Remember what I said about leaving Bakhmut? Never mind.

Oh my gosh! What a surprise! Nobody could possibly have seen this coming!

x Russian mercenary group chief Yevgeniy Prigozhin said Russian officials have assured him his Wagner forces would receive the adequate ammunition and weapon supplies needed to continue their offensive on the eastern city of Bakhmut.

This thread offers an explanation of what is going on in Bakhmut. It is difficult to fathom, however, why Ukraine would be short on ammunition there. Keeping Ukraine supplied with ammunition has certainly been a challenge for the West but Bakhmut should be a priority.

x 2/ Wagner convicts have limited value and only make advances when heavy artillery fire is present. If the artillery is suppressed or runs out of ammunition, they don't make progress. This has been my contention for a while — the counteroffensive should come at Bakhmut to destroy what is left of Wagner, surge into Russia’s supply lines and encircle Donetsk. This would be more than a blow to Russian morale. It would set off panic.

Of course, Prilepin might have gotten himself blown up because he pissed off the wrong elites. He was supposedly planning to run for president of Russia.

The Russians have blamed it on a Ukrainian they arrested, but this smells like an FSB operation.
