BREAKING: FL GOP chair accused of sexual assault; co-founder of M4L in 3-way relationship [1]

The Sarasota Herald-Tribune (as shared by Yahoo News so we can read it) is reporting this afternoon that Christian Ziegler, the GOP Chair of Florida and former member of the Sarasota County Commission, has been accused of rape based on an incident on October 2. Sarasota County police are investigating:
Citing anonymous sources close to the investigation, the government watchdog group says police seized Ziegler's cell phone and "investigators continue to conduct a forensic examination of the electronic device."
Christian Ziegler is just as bad as you can imagine. I had the displeasure of attending a county commission meeting when he was pushing to make Sarasota a “Second Amendment Sanctuary.” As a member of Moms Demand Action, I attended, and fortunately, enough other people attended that the conservative commission rejected his efforts. (This was in 2018. Wouldn’t happen today. Sarasota has become much more conservative.)
Christian Ziegler was also present at the January 6th insurrection but states he never went into the Capitol building. Right.
But the other part of this story is that the accusor alleges to have been involved in a polyamorous relationship with Christian Ziegler and his wife, Bridget. Bridget Ziegler is the head of the Sarasota County School Board and has been a vicious proponent of anti-gay policies. She was also the co-founder of Moms for Liberty nationally.
Sources told the Florida Center for Government Accountability that the woman accusing Christian Ziegler of sexual battery "alleged that she and both Zieglers had been involved in a longstanding consensual three-way sexual relationship prior to the incident."
Look, obviously, I don’t care if someone is in a consensual polyamorous relationship. But the level of hypocrisy is only matched by the level of hate that Bridget Ziegler has championed nationally. She’s pushed anti-LGBTQ actions and rhetoric, championed Hillsdale College curriculum for our public schools (thankfully, that didn’t pass), and was also active in pushing for the takeover by DeSantis stooges of New College, our formally progressive liberal arts college located on Sarasota Bay.
Ziegler and the two other Republicans who won a school board election last year have pushed out the existing Sarasota County School Superintendent (a Republican) because he advocated for masks. She has been part of the 4-1 majority who have screamed about parental rights while harassing the lone Democrat on the board — Tom Edwards — because he is gay.
I wish I could say that I hope the allegations will lead to Christian Ziegler’s arrest and Bridget Ziegler’s resignation, but this is the state of Donald Trump, so…I don’t have a lot of hope.
Updated: The woman alleging sexual assault has also indicated that Christian Ziegler videotaped their sexual encounters. flcga.org/…
