This is a FAQ for Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia for DS. This will be my first
time writing a real FAQ, so...I might be missing something at some point. >>
I'll be summarizing the story, so there will be spoilers in this FAQ. If you
don't want to be spoiled, don't read ahead of where you are in the game in
this FAQ.
My e-mail is at the top, if you wish to e-mail me, put "Castlevania: Order of
Ecclesia" as the title and I'll try to get back to you as soon as possible.
If you e-mail me without putting that as the title, I'll just discard the e-mail
Also...don't e-mail me anything that's already in the FAQ, I'll ignore it.

==> Gameplay basics and Hints <==
- GLYPH SYSTEM: Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia introduces a new battle system
called the Glyph System. Glyphs are the new 'weapons' of Order of Ecclesia
and you can equip up to three Glyphs on Shanoa. The Main Glyph (X button),
Sub Glyph (Y button) and the Back Glyph (R button). Using Glyphs takes up MP,
you can recover MP by just not attacking or use items, which isn't really
recommended because of how fast you can recover MP. Glyphs can also be found
in stages, dropped by enemies, or absored from enemies. If you find a glyph,
such as a blue or red triangle/square with a picture in the middle, you can
hold up on the d-pad to absorb it, thus giving you a new skill plus 10 hearts
There are also Glyph Unions, where pressing Up + X or Y (or whatever buttons
you set the Maind and Sub Glyphs to) to use a skill that cost Hearts.
Different combinations produce different attacks, to find combinations
look at the Glyph Union section.
- HEARTS: This game goes back to the heart system, where using a Glyph Union
will decrease certain amount of hearts. If you don't have a full amount of
hearts you can break statues, lamps, etc, to obtain more hearts. If you have
access back to the town, don't worry about using up your hearts. You can go to
town and replenish your hearts at the pot, right of the entrace.
- WEAKNESSES: Most enemies will have certain weaknesses that will help you
defeat them easily. If I feel a certain enemy is hard to kill, I'll list the
weaknesses it has so that it'll be easier for you to kill. I will state which
weapon I prefer to use, but it doesn't mean that it's the best method,
especially with the amount of Glyphs present in Castlevania.
- BOSS Medals: If you defeat bosses without taking damage, you'll obtain a medal
after beating the boss. I'll list ways of avoiding boss attacks unless I'm
unable to avoid it...which will be likely for some of the end-game bosses.

Characters ----------------------------------------------------- (Gme02)
==========================-----------------------------------------------=======
*take from ingame and the Japanese website*
-- Shanoa --
Age: 20
Sex: Female
Voice Actress:
Shanoa is one of Ecclesia's female warriors. She joined the clan at a young
age, and was groomed in her training to destroy Count Dracula. An accident
during the Dominus ceremony wiped away her memories and emotions. Shanoa
possesses a unique ability, allowing her to channel power through glyphs
that are marked on her body.
-- Albus --
Age: 24
Sex: Male
Voice Actor:
Albus is Ecclesia's Chief Researcher and, like Shanoa, was trained from a
young age to harness Dominus. Dedicated to research, he became Barlowe's trusted
assistant.Using Agartha, a charmed firearm, Albus is able to channel glyph
energy into bullets, which then become magical projectiles.
-- Barlowe --
Age: 72
Sex: Male
Voice Actor:
Barlowe formed Ecclesia to study glyphs as a way of fighting Dracula. His
research culminated in Dominus, a glyph of Ultimate power. Barlowe prays
that its power is enough to save the world from darkness.
-- Dracula --
Age: Roughly 800
Sex: Male
Voice Actor:
Vlad Tepes Dracula is a powerful vampire, and the Lord of Evil. His dark
magic is embodied in the demon fortress, Castlevania.
Returning to life time and
again since the ancient
middle ages, the evil lord
Dracula has driven people to
terror. Each time Dracula
returned from the dead, the
Belmont clan fought him in
the shadows, wielding
the holy whip.
Through their efforts,
humanity avoided darkness,
securing prosperity.
But, early in the 19th
century, having lost
their ability to resist
the darkness, those in
position of power
at the time began to
search for new ways
to counter Dracula.
Our organization, Ecclesia,
was born then as one of
those countermeasure
Many organizations were
established with the same
goal, and day after day,
they conducted their
studies diligently, but
each was dissolved when
they failed to produce
satisfactory results.
But that was when Barlowe,
the leader of Ecclesia,
finally made a surprising
breakthrough that could
stand up against Dracula.

Items: Record 1, Record 5
Glyphs: Confodere
Enemies: Skeletons
After the prologue ends, we start off with Shanoa entering Ecclesia. Albus
enters shortly afterwards, Shanoa is going to Barlowe to obtain Dominus, yet
Albus was promised Dominus prior to this event. Albus tries to stop Shanoa, but
Shanoa proceeds to Barlowe anyways.
Head on up, towards the top of the floor you'll come across a blue and gold
door. Don't proceed just yet, instead go to the platform across the door and
press down. A treasure chest will appear, press up to get "Record 1"*, proceed
through the blue door now.
