Made by Interceptor Micros in 1983 for the Commodore 64, Token of Ghall is a
short interactive fiction adventure. The aim is to recover an enchanted token
that was hidden by King Ghall many years ago. What could have been a reasonable
game is ruined by an awful parser that requires extremely specific commands in
order to perform actions, and this seriously limits the amount of interactivity
that some of the areas may have had. The graphics for the locations are very
basic, although some attempts at animation have been made in places. There are
some decent puzzles, but unfortunately the adventure is over very quickly.
The game starts in the clearing. USE DAGGER to open the coffin. DROP DAGGER.
TAKE RING. TAKE TALISMAN. WEAR RING. GO NORTH to the moat. SAY GHUNNLI to kill
the demon. DROP TALISMAN. CROSS MOAT. CLIMB up the rope to the window sill. GO
EAST to enter the castle. DROP RING. TAKE SKULL. TAKE RING. TAKE SHIELD to see
a hook on the wall. TURN HOOK to open a secret passage. EXAMINE PASSAGE to see
a trip wire. ENTER PASSAGE. GO DOWN to defeat the guardian. GO DOWN to the
bottom of the stairs. EXAMINE the room and the dungeon sprite will appear. GIVE
SHIELD to the sprite to get the flute. GO UP twice and GO WEST to exit the
passage. CROSS ROOM. GO DOWN. WEAR RING. CROSS MOAT. GO SOUTH to the clearing.
DROP SKULL. TAKE DAGGER. GO WEST and GO NORTH into the barn. KILL DRAGON with
the dagger to get the enchanted sword. DROP DAGGER. GO NORTH into the cave.
KILL SPIDERS with the enchanted sword. DROP SWORD. GO NORTH to the dark room.
EXAMINE to see the pit of spikes. GO NORTH. PLAY FLUTE to make the python
sleep. DROP FLUTE. TAKE CROWN. GO SOUTH four times and GO WEST. MOVE CHEST.
EXAMINE SURPLICE to see the spider. TAKE SURPLICE from the cavity. GO EAST
twice to the clearing. TAKE SKULL. GO EAST to the quicksand. WEAR SURPLICE. GO
NORTH twice to enter the tomb of Ghunnli. EXAMINE TOMB to complete the game.

to cross over the moat. It must be dropped before the skull in the castle can

The crown and the skull are two of the items that must be in the inventory

in the passage. It is played to make the python sleep.
SHIELD
Found in the castle. It is given to the dungeon sprite at the bottom of the
stairs in the passage to get the flute.
SKULL

skull and the crown are two of the items that must be in the inventory when
the tomb is examined at the end of the game.
