“Only the Best” (No Worst)-- Demagogue/Dictator Wannabe Donald Appoints Alina Habba to U.S. Attorney Post– March 26, 2025

Remember one of the chief slogans Demagogue/Dictator wannabe Donald kept repeating throughout his campaigns for the White House? Of course, you do. Trump keeps repeating that when he sits in the White House, he will only “hire the best.” That statement goes up there as one of his “ginormous” lies. Look at two of the “best” (LOL, no COL, “Cry on Line”) whom Donald has hired in his second term to handle two key Cabinet posts– anti-vaccination advocate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. for the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and heavy drinker, alleged sexual abuser, alleged wife abuser for the Department of Defense, and now national security leaker Pete Hegseth. Trump first nominated FL GOP Rep. Matt Gaetz to head the Department of Justice. Gaetz had previously been investigated for a potential criminal violation of federal sex trafficking with a 17-year old female. According to the Cohen & Cook 2024 Political Almanac, there were reports that Gaetz had unsuccessfully urged Trump to grant him a pardon. Gaetz, after much public outcry, withdrew his nomination. Well, now, let’s add to this list of only the “best people” Trump hires, Alina Habba. Alina Habba (41) was named by Donald to be the next interim United States Attorney for the District of New Jersey. Habba, formerly appointed by Donald to be his personal attorney-turned White House Counselor, once told a podcast that she would rather be “pretty” than “smart” because “I can fake being smart.” What an attitude!

After her appointment to this major job where she will be in charge of directing prosecutions of federal criminal charges, including charges involving politicians as well as white-collar crimes, Habba had these further “choice” words to say. “As you know, I’ve stood by President Trump, his family, the Trump organization, and many other clients in that state (NJ) where I was born and raised… but there is corruption, there is injustice, and there is a heavy amount of crime in Sen. Cory Booker’s backyard and right under Governor Phil Murphy, and that will stop.” Habba made no specific allegations of corruption against these prominent Democratic politicians. According to a report by Fritz Farrow on ABC News, she was asked whom she would go after. She replied, “We’ll see when I get there.” When asked if she would go after politicians in this office, she answered back that she didn’t say that she was going after politicians. When reporters told Habba that she had mentioned politicians Booker & Murphy, she then admitted that she had. She went on by arguing that Gov. Murphy and Sen. Booker had “failed the state of New Jersey and that crime was going on in that state’s cities of Newark and Camden, in this ‘neglected most populated states for its size.’” She next stated, “We’re going to do a bang up job. I cannot wait.” Translation : Smear with no charges two well-known Democrats and indicate that you are interested in playing politics to help Donald go after them, not the way prosecutorial offices should be run in our country. Meet Alina Habba.

Summit, New Jersey, native Alina Habba is the daughter of two Chaldean Catholics who immigrated from Iraq to the U.S. in the early 1980’s to escape persecution. Her father is a gastroenterologist. Alina Habba received a 2005 Bachelor’s Degree from Lehigh University in political science. Between 2005-2007, she worked in the fashion industry with executives at Marc Jacobs in the fields of accessories production and marketing. Although she liked the fashion industry, Habba decided, according to Bloomberg News, to attend law school for financial reasons. She received a law degree in 2010 from the Widener University Commonwealth Law School. After law school, Habba clerked from 2010-2011 for a Superior Court judge in Essex County, NJ. Habba then went into private practice for several law firms, including one formed by her first husband. In March, 2020, Habba started her own firm, which had offices in Bedminster, NJ and in Manhattan. She held the position of general counsel for her second husband’s parking garage company. She served as lead counsel for three cases and sued nursing homes.

In 2021, Habba joined the Trump National Golf Club Bedminster, in New Jersey, an eight-minute drive from her law firm. Her big break in getting connected to Donald came when in September, 2021, Trump hired her as part of his legal team after several prominent and experienced lawyers who had previously worked for him left. Habba quickly filed a $100 million lawsuit on Donald’s behalf against “The New York Times,” three of its reporters, and Trump’s niece, Mary L.Trump. According to Liam Stack, in a NY Times report, her lawsuit was dismissed by a judge for “failing as a matter of constitutional law.” In September, 2022, Habba filed a lawsuit against prominent Democratic public officials including Hillary Clinton, John Podesta, and Debbie Wasserman Schultz. Another federal district judge dismissed the suit as “inadequate in all respects and accused Trump of “using the courts to seek revenge on political adversaries.” In that case, Trump was, according to ABC News, fined nearly $1million. Habba also served as the lead attorney for the “E. Jean Carroll v. Donald J. Trump” defamation trial in 2024 which involved claims that Trump sexually abused Carroll. Over the course of three days, a third presiding federal judge repeatedly reprimanded Habba for her cross-examination of Carroll and for the way she introduced evidence. A jury awarded Carroll $83.3 million in damages, on January 26, 2024, according to CNN.

Despite these “y uu ge” losses, Trump has paid Habba’s law firm $3.6 million, according to ABC News. Habba has served as Donald’s legal spokesperson and appeared by his side every day he attended his civil fraud trial in NY. She has defended not only his conduct, but also his character. When she appeared on Fox News after Trump was indicted for the unlawful retention of classified documents in Florida, Habba called Trump, “The most ethical American I know.” In what universe does Habba live? Habba ridiculously stated that Trump “reads a lot” and had the nerve to compare his legal problems to those of South African freedom fighter Nelson Mandela! Habba spoke on the final night of the 2024 Republican National Convention leading up to the introduction of Donald Trump. In August, 2024, Habba slammed former GOP Illinois Rep. Adam Kinzinger for speaking out against Trump during the 2024 Democratic National Convention, and as “The Hill” stated, told him to “sit the hell down.” Kinzinger, along with former Republican Wyoming Cong. Liz Cheney, unlike most GOP lawmakers, became known for their strong opposition to Donald’s claims of voter fraud and attempts to overturn the 2020 presidential election. Along with Cheney, Kinzinger served on the January 6th committee that investigated the 2021 Trump-incited riot on that date. No reasonable person can have any problem understanding where Habba’s views on Trump lie.

Yes, Trump boot-licker Alina Habba will continue these actions to defend her boss in every legal matter that she handles for him. And based on her past record, she will prosecute NJ politicians who have the “D” (Democratic) label after their names to weaken them and take revenge on his political opponents. Trump is, by allowing Habba to use these tactics, making our nation a “banana republic” and the laughing stock of the free world. In the 2026 midterms, and in 2028, Democrats must come out in droves to defeat the Trumpist GOP cult everywhere on the ballot.
