Version History
========================================
12/3/2019 - Version 1.00: Guide uploaded to GameFAQs. Planning a Version History
section for the game near the end.
12/4/2019 - Version 1.10: Shortened the Vehicle Statistics section into a chart,
updated the Cop section of the Vehicle Types section, and added the Game Version
History Section. Ending and Credits is now section 5 of the FAQ.
12/5/2019 - Version 1.15: Finished the end of the Hypercar Class Survival
because I couldn't notice it, and corrected the trophy name for winning a Road
Rage without getting taken down. Added and fixed a few things as well.
1/14/2020 - Version 1.20: Added Online Multiplayer section, reworded a few
things to make things sound more better, revised the majority of the event
strategies to get through the events, and added additional information about the
next update for the game. Reformatted the medal goals for each event, too. Might
want to revise other sections later.
1/17/2020 - Version 1.25: Fixed more grammar issues, and added a few things,
with a Leaderboards section. If there's more grammar issues I find, I'll fix
them as I add more stuff to the guide.
2/10/2020 - Version 1.30: More grammar issues fixed.
3/5/2020 - Version 1.40: Minimum Liability update details added to the Game
Version History section, which also resulted in all Bronze, some Silver, and a
few Gold Medal times being changed. This is now the current version of the game.
If I find more events with their medal thresholds changed, I will update the
section.
3/7/2020 - Version 1.45: Platinum Medal requirement for Formula DD Survival
changed.

========================================
Hello! Name's Beau Ackley, and I thank you for viewing this guide! You can just
call me Speed Bump if you want. In this guide, I will teach you how to get
through all events in the simplest terms I can. If I don't spell out something
correctly or if you don't understand what I'm trying to say, please let me know
via email or PM me on here on GameFAQs. My contact information will be after the
Disclaimer of this guide. If you want to head to a section quickly, just use the
search box at the top of the webpage and type in something like "2.0: Vehicles
and Vehicle Types" to get there instantly. Neat, huh?
Please remember that this guide is a WIP (work in progress), so anything I put
here is subject to change. I'm occasionally updating this word after word,
correcting spelling/grammar errors, and rephrasing a few things to make the
strategies sound more easier to follow.
NOTE: this guide may not look great when viewing it vertically for mobile users.
Use an actual computer, or view it horizontally for better reading.

0.2: Contact Rules
---------------------------------------------------------
My email has been around since 2005, so I have it right here:
[email protected]. If you have a Yahoo, you can add me so we can be friends
and stuff, but it's highly unlikely that I get friends on my main email. Yes, I
have a secondary email, which is Hotmail. I almost never go on there. I
personally don't mind if I get friend requests. It doesn't matter to me,
anyways. If I know you, you will have a slightly high chance of being on my
friends list. But if I don't, or if you are one of those bullies I've met on any
other social media sites I've been on, then your friend request will be
automatically declined, and it's gonna stay that way. ...Because I'm like that.
Please don't send me messages like "I n0 u, ur that guy that p0sts disgusting
shet on ur p4ge", or any of the others listed below:
"Your guide(s) suck! Never ever type on a computer again, you asswipe!"
"You forgot something in the guide that is really important. Because of that,
this guide automatically sucks, as well as you."
"Why are you so short-tempered, you lazy prick?"
"You suck huge balls, you clueless little moron!!1!!!!1!"
"What kind of stuff are you posting, you useless pile of crap?"
"u ar3 not a gud playr, and u su><orz, b1g tim3, g3t a life"
I will be like "lolz" and block said user and will mark comments as spam, as
well as delete the emails that are similar. If you're not just playing a
friendly joke, don't even bother with that kind of stuff, as I have been through
it countless times. So... Screw off with that. Though, chances are I won't get
these types of emails, so just don't post or send me such things and keep it to
yourself. Do you hate me? I'm cool with that. But just because that you do, it
doesn't mean that this guide (and possibly me, if you like to think like that)
is the worst. THE WORLD DON'T REVOLVE AROUND YOU, FYI.
Now that I got my contact information out of the way, I'll answer some
questions:
Q: Why didn't you include any of the controls?
A: Because you already have them both in-game, and in the instructions manual.
There was really no point to include a section for controls as I was making this
guide from the beginning.
Q: The traffic is different in the events than what you say. Are you sure that
what you're telling me is correct?
A: The events were done on my first attempts. Some of them I had to replay in
order to give you a better idea, so don't expect you're gonna be able to
complete the events on your first try, either.
Q: Do you have an online ID such as a PSN or Xbox Live?
A: Yes. It's called SpeedBumpVDrop, which is the same gamertag used on both. I
am on the Xbox practically all the time. Though, I tend to get off of it when I
go to bed or if I have to go somewhere.
Q: Are you going to make a guide for <insert video game title here>?
A: Depends if I think the game is interesting or good. If it is, then I'll
probably make a guide for it if I choose to. But if it isn't, then I most likely
won't.
Q: What do the Platinum Medals do?
A: Absolutely nothing. They're just there if you want to aim higher. You can get
those if you want, but I'd say that they're not really worth the effort.
Q: What is your least favorite mode in this game?
A: Survival, by far. One crash is all that it takes to end the run, and trust
me, you're gonna be wrecking a LOT in this game.
Q: Can I use this guide for other websites?
A: As long as you credit me, yes you can. But you cannot alter, fix, add, or
delete anything, however. Just keep it the way it is when posting it.
Q: Did you graduate from high school?
A: Dumb question, as it's off topic. I'm 24, in case you don't know. Most likely
a possibility.
Q: Why do you say some incorrect stuff in this guide?
A: I was in a slight hurry to get this guide done, so I may fix that when I
choose to.
That sums up this section. If you have any other questions, send me an email,
and I will try to answer it.

1.0: Gameplay Basics & Modes
========================================
So now that my contact information is out of the way, let's get straight into
the basics of gameplay and the modes. If you played Burnout 3: Takedown, then
you likely won't need to look at this section. Although, there are more features
and modes that you should know. If this is your first experience of a Burnout
type of game, then please go on.
---------------------------------------------------------
1.1: Driving Basics
---------------------------------------------------------
Hence the game's name, Dangerous Driving is all about... driving dangerously!
You perform risks on the road when nobody's watching, slam other drivers off the
road, and just be the first to the finish to win. However, the difficulty in
this game is harsh, so don't take this game too seriously. Let's talk about how
to get boost with risks.
-Drifting
Though drifting is a bit pointless in this game (because you have enough
steering to curve around most corners), it shouldn't be negated, either. To
perform a drift, steer in the direction the turn is going, and tap the brakes.
It's a tight drift, yes, but it's good if you need to get through corners
easily. Also note that you CANNOT alternate between pressing the brake and then
going back to the gas. The drift will not work that way.
-Oncoming
This is where you drive in the opposite side of the road to slowly rack up
boost, avoiding traffic as you go.
-Near Misses
Passing by traffic very closely. Though for some reason, this gives a LOT more
boost. And that's only a single miss, too. It's not hard to near miss traffic in
this game, either (though it can be tricky, judging how mobile the steering is).
-Catching air
Launching your vehicle into the air will GREATLY fill your boost bar. The longer
you're in the air, the more your boost bar fills up. Expect insane amounts of
air in the tracks.
-Escaping crashes
Drive away from a crash that just happened.
Now for boost you get from the other drivers, you simply battle them. By
attacking them, trailing behind them, and other ways.
-Slamming
Hitting other drivers into the side. This usually follows up with a successful
Takedown, which I'll get to in a few.
-Shunting
Bumping other drivers from behind. Pushes the other drivers forward when doing
this. Be careful, especially when you're near the finish line.
-Tailgating
Driving behind another driver closely. Make sure not to be too far of a distance
from them!
You earn the most boost by making other drivers crash. Otherwise called,
"Takedowns". Takedowns increase the size of your boost bar, up to a max of four
times. Note that Takedowns that happen in the races are left as smoking wrecks
on the track in the same place. So remember where you did them! There are many
different types of Takedowns that you can do.
-Takedown
Simply make a rival driver crash by slamming him off the road.
-Traffic Takedown
Make a rival driver crash by hitting him into a traffic vehicle, or another
rival.
-Junkyard Takedown
This one is different than others. You get this by slamming a rival into a
smoking wreck on the road.
-Vertical Takedown
Land on top of another rival driver. This is only doable in the air.
-Aftertouch Takedown
This is where you control your crash in Danger Time to hit other drivers. Notice
how I said "in Danger Time" because if another driver crashes into your wreck
when you're not in Danger Time, it won't count as an Aftertouch.
-Psyche Out
-Scare a rival into crashing. These are rare, surprisingly.
HOW TO DO A BOOST START
There are two ways you can get a Boost Start.
1. Spin your tires by tapping the brake, and then holding down the gas for the
entire countdown.
2. Hold gas and press brake once at the start of the countdown. When you see
"1", let go of gas, but before "GO" appears, press both the gas and boost
buttons at the same time.
One great piece of advice to know about Boost Starts is that once performed,
you'll get some boost to use at the start right away. In Heatwave mode, you'll
start a Heatwave chain right off the bat. Master this technique, and you'll get
first place at the start almost every time!
---------------------------------------------------------
1.2: Game Modes
---------------------------------------------------------
Yeah, not much to talk about for game modes, so... hopefully in future updates,
they will implement an offline single player where you can make your own events,
and a local multiplayer so you can play with friends. No Crash mode in this
game, so if you want to experience that, get Danger Zone 1 and 2. They're made
by the same people.
-Single Player Career
The only single player mode in the game. Compete in events of the Sedan, SUV,
Coupe, Supercar, Hypercar, and Formula DD Classes to unlock tracks, cars, and
more events.
