I have a need for a small fundraiser... [1]

This is me in my Bounder in 2001, in happier times.

After reading about the needs of some of the people of this commiunity, my need is small by comparision. I feel rather ashamed to even ask for help. But here goes: I have an old powerchair that I use when there's something wrong with my newer one. The old one is 23 years old, and still runs good. I have to pay for the upkeep for the old one, now, for medicare and medicaid will only fix the current wheelchair or get me a new one. I am noticing I am getting less and less range from the batteries I now have in the old chair. I need new ones in order to get around to the stores I frequent and doctors I go to, and these batteries just don’t cut it.

I've never asked for suppport before, because I never had a need come up before. I need two Group 27 batteries, 12 v. which are for my powerchair. The batteries are larger and more expensive than the average car battery. They are deep cycle marine trolling batteries which are used for powering electric trolling motors on bass boats, and some are even used as power collectors for solar panels and wind turbines as well as universal and emergency power supplies for computer systems. The Batteries are heavy duty and extremely powerful.

I am hoping to raise $1.400 for batteries. a new, more powerful charger than the one I am currently using, a Roho High profile cushion, and some long-standing bills I would like to get rid of. You have my gratitude for any help you can give. As I said above I feel my need is small by comparision to others. However, because I need my powerchair to serve as my legs, I think my need for batteries and a new charger is valid.
