If the Republicans who actively participated in #SeditiousConspiracy are arrested & convicted & Democrats gained the seats, the majority numbers change.
Now:
Senate: R - 49, D - 48
House: R - 222, D - 213
Post-conviction & replacement:
Senate: R - 45, D - 52
House: R - 206, D - 229
That's unlikely, but there are opportunities. Many states w/Representative vacancies [PDF] use Special Elections; Senate vacancies are often filled [PDF] by interim appointment by state Governors.
Demand State-level follow-thru for all involved in Trump's #coup & #SeditiousConspiracy.
If Democrats — hell, if *anyone* — is serious about wresting control of Congress away from the #Seditious & #Fascist Republicans, then every potential opening should be under intense scrutiny in order to determine potential candidates & strategies for either special election or state appointments (particularly in any state with Democratic governors).
I haven’t seen or heard of any such efforts yet, but my attentions are divided at this time. Such efforts had better be underway.
I certainly hope Daily Kos is doing some analysis behind the scenes, and will start presenting some options & strategies which the community can provide feedback on and bring to the attention of Democrats nationally.