Multiplayer
Online mode. It's nearly dead, because there's no one else playing this game.
Play online with your friends here if you want.
---------------------------------------------------------
1.3: Game Types
---------------------------------------------------------
There are a total of 10 different Game Types in Dangerous Driving. The
objectives of these events will be explained in the actual events in the career
itself, so pardon my repeating.
-Race
A typical race to the finish sort of deal. You race with 5 other drivers, and
the first one to the finish line wins. There are 8 total Races in the game.
-*Shakedown
A single lap race, where you are given a pre-selected vehicle in the same series
you're in, and beat the target times to progress. These events are all based on
your driving skills, so try your best to not crash! There are 4 Shakedowns in
the game.
-*Shakedown Preview
Just like Shakedown, except you are given a pre-selected vehicle in the higher
classes. Beat the target times to advance. There are 5 Shakedown Previews in
total.
-Eliminator
A 5 lap race, but there's a bit of a twist. The person caught in last place
after every lap is out of the race. This will continue until there's 1 driver
remaining. There are 5 Eliminators in the game.
-Heatwave
No Takedowns, just pure racing! Chain Heatwaves in order to stay in front, and
don't be left in the dust! If you crash, your boost will be empty the next time
you spawn. These events usually take a while to finish, and there are 7 of these
in the Tour.
-*Road Rage
A Takedown-fest of an event! No laps, just keep taking other drivers down until
time expires, or you are totaled. There's a lot of Road Rages in the game. 10 of
them, specifically.
-*Survival
They say cats have nine lives. In this mode, you do not. How far can you go
unscathed? One crash or when time expires before you reach the next checkpoint,
and it'll be an early end. There are 5 of these in the Tour.
-Face Off
You versus against another driver. Finish before him to win his car. This is the
most common way to unlock all cars in the game. 13 of these in the Tour, and the
most events out of any other in the game.
-*Pursuit
You drive a Cop vehicle and try to stop one, or multiple targets before they
escape, you run out of time, or are 500m from you. Successfully get their health
down to 1 and take them down to win. This is the only mode that can unlock the
other two Cop Cars in the game. There's 6 of these, one in each class.
-GP
A series of 3 races. The driver with the most points at the end of the Grand
Prix wins, and moves on to the next class. 6 of these, one in each class, are
always the final event before moving onto the next class.
* = These are the types of events that have a hidden Platinum Medal goal that
you can choose to go for. They're entirely optional, you don't really have to
get them to progress in the Tour, but they're not insignificant either. I mean,
you can choose to go for the Platinum Medal goal, but I'd say that they're not
really worth the effort of getting. So Gold is pretty much the best medal you
can get in all events in general, Platinum is optional. I have the Platinum
Medal targets for each of these events down so that you can try to get them if
you truly want to.
========================================
2.0: Vehicles and Vehicle Types
========================================
There are 6 different vehicle types in Dangerous Driving, and four different
types of each vehicle. You'll only have the Sedan class unlocked when you start
the game. Every vehicle in the game can go at about 200mph when boosting, so
already, that's quite fast.
---------------------------------------------------------
2.1: Vehicles
---------------------------------------------------------
-Sedan Class
These are going to be your vehicles when starting out. They're quite slow, but
that gives you enough reaction time. The Sedan vehicles in general resemble a
2015 Honda Accord.
Drivetrain: FWD
Transmission Type: 5-Speed Auto
-SUV Class
Big four seaters that have round, yet, blocky looks to them. A pretty basic
class, but they have poor acceleration because of how big they are. The SUVs
resemble a Volkswagen Tiguan II.
Drivetrain: 4WD
Transmission Type: 5-Speed Reinforced Auto
-Coupe Class
A sporty-looking class that has good statistics all around. Great for
intermediate players. Good for balance The Coupes resemble a Jaguar F-Type.
Drivetrain: 4WD
Transmission Type: 5-Speed Auto
-Supercar Class
Modern type speedsters that have high performance. Recommended for advanced
players. High acceleration for quick starts The Supercars resemble a 2013
Ferrari LaFerrari.
Drivetrain: RWD
Transmission Type: 5-Speed Dual-Clutch Auto
-Hypercar Class
High speed roadsters with very high performance all across the board. For
experienced players only, so hold on tight! The Hypercars resemble an Audi R8.
Drivetrain: 4WD
Transmission Type: 5-Speed Dual-Clutch Auto
-Formula DD Class
Pure race-bred vehicles straight from the Indianapolis 500. Proceed with
caution. The Formula DDs resemble typical F1 Indycars (I mean, what else do they
look like?).
Drivetrain: RWD
Transmission Type: 8-Speed Racing Auto
---------------------------------------------------------
2.2: Vehicle Types
---------------------------------------------------------
All vehicle classes have four different vehicle types. Their performances vary,
depending on the type. You usually start out with the regular car in each class
to unlock the other three to use. You unlock more cars by completing Face Offs,
sometimes in other events.
-Base Model
The starting vehicle for each class. These are well-rounders, so they're good at
everything.
-Tuned
This vehicle type is meant for Heatwave mode. Each Heatwave they get will
receive a +2mph boost to their top speed. However, they are near useless in
Races because even though they earn boost very quickly, they also go through
boost way too quickly. They shouldn't be completely ignored, either. Other than
that, only use Tuned vehicles for Heatwave modes. Granted, you probably won't
experience this unless you couldn't get a Gold Medal in an event and want an
advantage. With a feature like this in the right mode, they can be the fastest
cars in the class. Tuned cars are slightly customized versions of the regular
car, usually with a big rear wing added.
-Advanced
Added weight means you can perform Takedowns easier with these vehicles. They're
meant for Road Rages, so pick these for those events. The only problem you're
gonna be running into is that the wrecks that happen will remain on the track,
so you don't wanna rely on Takedowns a lot during races, as this can spell out
trouble for you later on. If you intend to use it in races, go for it, but
again, do not do a lot of Takedowns just to crash a lot later. That's just
common sense. They also tend to be the slowest of the series with poorer
acceleration and slightly less mobility because of their weight. They have a
larger rear wing than the Tuned version, have different exhausts, and other
stuff added to make them more 'aggressive'.
-Prototype
Made for racing, these cars can zip through just about anything the road can
throw at you. They're the best cars for racing, and are very nimble in their
steering. But then again, every car pretty much is. One big flaw that you're
likely to find out is that the Prototypes are very fragile due to their light
weight, meaning that they're horrible for Takedowns. They can be taken out very
easily as a result, especially by Advanced vehicles. With these cars, they're
built for the road, but not the rage. Nab a few Takedowns to really get them
going. They're dignified for having a carbon fiber body with a roll cage usually
around the rear, or all over the body.
-Cop
Only used for Pursuit mode. They have sirens, which you can turn off or change
by pressing the analog sticks down. Unlike all the other classes, there's three
- Sedan, SUV, and Supercar. What's the deal with that? Oh well. At least they
look cool. Plus, they're needed to get the two mileage Achievements/Trophies.
Though for some reason, my Cop Sedan had 15 miles driven, while the other two
Cop Cars and all other cars in general had over 100 miles on them. I got the
trophies before I took the Cop Sedan out for 100 miles. Anyone know why this is?
---------------------------------------------------------
2.3: Vehicle Statistics

3.0: Walkthrough
========================================
Here we go with the Single Player Career! There are 69 total events, and you
have to place in them to get completion and unlock more events. It kinda sucks
that you have to do that, but it's just how things are. We have to deal with it.
Fortunately, getting Gold in all events isn't necessary to unlock other events.
Though if you're going for the Trophies that the game has to offer, then you
only need to get Gold in all Pursuits, Races, Road Rages, Shakedowns (including
Previews), Face Offs, and Survivals. That means Eliminators, Heatwaves, and GPs
aren't needed to Gold. And if you want the Gold, go right ahead.
---------------------------------------------------------
3.1: Sedan Class Events
---------------------------------------------------------
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Event 1 - Race
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Track: Twin Ferry Lakes (Short)
1st Place: Gold
2nd Place: Silver
3rd Place: Bronze
This track is pretty basic, with 2 laps to go around. If you paid attention to
the stuff I typed down about getting boost, you can initialize on this event by
starting with your rivals. Remember to use your boost when you're in first, and
be careful of the traffic. Because one crash can EASILY put you way in the back
of the pack, and you don't want to finish in last on your first race. The
traffic itself, there's so little, so you'll be pretty much fine and not worry
too much about it. And yes, this may be hard on your first time through, but the
game is not gonna immediately ramp up from there. Good luck on this, and
remember that if you do crash, you can hold the Danger Time button to control
your crash, which is great. Head to the Shakedown Preview after this.
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Event 2 - Shakedown Preview
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Track: Eagle Ridge Mountain (Short)
Vehicle: Supercar
2:08.00 - Platinum
2:10.00 - Gold
2:20.00 - Silver
2:40.00 - Bronze
Welcome to the first of many Shakedowns. Not much choice in selection of
vehicles, but there is one golden rule that you have to know: NO CRASHING. This
is a time trial, and to get Gold, you need to complete a single lap within 2
minutes and 10 seconds. And this is a Preview, so you're gonna be using a car
that is well above the speed of anything that you've driven so far. Good thing
is, there's some room for error, so if you don't crash, you can easily Platinum
this without much trouble. The car is so fast, that you're going to be at mach
speed, so try your best to not crash a few times to at least get the Bronze. But
why would you want that, when you can go for Gold? Hit up the more difficult
regular Shakedown.
