this long chasm. Once you get to the other side,
go right and up more platforms (they should have let you fly vertically), up
top will be a store and a ramp going up right, so go up the ramp. Here's
another place to fly to, so jump up on the wall and fly right. If you want to
access a secret area, don't jump up on the wall, but instead jump down onto
the lower wall, and fly right. At the other side, climb up the wall and make
your way up (it's easy). When you make your way out left through the chicken
path, you'll find yourself at a way to eithe goat climb up, or down a ramp
left, if you want to access another secret area, go down this ramp, onto a
place with cat statues outside, go right and down once, to where two cat
statues are inside. Grab onto the wall here slightly above the ground, and
fly left all the way across where you first came, to the secret area. After
that is done, come back to where you were with that chicken path, and the
wall to goat climb up. Ah, you can take that secret path through the
chicken path, but if you take the normal way, to where you dropped down
that ramp where the two cat statues outside are, then you'll have to grab
onto that wall, goat fly left, goat climb up and then onto the wall and
goat fly right.

Goat climb up and you'll see a store. Then go right and grab onto the only
flat wall, and goat fly right. Now, there will be cat statues in your way
both in the under world and the real world, I can't remember how many
there were but it happens so fast, just, I don't know, play this game on
the biggest screen you have, trust me that helps XD it's a simple pattern
of underworld-real world, underworld - real world, etc. Once you make it
to the other side, the thunderkitty is there and he'll run off. Follow
him for the fight of your life!

JAGUAR JAVIER

This is one bad, bad kitty. He's fast, and it all hurts so much, make it stop.
Thunderkitty not only has colored shields, but some really painful moves:

-Screw Attack: You know like Samus in Metroid Fusion? It's a spinning jump
he does about a few inches off the ground, you can dodge if you didn't time
the appropriate move for the color of the shield he has. There is almost 1
second for his activation time, so you can see it coming (he squats).

-Hammer Smash: He has about a split second activation time, he'll throw his
club backwards for a split second and smash the ground. Either fight
whatever shield he has when he does this, or don't be in front of him.

-Dash Attack: Hey, the kitty has his own dash attack! It has about a split
second activation time, he'll pose like he's going to run, and he'll turn
into a solid red color. Avoid this attack like the plague.

-Pillar of Fire: IF you hang around him really close, he sometimes does
this. It's also about a split second activation time, he will throw his
arms up and then make a roar, this is a vertical pillar of fire that also
has a bit of range around him, do run away when he does this.

So what kind of strategy do I have for you? Eh... I hope your fast? Seriously,
what's hard is the type of shield he as, timing the hit means you have to get
close to him, and his agenda is to close the distance between you and him, so
many times you both will be clashing face to face. Not to mention he regularly
switches between the real world and the underworld, if you've been hitting the
combo chicken gym, that would really help because it may take a while, but the
simplest solution is to break his shield, then combo him up and keep him in
the air, repeat this and it'll be fine. Oh, if it get's really frustrating,
headbutting him ALWAYS sends him flying, so when he has a yellow shield, have
fun with that move. I think it's possible to successfully keep him in the air
by headbutting him continuously, the trick is to have full stamina, headbutt
him then grab onto the wall, fly to the other side while he's still tumbling,
headbutt, rinse repeat :D

And once you beat him, I congratulate you! I don't call him thunderkitty for
nothing :P let him lick his wounds, or you can keep kicking him :D Ahem, head
further right, talk to the goaty one, And if you haven't gotten most of the
store items yet, maybe it's time to use the Olmec head here to go back to
places you missed, I mean you can fly now, surely there's a lot more heart
pieces out there. Seriously, I suggest going back to build up health and
stamina, because the Great Temple isn't called "Great" for nothing.

_______________________
[2.10] GREAT TEMPLE
_______________________

Temple of Rain, War and Great, might as well have had Temple of Pueblucho,
Temple Sierra, etc :P Okay, from the Olmec head at the Sierra, go right until
you see a flat wall to goat fly off of, and go fly. This will send you
straight into the mouth of the Great Temple.

