Hello and welcome to our in-depth FAQ for Professor Layton and the Diabolical
Box Weekly Puzzles. This guide is part of the series of Professor Layton FAQs
that myself and Glacoras have produced. This did start off as my own baby, but
as I have shamelessly neglected it in recent times, Glacoras had contributed
more and more. So much so that he's now a co-author! Woo!
Thanks for looking, I hope you find this helpful!

Hello everyone and welcome to my third co-authored Guide. Originally, this
guide was just going to be written by TrulyDexterous only. However, I started
to write for more of the weekly puzzles and TrulyDexterous decided that this
guide should be co-authored between us. I had a co-authored recognisation in
this guide since Version W22, although I did provide some information on
earlier puzzles.
Again, I would recommend writing a guide with another user if you do not think
it will be completed by yourself. I enjoyed it last time and I am enjoying it
this time around as well.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy playing this game and reading this guide as much as I
have enjoyed playing this game and writing this guide.

UK PUZZLE W06: PAPER AND SCISSORS DATE: 30/10/09

HINT : Draw a diagram. Make a circle within the sheet of paper. Make sure
there are four contact points between the edge of the paper and the
circle. After this, draw another square within the circle. This time
though, rotate it so it is a diamond rather than just a square. This
will help you visualise the next step. If you look at the four
triangle shapes between the larger square and the smaller, you will
see that they add up to the same area of as the smaller square. This
should be a big clue.

5s) PUZZLE W19: RUPERT AND BILL DATE: 01/03/10
O----------------------------------------------------------------------------O
UK PUZZLE W19: JOHN AND BILL DATE: 29/01/10
O============================================================================O
HINT: You should start with Bill's age first. Because you know in 3 years
time Bill will be twice John's CURRENT age, you should realise that
all even numbers (0, 2, 4, 6 and 8) will not be Bill's CURRENT age.
Bill's double-up age has to be higher than his CURRENT age +3. This
should help you realise that 1 and 3 can not be the answer for Bill's
CURRENT age. You have now eliminated 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 6 and 8 from the
possible answers for Bill's age.
From the remaining 3 possible answers for Bill's age, write out what
they calculate to when you double them, then divide by 3 to see the
possible answers. Only the correct answer for Bill will provide a
single number answer for Rupert/John's age.
