John is my friend in Ghana who helps others who are in extreme need in Buduburam Refugee Camp and in the area of Accra. Though extremely poor himself he tries to help anyone who comes to his door in an emergency.

John has been having some problems of his own and has relocated to Accra. He was homeless and sleeping in the forest for a time but now has his own place to stay. He has no furniture but he does have a roof over his head and enough money for food, at least for now. So that is good.

Over the winter Haddi and his wife Zenabu came to John in desperate need. Zenabu was pregnant and in great pain. We managed to get her into the hospital several times so that she could be cared for by the doctors. One night she almost died. It was a very hard time for all of us.

But on January 31 John sent me a message in great excitement and joy that Zenabu had given birth to a little girl. Some months later in her naming ceremony they named her Vicky.

Over the past few months Zenabu, Haddi, and little Vicky have gone through some hard times. They are extremely poor and John was having his own personal problems so he was unable to help them much. And there is very little money and so many in need…. Many times they went hungry, to my great shame and humiliation.

Also baby Vicky has a health problem. I am not sure of the details, but apparently her navel from birth has not healed well and is sore. The doctors said it would take about 75 dollars to treat. So that has been very concerning.

Yesterday I was finally able to send money to John to pass on to Haddi and Zenabu. This morning he went to see them and to give them the money. I believe they have taken the baby in to the hospital to be treated. I am still waiting for all of the details on that.

At any rate John took some pictures and I thought I would share them. The picture above is of Vicky, Haddi, and Zenabu. Baby Vicky is really growing. She looks just like her daddy!

Some other photos below of Zenabu, Vicky and John.

Blessings on their little family. May be prosper and do well.