As Shanoa enters, the scene pans over to Albus whom is jealous by the fact
that Shanoa will obtain Dominus instead of him. The scene switches to
Barlowe and Shanoa, apparently Shanoa is the only one who can bear Dominus,
yet she will be unable to control its power without the ritual that will be
taking place right now. Dominus is the ultimate weapon designed to kill Dracula.
Shanoa begins the ritual, until Albus enters and interrupts her, making her lose
her memories. Albus and Barlowe get into an arguement, with Albus shooting at
Barlowe soon afterwards. He escapes with the Dominus glyph soon afterwards.
Several weeks pass, with Barlowe having to retrain Shanoa again due to her
memory loss.
What you see infront of Shanoa is a Glyph, absorb it by pressing up on the
d-pad, that glyph is the Rapier Glyph, Confodere. After you obtain the Glyph,
Barlowe tells you to attack him, do so by pressing X and/or Y. Hit Barlowe a
couple of times until he starts to talk, he teaches you how to use Glyph
Unions (Up + X/Y). Attack him with a Glyph Union now. Glyph Unions take up
Hearts (the amount you have is at the top left, right beside the blinking
heart). If your running out of hearts, there's a pot to the left, hold down,
down (on the d-pad) until you replenish your hearts. Proceed to the next room.
Barlowe will summon Skeletons to attack you, kill them any way you see fit,
you shouldn't need help for this. When you're done, proceed through the door.
Barlowe sends Shanoa on a mission to retrieve the Dominus Glyph from Albus.
Shanoa doesn't remember him due to her memory loss. Barlowe wants Shanoa to
bring back Albus alive...if possible.
Head out of the door to the right. You'll be back to the floor where you met
Albus the first time. Go to the door on the right to get to a save point, when
you use a save point, your HP and MP will be restored, even if you don't save,
so make use of it. When you're done, head out of the room and go down, use the
door to the left to exit. If you look at the top screen you'll see a map (if
you don't, press select). The room you're in now is marked yellow, these are
rooms that allow you to exit to the world map, rooms in red are save points,
and there are also rooms in blue which I will get to when we reach one.
There's also a treasure chest in the room where you got your first glyph,
open it to get Record 5, head back down again and exit to the left.
Go to the world map and select Monastery.
*: This song should bring back memories to those who played Castlevania a long
time ago =D (i.e not me >>)

Monastery ------------------------------------------------------ (Wlk02)
==========================-----------------------------------------------=======
Items: Sandals, Cotton Hat, Book of Spirits, Red Drops, Arthro Medal
Glyphs: Magnes, Culter
Enemies: Bat, Zombie, Skeleton, Ghost, Banshee, Bone Scimitar
Extra: Cat, HP Max Up, MP Max Up, HEART Max Up
Head right, there are skeletons inside the building, dispose of them if you
wish, otherwise continue right. You'll reach a vertical room, go through the
door on the righ, deal with the enemies as you see fit, until you reach a Warp
Point. These allow you to Warp to other Warp Points found within the stage,
these are the blue points that were spoken of earlier. Head back to the
vertical room, you'll find a treasure chest there. If it's a wooden chest,
you'll obtain a random common item, if it's green...you'll obtain a random
uncommon item. The chest respawns when you exit the stage.
Head up to the top of the floor, beware of bats, they're not hard to kill
nor do they do much damage, but they're irritating when you're trying to make
a jump. Head to the room on the right when you reach the top, you'll meet a
Banshee, you won't do a lot of damage but they only die in three hits anyways.
Open the red chest, red chests will not respawn when you exit the stage, to
obtain Sandals, equip them in the Equip screen.
Keep on heading left until you reach a red Glyph, absorb it to obtain
Magnes. It'll auto-equip, so you don't need to equip the Glyph. Read to
instructions on how to use Magnes, you'll be using it a lot in the upcoming
stages. After the tutorial is done, go back down and head left to a save
point. Use Magnes to fling yourself to the top of the screen, open the red
chest to obtain Cotton Hat and equip it. Head left, ignore the chest for now
you won't be able to get to it yet. Get to the bottom of the floor, where
you'll see a chest and a cat to the right. Try to position Shanoa right behind
the pillar to the left and slide (down + B), press down to get the cat, slide
again to reach the chest holding a HP Max Up. Exit the room through the left.
You'll find a Bone Scimitar, kill him and you'll find a glyph if you're
lucky. If not, you'll see a glyph appear for a split second, this indicates
that this monster has a glyph you can obtain. Exit the room and come back,
kill it until it drops a glyph and absorb it to obtain Secare, the sword
glyph. Equip it if you want. Remember this place, we'll be coming back here
again. Head back to the room where you obtained Magnes, use the first magnet
you see to fling yourself to the bottom right, you should reach you next room.
Head right, kill the zombies if you want, you'll reach a statue that has a
green-ish aura, destroy it and a glyph will come out. These statues will
always hold a Glyph for you to get, this one in particular holds Culter, the
knife Glyph, equip it if you want. Continue right, when you enter the next
room you'll see a Gold Chest, open it to get Book of Spirits. Head up, grab
the chest to the right if you want, other wise head left and attack the wall,
there's a secret passage there. Head left until you reach a red chest, open
it to get HEART Max Up. Exit to the right and exit right again.
