Actually, it’s Weaponize the Federal Administration
We are witnessing a coup at the federal level. The smash and grab tactics of Musk‘s DOGE are obviously intended to consolidate power in the Trump administration. With complete control of the US Politburo, Trump and Musk are able to do their work unhindered. The threat of an arrest and lawsuits against their opponents might serve their needs for a while, but at some point, they will need a stronger deterrent to opposition. A threat to livelihood, reputation, or freedom will eventually become insufficient. When will we see the first fall from a high window of a prominent opponent to the Trump regime. There are a great many such windows in New York City, and it’s certain that Eric Adams is very aware of this. The threat of premature death is the most effective deterrent of all. Hopefully, this coup will be rejected, but the opposing force effective enough stop this is nowhere to be seen at this time. If the next 20 months are filled with chaos, demonstrations, violence, runaway inflation, deep recession, etc., this could allow Trump to declare a state of emergency and cancel the midterms. This would be the final death blow to American democracy. Who, among the folks on the left, is willing to risk their life to oppose this tyranny? Tyrants around the globe have been toppled by massive uprisings. This may be the force necessary to end the descent into fascism in this country. Do Americans have the will and passion to do the same? Before long, we may find out.