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Event 3 - Shakedown
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Track: Surf Side Island (Short)
Vehicle: Tuned Sedan
1:15.00 - Platinum
1:20.00 - Gold
1:30.00 - Silver
1:45.00 - Bronze
This one is different, because it's not a Preview. You're using a car from the
class you're currently in, and it's gonna be using boost like mad if you don't
keep those risks going. As long as you do a Boost Start and take the left path
on the fork near the finish line, you'll be able to Gold this. The track itself
isn't too difficult, there are a lot of tight turns here, so drifting is
recommended. Just be sure to not crash if you want the Gold or Platinum! This
Shakedown is much more difficult than the one you just did, so please
concentrate on the road as much as you can.
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Event 4 - Road Rage
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Track: Eagle Ridge Mountain (Long)
12 Takedowns - Platinum
8 Takedowns - Gold
5 Takedowns - Silver
3 Takedowns - Bronze
Road Rage, the crowd favorite. The objective is simple - get as many Takedowns
as you can before time expires. The track has a lot of straights, which are
perfect for aggressive driving. Remember to take it easy around the corners so
that you don't risk yourself crashing. The key to Road Rage is to drive
aggressively, but NEVER overdo it! You can try to go for the "Unscathed" trophy
here if you want, which is to Gold medal a Road Rage without crashing once.
Otherwise, don't worry about it right now. Good job if you get the Platinum.
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Event 5 - Face Off 1
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Track: "Mountain Madness" (Eagle Ridge Mountain/Twin Ferry Lakes)
Face Offs consist of you against another driver who always has a car you can
unlock by winning against. You may think that since you raced against 5 other
drivers, it's even easier with only 1. Well, this event is actually a pushover,
so you can get through it with minimal skill. Your rival doesn't prove to be
quite a challenge, as you can get ahead of him easily, because he doesn't appear
to use much boost himself. So don't worry about your rival, since he's pretty
slow. Crashing will make him catch up to you, but you really shouldn't have to
worry about crashing here, either. I mean this IS the first vehicle class in the
game.
This track is different than the other ones. You go from one point to another.
Only 1 lap is displayed in the game for some strange reason when the track
doesn't even loop. There's not much to worry about crashing, since the traffic
is pretty light here. If you can, acquire a few Takedowns on your rival. Good
luck, and enjoy your new car.
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Event 6 - Heatwave
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Track: Eagle Ridge Mountain (Short)
1st Place - Gold
2nd Place - Silver
3rd Place - Bronze
Welcome to the very first Heatwave event of the game. Heatwaves are a system
similar to Burnout 2: Point of Impact. You fill up your boost bar fully in order
to use it, and you hold the boost button down to keep chaining. However, unlike
Burnout 2, you keep chaining as long as you keep boosting. Taking risks will not
refill your boost bar, and you have to keep in mind that events like these
negate Takedowns. For the first Heatwave, I'd stick with the regular Sedan,
since it's faster than the Advanced Sedan. Be careful not to crash, because if
you do, your boost meter becomes empty, which isn't good. Drift, since there are
a lot of tight corners here (you're going the same way as you did in the
Shakedown Preview).
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Event 7 - Face Off 2
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Track: "The Noon Day Thrash" (Cool Water Valley/Grasslands Proving Ground)
Another Face Off, once again, against a guy who doesn't put up much of a race.
For some reason when he crashes, he doesn't even try to beat you anymore. What
is that all about? There are more tighter corners in this track, so do make use
of drifting here. Boost on the long straights, and be sure to avoid traffic as
you go. If necessary, get a max boost bar by taking your rival down (you can go
for taking him down 5 times to get an achievement/trophy). This is a general
rule of thumb, but if your rival gets really ahead of you when you crash, do
everything you can to pass him, though he does fall behind the more you boost
and keep those risks chaining. When you win, you'll get the Tuned Sedan. Coulda
used that like a Face Off ago!
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Event 8 - Pursuit
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Track: "The Sunset Dream" (Dead Rock Canyon/High Dunes Desert)
Targets: 1
2:20.00 - Platinum
2:30.00 - Gold
2:45.00 - Silver
3:00.00 - Bronze
Here we are with a new game mode: Pursuit. This is an event where you are a Cop,
and stop the cars that try to get away from you. Your goal is to stop them by
bumping their vehicle's target meter down. If you pass through the Bronze medal
time, you'll fail the Pursuit. If you crash, there's not much penalty from doing
so, and that's only a minor problem with these events at this point. So make an
effort to quickly take all the targets down before you pass the Gold medal time.
Like, as soon as freaking possible. When you get their target meter down to one,
you have to take them down in the usual way in order to stop them. In later
Pursuits, you'll have to take down multiple targets, so keep that in mind.
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Event 9 - Face Off 3
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Track: Surf Side Island (Long)
Another easy Face Off. This guy doesn't prove to be a challenge in the
slightest. Yes, the track has a lot of hard turns, but other than that, this
event really isn't that difficult. It's just a 1 lap race on a track that
actually loops, and the course itself isn't all that bad. Yeah, there are a few
tight corners, but everything else was just basic for me. I found no parts of
the track to be particularly hard at all. It's just mostly straightaways and
tight corners. Just get a Takedown if needed, avoid the traffic, drift around
the corners, and you'll get the last Sedan available to use and an
achievement/trophy. I actually recommend it for the next event and the GP.
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Event 10 - Survival
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Track: "The Dangerous 100" (Cool Water Valley/Surf Side Island)
8,000m - Platinum
6,000m - Gold
4,000m - Silver
2,000m - Bronze
Oh dear, it's the Survival event. The game type you knew had to exist in some
way, shape, or form. Of course, given what the objective is, you know that this
would be the worst mode in the game. But as a first time playing this mode, this
one is fairly easy to Gold. As long as you concentrate on your driving, avoiding
traffic, and not making too many mistakes, then you should be able to pass this
without much trouble. The timer resets back to the max when you reach and pass
the checkpoints, so there's no penalty for getting to the checkpoint with the
timer nearly expiring. Plus, you'll get a medal every two checkpoints, so it's
easier than it seems. The track itself has a bunch of corners, so take it easy
through them, since you run the risk of crashing if you don't. There's more
traffic here than usual, and don't get frustrated if you don't get Gold on your
first run through. Good luck, and kudos if you get the Platinum here.
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Event 11 - GP
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Track: "The Saloon" GP
1st Place - Gold
2nd Place - Silver
3rd Place - Bronze
This is a Grand Prix, which consists of three races. The person with the most
points when it's all over is declared the winner. Yes, the traffic here is
nothing special, but you really shouldn't worry about crashing, either. If,
heaven forbid, you don't get first place in a given race, there's always more
races to catch up, provided you don't screw up a lot. Anyway, let's get on with
this!
Race 1 - Twin Ferry Lakes (Short)
This one is easy, so there isn't much to say. But the key thing to do here is
Takedowns. Maxing out your boost bar will ensure that you stay ahead of the
opposition, so burn it up on the straights. Pretty straightforward for a first
race of a GP.
Race 2 - Eagle Ridge Mountain (Long)
Given that you were here in the Road Rage, this shouldn't be too difficult for
you to get through. So just go all into this track, hopefully with an additional
6 points for the GP.
Race 3 - Surf Side Island (Short)
A fairly easy way to finish this all off. Assuming you've gone through the
Shakedown in Surf Side Island earlier, this should be a pushover, since it's
pretty much the same deal. In addition, you can always get the boost increase
from Takedowns. Do note that it's 2 laps, though.
And with that, we've unlocked the SUV Class! Shall we go for the events there?
---------------------------------------------------------
3.2: SUV Class Events
---------------------------------------------------------
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Event 1 - Race 1
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Track: High Dunes Desert (Short)
1st Place - Gold
2nd Place - Silver
3rd Place - Bronze
Even though this technically is a long track by the design, you can get some
great air from it. The sun blocking your view on the road can be annoying,
though. This is a pretty straightforward event to get a Gold medal on, so start
a car massacre by taking others down and maxing out your boost. And then go from
there. Be careful not to go off the track when you're in the air, because you'll
end up getting put in last place when you respawn. Remember that you have aerial
control as well, so use it to score a Vertical Takedown if you have the
opportunity.
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Event 2 - Road Rage 1
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Track: Surf Side Island (Short)
15 Takedowns - Platinum
10 Takedowns - Gold
6 Takedowns - Silver
4 Takedowns - Bronze
This track you should be familiar with by now, but the traffic here is a bit
more common, so you might want to start making use of that Danger Time feature
if you're starting to have a bit of trouble. Don't be aggressive in the corners,
and only battle on the straights. Use boost to catch other drivers and knock 'em
off the road. If you get the Platinum, then give yourself a pat on the back.
Onto the Pursuit.
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Event 3 - Pursuit
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Track: "The Downhill Super T" (Eagle Ridge Mountain/High Dunes Desert)
Targets: 2
2:20.00 - Platinum
2:30.00 - Gold
2:45.00 - Silver
3:00.00 - Bronze
While there are now two targets, that won't make much of a difference in your
overall success. For one thing, you can simply stay behind the slower target and
keep on bumping him from behind. Then when he's got one point left, slam him off
the road. Secondly, the Coupe target is not that big a deal. You can easily
dispatch him as effectively. Just drive behind, and keep on bumping his rear
until he has a single point left. Take him out to win. You now have the second
Cop Car in the game, and likely a Platinum Medal if you stopped them quick
enough. Seriously, these events are the easiest to get the Platinum on.
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Event 4 - Shakedown Preview 1
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Track: "The Noon Day Thrash" (Cool Water Valley/Grasslands Proving Ground)
Vehicle: Formula DD
3:33.00 - Platinum
3:35.00 - Gold
3:40.00 - Silver
4:00.00 - Bronze
This Shakedown Preview can be hard, since you're using a car that can go up to
230MPH, and there's a lot of corners that you have to drift through. Try not to
hit the outside walls too much, or you'll lose speed and possibly crash. If you
can power through some of the light corners, you'll save yourself a little bit
of time. Avoid the traffic, even though there's not much of it (there tends to
be a pair of two cars together), and you may have to go through multiple
attempts at this just to get the Gold, but don't get frustrated if you don't.