When you reach another vertical room, before you advance, jump up onto the
the first platform. Attack the edge of the platform that is holding up the
treasure chest to obtain the Red Drops.
If my point isn't getting across (which I doubt it is...)
___
|+| <-- treasure chest
------------------
****| <--- attack this to get the Red Drops
------------------
Anyways...continue heading up, getting the tresure chests and
the bag of money along the way. There's a room to the rigt with a random
treasure chest, get it and then head to the left. Be careful, there's a lot
of zombies on this floor. Continue heading left until you reach a save point.
Head back out, use Magnes to fling yourself to the treasure chest, which
holds a MP Max Up. Head to the top and go left, there's a warp point here,
Head out, to the right is a Boss, you can tell with the red jewel in the door.
When you're ready go fight the boss. Remember, if you defeat the boss without
taking damage, you'll obtain a medal.
Roll - He'll start by curling up into a ball, eventually it'll start
rolling back and forth. Avoid by using Magnes on one of the
magnets.
Web - Shoots a web up which arcs down. Avoid by...avoiding it
(i.e. backdash), don't use Magnes though, you can also
destroy it if you want.
Claws - It opens its mouth and brings its claws out to attack infront
of it. Avoid by using Magnes, try to position yourself so
that you're in a corner in case its too close. You can also
avoid it by back dashing as fast as possible
______________________________________________________________________________
Strategy:
Isn't very hard to beat, just keep on attacking it, avoiding him
whenever he does an attack. Remember, if you kill it without taking
damage, you'll obtain a Arthro Medal.
Get the chest if you defeated it without taking damage, the red orb will
increase your HP and MP, recovering it as well. Head to the right, Albus will
be there.
Albus is still bitter as we can see, Shanoa tries to force Albus to go back to
Barlowe, but Albus...teleported away. Albus than states that he'll never go back
and gets angered at the mere mention of Barlowe's name and leaves, after
attempting to shoot Shanoa. He also dropped a map to a village, which Shanoa
picks up.
Exit out of the stage, either by going through the entire thing...or taking
the warp point back to the other warp point we found earlier. When you're
on the World Map, head to Wygol Village.
==========================-----------------------------------------------=======
Wygol Village -------------------------------------------------- (Wlk03)
==========================-----------------------------------------------=======
Items: Sandals, Cotton Hat, Book of Spirits
Glyphs: Torpor
Villager: Nikolai
Shanoa finds a man incased in Ice, with a Glyph creating the ice. Absorb it
to obtain Torpor. You'll find many other villagers trapped in ice throught the
game, save them by absorbing the glyph that makes the ice.
You'll save Nikolai afterwards will ask you to save the other villagers whom
Albus has frozen. He'll also tell you Albus said something about Prison Island.
Looks like that's your next destination...don't go yet though.
To your left, after talking to Nikolai, will be a pot that you found back in
Ecclesia. These pots restore your hearts, so you don't need to worry about
using up your hearts in stages without bosses, or stages with easily
accessible warp points. You'll also find a save point to youre left, and in
the building to the right will be the cat you saved earlier. Save and then
head out to the world map when you're ready, our next destination is
Ruvas Forest.
This stage is pretty straightforward, just keep on heading right until
you get to the end. Watch out for the Nominon though, the red flying thing, if
it gets a hold of you, it'll take awhile before you can escape. Along the way
you'll find another statue with a glyph in it, absorb it to obtain Macir, your
first strike-attribute glyph. Another note, there are two more glyphs that you
can obtain from enemies, the first would be Fidelis Caries, from the
Necromancer. When you see him, don't attack him just yet, instead wait until
you see a glyph above him, absorb it...now you can kill him. There are more
enemies like this, where they'll use a spell and you'll have to absorb the
spells before they are used. The next glyph you can obtain is from the Axe
Knight, for this one you need to kill it to obtain the glyph. When you're done
head out to the world map. Save your game back in town if you want, head to
Kalidus Channel next.
Pretty straightforward again, mostly because you don't have access to the
waters just yet. Again, try to avoid the Nominon or kill them right away, also
watch out for the Merman and Sea Stingers, they just out of the water, be
careful of where you land. Continue right until you reach another villager
encased in ice. Grab the Magical Ticket and absorb the Glyph to save Jacob,
the shopkeeper...you'll be seeing him quite a bit. Continue right, save point
is in the next room. After you exit the room with the two lamps, there's
another breakable point here. Where the ceiling makes a right angle, attack
that point to get the Twinbee item. Keep on heading right until you exit to
the world map. Your next destination is Minera Prison Island, but save at
the town before you head there.
==========================-----------------------------------------------=======
Minera Prison Island ------------------------------------------- (Wlk06)
==========================-----------------------------------------------=======
Items: Skeleton Medal, Cabriolet, Priestess Ring, Anti-Venom, Konami Man,
Glyph Sleeve
Glyphs: Dominus Hatred, Falcis, Vol Fulgur
Enemies: Spear Guard, Axe Knight, Bone Archer, Evil Force, Winged Guard,
Invisible Man, The Creature, Demon, Tin Man
Extra: MP Max Up, HP Max Up, HEART Max Up, Orange Cat
Villager: Abram
Head right, the boss room is just right ahead, SAVE at the village if you
haven't! Also...note the awesome BGM playing when you enter the stage. >
Kick - It'll attempt to kick you, afterwards he'll stay in the kicking
position for a good while, attack him now. Avoid by back
dashing, by using Magnes on one of the magnets, or by crouching
and it'll just barely miss you. Note how it raises its knees
right before it kicks.
