FOREWARD STUFF
==============
Totally Rad? A Walkthrough? Well, yes. Despite being the game with the most
retarded dialogue (albeit funny as all hell), it is a decent platformer. If you
can forgive the twenty-thousand different-looking portraits for the main
characters, the horrible graphics, ghastly dialogue, and unexplicable story
line, this is a pretty cool game.
So why a walkthrough? I used to think this was a bitch-ass hard game. I also
used to suck horribly at video games. I still do. So if you're in the same boat
as me (probably not) and insist on beating this game, but are having
difficulty, well, allow me to enlighten you. Put on your leather vests and
hi-top sneakers and get ready for some PWNING!
And if you happen to know the names of the Act 2-4 bosses, I'd appreciate it if
you'd let me know, 'cuz my naming scheme is...
CONTENTS
========
1. Magic
2. Bosses
3. Mini Bosses
1. MAGIC
--------
Magic is vital to your survival on the rough streets of "Totally Rad". Magic is
executed by pulling up the magic screen (Start button) and selecting a spell
with A.
Jump: (A) - Allows you to jump...
Ki Blast: (B) - This is the bread and butter of your assault. It does little
damage, but can handle most enemies.
Cast Spell: Up+B - You'll need this...
OFFENSIVE MAGIC
===============
..but you won't need this!!
DEFENSIVE MAGIC
===============
Name Symbol Effect
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-----------
Full Heal | (Heart) | Heals you to full life.
Half Heal | (1/2 Heart) | Restores life equal to half your max
life.
Time Stop | (Clock) | Enemies are frozen, allowing you to pass
through them.
Invulnerability | (Stick Figure) | For a brief time, you take damage from
nothing.
TRANSFORMATION MAGIC
====================
JAKE: (Sneaker) - Transforms you back into Jake, thus allowing you to cast
Elemental and Defensive magic. (Attack Power = 1)
TIGER: (Paw) - Transforms you into a tiger-like creature who is invulnerable
while jumping, but can only attack while on the ground. Attack has limited
range. (Attack Power = 4)
BIRD: (Wing) - Transforms you into a strange winged creature that can fly and
throws boomerangs. (Attack Power = 3)
FISH: (Fish) - Transforms you into an amphibious ninja with a fast attack and
high jump. (Attack Power = 2)
2. BOSSES
---------
Act 1: RUBYLLIA
Transformation: Jake
Strategy: Jake absolutely PWNS Rubyllia in his normal form. Just hit him in the
ruby thing and he'll go down quickly. Heal if necessary.
Act 2: BRAIN GUY
Transformation: Fish
Strategy: The Fish's high attack speed will help you greatly when battling this
guy.
Act 3: FISH GUY
Transformation: Fish
Strategy: Keep your distance and thrash him with the Fish's throwing stars.
He'll shoot two fish at you, then charge. Then he'll back off, shoot one fish,
charge again, back off, shoot one fish, and charge. Then he starts all over
again. He'll only charge as far as you are, so move away from the edge of the
screen to lure him ^_^ then back off when he charges in and hammer him with
your throwing stars. This is probably the toughest boss since he does so much
damage.
Act 4: SKELETON GUY
Transformation: Bird
Strategy: I'm not kidding when I say you can beat this guy in about ten
seconds. Just hang around at head level and let loose your flurry of
Boomerangs. This guy is an absolute joke.
Act 5: EDOGY
Transformation: Bird
Strategy: For an end boss, Edogy is extremely lame. Fly around at his head
level and evade his two attacks: A trail of orbs which he shoots in a circular
motion (easy to dodge) and tracking bomblets of fire (slightly more
challenging, but still a joke). Whenever he lowers his sword, fire away! His
second form is the same thing only he's a bit shorter and on roller skates.
Repeat the same strategy and Edogy will soon be gonzo.
3. MINI BOSSES
--------------
The Mini Bosses seem to be more challenging than the Act Bosses, so I thought
I'd do a section on these guys.
Act 1: Barrel Monster
Transformation: Any, but if you want some serious PWNAGE, go for the Fish.
Strategy: This guy is actually not challenging at all. He's a regular enemy
later in the game. I especially like using Fish on him as it will destroy his
barrels as well. He'll be destroyed in a few volleys.
Act 2a: Mark Kistler Clone
Transformation: Tiger or Bird.
Strategy: If you go with the tiger, slide right up to Kistler and slap him
around a few times. He'll go down quickly.
Act 2b Fish Monster
Transformation: Fish or Bird
Strategy: Keep your distance and fire away. Watch out for his spears.
Act 3a: Scorpion Demon
Transformation: Fish
Strategy: Another regular enemy guy. Blast him to hell with your Fish's ninja
stars.
Act 3b: Sea Monster
Transformation: Fish
Strategy: Keep your distance and blast him with ninja stars. Not too tough.
Act 4: Plant Monster
Transformation: Any except Tiger
Strategy: Knock the string of beads off of his head five times, then wax him
when he opens his mouth to fire those slow-moving and ineffective projectiles.
Acton 5a: Drill Robot
Transformation: Any
Strategy: Dodge any projectiles he trows, then his eye will pop out and start
bouncing around. DO NOT ATTACK THE EYE! Just let the eye bounce all around and
over you and just smack the robot with your attacks. The robot becomes insanely
difficult if he gets his eye back OR if his eye is lost off screen, so remember
to keep the eye somewhat close by as well.
Act 5b: Alien with Gun
Transformation: Any except Tiger, but Bird is best.
Strategy: It took me awhile, but I finally found a pattern that this guy always
follows provided you maneuver correctly. Refer to the following diagram:
--x_______x--
He'll start by charging at you and firing his gun. Go all the way to the x
opposite where the miniboss is shooting and kneel there. The shots should miss
you completely. Now the boss will start hopping towards you, soon he'll do a
big jump, that's when you run underneath him jump and shoot him in the face.
You should get 2-3 shots in. Now continue to the other side, kneel, and repeat.
It will take some time, but he'll be owned before long.
