                              1.Introduction

This is my translation and guide for the Japanese only game, Pachinko 365. Why
did I write this? Well  mostly as a practice translation exercise. But also
because I want everyone to be able to play every N64 game and experience them as
if they were new. Making an actual translation patch for most games would be
unnecessary, but a guide would certainly help with most games.

The manual for this game is incredibly detailed, and quite hard to understand
unless you are familiar with pachinko. They go into a lot of detail about
specifics of each machine. This is to help you decide which machines are worth
playing the most.

The U.K. Publication, N64 magazine did not review this game, but they gave
another game, Heiwa Pachinko 12%. From this you can see that these games are
probably not worth playing, unless you are trying to complete every N64 game.

Why does this game exist? It seems that people want to practice their Pachinko
at home too. I suppose the real “fun” in this game is gathering basic knowledge
about all the machines, then combining that with knowledge about how the
parlours operate and which machines are paying out the most. Then using that
knowledge to exploit the game and win as much as possible.

The real meat of this game is in the 365 challenge mode, in which you have a
year to make as much money as possible from three parlours. Various events
happen every day and by talking to other customers you can learn information
about which machines are paying out the most.

The probability rushing pattern, I believe, refers to the roulette or pictures
that show up in the middle of the game boards, when this results in a rush of
balls.

The game requires 121 pages on a controller pak to save.

I hope this translation helps somebody complete this game. Its funny to think,
but this game has probably never been completed by anyone outside of Japan.
Good luck!

                            2.Manual Translation

                               Back of the Box

In one year, how much can you win?

The player can challenge the machines of three individual pachinko parlours. In
order to win, you need not only technique but, it is essential to talk to the
customers at the parlours, and collect information.
Indeed, this is the true feeling of a Pachinko battle!

The machines of the Pachinko maker, Heiwa are faithfully simulated. However in
the Pachinko research mode the Pin and Probability can be adjusted!
Includes three machines with save ability, the originator of the plume machine
“Zero Tiger” and the old nostalgic game Center Chu Stone!
Center Chu Stone can be played in 2 player model. Score a triple and rattle the
balls using the 3D stick!

                                 Contents Page

To pachinko fans all over the country, we are sorry to have kept you waiting.
Pachinko 365 was not just made with the aim to research pachinko machines. The
pachinko parlours within the game have been individually prepared, and the
comings and goings of 365 days of gaming can be experienced in this ground
breaking pachinko simulation. The pachinko machines that appear in this game are
faithfully reproduced from the real machines by the manufacturer, Heiwa. Of
course, for the exhaustive research of the machines, they function perfectly.

                          Pages 4-15 Basic Information

How to start the game
Please plug a controller into port 1 of the console. If you connect it to any
other port, it will not be possible to play the game. For the head to head
battle mode, please connect a controller to port 2 (see page 26). Please set the
cartridge correctly into your Nintendo  64 and turn the power switch on. (At
this time, please do not touch the 3D stick). When it has powered on, the demo
screen will be displayed. Data back up uses the controller pak. If you wish to
save your data, please insert a controller pak into the controller before
turning the power switch on.

                                 Mode explanation

During the display of the demo screen, if you press the start button the title
screen will be displayed. If you press Start again the mode select screen will
appear. Pachinko 365 has three modes. Use the 3D stick or the D pad to choose a
mode, and the A button to select it. When a mode is highlighted, an explanation
of that mode will appear at the bottom of the screen.

Real Challenge Simulation
This is a challenge mode set over 1 year, at three pachinko parlours. Please try
talking to many characters in the story to get secret information. This mode is
surely a test of ones intellectual power. (see page 16)

Pachinko machine research
5 machines have been perfectly transplanted into 3D! Of course, including their
probability, regulation, rattle the pins with the 3D stick! Data displays are
also perfected, and the originator of the Plume Type machine, Zero Tiger has
been completely recreated in 3D! (see page 22)

How to expose the secrets of the Pachinko Parlours!
In the 3 pachinko parlours, hide three big secrets. To key to learning them is
known by the characters in the parlours. To identify who has this information
you must ask many questions. Accumulate the information and analyse it, and the
secrets of the 3 parlours will draw closer.

Machines that often payout
In real Pachinko parlours there are rumours of machines that “often payout”.
“Its the machine that's third from the entrance...” In these three parlours
there are also similar rumours.

Easy jackpot days
At every parlour, there are also said to be days where jackots are easy to get.

Events
You should definitely go to the parlour on festival days, National Holidays, and
re-openings. We have to make use of the service time and fan appreciation
events!

Gather information by any means!
When searching for those “machines that often payout”, it is vital to gather
information. Using these 4 following methods, please look for those winning
machines.

Talking to customers
This is a point for the simulation mode. Talk to the many characters that are
walking around the parlours. However it is very important to distinguish
between, the people that tell you juicy information and the people that tell you
useless information.

Pachirobi
In two of the parlours, there is an information terminal, or Pachirobi, is
placed near the counter. It lists the number of jackpots, the number of cleared
games and the number of addicting machines from the last three days. If you get
close to the terminal, you will be asked “would you like tos see the
Pachirobi?”, if so, please press the A button. You can look at the information
from various machines using the A button. Press the B button to return to the
selection screen, and to return to the parlour.