Pass the store, and all the way right is the big hammer skeletor! If you were
slow running to him, he'd have smashed you already. You can kill him, or
bypass him, I mean, if you spent all your money buying everything before
entering the Great Temple, there's no point in beating him, right? :P But
going up activates a closed fight with two speedy gonzales's with WHITE
shields. Man, not only are they fast, but they have the shield that's white
>____> But you beat Javier! They are childs play now, right? Oh, no way jose.
Once you beat these 2 clowns, 3 more gonzales's will spawn, I don't know if
the shield colors are random but they were red, yellow and blue. Hey, remember
what I said about headbutting? Just headbutt these guys around, so long as
your stamina lasts anyways. You'll get the yellow guy soon enough and grab
him when you can and throw him at the other two. Of course you can dash punch
too if you want, but them 3 are it, and once you beat them, left is a health
room full of barrels, up is where you want to go.

You gotta goat climb up this thin corridor, but somewhere on the right, switch
to the shadow world, and there will be an opening in the wall to a secret
area with a chest, it may look like a doozy, but to get there is rather
simple: that platform sticking out is one you can drop down, drop down and
grab onto the wall, go as down as you can, and goat fly to the right wall
sticking out of the poison goo. Go as low as you can, and goat climb to launch
yourself up and at the top of your jump, do a double jump uppercut dash punch
to get to the chest. To get out of here, goat fly left, drop and grab onto
the wall sticking out of the goo, and back the way you came.

Now, goat climb up the rest of this thin corridor. If you are on the right
side, you will go all the way up. I suggest going on the left side of this
corridor, so that you will come up on the platform and be ready for the
closed fight here, which is two swordy skeletors, 1 in either world.
Remember how much I love mentioning the headbutt? All you gotta do is
headbutt them to the left, they will insta-die. Killing one will spawn
Armadillo's, who are also yellow shielded. Actually, everyone in this closed
fight has yellow shields, so I cannot stress enough: headbutt them left.
Killing at least 1 Arma will spawn grunt skeletors, killing at least 1 of
them will spawn hammer skeletors. Headbutt headbutt. That headbutt is such
a powerful move. Don't forget you can jump straight up and headbutt in midair
too.

Once they are done, goat climb the rest of the way up, and you'll come to
a giant pit of poison goo. There's a wall on the right, grab onto the highest
flat part, which you can do by goat climb up the wall, and grab onto the wall
as you fall, now goat fly left and when you see a platform above you,
interrupt the goat fly by pressing the jump button and then uppercut, and
voila you are on top. There will be a store on the left, and a chicken path
to the right, ignore that and jump up to the platform and through the ceiling.

Now there's a chicken path. Jump into there and chicken through, and you will
come to a maze like path, do take a good look at it, and remember that the
chicken cannot jump certain heights, and plan your path according to the
shortest jumps possible. Or take a picture with your phone, everyone has a
cameraphone now right? At the end of this maze is a chest, so chicken on out
of here and go back through the ceiling where you first went through as a
chicken.

Switch worlds to access that orange warp, which will bring you up top, and
switch worlds again to orange warp down, and head left and up the platform.
You'll see 2 orange warps and 2 blue warps, what you gotta do is grab onto
the wall on the right, goat fly left into an orange warp, which will warp you
to the middle warps flying left, warp again to be at the topmost warp
flying left, and before you crash onto the wall, mash the jump button to get
on the upper platform.

There will be an armadillo and a swordy guy, it's not a closed fight so you
can pass them, further left of them are flower guys in the ground, I say
just get out of here as quick as you can, and farther left is a path up.
Through the ceiling, is a cactus dude, heh. You will have to take care of
them, because YOU SHALL NOT PASS. Anyways, head further left in the next
area is an interesting puzzle. A vertical row of pillars both in the real
world and underworld, goat climb up them while switching worlds to create your
path up. Fun stuff actually. Busting through the block reveals a chest and a
store.

