If you read Part I of this tutorial, you are ready for the “Nuts and Bolts” of scheduling your diary.
Step 1 = Check your personal draft (your profile page) to see if you have a similar listing to mine.
This is where we want to be with your diary.
Step 2 = Check the Group page queue. I find the fast way to check on a group queue is from the front page of Daily Kos. I click on my avatar in the top right corner of the page.
Your results will vary (based on your choice of image)
This is the image that appears after I click my avatar.
Scroll down to “ My Groups “ and click to open. You should see your groups listed.
Click the Backyard Science section for the next screen. Scroll down the page until you see the image on the left side of the page.
Hover over the “ Manage Queue “ area and click to open it. You should see a similar screen to this.
NOTE: No time or date is set for the diary.
Step 3 =Check the Schedule column to find and open day to slot your diary. Those date/times will be orange in color.
Step 4 = Click on the “ Schedule Later “ of your entry and the following screen will appear (as it does when posting a personal/community diary.
Pick a date from the calendar and it will fill the Date slot. Daily Buckets are usually set for morning hours, but not a solid rule.
Step 5 = Once you find an open date, click on the orange “ Schedule “ button to slot your diary. Here is the example of the queue with this tutorial entered.
As time passes, each Editor and Administrator will check the queue to post their own diaries. There will be “bumps in the road” as we go and that is expected. Consider the ride to have a surprise or two to make it thrilling. Thanks for your time and patience and I hope this helps ease any concerns in filling the Daily Bucket with new material.
Sincerely, Captain BLI
NOTE: A copy of this tutorial will remain in the Backyard Science queue for reference.
