MacTools Pro, or MacTools 4.0, is disk repair software for early Macs.

Unlike earlier versions of MacTools, most of the actual tools (such as
DiskFix and Optimizer) have been consolidated within a single
application called MacTools Clinic.

A new enhancement added with version 4.0 is the ability to start from
a RAM Disk for easier disk repair. By clicking "RAMboot" from within
Clinic and clicking OK, MacTools will automatically prepare and
restart your Mac as necessary in order to boot from a RAM Disk,
without the need to set it up yourself or deal with physical floppies.

This download contains six installation disks, plus the Optimizer
disk, for seven disks in total. They were imaged from original media
as DiskCopy 4.2 disk images and compressed using DropStuff 5.5.

Although this revision of MacTools Pro was released in 1996 (the date
for which is found within the Read Me), Central Point Software had
been acquired by Symantec Corporation two years prior in 1994.
Symantec's ownership of Central Point is difficult to spot, even in
the manual, but can be found within the About dialogue for MacTools
Clinic.