Go right, and you'll see some bone throwers. But trying to go up reveals a
closed fight! Frog them flower guys, while keeping watch of flying bones.
Killing at least one will spawn 2 arma's, so deal with them too. That will
be all, so kill them bone throwers for great justice. Head right and you'll
see a store, go further right past it and you will see two platforms for you
to drop down on, that way is just to a chest, so if you need money, proceed.

Go down there, and head left into.....a closed fight with the tiny guys!
With shields! Including white shields! Just stand in their midst and
headbutt, it's funny seeing them fly off a bunch at a time. Of course

you'll have to eventually use the correct move, but beating some of them will
spawn additional tiny guys :P just combo them up, and once they dead, head
left to the chest.

Go back right and up, and then go right, and meet a new puzzle. Basically you
need to switch to the underworld, grab onto the pillar, go as low as you
can, and goat climb up into the warp so that it will warp and launch you
to the other warp, and double jump up through the ceiling, uppercut if you
must (double jump worked for me). The next area has yet more warp fun, this
time you need to drop down into the warp and hold left and jump to grab onto
the wall (I faced left, dropped into warp and dash punched which moved me
towards the wall and I grabbed onto it.) Goat climb up and switch worlds to
bring up the two pillars at the right. The trick here is to goat climb up,
switch worlds to remove the pillars, move right while falling, switch worlds
to bring the pillars back, and grab onto the second pillar. You are most
likely on the left side of the 2nd pillar, goat climb to the top, and switch
worlds to move right and switch worlds to bring back the pillars so you can
grab the right side of the 2nd pillar. Then goat climb up and to the right.

In the next area, make your way down, and switch worlds to bring up the warp.
This will bring you to the next area. Go on down, and go right, then down into
a fight with ELECTRO SKELETORS. The white lightning kills! Dodging through
them works, but the slightest touch is a knock back, making it harder to
recover. Once you dropped down, go immediately left to attack the first guy,
if he stands on his white lightning you would have to use the upper platforms
just to have a shot at them. Or you can have fun like I do, if they stand on
their white lightning, just jump straight up and headbutt in midair, it will
send them flyyyying. Killing both of them spawns bone throwers with yellow
shields, and a 3rd electro skeletor. Those will be all the baddies, so beat
them. Once they're done in, heading left creates shortcuts down to where
you were near the beginning, and there is also a secret area behind a yellow
block to a chest. It's blocked by just red vines, you need to grab onto the
wall above, goat climb up, then goat fly right but before you hit the red
vines, interrupt your goat fly with the dodge button, and that should have
you drop onto the wall all the way to the right. Get the chest then head
back to the electro skeletors, then head right this time fro mthe electro
skeletor room.

And you run into a large room full of tiny guys and speedy gonzales's, I got
a fun combo for you to use: Dash punch + headbutt, anyone who survived the
punch will get launched by the headbutt. If you want to recklessly deal with
these guys for the money, then dodge + dash punch, that'll show those speedy
gonzales's >:D Oh, there's also a hammer guy and a regular grunt skeletor.
If you beat them or skipped them, head further right to the next area, with
a store and tiny platforms to jump up. Aside from one large platform, they
are all tiny, so go only up towards the left, do not try to go right as it's
an insta-death.

Go up through the ceiling to see a chest, then go left to see a store, then
go further left through the chicken hole and.... you gotta dodge a whole bunch
of bone throwers, and you gotta get pass the giant guys. There is one amusing
thing you can do, and that is to stop at times to have the bone throwers aim
at the spot you stopped at, then proceed your merry way. It's practically one
way so it's not like that maze that you had to plan ahead. Going left to the
next area is rather uneventful, so proceed left to the next area that is
blocked by red vines.... are they trying to make fun of us? Bringing us back
to those Forest El Chivo days, it's just these vines lol... please make your
way through left without dying.

