1. Introduction
===============
Welcome to my FAQ for Backyard Football. The Backyard sports games have been
around for a while and this is one of the installments. Backyard Football for
the GBA uses the kids the series has had but also adds some NFL players into
the mix. The NFL players are made to look like they would as a kid. This FAQ
will tell you about all of the elements of the game and give you the stats of
all the players.

Pickup Game
***********
The first selection in the menu is pickup game. When you select it the
difficulty level screen comes up. You can select three difficulty levels. Each
difficulty will turn on/off certain options.
Easy: Power-Ups: Off Fatigue: Off Turnovers: Off
Medium: Power-Ups: On Fatigue: Off Turnovers: On
Hard: Power-Ups: Off Fatigue: Off Turnovers: On
If you want you can push down to customize instead of having a preset options.
Press A to move onto the next screen.
Once you move on the game will randomly generate a match. You will always be
the home team. You have no decision over who you play, where you play, or what
weather it is. From here on you play the game like normal.

Exhibition Game
***************
Just like a pickup game, a difficulty screen will come up after choosing
exhibition game. The difficulties are the same as a pickup game so you can
choose your difficulty, then move on.
The next screen is team select. You can choose from any of the teams in the
Frontyard or Backyard conference. Pick your team with the A button to move on.
As you get closer to your game the field select screen will come next. You can
choose from all of the fields and turn on or off weather. Now that you have
done this the game is almost ready.
One of the last screens is the leather or laces screen. This is just like a
coin flip. A kid is covering part of a football and you have to guess if he is
covering laces or leather. If you guess correctly you pick teams first, if you
are wrong the computer will pick first.
On the next screen you get to finally pick your team. Depending on who won the
coin toss (that's what I'll call it) that person picks first. Make sure you
have in mind who you want because you never know who the computer will take.
Once you have picked 7 players you go to the team photos section. This section
just shows you the picture of the players on your team in your teams'
uniforms.
You are now done setting up your exhibition team. The screen of who is playing
who, where, and any other settings will be shown. Press A to start your game.

Season Play
***********
If this is your first time selecting season play then only the create new coach
option will show up. If you have already started a season then the load season
option will be there too.
Just like the other ways to play select the difficulty. If you haven't noticed
it seems that each time they start adding new things in the different ways to
play.
Anyway, after selecting your difficulty, move on. Next screen is the select
home field screen. Here you just pick what field you want as your teams' home
field. Move onto the team select. If you have read any of my FAQ so far it
isn't too hard to figure out what to do.
Again we hit a player select screen. This time however you get to choose your
whole team without the computer taking one that you want. When you have picked
your team the boring part is over! You are now at the season menu.
As we hit another menu, I won't go into much detail about each.
Begin Season: If you have just started your season then this starts your first
game. The option changes to Next Game after the season starts.
League Standings: Check out the standings of every team. Just press Left/Right
to switch leagues.
Team Statistics: Find out how well any player has done on a certain aspect of
the game. You can also see the compiled statistics of the whole team.
Team Strategy: Pick and swap plays to fit your strategy.
Options: Turn on/off music, commentary, and auto-save.
Quit Game: Leave the season. If you want to save you can.
{Practice}
Need to practice your skills enter this well-named choice. You can use a saved
team (might be season team) or make a new one. You can either be offense or
defense and you get to choose where you start. If you choose to start on the 50
yard line for example, you will always start your play from the 50. If you
score then you do the extra point thing, then start a play at the 50.
{Multiplayer}
Play a game against a friend. Requires a link cable.
{Options}
Same options as season mode. If you don't feel like going to them then here
they are.
