I. Intro
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Power Blazer is another really good but hard platform game for the NES, the game
was made by Taito and the name is a lot like Taito's other game "power blade",
just like in power blade you'll visit 7 stages and you can pick out which stage
you'll start with. Your weapon is boomerang which you can make stronger by
picking up power-ups. The music and the bosses are also exactly the same as in
power blade, I don't know why this game was replaced by power blade for the US
and Europe, maybe the game was a bit too hard or they wanted a cooler character
for US/UE market? Anyway the game is very fun and challenging, and if you like
power blade and/or platform games than you're going to like this as well.

II. Story

It's 2191 and the entire planet was being controlled by one powerful master
computer, then one day, something went wrong with the master control program.
Chaos ensued as people panicked! Now its up to Nova to save the world by
destroying the master computer.

(G) Power up
+===========+

This power-up makes the reach of your boomerang longer,  pick up more of these
power-ups and it'll go even further.

(P) Power up
+===========+

This power up makes your boomerang stronger and you can also shoot trough
enemies.

(N) Power up
+===========+

If you already have the (P) power up than picking this up will give you back
your weak boomerang.

Big heart
+========+

The big heart gives you a lot of health of your health back, this heart can
only be found at some places, the enemies won't give them when you destroy them.

Small heart
+==========+

The small heart gives you a little bit of your energy back, this heart unlike
the big heart can only be found by destroying enemies.

(B) Bomb
+=======+

The bomb will destroy every weak enemy on the screen when used, bigger enemies
will be wounded, best used when there are a lot of enemies overwhelming you or
for weakening bosses. To use the (B), bring the item menu up and select the (B),
than go back to the game and press select.

(E) Energy
+=========+

The (E) can be used to get all your energy back, use it when you are in trouble
and low on health. To use the (E), bring the item menu up and select the (E),
than go back to the game and press select.

V. Walkthrough
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

========
Sector 1
========

The first level starts with a series of tanks, walk forward and time your jump
so that the bullets won't hit you, after the tanks you'll come across a yellow
robot, wait until he turned his back and destroy it than jump into the hole.
When you've landed, quickly destroy another yellow robot and get the big heart,
go down and go down again by the ladder to go to the next screen. Go to the
right and get on the moving platform, wait for the other to go down and jump.
Go further and destroy some more of the robots and get the extra life, than
jump on the moving platform when its on its lowest, wait for it to go up and
jump to the next platform, be careful tough because this one will fall down,
after that go up the ladder.

Go to the left and go up the moving platform, jump onto the small platform and
jump again, destroy the robot and go up the ladder again, go to the right and
climb up the fence, than destroy the robot by attacking him when he's shooting
and go further. Climb up the other fences and destroy the other two robots the
same way, after that go a bit further until you see the yellow robot, wait until
he's turned around and than destroy it, go up the ladder and go trough the door.

Boss (Yellow robot)
-------------------

The first boss isn't so hard, the only thing that he does is teleport somewhere
randomly in the room and shoot into five directions, the bullets are pretty
slow so they are easily avoidable. To destroy him you'll have to wait until he
teleports somewhere near you and then hit him, you don't have to use bombs.

Sector 2 (CGLWEOTC)
===================

Go down the ladder, destroy the robot and get the bomb on the left, the best
thing to do is keeping the bomb for the boss. Than go back to the right and jump
over the gaps and destroy the pink floating robots. Than when you're back on
land destroy the pink monkey and go further, destroy the second monkey from off
the ledge so that he can't hit you. Go down the ladder or down the hole and go
down, pass the flames quickly and go down the ladder. There will be a boomerang
thrower waiting for you, if you have a powerup that extents the reach of your
boomerang than you can easily kill him without getting, if you don't than you
have to be quick.

After you killed him go down and avoid the flames, walk further and kill the
head, behind the head is a hidden wall, so jump to the right and get the E
and the extra life, go back and go down the ladder. Follow the way and get the
big heart, destroy the robot and go up the ladder. Now comes a hard part, you'll
have to walk as far as you can on the ledge when you make the jump and jump as
early as you can. Than jump on the moving platform and than on the disappearing
platform, after that jump back on the normal platform and go to the right, now
another hard part comes, here you also must jump at the very last moment so you
don't have to walk to far on the next platform. Once you survived that, you must
jump from platform to platform again and go up the ladder in the end. Go to the
left and destroy the big monkey, than go up another ladder, kill the head before
going into the door because it can still hit you.