The next area has armadillo's! Murder them or let them forage, up to you. It's
only money coming out of them, unless you need health :P Supposing you have
a lot of stamina, you can keep spamming the dash punch, otherwise once you go
further left, there will be a way down and a way up, head down to make those
shortcuts, then come back up here. Go left, and it's puzzle time! Drop down
to the little wall here, and grab on, be at least in the middle of the wall
and goat fly left, keep an eye on walls in the way, you have to world switch
to make them disappear, and the only other thing you need to remember is to
fly into orange warps, and world switch to remove walls or make orange warps
appear. It's a bit of a doozy, bit it's very fun, and it will make you fly
through a blue block and through those bomber balls, giving you free money.

Where you stop flying is another puzzle. You basically need to goat climb
up these pillars, double jump onto the next pillar, do this for pillars
close to each other, use goat fly to cross larger gaps between pillars,
and make your way all the way to the last pillar, then goat fly right and
goat climb up till you see a yellow block to headbutt and a chest.

Go further right, and those friendly grunt skeletors are here with a speedy.
You actually have to defeat them, and then headbutt the yellow brick, and then
use the vertical wall here to fly to the right, goat climb up the wall and
into another warpy puzzle. But it's actually so simple lol. Go as left as you
can, then run jump into the orange warp, and keep holding right d-pad. Easy!
Once at the end, drop down, bust the blue block, and world switch if you need
to bring the orange warp in, warp down and pass the store.

Go right, and you will see a place to go down and make more shortcuts, do so,
and you will notice an area to the right of this corridor, going right
will yield a store, and further right is a warpy puzzle to a chest. It's a
doozy, but lucky for you I will tell you how to do this: jump into the first
orange warp from the right, it should help you grab onto the wall just above
the red vine. Slowly drop down and press the dodge button to pass through,
then grab back onto that wall. Goat fly into the orange warp, and it will
make you fly into the wall in the top left area, no goat fly left into the
orange warp, grab onto the wall, fly into the next orange warp, which will
make you grab onto the wall again, then drop down and press the dodge button
to finally pass the second red vine and voila, chest. Simply fly back into
warps to get out of here.

Go on back, and out of this shortcut corridor, and back on top where the first
store was. Head right instead, goat climbing and further right, and you'll
run into a fight with.... ELECTRO SKELETORS!!! IT'S THEM!!! Those bastards,
remember to dodge the lightning pillars, and do make use of headbutting. This
fight is all electro guys, and they will spawn after some time, so stick to
one guy and kill him fast, and do this for each guy, and switch worlds when
appropriate. After they are dead, don't go right yet, instead go back left
until you get to a flat wall to fly off of, and goat fly right and it should
send you pass the electro skeletor room, passed that controller breaking
puzzle, and onto a wall, and goat climb it up onto a platform and a store!

Going further right, I must warn you, if you don't have enough stamina this
next fight will have you pulling your hairs out, maybe even your armpit hairs
if you have any. Basically it's a fight against the bomber balls, and only
them, only this time they spawn in bunches, typically in a horizontal line,
and sometimes vertical, you will spend your time flying back and forth, goat
climbing and what not, if you do not have enough stamina, spending time to
wait is death. After they are all dead, proceed right and... it's tiny
platforms + bone throwers. You need to make your way all the way up, killing
the bone throwers while landing on the platforms. If you fall, do not land on
anything else, as it's a free death and you will spawn back to the last place
you stepped on. Funny thing is, some bone throwers are standing on the edge
of their platforms, if you can land on it, headbutt them to knock them off to
their deaths :D Midway point has a giant skeletor, beat him or skip him, too
bad we can't headbutt him off of here. Make your way all the way to the top
and to the left opening.

Headbutt through, then further left passed the store, keep going left tille
you hit a room full of baddies, giant skeletor and electro's! Luckily it's
not a closed fight, so you can try to make your way to the top to avoid
them if you want. Go through the ceiling, and goat climb all the way up
and through the block to see a store and an Olmec head! Yay! Now we can leave
if we missed anything previously, or you can continue right to proceed the
story. After the goat scene, head further right to face.... CALACA!!!!

