Heya venthooligans, how was your weekend?

In between rivers of rain around here there were a couple of breaks that allowed for excursioning outside the house. Adventures included a champagne-fueled visit in the new year's wee hours to check out the return of Golden Gate Park's marshmallow tree forest, now set in its very own pop-up lake. We enjoyed the light show very much.

Today I met up with a friend who lives in Santa Cruz, to visit the elephant seals at Ano Nuevo SP. We finished up with olallaberry pie at Duartes. It only rained on us a little out at the beach, but the sky opened up again driving home over the mountain.

I made it back safe to the city, and snoozed a while in front of the space heater with Bella in my lap. Home sweet home! I have one more day of vacation left. I hope the sun comes out tomorrow. Another rain river is forecast for Wednesday.