Look at the pins
However you say it, the life of Pachinko is in the pins. They are not just pins,
as a lot of information is accumulated in them. Until you can comprehend
information, please check the condition of the pins.
When the finger cursor is displayed on a machine, if you press C right, a close
up of the machine will be displayed. Using the 3D stick or the D pad you can
move the camera. The controls for returning to the main view, and enlarging and
shrinking the screen are the same as when you are playing (see page 7).

The In store Window
During pachinko play, on the bottom left of the screen, a window showing the
situation in the parlour is shown. Please use it to check the dollar amounts of
other machines in the parlour, and use that information when you choose a
machine.
If you press C up during pachinko play, the window will shrink, at that time use
the 3D stick or the D pad to move the view of the window around, and you will be
able to see any machine.

                    Pages 22-25 Pachinko Research Mode

Using 3D polygons these recreated machines can be thoroughly researched. Using
the pin and probability adjustments,  certain victory data can be collected at
one's heart's content. For pachinko players, this is certainly very useful!

Machine Selection
On the mode select screen, please select Pachinko Research, and the machine
selection screen will be displayed. Pushing up or down on the D Pad or 3D stick
you can select a machine, please confirm by pressing A.
Here the old and nostalgic names of the machines are displayed. During research
play, you can shoot balls using the 3D stick, giving it a sense of realism.

Contents Selection
When the machine is selected, one can choose to play the machine or view the
data.

Research Play
You can choose to play any of the 5 Pachinko machines. You start with zero
balls, and can go into the minus numbers. The pins and the probability
adjustment can freely be set (see page  24-25). It is a mode you can use for
data collection. Also the adjusted data can be saved per machine.

Machine Data
Each pachinko machine's fundamental data is introduced here. If you press the B
button you will return to the main screen.

Reach Action
The display screens of saved machines Reach Screens are complied here, it is a
very useful mode. You can select the animation for jackpots too. On a real
pachinko machine, these are very difficult and rare to see. Using these screens,
lets reduce our stress!

Changing the conditions
If you press C down during Research play, the command window will open. Here you
can change the settings of each machine.

Using the Dpad and the 3D stcik you can select an item and press the A button to
confirm. When you have finished changing the settings, press the B button to
return to the command window. If you press the B button again, the command
window will close.

Pin Adjustments
The angle of each pin and each pinwheel can be changed. From very loose to very
tight. Please enjoy researching the machines using your favourite pin
adjustment.
Using the 3D stick and D pad you can select any pin, press the A button to
select them and rotate the 3D stick. If you move the stick a little, the pin
will slightly be adjusted, if you press C down the pin will be placed in an
upright position. When you have finished adjusting the pins, press the B button
to return to the command window.

Exchange percentage
Within to 2-4 yen the exchange percent can be freely determined. After
exchanging an amount of money please establish a useful standard. Using up and
down on the D pad you can set a desired amount.

Percentage Adjustment
For the CR Peach Pie V, CR RYU_OH and CR Cyclone
In reality pachinko machines do not have percentage adjustment, but in this game
for the purposes of research, the percentage of jackpots can be adjusted,
between the ratios of 1/1 to 1/999.

Data save
Save the data of the current machine.

Clear data
Clear any data on the current machine.

What is the Twice continued probability changer?
A machine with a  probability change pattern effects jackpot, until the third
jackpot the probability of a jackpot remains the same. When a jackpot occurs,
the probability of both small and big jackpots is increased. Below the middle of
the screen, the small “attacker” opens easily, and probability of a round
starting increases, and it becomes harder to lose balls.

What is the Once continued probability changer?
When a jackpot occurs on a machine with a  Once continued probability changer,
the probability of getting another jackpot increases until that jackpot is
reached. Normally, the centre digital probability counter and small digital
probability counter also increases, but like the Peach Pie V, in this game, the
small digital probability counter cannot change. However, during the changing of
the probability, the small “attack” below the centre of the screen releases for
a much longer time, during one small jackpot it releases twice, meaning that it
is harder to lose balls.

Number of Best rounds   8
Number of prize balls   All 3
Average number of Jackpot balls About 600
1000 yen boarder line  3000 balls       4000 balls          Unlimited

              3 yen     11                  9                   6

What is Hanemono (Plume Type) ?
It is a machine with a plume structure in the centre, from which Jackpots are
released. When a jackpot occurs, a part below the centre of the board opens and
closes the plume twice, and balls enter.  If those balls enter the Jackpot start
hole (V zone), the plume opens and closes once more, this is very likely to
happen. Like the Seven it is not expected that large balls will come out but,
the number of balls released is good, and it is said that each model has its
different quirks.

Centre Chu Stone
Type                            Triple
Number of prize balls           All 15

The triple stops when a prize is won .
Regarding the part in the middle, it opens into two channels for a triple when a
prize is won. When that finishes, the previously won balls will be released, and
the next balls won will be effectively left at the top. To the right and left of
the part in the middle are another 4 channels, which also open. When they are
opened, both channels of balls rush down into the triple system and are released
as prizes.
