Time marches on relentlessly

Each day the damage mounts.

I hate reading the news before strong coffee

Has been consumed in copious amounts.

Today I learned that the weinermobile

Has been renamed by Oscar Meyer.

May I be perfectly frank(mobile) with you?

In so doing they have raised my ire.

But wait, you say, that as a vegan

Why would my approval of this change be required?

And while it’s true, I confess, that I no longer dine on flesh

My fondness for the whimsically absurd has never expired.

What other sausage on wheels

Distributes little hot dogs that whistle and toot?

Or inspires more excitement wherever it may go

Than a Sports Illustrated swimsuit edition photo shoot?

Cows emit greenhouse gasses from both ends

And internal combustion engines now make me frown

Yet at night I still dream, in rose-tinted hues that gleam,

Of Oscar Meyer weinermobiles, all the way down.