Lunge - It'll step forward and lunge out at you. Avoid by back dashing
or by using Magnes. Note how it raises its arms and bring its
right knee back just before it lunges.
Tackle - It starts to crouch down, stay away from him, because he'll
leap forward and do a bellyflop. Avoid by running under him
after he leaps. Attack him while he's on the ground. Note
how when he starts to bend down like he's preparing to jump.
Grab - It starts to crouch down, stay away from him. He'll attempt
to grab you with his arms, so be a good distance away from
him. If he does manage to grab you...I don't think you can
escape, he'll start pounding you with his fist, so avoid
this at all costs.
--Behind Giant Skeleton--
Frenzy - It'll attack in a set order, get back infront of him ASAP.
Use Magnes to fling you back to the left side, his second
attack can still hit you, even if your using Magnes though.
This boss is alot harder than the previous one. Still not very hard
but you'll encounter some difficulties. Note the three magnets, use them.
Also, he's weak to strike weapons, so a Hammer Glyph Union can easily do
up to 80 damage. Avoid his attacks, try to stay on the left side and you
should be fine. There's alot of opportunities to attack him; right after
he kicks you, there's at least 2 or 3 seconds where he just stays there,
so attack him then. At the start of his grab where he crouches down, you
can use a long range glyph or a glyph union to attack him then. And
finally just right after he does his jump, he'll stay there for a good 2
to 3 seconds...though, you should get back infront of him asap.
If you defeated him without taking damage, open the chest for a Skeleton
Medal. Go back to town and save, head back and continue right until you see
circles of light, circling the stage. You don't want to touch those lights
so you have to carefully maneuver around them. Draw out the Spear Guard away
from the lights and kill it, its weakness is Strike attribute glyphs, so
equip the Macir and kill it, should take two to three hits at most. Note,
you can get a Hasta, lance glyph, from the Spear Guards, do so. Now onto
the lights...if you touch the center of the light, you'll bring out Evil
Force, a high level monster that you're not supposed to fight yet. You can
either run away or kill it, its weaknesses are Slash, Flame and Light attacks.
The easiet way of killing it is to use a Sword/Axe Glyph Union three times
to kill it. You also gain a lot of exp for killing it, 113 to be exact.
Onto avoiding the light... Draw out the Spear Guard away from the light
and kill it. Keep on moving until you reach the Axe Guard, kill it while
avoid the light. If a light is at ground level, you can jump over it, if
a light is about halfway from ground level, you can slide underneath it.
You can touch the outer rim of the light without summoning Evil Force,
make use of that fact. Go right into the next room, there's a Spear Guard
right in front of you again, kill him as fast as possible and head right.
Kill the next Spear Guard as fast as you can, if you decided to draw out
the first Spear Guard, you'll realize the 2nd Spear Guard will be partnered
with a Bone Archer, so watch out for that. Keep on heading right until you
exit while avoiding the light. If you feel you can't kill an enemy before the
light centers around you, slide past the enemy and run away.
When your in the next room, there's a save point right of the treasure
chest, use it if your HP is low. Continue down, grab the bag of gold when you
reach the bottom. Continue right, you'll notice there's two floors and many
Spear Guards. Take the upper floor, you need to jump from the ledge where you
entered the room to reach it, and open the red chest for a Cabriolet, equip
it. The Spear Guards below you can and will attack you if you stand directly
above them, slide or back dash away. Keep on heading right until you see the
red chest, open it to get a MP Max Up. Exit to the left, you can't get back
to the upper floor so you have to kill the Spear Guards on ground level if
you want to make it back unscathed.
Start moving up, note the Bone Archer at the top of the floor, it holds a
Arcus, bow glyph. Kill it until it drops the glyph, afterwards head right.
Doesn't matter if you take the upper or lower part of the stage nothing
special is in this room, though a common treasure chest is located on the
upper floor, either way continue right. Head downward, break the wall beside
the red torch and enter. You'll find a Priestess Ring, equip it if you want,
it lowers STR and INT, but raises DEF and MND. Head back out and continue
going down. Grab the treasure chest to the left if you want, head right
afterwards. You'll see an Axe Knight and three platforms, jump up and enter
the room above. Open the red chest to obtain a Anti-Venom. Head back down
there's nothing you can do here, head to the left when you reach the bottom.
Keep on going left, you'll meet an Invisible Man eventually, careful as his
name implies, he's invisible. You can still see his body...sort of, he's weak
against slash attacks so kill him as fast as possible. Open up the red chest
for a HP Max Up, drop down where the floor changes from cement to wood. Head
left to open up a warp point, exit and head right. The gold slates will drop
down when you get close, either wait for them to drop down and go under them
when they're going back up or run and slide underneath them. Head into the
next room, Albus will be there.