Hopefully you'll get the deed done, and move on to a much more relaxing event.
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Event 5 - Heatwave
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Track: Twin Ferry Lakes (Long)
1st Place - Gold
2nd Place - Silver
3rd Place - Bronze
Heatwave... such a blast to play with all the speed you'll get from simply
burning the boost and chaining up. This one is pretty straightforward. Boost
start, then keep that chain going! Then from there, just focus on the road. The
track itself is nothing particularly difficult, just smooth driving with very
few tight corners. Traffic is pretty light, so you can get a massive lead if you
continue chaining up through the majority of the track without ever crashing. Do
note that it's a big 3 lap race, so it may take some time before it ends.
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Event 6 - Eliminator
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Track: Surf Side Island (Lighthouse)
1st Place - Gold
2nd Place - Silver
3rd Place - Bronze
A new event type, finally. This is an introduction to the Eliminator. If you've
played Burnout 3, you'll know what this is - 5 laps on a single track. The racer
caught in last place after every lap is eliminated. These events can be pretty
rough, actually. It depends on the vehicle class you're in, really. Since this
is the first Eliminator event, this is actually pretty simple - just stay in the
lead. Try not to do a lot of Takedowns, as they can eventually lead into
trouble, and make you crash a lot. And if that happens, or if you screw up
majorly in the corners, you have to do what you can to take back the lead. Don't
hurt yourself if you fail to get Gold. Because like I said, Eliminators are
class dependent. This is the first one, so it's not that difficult. Just be
persistent with staying in the front.
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Event 7 - Shakedown Preview 2
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Track: Dead Rock Canyon (Short)
Vehicle: Hypercar
1:22.00 - Platinum
1:25.00 - Gold
1:30.00 - Silver
1:50.00 - Bronze
Another hard Preview. This time, you're using the Hypercar, which has rich
speed, but the corners will make it very easy for you to crash with it. So drift
around the tighter corners, and burn up the boost on the straights. And when you
get to the fork, be careful. They are single lane, so you might end up in a
crash when going through there. When you get to the last corner, hug the wall,
and burn to the finish line. Hopefully you got Gold on that, because that was
tough.
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Event 8 - Face Off 1
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Track: Dead Rock Canyon (Long)
Seeing as you got through half the SUV events without unlocking a car, let's go
ahead and get one already! This event is easy, unlike a few of the other Face
Offs we have seen at this point. So just keep on the gas, use up all the boost
you have, and just keep avoiding traffic. At least this guy is SLIGHTLY harder
to beat, but that's not really going to make much of a difference. It's another
1 lapper, so just keep your rival in the dust to win his Tuned SUV, which again
is useless, because there are no Heatwave events coming up after this! But if
you plan to use it in the next event for the "Survival of the Fittest"
achievement/trophy, then go for it.
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Event 9 - Survival
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Track: "The Island Getaway" (Surf Side Island/Twin Ferry Lakes)
10,000m - Platinum
8,000m - Gold
6,000m - Silver
4,000m - Bronze
This Survival is not that hard, you just have to concentrate on your driving.
The traffic is barely intimidating here, so there's really not that much to
worry about. Boost on the straights and not on the corners. The track is far
more easier to drive through. I even managed to get through the whole place
without using a lot of my boost. So yeah, that just goes to show you how you can
win the event, provided you can avoid traffic and not hug the walls too much.
You're gonna have to get Gold to unlock that Advanced SUV, anyways. Good luck.
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Event 10 - Face Off 2
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Track: "The Great Escape" (Grasslands/Cool Water/Surf Side)
Not really anything special here. Just another Prototype to unlock when winning.
This is also one of the first tracks that has three different sections combined
into one long race. This sure as hell ain't one of the harder Face Offs, because
you can keep your lead for the entirety of the race. This guy is just like his
other brother back in Dead Rock Canyon, so make mincemeat out of him to get both
his vehicle and another achievement/trophy. The second Race of the series is
next, and you better get that Prototype ready for it!
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Event 11 - Race 2
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Track: Eagle Ridge Mountain (Long)
1st Place - Gold
2nd Place - Silver
3rd Place - Bronze
You've pretty much familiarized yourself with this track by now, so there's no
need for me to explain much of it. Just drift around those tight corners and
avoid traffic when possible. It's a 2 lap race, so keep at it. Be careful of the
wrecks of Takedowns you have performed on the subsequent lap, though. When
you're on fire with that long boost bar, tear it up!
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Event 12 - Road Rage 2
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Track: High Dunes Desert (Marathon)
18 Takedowns - Platinum
13 Takedowns - Gold
8 Takedowns - Silver
6 Takedowns - Bronze
Been a while since we had some Road Rage action, so get that Advanced SUV out to
deliver a fresh can of whoop-ass on those targets! This is not hard to do, just
knock 'em off the road and avoid traffic. May be a bit troublesome because of
it, but you'll pull through with a Gold. Just mow 'em down. Try to use your
Danger Time to get extra Takedowns if you crash, and don't slam them when
there's traffic close by. Now, we finish the SUV Class in the GP.
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Event 13 - GP
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Track: "The Crosley GP"
1st Place - Gold
2nd Place - Silver
3rd Place - Bronze
Get that Prototype out, and hit this GP up. This is a bit more difficult than
the Sedan Class GP, but it's still not that hard.
Race 1 - High Dunes Desert (Long)
Just be careful around traffic, and the wrecks left from the Takedowns you
performed. Burn up the straights with your boost, and take out your rivals that
stand in your path. This is a longer version of the track, so endure the hot
heat in the desert, and you'll be fine.
Race 2 - Cool Water Valley (Marathon)
Take caution around the corners here, because if you drift close to the inside
rail, you risk crashing into oncoming traffic. This track has a bit more traffic
than the previous race, so please be aware. Takedowns are advised if you want to
keep the lead, but you'll have to be careful for Nervous Wrecks simultaneously.
Race 3 - Surf Side Island (Marathon)
I love how this track looks. The starry night sky with the moon glowing, with
light clouds flowing through the sky. So pretty! But anyways, this race is the
most difficult of all because of the track's length. Hopefully without getting
distracted by the beautiful atmosphere, avoiding traffic as you go, you'll be
fine.
So the Coupe series is now unlocked. Nice... Might as well begin the Race, now
that you have the chance.
---------------------------------------------------------
3.3: Coupe Class Events
---------------------------------------------------------
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Event 1 - Race
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Track: Dead Rock Canyon (Short)
1st Place - Gold
2nd Place - Silver
3rd Place - Bronze
There's a little bit more traffic, so you might wanna be careful in this race.
This place is more difficult than the other tracks at this point because of the
aggressive turns. Take drifting into account here, and just focus on your
driving. It's a 3 lapper too, so you're gonna be here for some time. Try not to
do a lot of Takedowns here, since you'll be crashing a lot later if you keep
doing them. That's one important thing you gotta keep in mind while racing. The
fact that Takedowns can come out and bite you in the ass later because of the
remnants of the wrecks still hanging around on the tracks. So pay attention to
where you did them. When you get passed by the leader though, you'll have to do
what you can to get up to him and take him out, though the rubberband AI is on</pre><pre id="faqspan-2">
levels of unfair, so you'll have to concentrate on not crashing when in second
place. The final hard right turn will decide the winner.
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Event 2 - Road Rage 1
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Track: Cool Water Valley (Long)
18 Takedowns - Platinum
14 Takedowns - Gold
10 Takedowns - Silver
6 Takedowns - Bronze
An easy Road Rage, as long as you know what to do. 14 Takedowns may look a bit
much, but it's not hard to acquire Takedowns here. The traffic is not heavy at
all, but it's also not hard to crash because of the corners here, including one
annoying 270 degree turn in the tunnel. Just battle on the straights, and take
it easy in the corners. The best general tips I can give you. Getting the
Platinum can be easy here, as long as you think and act quickly.
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Event 3 - Heatwave 1
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Track: "The Run to the Water" (Twin Ferry/Eagle Ridge/High Dunes)
1st Place - Gold
2nd Place - Silver
3rd Place - Bronze
Oh boy, this is one long track, which means you're gonna be here for a while,
chaining up. This is actually an easy Heatwave event, so if you keep your chain
up for the majority of the way, you'll get a pretty extensive lead. Beware of
the traffic, as it can come out from the corners and mess up your mojo. The
massive straights are a great way to keep burning. As long as you don't crash
and stay ahead of the whole pack for the majority of the race, you can get
through this and prove that this is nothing to you. I hope you're not sweating
just because of those Heatwaves you've been chaining up here. You probably are,
but it's not gonna make a difference in the next event. Oh, and by the way,
there's another Heatwave event in this series that we'll have a blast playing
through... when we can finally put a Tuned car to good use!
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Event 4 - Face Off 1
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Track: "The Dangerous 100" (Cool Water Valley/Surf Side Island)
This Face Off can be be... really rough, actually. The traffic here is what
kills it, so you might end up getting plagued for it, starting out with a really
irritating 270 degree turn in the first tunnel. You just have to wait for an
opportunity to take him down so that you can have more boost. Or at least hope
that he crashes himself out. When you pass him, make sure that you don't do too
many mistakes. Eventually, the track itself will get easier and more safer
opportunities to use your boost, but the traffic will not calm down. If you're
still behind him when you get to the Surf Side Island part of the track, you can
still catch him as long as you keep your cool and take him out when you reach
him. Upon victory, you'll actually get to use a Tuned car in a Heatwave event!
