* 1) Introduction: *
********************

This is a FAQ for Twisted Metal: Black.  It gives information and such
for said game.  I figured this guide could use a good introduction, so
I thought I'd come back and write one.  But instead I decided to write
this introduction.  Twisted Metal: Black is the fifth game in the
Twisted Metal series, although the third and forth ones were made by a
different company (989 studios) so some may argue that this is
technically only the third Twisted Metal game, since the games made by
989 are largely considered sub-par.  I consider this game the best game
of the series, and if you've played it you probably know why.  If you
haven't played it, you should.

Now I thought I'd add a quick overview of the game for people who are
new to the game, since I forgot about that in the early versions.
Basically, in Twisted Metal: Black you drive around in a vehicle and
try to kill other vehicles using various weapons that you can collect
through-out the level.  There are several modes of gameplay including a
one-player story mode where you can unlock new character movies (unless
you have the PAL version) and multi-player modes where you can go
through the story mode with another person or just do a deathmatch type
thing.  oK, I'm obviously bad at overviews, so I'll just end this now.

***********************************************************************
* 2) Controls: *
****************

The default controls in Twisted Metal: Black are similar to the default
controls in Twisted Metal 2, but now triangle activates the rear-view
mirror and pressing gas twice activates turbo.  I never liked that
system for turbo (it was used in Twisted Metal 4) because it's harder
to activate when you want it, but it's easy to activate it
accidentally.  If you don't like it, you can use the dualshock to drive
and R3 for turbo, but then the energy attacks are harder to use...
Here're the control schemes:

* 3) Characters and Vehicles: *
*******************************

This section describes all of the playable characters in the game,
including their information about their vehicles and their stories.  It
has spoilers about their stories and such, so you may not want to read
this section if you don't want to know said information.

Unfortunately, the story FMVs have been removed from the PAL version of
the game.  I don't know why they took them out, but if you don't live
in America (or maybe Japan), you probably won't find any story videos
in the game.

** NOTE - There are storyline SPOILERS in this section **

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
- 3a) Junkyard Dog: -
---------------------

Vehicle: Tow Truck

Driver: Billy Ray Stillwell

Story: Billy Ray was a farmer.  One day as he was walking through his
corn crop a pilot flew over, dropping some chemical on Billy Ray and
his crop.  The chemicals made him pass out, and when he woke up, his
face was deformed and his hair had turned black (and his corn was
destroyed).  He gets up and goes to talk to his wife, Annie, to ask her
what to do, but instead sees her kissing the pilot and talking about
collecting the life insurance.  Enraged, he grabs the closest object (a
hoe) and starts hitting her with the hoe, and continues for over an
hour.  He entered the contest to get revenge on the pilot who had
ruined his life.  When he wins, Calypso takes him back to his farm
where he has the pilot chained to the ground (standing up), and the
pilot's plane is a few yards away.  Billy Ray gets in the plane and
drives it into the pilot, allowing the propeller to chop him to bits.
Then he decides he enjoys killing, and moves to the city where he
thinks he could get into some trouble...

Stats:
------
Control: 5
Speed: 4
Armor: 9
Special: 6

Special Weapon Description: Junkyard Dog's special launches an
explosive spiked ball from the towline.  It works just like a gas can,
but it is faster and stronger.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
- 3b) Brimstone: -
------------------

Vehicle: El Camino

Driver: Preacher

Story: Preacher believes he was possessed by a demon while attempting
to perform an exorcism on a baby.  With the demon in control of him, he
proceeded to kill everyone in the church.  When the police arrived,
Preacher regained control of himself and was arrested and put in the
asylum.  When he wins, he finds out that he is crazy and was never
possessed.  He was performing a baptism, not an exorcism, and he killed
everyone in the church on his own.  Preacher tries several times to get
the Lord to make him normal again by doing things such as nailing
himself to the wall with a cross drawn on it in blood, but nothing
works.  Finally he decides to kill himself by falling off of a tall
building, and right at the end of the movie you hear a splat and cars
honking...

Stats:
------
Control: 8
Speed: 8
Armor: 5
Special: 6

Special Weapon Description: A sinner with dynamite strapped to his
chest is launched from a crossbow-like device on the front of
Brimstone's car.  If aimed correctly, he will land on the roof of your
opponent's car (or some other part if they don't have a roof) and yell,
"Repent", just before he explodes.  The attack has some pretty good
homing capabilities, which works better at closer ranges.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
- 3c) Outlaw: -
---------------

Vehicle: Armored SUV

Driver: Agent Stone

Story: Agent Stone was a sniper for the police force.  While sniping a
terrorist (from a doomsday cult, possibly the same cult that Roadkill
was in), he let his anger cloud his judgment and accidentally killed a
little girl and her mother along with the terrorist.  He tried to put a
bullet in his own head, but was out of ammo.  He entered the contest to
undo what he had done.  When he wins, Calypso gives him a second
chance.  This time he makes sure every bullet hits the terrorist, and
the little girl and her mother are safe.  However, the terrorist
survived and fires a bullet right through Agent Stone's head (with a
very good shot).