You'll find Albus waiting for Shanoa in the next room with a 'reward'. Absorb
the Glyph for Dominus Hatred. Shanoa realizes it isn't a fake and wonders why
Albus would give her a piece of Dominus. Albus tells Shanoa that with the amount
of power it has, it's impossible to conceal its source. Shanoa asks him what
that means, Albus doesn't really answer but he does say something interesting.
He says he has a role to fulfill and that he will fulfill it, he teleports away
yet again.
Head left, you'll see a swinging axe and a iron maiden (Google it up if you
don't know what it is). You want to avoid these two things, so once the axe
swings over the iron maiden, wait until it starts heading back and jump over
the iron maiden. The axe will return, so you'll have to jump over it again,
quickly jump over the second iron maiden while your at it...if you manage to
land in one of the iron maidens...you'll either die or will have very low HP.
Grab the bag of gold and head right, save Abram the villager and head back
out.
Go up to the next level, there's an Invisible Man waiting for you, I suggest
you to kill it. Head left, you'll see The Creature, a frankenstein~esque
monster. It hurts, so watch out; it has a flame thrower, a lightning attack
and a kick that will hurt. This is why I suggested you to kill Invisible Man
first. Use Glyph Unions if you want, you'll recover them soon afterwards.
Head left and up the room, when you reach the top, head right. Kill the Spear
Guard and go up to the room on the right, there's a save point there. Use
Magnes to get to the red chest, open it to get a HEART Max Up. Use Magnes
again on the magnet, move Shanoa to the right and start attacking with any
overhead Glyph (Sword, Hammer, etc). You should break a part of the wall to
obtain Konami Man. Head back up and leave the room through the right.
Wait for a couple of seconds until you see a Demon flying towards you, take
it out with any attacks that have a slash attribute. After killing it, get on
top of the upper floor and proceed right. You'll find an orange cat, pick it
up and continue going right. Head down until you see two entraces you can go
to. First go to the one on the left, there's another warp point there. Exit
out and go down, there's another Glyph statue there with a Falcis, a sickle
glyph, waiting for you. Head left into the next room.
Beware of the electricity running through the wires, jump over the one on
ground level, while watching out for the ones above you. Generally, if you
see two balls of electricity running towards you from the ceiling, let them
pass and the one on the ground will come towards you. Jump over that, rinse
and repeat until you see a glyph at the end of the room. Jump on top of the
platform and absorb the glyph. The electricity will be gone, so you don't
need to worry about getting hurt when you're leaving the room. I suggest you
to use the newly discovered warp point to warp back to the entrance. Go back
to town and save, when you're ready head back to where you warped from.
Exit out of the Warp room and head right, yup its fun with lights again.
Wait a second, two Demons will come at you, kill them without touching the
lights. It's smooth sailing from there, there's no more enemies, but if you
manage to touch the light...prepare to run to the nearest exit. Tin Man will
show up; it's fast, it's dangerous, and it has a machine gun... If you want
to kill it, it's weak to Strike and Lightning attributed attacks, so equip
the Macir and Vol Fulgur and start spamming your Glyph Union. I survived
with 12 HP >>;. If you do kill it, go to the middle of the room, a prize will
await you. Open up the treasure chest for a Strength Ring, equip it if you
want, it raises attack but lowers INT. Exit out to the right and open the
Golden Treasure chest for a Glyph Sleeve Relic. This item is very useful,
it allows you have three sets of Glyphs ready at all times, you can switch
between them by press A + L/R. After you're done head out, go to the village
to save and restore your hearts.
Talk to Abram before you leave, he won't thank you for saving his life
until you give him Sage...er...yeah. So if you have a Sage with you, give it
to him, he'll get the shopkeeper to sell medicine. If you have the items for
Abram to make the antidote, give it to him...I unfortunately don't have the
items yet. Save and go out into the world map, the Lighthouse is your next
destination.
Head right, use Magnes to launch yourself across the set of spikes. Keep
on heading right, a boss will be waiting for you in the next room. Head up
the room until the boss enters.
Pincer Punch - For the first half of the attack, he'll open up his
claw and move it to the middle of the stage. Avoid by
staying on the lower left platform, you can also attack
him while his claws are open.
For the second half of the attack, he'll bring his
claw back towards him and he'll punch the left wall.
Avoid by crouching on the lower left platform, you can
also attack his main body while he's doing this.
Bubbles - After his pincer punch, he'll automatically spray bubbles at
the location you were after the punch was finished. Avoid by
going to the opposite direction to where you were last
(i.e if you were on the lower left, move to the upper right)
or you can break the bubbles by attacking them, either one
is fine, though there might be a stray bubble that may hit
you if you choose to break the bubbles.
Change Form - After you do enough damage, he'll go into the second
part of the first stage. He'll start moving his claws
to the sides of the stage, avoid by staying on either
leftmost or rightmost part of the upper platform. DO
NOT stay in the middle, he can hit you when he brings
his claws back.
Wall Punch - After changing forms, his Pincer Punch is replaced by
this attack. He'll attack the wall three times, the first
two times you can just stay at the lower left platform
without worrying about getting hit. The third time
however, you will get hit if you stay on the lower
platforms. To avoid the third hit, just right after the
second punch, move Shanoa right abit past the middle of
the uppermost platform and then quickly go back to the
left platform, he should retract his arm from the right.
