Doesn’t matter whether you’re white, brown, black, red or any other color or ethnicity you can think of…
Bottom line: If you are one of 79 million Medicare recipients, nationwide, ICE will likely have access to your address and other sensitive data in the very near future, according to this story at APNews.
The story also mentions the data-sharing agreement, between ICE and Medicaid, has not been publicly announced (gee, I wonder why?) :-P
Knowing what I do of database technology, it’s not hard at all for me to imagine someone in the current administration specifying a filter in a search to display anyone who’s ethnicity is not given as ‘white/caucasian.’ Here’s a relevant (and chilling) quote from the story itself:
“The database will reveal to ICE officials the names, addresses, birth dates, ethnic and racial information, as well as Social Security numbers for all people enrolled in Medicaid...”
There is, to be fair, some attempt at making this data transfer seem legitimate. As noted in the article:
“The agreement does not allow ICE officials to download the data. Instead, they will be allowed to access it for a limited period from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, until Sept. 9...”
And how hard is it, pray tell, to capture screen contents in any number of ways on today’s computers? Anyone who thinks ICE is simply going to do a ‘look-copy-use-destroy’ thing is deluding themselves.
Yet another lawless act by an equally lawless president and their laughable ‘administration...’