CALACA

He.... is not like Jaguar, with all those special moves. Instead, Calaca
annoys you by appearing out of nowhere either where you stand, from above
where you are standing, and doing so in the underworld and real world, and
backstabbing you. He has colored shields, and the only way to do damage
to him is to use the appropriate color attack. But he's so fast! you say.
Well, there's one way you can annoy him too, and that is to jump everytime
you see him appear. His downward assault hurts because when he strikes the
ground, there's a blast radius, so jumping is the only way to avoid it. Now,
if you are fast, jumping to avoid him works even if he appeared from the
ground, because Calaca has like a 1 second gloat time before he disappears,
this is the only time you've got to strike him. Jumping to avoid him also
helps in that you won't be able to tell if he's in the shadow world, so to
avoid the extra button press too late, just jump, whenever you can jump. And
attack him of course, breaking his shield each time is damage to him, you
don't need to combo chicken him unless you can (I never seen him stunned
though). Whittling him down to his last tiny bar of health stops the fight
for a cut scene, and then.....

CALACA 2ND OFFENSIVE

He's back and bigger than before! Oh mama mia, how do we beat him. Well, it
is... actually kind of easy, because I'm going to tell you lol.

-SHIELDS: All colors, including the dreaded white ones >__<

-There will be meteors dropping from the sky with the grab icon on them,
and they are telling you to..... grab them to throw at Calaca lol. These
do the most damage to him, provided you dropped whatever colored shield
he currently has.

-FIRESTRIKE: Calaca will put his hands in a sort of begging posture (pretend
you are carrying a sword to present it medieval style). Lines will appear
onscreen in either an X or | pattern, and fire will cross these lines. Do
not get caught in these.

-HAMMER DOWN: Calaca will bring his arms up, and then slam them on the
ground. Only way to dodge is to jump.

-GATLING MOUTH: The Candyman as I like to call it. Calaca will tilt his
back backwards, and then shoot 3 sets of bullets at the last position you
were standing. Dodge to avoid!

-FLAMETHROWER MOUTH: Calaca will lean his body backwards, then shoot fire
from his mouth. This is a screen clearing blast of fire from the right
to the left, only way to dodge is to crouch!

If you haven't chucked your controller halfway across the room, if you
haven't crushed your keyboard yet, or if you didn't binge eat because
he was so hard to beat, and if you beat him, congratulations! Enjoy the
ending! Oh..... well, you did save the world :D

Q: What are the Gold Edition differences?
A: Sorry, I have not played non-Gold Edition Guacamelee, so I have no idea
what changes were gold, and what weren't. If I had to say though, I think
it is the costumes in the store. A part of the reason why I didn't mention
which of these costumes to use is because they have strengths and weaknesses,
and they fit a certain playstyle for whoever is playing. So I couldn't
recommend players use a Chicken suit in Sierra Morena, or Dead Juan in
the Great temple, because of the pros and cons if the player doesn't like
low stamina regen or no health orb absorption, then my guide would have
been biased. I also think the reason why costumes are gold edition only is
because there are challenges in the El Infierno level, completing them
will unlock certain costumes.

Q: I got the bad ending! WAH!
A: Okay, this one is a nightmare. You gotta find mask pieces in the levels
throughout this game, like Sierra Morena, Tule tree, etc. These nightmarish
places are behind a giant mouth door, and they need serious skill and time
and patience to even go through. Trust me, they are a nightmare! Calaca is
hard? Pfft, these secret levels are hard, they are maddening, I have neither
the skill or the patience to even do them, trust me they are hard. If you
want to have a go, remember near the beginning of Sierra Morena, the fight
with the cactuses and armadillo's? That opening on the right, that's one of
the secret levels for the mask piece. If you ever did make it through, maybe
you can let me know and I'll log it here and credit you.