Stats:
------
Control: 5
Speed: 5
Armor: 7
Special: 7

Special Weapon Description: When the special is selected, Agent Stone
will be half out the top of his vehicle, holding a gun.  When you press
fire, he will shoot the gun at any opponents that are around.  If you
see a laser sight aimed at an opponent you can shoot missiles at them
by tapping the fire button rapidly.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
- 3d) Mr. Grimm: -
------------------

Vehicle: Armored motorcycle with side cart

Driver: Mr. Grimm

Story: Mr. Grimm was fighting in the Vietnam War in 1971 along side his
friend, Benny.  Benny was shot (but not fatally) and then they were
both captured by the Vietcong.  An advisor to the Vietcong devised
their torture: he locked them both in a 25-foot pit with no food.  The
advisor threw Mr. Grimm a knife and told him there was only one way he
could survive.  Two days after Benny died (and 7 days in the pit), Mr.
Grimm gave in and ate Benny.  Then he made a helmet out of Benny's
skull as he went insane, and after he was rescued he killed 4 soldiers
in his platoon when they tried to take his helmet off.  He entered the
contest to get revenge on the Advisor who had made him go insane.  When
he wins, Calypso brings him to a room where the advisor is chained up
and with an axe in the corner.  Mr. Grimm kills the Advisor and eats
him, because over the years he had developed a taste for human flesh.

Stats:
------
Control: 10
Speed: 10
Armor: 2
Special: 10

Special Weapon Description: Mr. Grimm throws a scythe straight forward,
which explodes on contact.  It doesn't have any homing capabilities,
but it is very powerful.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
- 3e) Roadkill: -
-----------------

Vehicle: A car

Driver: John Doe

Story: John Doe has complete amnesia and enters the contest to find out
who he is.  After defeating Minion, he remembers being part of a
doomsday cult and planting a bomb in the Midtown Center for Disease
Control building.  When the bomb went off, it would spread diseases all
over the world.  When he wins the contest, Calypso throws him a badge,
which he looks at.  He was in the FBI, and remembers throwing the bomb
out of the window at the last minute and being knocked unconscious.
Then he realizes that he's an undercover FBI agent standing in front of
#2 on the FBI's most wanted list.  As Calypso shoots him, he remembers
that he has a family...

Stats:
------
Control: 8
Speed: 8
Armor: 6
Special: 8

Special Weapon Description: Roadkill has a rack with 6 missiles on it.
Hold the fire button to charge up all of the missiles, and then you can
continue holding it a little longer to charge up the power of the
missiles.  Release the fire button to send your missiles at an opponent
(they have about the same homing capabilities as a fire missile).
However, if you hold the fire button too long, your weapon will
backfire.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
- 3f) Crazy 8: -
----------------

Vehicle: A car (it's orange)

Driver: Frank McCutcheon

Story: Frank used to be a small time boxer, but during one fight he was
knocked out in the first round and suffered a broken jaw.  He went to a
doctor named Dr. Hatch and while the doctor gave him anesthetics, he
told him that he lost $20,000 on the fight.  As revenge, the doctor
removed Frank's eyes and tongue, and sewed his eye sockets and mouth
shut.  When he awoke, Frank tore through the hospital trying to find
the doctor, and killed hurt several innocent people in the process
(which is why he was put in the institute).  He entered the contest to
get revenge.  When he wins, Calypso brings him to a room with the
doctor tied to the wall and gives him a boxing glove with various sharp
objects on it.  Frank punches him with the glove, and drives away
commenting on how that was his first one-hit knockout.

Stats:
------
Control: 7
Speed: 8
Armor: 5
Special: 6

Special Weapon Description: When you fire Crazy 8's special, an
electric field will surround his car and if an enemy is close enough,
it will attack them with electricity.  While an enemy is being attacked
by the electricity, you can cause more damage by pressing the fire
button rapidly.  If your target gets too far away, you'll lose the
connection, so you have to stay close to them.  You can only attack one
opponent at a time.  Also, while you have your special selected if you
tap a direction on the control pad three times in a row, electricity
will form on that side of your car for about a second.  This charges up
your special to max power, but it can only attack cars that are in that
direction.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
- 3g) Spectre: -
----------------

Vehicle: Blue sports car

Driver: Bloody Mary

Story: Bloody Mary comes from a dysfunctional family (her dad killed
her mom and told her ugly girls are tramps and losers).  She was also
rejected and called ugly by the boy she liked when she was a little
girl.  When she was a bridesmaid at one of her friend's wedding, she
snapped, killed her friend, and stole her wedding dress.  She entered
the contest to find her true love.  When she wins, Calypso gives her a
man whose brain he had tampered with.  When she gets to him, he
whispers in her ear, "I will never love you".  Upset by his comment,
she repeatedly strikes him with some object and drives off to try and
find her true love.