Well, it's about time! Not yet, though. We still have a second Road Rage and
Face Off before using that!
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Event 5 - Road Rage 2
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Track: Grasslands Proving Ground (Short)
18 Takedowns - Platinum
14 Takedowns - Gold
10 Takedowns - Silver
6 Takedowns - Bronze
This Road Rage is harder than the one in Cool Water Valley earlier. The traffic
is common here, so make an effort NOT to crash, especially in the traffic. Keep
it smooth in the corners, and make it dirty in the straights. Sounded kinda
wrong, yes, but just keep it nice and clean. Remember to boost to catch up to
rivals and slam them off the road. Danger Time when crashing is helpful. Just be
sure you're still in it when you hit another rival. Otherwise, it won't count.
Hopefully you won't be crashing too much, and with luck, you'll be able to get
the Gold on this. Now that THAT's done, let's get into another Face Off.
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Event 6 - Face Off 2
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Track: "The Sunset Dream" (High Dunes Desert/Dead Rock Canyon)
Really not much to say here except this Face Off is a bit easier than the last
one. Yeah, your rival is a bit hard to take down and the traffic can be a little
intimidating, but you're on a track that doesn't loop, so don't worry about it
too much. You can keep your lead for the whole race if you're really good at
avoiding traffic, and still leave your rival in the dust. That's just how I went
through this. thinking he's gonna be hard this time, but he really isn't.
Besides, Advanced cars are the slowest in each class, so you're likely going to
be speeding ahead of him anyway. Ready to put that Tuned Coupe to great use in
the next event, now?
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Event 7 - Heatwave 2
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Track: Grasslands Proving Ground (Long)
1st Place - Gold
2nd Place - Silver
3rd Place - Bronze
I told you this is a great place to use a Tuned car, because you can get some
INSANE amounts of air at a certain point in the track if you chain your Heatwave
long enough! And when you DO get into the air, make an effort to keep your car
aligned with the road before landing. Beware of the traffic when going over
hills, because they can come out unexpectedly to destroy your chain. The front
car cam is the best option to use for that case so you can move out of the way
in time, though it glitches up when landing hard. Don't know why it does that.
As for the event itself, it's a pushover with the Tuned Coupe because of the
extra speed you quickly get the more Heatwaves you chain. So yeah, nothing
particularly hard, just another event to breeze through.
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Event 8 - Face Off 3
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Track: Cool Water Valley (Marathon)
This isn't a hard Face Off, but the amount of traffic can make it annoying, in
that it comes out from the corners, and you can easily crash into it if you
don't see it coming. Another thing that can make this event annoying is the
amount of hard corners in this track. Drifting is a must to do here. Other than
that, those are the only things that will try to drag you down from winning.
Your opponent may have the fastest Coupe, but he doesn't have the brains or guts
to take you down. If anything, he can speed ahead of you if you crash early, so
do what you can to get on his tail. You will win this if you're careful enough,
and when you do, you'll have all the Coupes available with another achievement
tied to unlocking a Prototype! Yay!
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Event 9 - Shakedown
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Track: Twin Ferry Lakes (Marathon)
Vehicle: Any Coupe
3:53.00 - Platinum
4:00.00 - Gold
4:10.00 - Silver
4:35.00 - Bronze
Unlike all the other Shakedowns, you can actually pick your own car this time!
Choose the newly obtained Prototype, and let's get on with it. This one isn't
anything difficult, it's just the traffic can kill you here if you're not
careful. You can still get a Platinum on this if you crash once or twice, but if
you crash a third time, unless you're really good at power drifting through
corners, then you might want to restart. Just be careful, boost on the
straights, and play it safe. I managed to get 3 minutes and 27 seconds with no
crashes. Quite easy.
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Event 10 - Pursuit
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Track: "Into the Valley" (Cool Water Valley/High Dunes Desert)
Targets: 3
3:15.00 - Platinum
3:30.00 - Gold
4:00.00 - Silver
5:00.00 - Bronze
This Pursuit can be a bit troublesome. The traffic being your main concerns, but
now there's 3 targets. This is now the event where I feel it's relevant to point
out that if you take a target down while in Danger Time, you'll stop them
automatically, which is pretty nice of the developers. The only trouble you'll
come across in doing so is that you'll have a bit of a hard time keeping up with
them because crashing can extend their distance. Don't want that happening now,
do we? Don't rely on the Danger Time method entirely, though. Just take them
down the normal way. And when the Supercar is left, he'll be cake, and then
toast.
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Event 11 - Road Rage 3
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Track: High Dunes Desert (Short)
20 Takedowns - Platinum
16 Takedowns - Silver
12 Takedowns - Gold
8 Takedowns - Bronze
16 Takedowns to get Gold. May be a bit much, but this event is a pushover. Your
rivals tend to stick close to each other, so knock one into another for two
Takedowns! That will speed things up a bit, and you'll get Gold on this with
little to no trouble. The traffic can be a problem when battling, since it's
fairly common here. Don't overdo your abilities to Takedown other drivers, or
you may end up missing them a lot and wrecking. Smashing up your own ride by
doing that is never a good thing. Remember, the key to Road Rage is to be
aggressive, but never overdo it!
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Event 12 - Survival
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Track: "The Downhill Super T" (Eagle Ridge Mountain/High Dunes Desert)
12,000m - Platinum
9,000m - Gold
7,000m - Silver
5,000m - Bronze
This Survival can be annoying, but it's not too bad. The traffic here is still
nothing special except for the beginning, so you're gonna have to be careful if
you want to Gold this event. Slow down a bit in the corners so that you don't
hug the walls too much, and be sure to use the boost on the straights. Once you
reach the long straight before the tunnel, you'll get the Silver. Almost all the
way through the tunnel, you'll nab the Gold to progress. Remember that if you
crash once, or run out of time before you get to the next checkpoint, it'll be
an early end for you. So play it safe, and good luck to you!
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Event 13 - Eliminator
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Track: Dead Rock Canyon (Short)
1st Place - Gold
2nd Place - Silver
3rd Place - Bronze
This Eliminator isn't too bad, the traffic here is light, so this event is a
breather. You just have to keep up with the leader and take him out when you
have the opportunity. Avoid the wrecks from the Takedowns you did, and you
should be able to walk away without too much trouble. When it gets down to 1
opponent left, treat it like a Face Off and be careful. Because a single crash
can mean the difference of victory and defeat. Even when there IS a single
opponent remaining, it's still gonna be difficult to stay ahead, because of the
rubberband AI. Sucks, I know. Tell me about it. With that all done, we can now
end the Coupe Class. Ready for the GP?
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Event 14 - GP
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Track: "The Cut Berline" GP
1st Place - Gold
2nd Place - Silver
3rd Place - Bronze
The Coupe Class was long, but hey. At least you had some fun in it. That, or you
just don't like Coupes, but... eh, no matter. This GP can be more difficult,
depending on what happens. Let's finish this off.
Race 1 - Eagle Ridge Mountain (Marathon)
Another beautiful track I like a lot. The magnetic field effect illuminating in
the sky is one of my favorite things about the scenery. However, that's not
really helping with the strategy. There's pretty light traffic here, so this
race will be fairly easy, just watch out for the traffic in general. A 2 lapper.
Race 2 - Cool Water Valley (Short)
A slightly harder race because of course, the traffic had to increase in
frequency. This is a 3 lap race, so you're gonna have to keep your cool when
you're out in front. The sun blocking your view can be irritating as well, so do
some Takedowns to max out your boost meter.
Race 3 - Surf Side Island (Long)
An average race to finish off the Coupe Class. A balance in difficulty here, so
concentrate on your driving, and burn it up on the straights. Hopefully you'll
get another 6 points added when you finish.
After that show, you'll unlock the Supercar class! And from this point, get
ready to face high difficulties in that class. If you're not prepared for it, I
simply suggest that you stop right here and go away from the game for a little
while. Because you're in for some mayhem if you think you are.
---------------------------------------------------------
3.4: Supercar Class Events
---------------------------------------------------------
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Event 1 - Face Off 1
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Track: Twin Ferry Lakes (Marathon)
Starting this class right off the bat, we got a new car to unlock! Now just
because these cars are fast doesn't necessarily mean that you'll be more prone
to crashing. Besides that, this is not that hard of a Face Off to do, since the
traffic is fairly light, so it's not easy to crash. Even with how much traffic
there is, you still gotta be cautious with your speed. Only use boost on the
straightaways, and if you crash, well... you'll have to catch up. And when he
passes you, he'll just speed ahead and will leave you in the dust. Are you gonna
stand for that? Didn't think so. When you catch him, take his ass out, and keep
your lead. When you finish, you'll have the Tuned Supercar.
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Event 2 - Eliminator
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Track: Eagle Ridge Mountain (Short)
1st Place - Gold
2nd Place - Silver
3rd Place - Bronze
This Eliminator is really annoying. At this point, if you haven't already, turn
the Takedown Camera OFF in the Settings menu, because if you keep it on, you'll
end up getting sent into traffic and crash, even before you fully gain control
of your vehicle. Anyway, the key thing here is to not crash very early. You'll
end up being far behind the leader if you do. Try your damnest to avoid the
traffic. Even though you are in a Supercar, it's very easy to crash here. The
winding turns are absolute nightmares, because traffic can pop up without you
knowing, and you'll just slam right into it. Pretty much the reason why you want
to go on the outside part of the turn so you don't run the risk of crashing into
oncoming. Also, try not to do a lot of Takedowns if possible because of the
wrecks that hang on the road, like I've been saying throughout this walkthrough.