Wall Break - After he punches the wall enough times, the wall breaks.
Quickly head up, avoiding his claw.
--2nd Stage--
Revert Form - He changes back to his green form, if you haven't moved
up yet, you'll get attacked.
Pincer Punch - The same as before
Bubbles - The same as before, except this time you have to use Magnes
to avoid the bubbles.
Change Form - The same, just use the left uppermost platform to avoid
it.
Wall Punch - The same, except there's no need to avoid his third attack
because he doesn't have it anymore. Just crouch on the
lower leftmost platform.
Wall Break - Same as before
--3rd Stage--
Revert Form, Pincer Punch, Bubbles, Change Form - the same as before
Claw Charge - He'll gain a new attack in his green form. He'll hold
his right claw with his left claw, he'll let go and
his right claw will slam into the right wall. Avoid by
staying on the left-uppermost platform. It can still
hurt you if you stay on the lower-left platform.
Wall Punch - Same as before, except you just need to stay on the
uppermost platform this time, seeing as his left
pincer will hit you if you don't.
Wall Break - After his third hit, be sure to stay as close to the
left wall as possible, afterwards continue heading up.
--FINAL Stage--
Bubble Frenzy - He'll only attack with bubbles now, avoid by standing
on the floor where the magnet is.
This boss isn't exactly hard, he is rather tedious though... This will
probably be one of the few times where I will suggest you to use a
specific weapon, use the Macir you got earlier for this fight.
-- 1st Stage --
Keep on moving up the stage until you reach the top, wait at the
uppermost platform until Brachyura catches up to you. Drop down to the
left platform when you see that it's safe. His attack pattern is always
the same, it's basically...Pincer Punch --> Bubbles, repeat x number of
times usually twice, Change Form --> Wall Punch, repeat x number of times
again usually twice, Wall Break --> proceed to 2nd stage. ...Yeah, that's
basically it, rather predictable... Watch out for his Wall Punch though,
on the third hit, if you stay on the lower-left platform as he retracts
he'll hit you, so make sure you move to the right of the upper platform,
just abit past the middle will do, and quickly move back to the lower left
platform.
Head up, he'll change back to his green form.
-- 2nd Stage --
Notice the upper platform has been changed to a Left and Right platform
with a magnet in between. Do the same as before, wait for him to reach you
by staying on the upper-left platform. Same attack pattern as before,
except just use Magnes to avoid the bubbles.
Head up, ignore the Magnes that you used to avoid the bubbles. Keep on
cimbling until you reach another magnet, use it to fling yourself directly
up, keep on doing this until you reach the top. Stay on the upper left as
usual until he comes down, then drop to the lower left.
-- 3rd Stage --
Again, same pattern as before, except this time right after his bubbles
he'll use a new attack, Claw charge...excuse my horrible naming, avoid it
by staying on the upper-left platform. And watch out for his Wall Punch
this time, his left pincer will hit the lower left platform, so stay on
the upper right platform to avoid it.
Head up, use Magnes to launch yourself into the impression in the wall.
-- Big-O FINAL Stage --
This time he'll just use bubble, you probably won't even see him catch
up to you if your fast enough though. After using Magnes to launch Shanoa
into the impression, there's a space above you that you can jump through.
Do so, and press down when your on top of the spiked platform.
Watch the awesome cutscene of the elevator crushing the crab, if it
wasn't for that scene, I would've given up writing this much for this
boss...
If you defeated him without taking damage, open the chest for a Brachyura
Medal. Take the elevator back up, and leave to the left, use Magnes to launch
yourself up, go to the light... Absorb the glyph to obtain Luminatio, your
first light attack. Leave out the right, drop down and go left, either take
the elevator down or drop down. Head right afterwards, drop down and save the
Eugen, the villager. Go left and get the Serpent Scale, exit out to the world
map, your next destination is Kalidus Channel again, save at the village first
though, and if you have 3 Iron ores, give it to Eugen...I unfortunately don't
have enough.
==========================-----------------------------------------------=======
Kalidus Channel, Underwater ------------------------------------ (Wlk08)
==========================-----------------------------------------------=======
Items: Potion, Anti-Venom, Sapphire, Super Potion, Iron Ore, Emerald
Glyphs: Fortis Fio, Scutum,
Enemies: Merman, Needles, Killer Fish, Dark Octopus, Fishhead, Gelso, Forneus,
Skull Spider, Spectar
Extra: HEART Max Up x3, HP Max Up x2, MP Max Up x3
Villager: Monica
As soon as you select Kalidus Channel on the World Map, select the bottom
right yellow square as your entrance point. Head left twice, there's a Red
Treasure chest at the bottom left of the room that holds a Potion, grab it.
Head left until you reach a vertical room, head up and exit out right.
There's another treasure chest right below you, grab it to get a HEART Max Up,
you should have 80 now. Continue heading right, there's another Red chest in
this room, it's on the lower part of the room, grab it to get Anti-Venom.