Boss (dragon)
-------------

This boss is probable the hardest boss in the game, it has two attacks, the
first one is the fireball and the second one is the roll. If you still have the
bomb than use it now to weaken him. It seems that he always knows what you are
going to do next so it's useless to try and avoid his attacks, the best thing
to is standing close to him and keep shooting him very fast, if you have your
boomerang powerup than he'll die very fast.

Sector 3(CNLWEOTC)
==================

The first part is pretty straightforward, just destroy the bouncing monkeys
quick before they become annoying, than go down the ladder and get the bomb, go
further, destroy the robot and go up the ladder. Quickly walk past the crushers
and go up the ladder to the next part, then walk past the next two crushers,
go up and go further, kill the boomerang throwing kid. Get the extra life
and go down the ladder on the left, destroy the robot and go down the ladder.
Get the E and go down another ladder. Kill the boomerang throwing kids and go
down again, now comes a bit harder part, there will be things coming from the
ceiling and they'll shoot bullets at you. Just move quick and be careful, at
the end of the way a boomerang throwing kid will be waiting, kill him and go up.
Get the big heart and go to the right, destroy the two robots and go trough the
door.

Boss (unit droid)
-----------------

The attacks from this boss are random, he'll shoot at you and jump over and
shoot at you, the best thing to do is just standing somewhere and than start
shooting, bombs shouldn't be necessary.

===================
Sector 4 (MNLWEOUP)
===================

The first part is pretty straightforward again, the orange things that appear
all around you sometimes aren't so hard, just shoot the one on the left and
quickly move forward, the frogs are a bit harder, you'll have to shoot them
fast before they become a problem. When you're at the end, go up the ladder,
wait until the robot turns and than shoot it in the back. Destroy the other two
robots and go down, than wait again until the robot is out of your way before
shooting him and go down the ladder, destroy another robot and go down another
ladder, go further and kill the plant, watch out for the green goo falling from
the ceiling and get the extra life, than walk to the right and get the bomb.
Go up the ladder and go further , shoot the green things hanging on the ceiling,
destroy another plant and get the big heart. Than go down and kill the green
worm, walk to the right killing all the worms and avoiding the green slime from
the ceiling until you reach the door, go a bit further and get the E laying in
the corner.

Boss (Hive)
-----------

In power blade this boss was easy as hell, but now its pretty hard, to kill it
you must destroy all the openings from the hive, but when they open bees will
come out. The best way to kill him is standing in the right or left and keeping
shooting and jumping until the opening is destroyed, after that do the middle
ones and than the last one on the left or right. Use the bombs when the hive
opens up.

===================
Sector 5 (MNAWEOTC)
===================
Go forward and destroy all the bouncing monkeys on your path, this is the
hardest part in the game, the best way to get trough is to destroy the monkeys
as fast as you can and don't walk away from because they will follow you anyway.
When you reach the end, go up the ladder and kill the zombie, the zombie will
stand back up after a while so you have to be quick. After you went up another
ladder, kill another zombie and go up again, get the E and the extra life and go
further, go down and get the bomb and go down again. Walk to the left and
ignore the fishes that jump up out of the water, after a long way of fish
(the programmers must have been pretty lazy when they made this level) get the
heart and kill the zombie, go forward and kill another zombie, than enter the
boss room.

Boss (Frankenstein)
-------------------

The next boss is hard, his attacks are really unpredictable so that really makes
this fight hard, the best thing to do is to stay close to him so that when he
jumps, he doesn't jump on you.

===================
Sector 6 (MNAWEITP)
===================

When the level starts destroy the flying robots and go up to the next screen,
destroy another two flying robots and use the moving platform to go further.
Now comes a bit tougher part, but if you already did the earlier levels than
this should be doable, quickly jump from platform to platform and go up again.
Go to the right and get rid of all the monkeys, go down the ladder at the end.
Quickly jump down so that you can destroy the flying robots and go to the right
again, go down and to the right again, go up at the end and go to the right
again, the big pink robots aren't so hard, you can duck to avoid there bullets
and when they shoot lower you can easily jump over them. Go down at the end and
destroy another pink robot, jump over the platforms and go up. Avoid the
flamethrowers and go up again, jump from platform to platform and go trough the
door.

