I was born premature, diagnosed with cerebral palsy, yet
physical therapy from 2-4 made symptoms more or less invisible
(I was able to attend school - they just called me weird, so
that was fine by me). One ear has no useful hearing (has to be
jet engine loud and even then makes no sense) and the other only
goes up to 5000 hz. I'm going on 44. Hearing never got worse but
of course never got better. Yet, I have perfect pitch and can
hear notes in my mind that my ears have never heard. So, I can't
do the binaural beats. I could get some of it, but I've had to
work with limited input mechanisms and reconstruct the world
around me in my brain very consciously. Blind in right eye, deaf
in left ear - it might explain why some people say I have
synesthesia. Different brain halves activating diagonally or
whatever to each other. I think everybody has synesthesia - I
can hear it in how they talk, in the language they use but maybe
they're not aware of the connections they're saying.
