Trump Gaza: A Grotesque AI-Generated Video [1]

In the beginning of February, Trump shockingly declared that the United States should take control of Gaza, permanently displace the entire Palestinian population, and transform the war-ravaged territory into prime real estate—“the Riviera of the Middle East.”

Today, he posted a disgusting video on social media that you have to see to believe. Or, rather, even when you see it, you can hardly believe it.

The AI-generated video shows children running through rubble-strewn streets that gradually morph into a glitzy landscape of palm trees and luxury beachfront high-rises. A rapid succession of images flash by, hazy like a dream sequence, depicting a decadent, materialist paradise of wealth and indulgence—and cult-like worship of Trump.

Bikini-clad figures dance on the beach. A young boy grips a gold balloon depicting Trump’s face. Netanyahu and Trump lounge side by side on beach chairs, sipping cocktails. Trump sidles up to a sensual belly dancer in a club. Dollar bills rain down on an Elon Musk look-alike. Partygoers enter a luxury resort emblazoned with the words “TRUMP GAZA.” Row after row of golden statuettes of Trump fill a display case. An enormous gold statue of Trump towers over a busy street scene.

The whole thing is unspeakably brazen, inflammatory, insulting, and deranged—a giant “F- you” to Palestinians. But it's hard to say what is more disturbing—the sheer offensiveness of the video or the grotesque cult of personality it depicts.

As the video cycles through images of Trump depicted as a golden idol, upbeat music plays in the background. These are the lyrics:

Donald’s coming to set you free Bringing the light for all to see No more tunnels, no more fear Trump Gaza is finally here Trump Gaza shining bright A golden future, a brand new light…

It’s reminiscent of the fanatical propaganda of totalitarian regimes, the inflated rhetoric used by dictators from Mao Zedong to Hitler—the “glorious leader” depicted as a heroic savior figure.

Notoriously, dictators love to erect larger-than-life statues of themselves in public squares. When their regimes fall, those giant statues, of course, are the first to be toppled. So far, Trump’s giant golden statue is just AI-generated. Let’s make sure we topple this wannabe dictator before he starts building the real thing.