With enough luck, you'll get Gold on this, but like it matters, since
Eliminators don't have to be Gold for any trophies.
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Event 3 - Race 1
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Track: Cool Water Valley (Short)
1st Place - Gold
2nd Place - Silver
3rd Place - Bronze
Nothing hard, it's just you need to have patience, persistence, and caution in
order to win. Avoid the wrecks that are left from the Takedowns in the later
laps, and don't get pissed off if you crash. You'll catch up as long as you
avoid the traffic, slamming rivals off the road, and using boost on the
straights. Don't hesitate for a moment, too. Supercar events are long, so you'll
need to endure these in order to be successful. Hopefully you'll be able to Gold
this one without too much trouble. If you don't, then you can always come back
to this event later. Now, we head into two very relaxing events.
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Event 4 - Road Rage 1
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Track: Dead Rock Canyon (Long)
30 Takedowns - Platinum
20 Takedowns - Gold
12 Takedowns - Silver
6 Takedowns - Bronze
The Takedown requirement for Gold looks like it's a lot. Believe me, it's
nothing. Because there's not a lot of traffic on this track, so just slam 'em
away! For some reason, I spotted Hypercars in this event. Why is that? I dunno.
Anyways, this is a pretty stress relieving event, since you can literally slam
from side to side, Takedown after Takedown. The Platinum requires a whopping 30
Takedowns to get, which can be really easy if you just go at it. Seriously, this
relieved my stress and the Platinum looked easy. This is a great place to get
the "Unscathed" achievement/trophy as long as you don't crash yourself out and
be careful.
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Event 5 - Road Rage 2
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Track: Surf Side Island (Marathon)
30 Takedowns - Platinum
20 Takedowns - Gold
12 Takedowns - Silver
6 Takedowns - Bronze
Pretty much the same deal, except it's on a slightly longer track. Seriously,
there's like almost no traffic here, so go crazy here. Just be sure to not shunt
them or slam your rivals with the front of your car, because you'll get taken
down unfairly.
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Event 6 - Pursuit
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Track: "The Island Getaway" (Twin Ferry Lakes/Surf Side Island)
Targets: 4
3:15.00 - Platinum
3:30.00 - Gold
4:00.00 - Silver
5:00.00 - Bronze
When you start off, you'll notice that three of the four targets already have
their health down. What's up with that? Well, this was made to make getting Gold
easier. The trick here is to focus on one target at a time. Don't go for the one
with the lowest health immediately. Focus on the one with the highest health,
and take him out. And then go from there. There are two Supercars, one Coupe,
and one Hypercar. You'll likely stop them all when you're close to 6,000m
remaining. After flagging this event as Gold, you'll unlock the Cop Supercar,
the last Cop Car in the game.
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Event 7 - Face Off 2
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Track: "The Island Getaway" (Twin Ferry Lakes/Surf Side Island)
Not really anything hard here. This track takes nearly four minutes to finish,
so it's a bit of a long race. Besides, this Face Off isn't anything hard. Take
your rival down when possible, but keep in mind that he can keep up with you if
you just cruise through. Keep your boost in case you need it, and when
necessary, use it on the straights. He's like every other rival we've met
before. Without too much trouble, you'll win the now useless Advanced Supercar.
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Event 8 - Shakedown Preview 1
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Track: "The Run to the Water" (Twin Ferry/Eagle Ridge/High Dunes)
Vehicle: Hypercar
6:28.00 - Platinum
6:35.00 - Gold
6:45.00 - Silver
7:05.00 - Bronze
This is a really easy Preview. The time limit for Gold may look intimidating,
but you don't need to be flawless to Gold this event. Hell, you can even have 5
crashes, and STILL get Platinum! I guess they thought that because the Hypercar
is so fast, they were too generous enough with the time. So yeah, just boost
away through this long track that takes nearly 6 minutes to finish, and you'll
easily Plat this. Wow, a super easy event in the Supercar Class... that's
abnormal. To the Heatwave!
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Event 9 - Heatwave
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Track: Dead Rock Canyon (Short)
1st Place - Gold
2nd Place - Silver
3rd Place - Bronze
If you played the Eliminator back in the Coupe Class, than you'll pretty much be
familiar with this track and don't need a strategy to win. The Tuned Supercar is
your choice here, so get it out, and chain up those Heatwaves to the speed of
light! There's not a lot of traffic, so don't worry about it too much. This
event is a pushover, as long as you drift accordingly and avoid the traffic as
usual. The GP is unlocked now, but we're not quite done here. Let's go unlock
another car, shall we?
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Event 10 - Face Off 3
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Track: Eagle Ridge Mountain (Long)
The guy himself doesn't prove to put up a good race, even though he's got that
Prototype. He is fast, not gonna lie. But his light weight doesn't save him from
getting taken down, so do take him out once or twice to get that boost
advantage. Plus, you already know how this track looks. You really won't need a
strategy for this, it's a short 1 lap race after all, so you'll likely get this
with very few attempts, or maybe a single try. Now with all the Supercars
unlocked, time to put that Prototype to good use in the next event. And... oh
yeah, a shiny new achievement/trophy to go along with it!
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Event 11 - Race 2
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Track: Surf Side Island (Short)
1st Place - Gold
2nd Place - Silver
3rd Place - Bronze
This race annoyed me when I first went through it. Mostly because Takedowns
happen a lot on this track, so that's a consistent problem you're gonna be
running into when going into this on subsequent laps. Even though this is a
short track, it'll get hazardous for you pretty quickly, with the fast turns
coming up after each one early on. The traffic is pretty light, so there's no
need to worry about that. You'll have to look out for the smoke coming from the
wrecks to easily identify and avoid them at all times. Proceed with caution in
this event, because you're going to be crashing a lot. You'll likely have to go
through multiple attempts at this to get Gold. And that's a requirement!
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Event 12 - Shakedown Preview 2
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Track: Grasslands Proving Ground (Long)
Vehicle: Tuned Formula DD
1:45.00 - Platinum
1:50.00 - Gold
1:55.00 - Silver
2:10.00 - Bronze
At least this preview is a lot more quicker to complete. You're driving the
Tuned Formula DD, which is one of the fastest cars in the game, but it goes
through boost like mad. You'll have to take this into account when driving the
car, so keep those risks chaining. You can get by with just a single crash.
Though when you start to approach the jump to get INSANE amounts of air, slow
down a bit, because you don't want to land outside the track. When you land at
the turn, slow down a little to prevent crashing, and just keep on burning
through the rest of the track. If you want the Platinum, you'll want to finish
this Preview near flawlessly. After that, let's wrap things up at the Supercar
Class GP.
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Event 13 - GP
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Track: "The Yellow And Blue" GP
1st Place - Gold
2nd Place - Silver
3rd Place - Bronze
You've made it this far? Well, that's great! Fortunately, this GP isn't that
hard, so let's get to it. Take your Prototype for a spin, because it's the
fastest piece of equipment you have right now.
Race 1 - Grasslands Proving Ground (Short)
The easiest race in the GP. There's very light traffic, so you can drift around
the corners safely. Burn it up in the straights and light corners, and you'll be
on your merry little way! However, the AI is just as fast as you, so drift
through the corners as best as you can. Don't do a lot of Takedowns, either,
because IS 3 laps, and you'll likely hit wreck after wreck here.
Race 2 - Twin Ferry Lakes (Long)
Probably the hardest race here. There's a bit more traffic to deal with, and the
corners are tough to nail. Again, watch out for the wrecks that you've made, and
remember to use Danger Time to take someone down with you if needed. Another 3
lapper.
Race 3 - High Dunes Desert (Long)
Not an unpleasant way to finish off a GP. The corners CAN cause you to slow down
if you hug them too much, the jumps can throw you off the track and kill your
position, and the AI can catch up to you very easily at the slightest mistake.
On lap 2, it gets progressively harder. This is a race to see if you're good
enough for the Hypercar Class.
Assuming you came out of this with a Gold Medal, great work! You've now unlocked
the Hypercar Class! But now, the challenge ramps up once again! Not quite to
Supercar levels, but... yeah, it's gonna get harder from here. If you had a lot
of trouble here, the Hypercar Class will be suicide for you. Fortunately, they,
along with the Formula DDs, have the least amount of events.
---------------------------------------------------------
3.5: Hypercar Class Events
---------------------------------------------------------
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Event 1 - Eliminator
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Track: Cool Water Valley (Short)
1st Place - Gold
2nd Place - Silver
3rd Place - Bronze
Right off the bat, an annoying Eliminator. Fortunately, this isn't the hardest
one of the bunch, it's just a test to see how infrequently you can crash,
because I assure you that will kill your chances of winning. With enough luck on
your side, you'll be able to get through this with some amounts of traffic
tossed in there for good measure. Avoid doing a lot of Takedowns, because you'll
be completely left behind if you crash into a wreck. Unfortunately, that's about
it. Danger Time will help you out, so use it while you can. And for starting the
Hypercar Class, this event isn't a very welcoming one at that. If you want that
Advanced Hypercar, you'll have to get the Gold, and the only one where I
strongly recommend golding. You're gonna have to anyway to get those mileage
achievements. And just in time for the Road Rage coming up, too!
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Event 2 - Road Rage
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Track: Twin Ferry Lakes (Marathon)
14 Takedowns - Platinum
7 Takedowns - Gold
5 Takedowns - Silver
3 Takedowns - Bronze
This Road Rage is completely different. Only Traffic Takedowns are allowed.
Other types of Takedowns aren't counted. You may think this would be otherwise
difficult to do, but you're wrong. Your rivals tend to be right next to each
other a lot, which are a great alternative for Traffic Takedowns. You only need
7, which isn't much, since the Platinum requires double the amount. If you can,
slam your rivals into the traffic itself to get an odd number of Takedowns for
it. Knocking a rival into another will count as 2.
