Trump Republicans for Dummies [1]

Psychology/Clinical Psychology and Sociology are two related but distinct fields of study that deal with human behavior and mental well-being. Psychology focuses on the individual, while sociology focuses on the social group. Mass Communications was my major in college, and it involved learning about both disciplines and how they applied to media and communication.

I grew up with over 12 Concentration Camp survivors — two of them weren’t even Jewish, they were Romanies — thus one of the topics that fascinated me was how political propaganda and manipulation worked, especially in relation to fascism and authoritarianism. I learned from my instructors, who were both Jewish, about the history and tactics of Hitler, Goebbels and his propaganda playbook, their followers, and how they used mass media to spread their ideology and influence people.

I see many parallels between them and the current Republican/Re-Thug-Li-KKKant Party in the U.S., who have embraced an unabashed philanderer, serial conman, and grifter as their leader who lies, incites violence through Stochastic Terrorism, and promotes racism, bigotry, xenophobia, and hatred — incorporating/mirroring the same mannerisms, cadence, bluster, and tactics of Germany’s 1938 Nazi Party. Many people dismiss my concerns as alarmist or exaggerated, but I believe that they are being purposefully ignorant by ignoring the signs that history has taught us.

If it looks like a duck, walks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, it’s a duck. And if it looks like fascism, acts like fascism, and sounds like fascism, it’s fascism.