Leave through the bottom right to open up the warp room, go back out and exit
through the top right. There's a line of Fishheads surrounding a Sapphire,
kill them with a Strike attributed glyph, also watch out for the Gelso, their
easy to kill but they come in numbers. Head up after grabbing the Sapphire,
exit to the left when you see a set of three Fishheads. Keep on heading left,
another line of Fishheads are waiting for you, kill them and proceed. There's
a Sea Demon here, don't kill it just yet, you can steal a Glyph from it,
Grando to be exact, your first Ice glyph. Kill it and get open the chest for
a HP Max Up, head out to the right, go up and go left.
Continue heading left, the path will split, head up and go to your right.
Notice the balloon with what looks like a barrel with a picture of a bomb,
you'll need to move that all the way to the right. To move it, first use
Shanoa to direct it, get Shanoa, DO NOT attack it, to jump and get her body
to push it to the right. You'll encounter an infinite amount of Gelsos,
whatever you do, lead them away from the barrel before you kill them, they
can't destroy it, but you might accidently destroy it. Continue moving the
barrel to the right, when you can't move it any further (when it's right
beside the cracked rocks) attack it with a weapon, don't worry it won't hurt
you. When the rocks are gone, attack the furthest right wall, it's breakable.
You'll find three red chests in the new room, open them up for a MP Max Up,
Super Potion, and another HEART Max Up, go back out and head up.
You'll be back to the surface of Kalidus Channel now, head left until you
reach another red chest for another MP Max Up...they're awfully generous
here >>;. You can head up to the save room to save, since you probably haven't
saved in awhile now. Head back to where you made the explosion, don't go back
down yet, go right for another chest for a HP Max Up. Go back down to where
you exploded the rocks and exit the room through the left. Go down and exit
to the left again, keep on heading left until you reach a save point, save
and head left again. Head left, using the lowest room and attack the Fishheads
and attack the glyph statue to get Fortis Fio, a glyph that raises defence
when activated. Keep on heading left, another bomb barrel puzzle is awaiting
you. Destroy all the Needles first, then do the same as before, the bolders
are located at the top, this is much easier than the previous one. Head up
the new entrance, go left and grab the chest for a Chanomile, keep on heading
left for another HEART Max Up, you should have 100 now. There's a random
treasure chest to the right of where you came from, get it if you want, either
way go back to where the rocks exploded. Go to the room in the left to
activate a warp point, exit to the right three times, back to where the room
right after the save point. Head to the upper left room if you want another
random chest, otherwise head down through the opening at the bottom.
There another Glyph statue at the bottom, break it open for Scutum, a shield
glyph. Continue heading left until you reach you see a red chest, open it to
get a Iron Ore. Head left until you reach an exit, exit and go back to town.
Heal and save, we're going back to Kalidus Channel. When your done, go back to
the newly discovered entrance and head into lower right room. Keep on heading
right until you reach a ship, get on top of it and make your way down. You'll
pick up 2000 gold along the way, there's another treasure chest, open it for
a MP Max Up. Keep on heading down, there's another treasure chest with a
Emerald, watch out for the Skull Spider, they can poison you if you touch
them. They also carry another summon glyph, get it if you want. Head down and
go right to get another villager, Monica. Exit and head left until you see a
Spectar, kill it, it's weak to light skills. When the ground starts to level,
press down for a treasure chest to appear, open it to get a Magician Ring,
equip it if you want. Go back to the world map, go to the town to save and
heal. Do any quests that you can, when your done, head over to Tymeo
Mountains.
==========================-----------------------------------------------=======
Tymeo Mountains ------------------------------------------------ (Wlk09)
==========================-----------------------------------------------=======
Items: Blue Drops, Mushroom, Empress Ring
Glyphs: Fides Fio
Enemies: Winged Guard, Black Crow, Rock Knight, Nightmare, Skull Spider
Extra: MP Max Up
Villager: Laura
Right at the beginning of the stage, go inbetween the lamps and press down
to find a secret chest, open it to get a Blue Drops. Head right and advance
up, ignore the first opening and keep going up until you can exit to the
right, there's a save point there. Go back and head down until you see the
opening to your left, head left. You'll find two Rock Knights, dodge the
rocks they throw and kill them, they're weak to strike and lightning attacks.
Keep on heading left, you'll see a Nightmare, it's weak against Strike, Fire
and Light attacks, kill it if you want. Watch out for the stalagmite at the
top of the room, make sure you're never underneath them. What you have to do
is jump so that your close to them, that way they'll drop, which then makes
a platform for you to advance. If you didn't kill the Nightmare, don't stay
on the first stalagmite for long, as you'll get hit. Continue heading left
using the stalagmite method, head up.
Keep on heading up, watch out for the Skull Spiders, they can poison you
if you let them touch you. Grab the mushroom, don't go up yet, hit the wall
next to the mushroom to enter a hidden room. Open the chest inside to get a
Empress Ring, head back out and head up, exit to the right when you reach
the top of the room. Use Magnes to avoid landing on the spikes, keep on </pre><pre id="faqspan-2">
heading right twice. When you enter a room with Winged Guards again, head
up, when you see a Rock Knight, kill him and go right. You'll find Laura,
the village jewlerer, exit back left and head up after you save her. You'll
find another opening to the left, head in to activate a warp point, head back
out and head up. When you enter the next room, you'll notice you can't go to
the right, which only means you can only head left, do so.