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Event 3 - Pursuit
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Track: "Mountain Madness" (Eagle Ridge Mountain/Twin Ferry Lakes)
Targets: 5
2:50.00 - Platinum
3:00.00 - Gold
3:10.00 - Silver
3:30.00 - Bronze
Been a while since you've been here. Anyway, don't choose the Cop Supercar.
Because if you slam or shunt the SUV, you'll end up getting vertically taken
down, which isn't fun. There are a lot of targets to take out, now. There's an
SUV, a Coupe, a Supercar, a Hypercar, and now a Formula DD. Obviously, focus on
one vehicle at a time. There's more traffic here, so please be careful. Chances
are that you'll take out the Formula DD before the Supercar, SUV, maybe the
Hypercar, but other than that, there's nothing else to explain. Just another
Pursuit with more targets.
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Event 4 - Shakedown
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Track: Dead Rock Canyon (Marathon)
Vehicle: Tuned Hypercar
3:00.00 - Platinum
3:05.00 - Gold
3:10.00 - Silver
3:35.00 - Bronze
You can get by this with a few crashes (I got it even with that on my first time
through), so that leaves some room for error. The amount of traffic may be
intimidating, but don't let that get to you. Avoid it like usual, and if you're
going for the Platinum, you'll want VERY few mistakes. The track overall is
pretty tame, with the exception of one VERY annoying sharp right turn, in which
you'll have to hug the arrow barrier to easily get through it. From there, it's
all about maintaining your speed through the place. Don't give up if you crash
twice, it's okay. Believe me, this Shakedown isn't the hardest, it's far from
impossible. When you get the Gold, the Tuned Hypercar will be yours. Anyway,
onto the Face Off to get that last Hypercar!
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Event 5 - Face Off
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Track: Surf Side Island (Marathon)
Not exactly the hardest Face-Off, but as long as you keep your act together,
you'll be able to flag this with a win easily. When it comes to the track
itself, you'll have to do as good as you can here as to avoid crashing, though I
crashed a lot here due to dumb mistakes, but I managed to pull myself together.
Eventually I caught up to him, shoved him off the road, and took as much time as
I needed to keep my lead and prevent him from passing me. The traffic here isn't
horribly bad, so make an effort to not screw up a lot, and you'll come out on
top. With the Prototype unlocked, we now have all the Hypercars with the second
to last Prototype achievement/trophy.
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Event 6 - Survival
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Track: "The Sunset Dream" (High Dunes Desert/Dead Rock Canyon)
20,000m - Platinum
15,000m - Gold
12,000m - Silver
6,000m - Bronze
Ouch... This Survival was pure Hell for me the first time I went through it.
Easily the hardest one in the game. This is purely based on your luck with the
traffic, and how carefully you can get through this place without crashing once.
I actually would not advise the Prototype here, but instead going for the
Advanced Hypercar. It's slower, yes, but it doesn't have as much mobility,
either. Hug the walls around the outside of the corners if you need to, and be
sure to slow down in them. Don't wanna crash out by hitting a wall or oncoming
traffic following up in the next turn, do you? Didn't think so. Now for a much
more relaxing event.
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Event 7 - Heatwave
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Track: High Dunes Desert (Marathon)
1st Place - Gold
2nd Place - Silver
3rd Place - Bronze
This Heatwave isn't too difficult, but it's still gonna be hard. Tuned Supercar,
it's going to be the fastest vehicle you'll have for this event. 2 laps of
burning through the desert, so you're going to be going faster and faster with
the car I recommended. The track itself isn't too bad, it just has little bits
of traffic here and there, and big jumps that will result in you going off the
track and kill your race position. So don't start chaining until after that
point. If you can avoid the traffic at high speeds, you'll be able to get a big
lead. The only thing you gotta watch out for is that there's a big hill after
the last orange arrow barrier. And if you are still chaining Heatwaves, you'll
fly upwards and crash into the top of the Start/Finish gate. So don't chain
Heatwaves for the whole track. Just let go of the chain when you start
approaching jumps like these, because they can throw you off your game. When you
win, head over to the Race.
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Event 8 - Race
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Track: Grasslands Proving Ground (Short)
1st Place - Gold
2nd Place - Silver
3rd Place - Bronze
Very little traffic here, so this is actually an easy race. As long as you don't
do a lot of Takedowns within the first and second half of the laps, you'll be
fine. Just be sure to drift around those tight bends where you could easily
crash. Nothing else to say about this place, really. It's a short track, so it's
obviously got 3 laps to go. Pretty quick race, too. Anyway, onto the GP!
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Event 9 - GP
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Track: "The Exotic GT" GP
1st Place - Gold
2nd Place - Silver
3rd Place - Bronze
Alright, driver. We got one last event to clear before we head into the Formula
DD league. Long and hard (no sexual pun intended), this GP is going to test you
if you're good enough.
Race 1 - Eagle Ridge Mountain (Short)
Right off the bat, the hardest race in the GP. There's some traffic here, which
can make things a bit complicated with the fact that it's a 3 lap race. So
Takedowns, unless they're desperately needed, are advised against in the first
two laps. The traffic can easily kill you if you're not careful.
Race 2 - Dead Rock Canyon (Short)
This is perhaps the easiest race in the GP. Traffic may be just around the
corners, so you may want to think and act quickly before ending your drifts.
Remember to boost on the straights, and take it easy in the corners. This is
another 3 lap race, go figure. Good luck on this.
Race 3 - Cool Water Valley (Long)
2 laps, this time. Not as difficult as the first race, but it can still prove to
be irritating at times. If you fall behind, get back to the lead as soon as
possible! Take the other drivers down to get boost, and be sure to dodge the
traffic as much as possible. With enough luck or skill, you'll get through this
without much of a hassle.
Concluding the Hypercar Class, we now have the final, and fastest, class
unlocked - The Formula DDs! If you've really struggled here in this class, then
the Formula DD Class will be a death wish for you. I strongly advise stopping
the game, going away for a while, and coming back when you've got the balls to
do these next series of events. Fortunately, like the Hypercar Class, there's 9
of them to complete. But hey, you're almost done in the game's main single
player mode!
---------------------------------------------------------
3.6: Formula DD Class Events
---------------------------------------------------------
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Event 1 - Heatwave
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Track: Surf Side Island (Long)
1st Place - Gold
2nd Place - Silver
3rd Place - Bronze
For an introduction to the Formula DD Class, this event already shows how effin'
hard these can be if you don't get your bearings straight. This last Heatwave
event is no pushover. There's quite a lot of traffic that you can easily crash
into, so you're gonna have to be on your toes for this event. Even if you're
fairly decent at the game, you'll probably have trouble getting freaking BRONZE,
for crying out loud. When you get the lead, don't hesitate. Maintain and extend
it for as long as you can, and keep yourself from booosting through the turns.
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Event 2 - Face Off
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Track: "Into the Valley" (Cool Water Valley/High Dunes Desert)
This last Face Off is not really that difficult, unlike what we've experienced
in the PREVIOUS event. As long as you acquire a Takedown or two and take caution
through the turns, weaving through traffic as you go along, you'll be fine. Not
to mention that this one will be a quickie, so yeah. After winning, you'll get
the useless Tuned Formula DD! Fascinating! If the first event wasn't a Heatwave,
then it would've been more useful! If you got Gold in all other Face Offs in the
game, you'll also get the "Road Warrior" achievement/trophy. Moving on.
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Event 3 - Shakedown
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Track: Eagle Ridge Mountain (Long)
Vehicle: Advanced Formula DD
1:55.00 - Platinum
2:00.00 - Gold
2:05.00 - Silver
2:20.00 - Bronze
This Shakedown isn't too bad, as far as the traffic goes. For the Gold time...
yeah, you'll have to be pretty much near flawless here. A single crash can
easily take it away from you unless you are able to cut through the corners.
There's VERY little room for error, don't hug the walls unless it's necessary.
What you NEED to be careful for is the traffic itself, and the corners that bend
hard. There aren't too many of them, but they still are hectic to power through.
If you can get away with your life and put up the Golden flag, you'll unlock the
Advanced Formula DD. Along with that, the "Burning Down The House"
achievement/trophy, provided you got Gold in all other Shakedowns.
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Event 4 - Race
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Track: Twin Ferry Lakes (Long)
1st Place - Gold
2nd Place - Silver
3rd Place - Bronze
This Race can get a little chaotic if you do a lot of Takedowns, but you really
can't help it, since the AI is everywhere in this event. Plus, there's some
traffic to deal with. A very important factor is that you need to do Takedowns
in order to get the boost you need, and drive to Hell and back in and out of
traffic to take the lead again. But even doing that, the rubberband AI is pure
insanity, that it's just unfair, so you keep taking them down and make the track
more hazardous for you. If you crash a lot in this event, you'll pretty much
have to settle for Bronze, but you need Gold on this last race. But if you're a
pro at handling these types of cars, then you probably won't need me for the
rest of the guide. Except maybe the Eliminator, but who knows? If you got Gold
in all other Race events in the game, you'll get the "Victory Road" and "Grands
Prix" achievements/trophies. Oh yeah, and you'll have all the cars at this
point, which are required for the mileage achievements.
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Event 5 - Pursuit
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Track: "The Dangerous 100" (Cool Water Valley/Surf Side Island)
Targets: 5
3:15.00 - Platinum
3:20.00 - Gold
3:50.00 - Silver
4:10.00 - Bronze
Not the hardest Pursuit in the world. I was expecting a sixth target, but then
again, the game cannot have more than 6 racers in general. Anyways, this Pursuit
is on a track with a lot more tight bends than usual, so you're gonna have to
drift your way through them to keep up with your targets. You'll have to avoid
crashing, since it's pretty easy to here, and focus on one target at a time.