Boss (Green robot)
------------------

This boss does follow a pattern, he will go from the left to the right and when
he's in the middle he'll shoot a lightning bolt at you. Keep walking from the
left to the right and throw a boomerang in the middle, when the boss goes to the
other side again he'll be hit by it if you're lucky, do that until he's death.

===================
Sector 7 (MNAPEIUP)
===================

The first part of the level exists out of shooting the red flying robots, after
that comes a white big robot, destroy it and go further, destroy the head on the
wall and go down the gap. You'll land on the E, go to the left and go down the
hole, than go to the right and destroy the pink robot, watch out for the things
falling down from the ceiling, after that be careful when you're walking over
the bridge, some parts will fall down. Destroy the head on the wall again and
go down, then go trough the door and the last battle will begin.

Boss (master computer)
----------------------

The first form is a lot like the first boss, he'll randomly appear from
somewhere and fire a shot, he will always appear above you so you don't have to
move much, when he appears walk a bit to the left or right and shoot him.

Boss (bubble machine)
---------------------

The second form is some weird thing sitting in the middle of the room making
bubbles come at you, if you don't have an upgraded boomerang than you'll have
to stand close to the machine and hit the yellow part, which is pretty hard
because of all the bubbles. But if you concentrate on avoiding the bubbles and
attacking the machine from time to time that you should make it. If you do have
the upgraded boomerang than you can just stand in one of the corners and attack
the boss from over there. After you destroyed him you've saved the city and
finished the game.

VI. Enemies
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

--Yellow robots--

These yellow robots just walk from the right to the left, the best way to
destroy them is to attack them when there backs are turned.

--Small bleu robots--

These robots are almost the exact same enemies from mega man 2, you can only
hit them when they are shooting and they go very fast when you get near them.

--Big white robots--

You only come across these at the end of the first level, and as with the small
robots you can only hurt them when they have there arms open to shoot at you.

--Pink floating robots--

There are two versions of this enemy, the first one is the floating ghost that
comes at you floating up and down and the second one just homes in on you, both
aren't really quick so they are defeated easily.

--Pink monkey--

The pink monkey is a lot bigger than the white monkey, he doesn't do much more
than walk at you and harm you by hitting you, destroy it quick before it has a
chance to do that.

--White monkey--

The white monkey bounces around a lot which makes it harder to hit him,
sometimes a bird drops the monkey.

--Flamethrower--

Flamethrowers will do a lot of damage when they hit you, just walk past them
fast.

--Grenade shooting droid--

This robot will sit on a spot and shoot at you, the bullets will go up a bit and
come down. The best way to destroy him is to stand close to it so that the
bullets won't hit you very easily.

--Boomerang shooting kid--

This kid looks exactly like you and has the same attack, the range of his
boomerang isn't so good so if you have a boomerang with a good range than you'll
be okay.

--Head on wall--

There are two heads but both do basically the same time, spit out bubbles. They
are pretty easy because they're big and don't move so they shouldn’t be a
problem.

--Worms--

Worms are really irritating if you don't kill them soon enough, they'll start
hopping around and then they aren’t easy to hit with your boomerang.

--Slime--

This is only hanging on the ceiling, it drops down when you get near it and its
hard to see it so be careful.

--Zombie--

The zombie walks very slow so he shouldn’t be a problem, but be aware that after
you killed he'll stand up gain.

--Plant--

The plant shoots out some stuff once in a while which is hard to avoid so try to
be careful and kill him quick.

--Guns on ceiling--

Somewhere in the game some guns will all of a sudden pop up from the ceiling,
they'll shoot bullets from time to time who are hard to avoid.

-Fishes--

The best thing to do is not try to kill the fishes because they're pretty fast
and trying to kill them would be a waste of time, instead just run away from
them.

--Big pink robots--

These robots can shoot on a low and normal height, duck when you attack them and
when they're about to shoot jump over the bullets.

--Five orange things--

These things will all of a sudden appear out of nowhere and start homing in on
you, the best thing to do is destroy one and than going further.

--Frogs--

The frogs can take some damage before they die, but before it does that it'll
shoot bullets at you, kill them quick before too many bullets fly around.