When you enter, you'll notice a cave underneath the surface, head in. Watch
out for the Skull Spiders as usual. Head all the way left until there's an
opening at the top, destroy the Glyph Statue to get a Fides Fio glyph. Head
right and open the Red Chest to obtain a MP Max Up. Get out of the cave and
take the route above it. Watch out for the crows, you might not notice them
until they attack you. Keep on heading left, then exit out to the world map,
we'll be back here later. Go to the town to save and do whatever you need
to do, our next destination is Misty Forest Road.
Head left, watch out for the Grave Digger, his kick has a huge knockback,
knocking you back to the entrance, so watch out for that. Keep on heading left
there's another Grave Digger, so watch out. Head left into the next room,
there's a Black Fomor there, don't kill him until you see him casting a spell,
absorb the glyph to obtain Umbra. Kill him and continue heading left, there's
another Grave Digger, watch out and continue heading left.
You'll find a Glyph Statue here, break it to obtain Vol Macir. Head up and
you'll find a magnet you can use, fling yourself to the right to obtain Sage.
Keep on heading left, you'll find a White Dragon and a Enkidu. The White
Dragon is weak against Strike, Fire and Light skills, Enkidu is weak to Slash.
You might need to use a potion or two to kill them, use unions if you must.
Keep on heading left, at the bottom right of the next room you'll see what
looks to be a green aura coming from the wall, mark it down, we need to come
here later. You'll notice an item above you as you head left, don't worry
about that just yet, we'll get it later. Keep on heading left until you reach
the exit. Go back to town, heal up and do whatever you need, we're not done
with Misty Forest Road yet though...unless of course you were lucky...
If you didn't notice, the Werebat drops a very useful glyph, keep on killing
her to obtain Arma Chiroptera, a transformation skill. If you got it already,
...proceed to Skeleton Cave then.
================================================================================
4. Bosses
================================================================================
I'll be typing out strategies on how to beat bosses, listing out its weaknesses
and what types of attacks it's strong against. I'll list the attacks I've seen
it use and ways of dodging them or negating them. Basically...this section is
just a copy and paste from the main walkthrough, don't expect anything new here.
Roll - He'll start by curling up into a ball, eventually it'll start
rolling back and forth. Avoid by using Magnes on one of the
magnets.
Web - Shoots a web up which arcs down. Avoid by...avoiding it
(i.e. backdash), don't use Magnes though, you can also
destroy it using a Glyph Union (Sword + Sword) if you want.
Claws - It opens its mouth and brings its claws out to attack infront
of it. Avoid by using Magnes, try to position yourself so
that your in a corner in case its too close. You can also
avoid it by back dashing as soon as you see it coming.
______________________________________________________________________________
Strategy:
Isn't very hard to beat, just keep on attacking it, avoiding him
whenever he does an attack. Watch out for the claws though, if your
reaction is too slow, it'll hit you, otherwise his other attacks are
easy to dodge. Remember, if you kill it without taking damage, you'll
obtain a medal.
Watch the awesome cutscene of the elevator crushing the crab, if it
wasn't for that scene, I would've given up writing this much for this
boss...

Glyph Union --------------------------------------------------- (Skl03)
==================-----------------------------------------------=======
Weapon Unions:
-------------
Name: Rapier Union Hearts: 15
Combination: (Any Rapier) + (Any Rapier)
Type: Slash
Description: Shanoa attacks with a red rapier while red shards fly out.
Hits almost everything in front of Shanoa within a straight
line, the distance of the attack is a bit more than half
the screen, the width of the attack is also increased.
Also hits enemies close behind her, and can also hit more
than once (I've seen up to four times).
Name: Sword Union Hearts: 15
Combination: (Any Sword) + (Any Sword)
Type: Slash
Description: Shanoa manifests a gigantic sword, swinging it and hitting
anything infront and above her for massive damage. Range is
about a bit more than half the screen*. Basically the
attack is, facing right, an attack at about 100º to 0º.
Hits only once.
Name: Lance Union Hearts: 15
Combination: (Any Lance) + (Any Lance)
Type: Slash
Description: Shanoa manifests a gigantic spear and thrusts it infront of
her. The distance sucks, about the same length as the spear
the width is increased and it hits more than once
(I've only seen up to two times).
Name: Hammer Union Hearts: 15
Combination: (Any Hammer) + (Any Hammer)
Type: Strike
Description: Shanoa manifests a gigantic hammer, swinging it and hitting
anything infront and above her for massive damage. Range is
about a bit more than half the screen*. Basically the
attack is, facing right, an attack at about 100º to 0º.
Hits only once.
Name: Bow Union Hearts: 30
Combination: (Any Bow) + (Any Bow)
Type: Slash
Description: Shanoa summons a gigantic red bow that shoots upward,
creating numerous amount of arrows that rain upon
the enemy. Range is the entire screen...and probably more,
the arrows DO NOT pierce through enemies, each arrow does
a bit less than regular arrows...but that doesn't seem to
be a problem with the amount of arrows being shot. Won't
have an exact number of hits until later...if it's even
possible to get an exact number...
Name: Axe Union Hearts: 15
Combination: (Any Axe) + (Any Axe)
Type: Slash