Hopefully you won't have much trouble with this event. By getting a Gold on this
and all other Pursuits, you'll also get the "No Wild Goose Chase"
achievement/trophy for it.
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Event 6 - Road Rage
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Track: Dead Rock Canyon (Marathon)
20 Takedowns - Platinum
14 Takedowns - Gold
10 Takedowns - Silver
6 Takedowns - Bronze
This Road Rage has a bit of a twist. You cannot crash a lot. Yup, only a few
crashes, and you're done. Kinda dumb, I know. The traffic here isn't really that
bad, though you DO have to watch out for the bug where you get turned into the
other direction of the track when colliding into stuff, something I wish the
devs would fix, because that DOES happen. Be careful of that VERY annoying sharp
right turn, because it can kill your run if you don't drift there. And with the
last Road Rage finished with a Gold, you'll get the "Thunder Road"
achievement/trophy. Onto the last Survival.
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Event 7 - Survival
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Track: "The Great Escape" (Grasslands/Cool Water/Surf Side)
19,000m - Platinum
15,000m - Gold
12,000m - Silver
6,000m - Bronze
This one is slightly easier than the Hypercar Survival because the track is much
more straight, and doesn't have nearly as many corners. However, it's still very
hard with the traffic now being very common. Just be careful, and try to not
going into this, thinking it's gonna be easy, because it really isn't. Boost on
the straights, avoid traffic to Hell and back, and hug the walls on the corners
if needed. Kudos if you get the Platinum here. With that done with a Gold medal,
the "Outwit. Outdrive. Outlast" achievement/trophy will be yours. Now, onto the
demonically hard Eliminator.
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Event 8 - Eliminator
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Track: Twin Ferry Lakes (Short)
1st Place - Gold
2nd Place - Silver
3rd Place - Bronze
Survival being the worst event type in the game? Nah, it's actually Eliminators.
For your first time, you might not even get Gold, or in fact, never get past
this event. And since this includes the oh-so unfair advantage of the rubberband
AI, the Formula DDs (which means you'll be super fast), and the amount of
traffic here makes this one Hell of a challenge to beat. What's worse is that
this event is REQUIRED to place in to get the Formula DD Class GP opened up.
However, if you're just going after the trophies, I have some good news for you
- Eliminators don't require a Gold medal to get the Platinum Trophy, which means
you are pretty much done with the single player. But if you care about finishing
the game itself, then please proceed with extreme caution.
The first and most important rule is to NEVER BOOST WHEN YOU'RE OUT IN FRONT!
Only use it when you need to catch back up. And even then, the leader will get
an extremely extensive lead, so if that happens, you are better off restarting.
Drift around the corners when you feel it's necessary. Take the other drivers
down, but do be aware of their wrecks when you come around on subsequent laps.
Just play it safe. Hopefully you'll endure this Hell of an event with all the
chaos ensuing on the road, weaving through traffic, and possibly flood the
streets with remnants of the wrecks just so you could crash into them. I wish
you the best of luck with this event, and you may have to accept the Bronze if
you cannot get first, but it doesn't matter, since Bronze unlocks more events
anyway. Plus, there isn't an achievement/trophy tied to the Eliminators anyway.
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Event 9 - GP
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Track: "Works Wonders" GP
1st Place - Gold
2nd Place - Silver
3rd Place - Bronze
This is it. The final event in the game. And it's hard, like the rest of the
class. Hopefully after this GP, you won't feel completely pissed off, and just
get the mileage trophies, because I think that's the only thing left for you to
do in the game to get the Platinum Trophy. Unless you wanna play online with
your friends, then you can do that if you really have nothing else to do.
Race 1 - Surf Side Island (Lighthouse)
A big 4 lap race. It goes by fairly quickly. I strongly advise not doing
Takedowns unless it's the second half of the second lap. Be careful around the
corners when drifting, because traffic does tend to appear in those spots. Boost
on the straights, take it easy in the corners, and just relax. At least you got
that HORRIBLE Eliminator done.
Race 2 - High Dunes Desert (Short)
This one isn't too bad, either. Raw speed is king here, so do not slow down!
Takedowns are a necessity here to max out your boost, so go ahead and do those.
This is a 2 lap race, so it's not that long.
Race 3 - Grasslands Proving Ground (Marathon)
Of course, this last race is the hardest one because of the traffic. Don't want
to deal with that constantly, so just weave in and out, take the other drivers
out to max out your boost, and just be careful. If you got first in the last two
races, you won't have to worry about getting 4th or 5th, because you'll still
win even when finishing in those positions here.
If you got first place in the GP, then YOU WIN THE GAME! No, I'm serious! You
completed Dangerous Driving! Good job! Now go get the mileage
Achievements/Trophies, and play online all you want!
========================================
4.0: Online Multiplayer
========================================
Online mode is introduced in Version 1.04, much to the appeal to many players.
Done with the Dangerous Driving Tour? Wanna race against other players around
the world? Are you bored and want to play with friends? Select the Multiplayer
option, and get on the go! Multiplayer, especially with 5 other people, is
really great. However, no achievements/trophies to get online, so you're just
playing either competitively or for fun, depending on what you want.
Unfortunately, there's no "unranked" option, so you're gonna have to always play
ranked games unless 3 Fields Entertainment comes out with an update to the
online mode.
You can have up to a max of 6 players in a lobby, and only 1 player is required
to start a game. It won't be as fun with only a player or two, but it gets
chaotic with a full room of 6. There's currently two modes of online play.
-Race is your typical fight through traffic to win the race deal.
-Road Rage is where the Blues try to escape while the Reds hunt them down.
So despite the lack of an online Crash mode, the online does have SOMEthing to
have for you and your friends online. At least play this when you have nothing
else better to do in the game or you want to spend some time with your Dangerous
Driving friends. There may not be a lot of variety, but it's a blast to play.
The Takedown system is a bit iffy, but that shouldn't be much of a problem.
Now, here are some details that you should know about the online mode...
1. There's no handicap, unlike in Burnout 3 and Revenge. Whenever you're falling
behind, you'd get boost a lot more quicker, while the racer in the lead will get
boost normally. I mean, having no handicap in the online mode for the racers
falling behind is gonna be asking for some complaints. If you're falling WAY
behind the pack of racers, you're gonna have to be careful of where you drive,
because other than trying your best not to crash, that's the only way you're
gonna catch up.
2. Everyone will be the same car as the host. I'm not sure why this is the case,
it makes no sense, because Burnout 3, Revenge, and Paradise never did that,
since they were made by the guys at Criterion (well, you could have everyone use
the same vehicle through the settings manually in Paradise). I mean, it would've
been nice to independently choose your own car no matter what the host chooses.
3. You cannot start the game until all players are ready. Everyone must have a
green check mark next to their usernames in order for the lock icon to disappear
on the Start option. Although I have yet to test this, it'll probably be the
same, no matter how many players are in. If any of you have tested this before,
let me know.
4. Introduced in Version 1.08 of the game, there's a ranking system. The default
rank is 1,200 ELO. When you beat players, you get a set number of ranking that
will be added to your current ELO. When you are beaten by players, you'll lose
some ELO. If you quit an online race, you lose some ELO.
5. Despite this game not even being close to a year old... almost nobody is
playing this thing online. It's nearly dead. There's still very few people
playing this game, and if you get any in your room, go ahead and play with them
to start it up. Granted, they might end up quitting before you are able to
finish the race. But I hear that the Xbox One version has a lot more players.
6. You cannot choose the 9 Point 2 Point tracks, which is kinda stupid. I mean,
you can select all the other tracks for online, but you can't choose the Point 2
Point tracks. Hopefully in a future update, they'll add those so we can have 1
lappers.
7. There's a set number of laps you can put. You don't get to put the exact
number of laps that you want, you only have the ability to select a set number
of laps for the tracks. The laps can range from 1 to 10.
With all these details, the online can get pretty boring overtime. But if you
don't mind all those details, then it can get pretty fun. Whatever the case, do
what works best for you.
========================================
5.0: Leaderboards
========================================
Leaderboards are a good way to track the best records for you and other people
around the world. Your best records are recorded when you complete events in the
Tour. After finishing events, your stats will be recorded in comparison to the
Top Leaderboard. You can change the filter to Near You and Friends to see how
well you stack with them. And remember that you can also improve your own record
by doing better in the events. If any of your friends beat your score, you can
win your position back by doing better than them.
Leaderboards don't really reward anything, they just record your best records.
But if you want to work hard at getting a high position, then go for it.

7.0: Ending and Credits
========================================
Credit goes to a few of the Criterion guys at 3FE for making an epic, but
difficult and slightly unforgiving knock-off of Burnout 3: Takedown! I know a
lot of people have been getting pissed off because of the bullshit that happens
in the game, and it's really fun! You made a great racer with a fun, but also
dead online functionality! You have really caught the eyes of the Burnout
players and made a better example of what real-life dangerous driving would be
like!
Credit to 3 Fields Entertainment for hating and not caring for us fans and doing
their thing to make this game a part of reality.
Credit goes to my favorite pop, Dr. Pepper! The doc has made me stay up those
long hours with his sugary fizz (I don't mean it like that, k thx)!
Credit to online mode for relieving me of my stress from the rubberband AI
insanity.
Credit goes to Special European Friend for showing me this cool game.
Other credits!
Money, for allowing me to afford a Playstation 4 Slim and the game itself.
Bed, for relaxing my toxic attitude and allowing me to do better the next day.
You, for reading this FAQ.
