Infinite possibilities looks a lot like nothingness when you try
to take it all in at once. In a sense, infinite = 0. It might as
well be.
Consider static. Random patterns of snow on a screen. There's no
patterns in there. It looks like a bunch of nothing. It doesn't
make any sense. The brain gives up trying.
But! It's something. There's dots there to connect. Lines to
draw. Material to work with.
Look at your hands. Two tools to work with. They grab things.
They type. Look at your feet - they pick your whole body up and
take you places.
With hands and arms, legs, feet, eyes that see, ears that hear,
a brain that things and feels... well, you have ALL THE TOOLS
YOU NEED to accomplish anything anybody has ever done anywhere
in the history of humanity.
And... that's a little scary.
Being afraid of the nothingness? The nothingness should be
afraid of your power to change it.
