I got a special Open Enrollment to get insurance through the state. It ends at the of this month and I spent about three and a half hours on hold, which is surprisingly less fun that it sounds. I still have to figure out exactly what plan I’m going for and I’d like to get it done today. It’s part of what kept me awake the last two nights.
So this has very good potential to be a poor Shade. I’ll apologize in advance.

MN-06’s state senate election is tomorrow. It could be a pleasant surprise, but I need to curb my enthusiasm. It’s a very red part of the State. Via Minnesota Public Radio
Minnesota Senate District 6 special election April 29
A special election is being held Tuesday, April 29, to fill a vacancy in Senate District 6. The candidates running are Republican Keri Heintzeman and DFLer Denise Slipy. The special election comes after Justin Eichorn resigned from his Minnesota Senate seat after his arrest and a federal charge over attempted solicitation of a minor. ✂️

How Reproductive Freedom Advocates Outsmarted the Anti-Abortion Movement

Spurred by restrictions, abortion rights advocates have pioneered new abortion pill delivery routes both inside and outside of the medical system that have revolutionized abortion access in the U.S. in ways anti-abortion policy makers will likely not be able to stop. ✂️

x Here's my very long piece on Hannah Dugan arrest, fr weekend. One subtext: It will likely be VERY easy for her to show 1) DOJ politicized this, possibly enough it cannot proceed 2) they didn't bother to investigate what her intent was, key to both charges. www.emptywheel.net/2025/04/27/s...