Stats:
------
Control: 9
Speed: 9
Armor: 3
Special: 5

Special Weapon Description: Spectre's special is a missile that goes
through anything.  It has pretty good homing as well, so you can hit
opponents from pretty much anywhere.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
- 3h) Darkside: -
-----------------

Vehicle: Semi-truck

Driver: Dollface

Story: Dollface was working at her first job out of college for a mask
maker.  One day she spilt coffee on some papers, and her boss got so
angry that he nailed a mask closed onto her head and locked it with a
strange key.  Dollface entered the contest to get that key so she could
finally get the mask off.  When she wins, Calypso puts the key on a
chain connected to a trap that would kill her boss if she takes the
key.  She takes it anyway, and a human-shaped coffin with spikes on the
inside closes on her boss.  Then she decides she doesn't want the key,
drops it on the ground, and drives away.

Stats:
------
Control: 5
Speed: 4
Armor: 9
Special: 7

Special Weapon Description: When you activate Darkside's special, the
screen will go blurry around the edges and Darkside will launch forward
with a lot of speed.  Your goal is to ram someone during this period.
You can get damage bonuses if you ram them in a certain way.  You get a
T-slide bonus if you ram them with your side (start going at them and
but turn sharply before you hit them while holding the sharp turn
button).  For a ramming bonus, ram them into a wall.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
- 3i) Shadow: -
---------------

Vehicle: Hearse

Driver: Raven

Story: Raven's best friend, Kelly, was killed by two guys and she wants
to get revenge for Kelly.  They dropped Kelly into a lake, and because
she couldn't swim, she drowned.  As her dying wish she asked Raven to
get them back for her.  So Raven entered the contest to do just that.
When she wins, Calypso gives her two voodoo dolls and she uses them to
kill the two guys who killed Kelly.  She also decides to keep them in
case she ever meets her parents again.

Stats:
------
Control: 7
Speed: 6
Armor: 6
Special: 6

Special Weapon Description: Press fire once to shoot a "shadow"
straight forward.  It doesn't detonate by itself, so you have to press
fire again to detonate it.  Shadow also has a secondary special.  If
you press up three times while the special is selected, raven will
eject out of the car, fire a machine gun a few times, and then go back
into her car (it's very similar to Outlaw's special).

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
- 3j) Sweet Tooth: -
--------------------

Vehicle: Tasty Treats ice cream truck

Driver: Sweet Tooth

Story: Sweet Tooth is a serial killer who drives an ice cream truck and
dresses like a clown.  He was caught and sentenced to death by electric
chair.  While being electrocuted, Preacher (the same preacher as the
driver of Brimstone) puts a curse on him that causes his head to be on
fire.  After this, Sweet Tooth breaks the straps holding his arms down,
kills three cops, and gets his mask back on (but you still don't get to
see his face).  He enters the contest to put an end to this curse.
When he wins, Calypso gives him a vile and says that it contains the
blood of the man who put the curse on him.  He says that if Sweet Tooth
drinks it the curse will be lifted, but if he doesn't turn from his
murderous ways the curse will return.  After thinking about it for 10
seconds, Sweet Tooth throws the vile to the ground and slits Calypso's
throat with a knife.  Then he drives off to go commit some more
murders.

Stats:
------
Control: 5
Speed: 4
Armor: 8
Special: 7

Special Weapon Description: When you press fire once, Sweet Tooth's car
will transform into a robot on wheels.  Press fire again to fire 20
missiles with slight homing capabilities (it's like a 20 missile
zoomy).  Also, you get a missile bonus with your 10th hit.  You can
drive around in robot form as long as you like before firing the
missiles.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
- 3k) Yellow Jacket: -
----------------------

Vehicle: Taxi cab

Driver: Charlie Kane and Son

How to Unlock: At the Junkyard in Story Mode (see Junkyard level
section).

Story: One day a passenger in the cab shot Charlie Kane in the head,
and that mad Charlie's son sad.  He and his dad were like best friends.
So, he decides to build a controller that would allow him to reanimate
his dad's corpse and let him to control it.  A lot of people don't like
this, and apparently they want to separate the boy from his dad's
reanimated body.  He enters the contest because Calypso promises to
make everything better.  When he wins, Calypso breaks his controller
and says he's going to train Charlie's son as a replacement for when he
dies.  Calypso also says that the boy's brother (Sweet Tooth) would
have been a perfect choice for a replacement, but since Charlie's son
killed him, he would have to do.

Stats:
------
Control: 7
Speed: 7
Armor: 6
Special: 6

Special Weapon Description: When Yellow Jacket's special is selected,
eight metal spikes will protrude from his car.  Now you can either
press the fire button to fire all of the spikes or ram someone.  The
spikes have very slight homing capabilities, and you get a turbo bonus
if you have turbo activated when you ram someone.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
- 3l) Axel: -
-------------

Vehicle: Axel's two-wheeled machine

Driver: Axel

How to Unlock: At the Freeway in Story Mode (see Freeway level
section).

Story: Axel's wife was kidnapped and pieces of her were mailed to him
over the course of 8 months.  He enters the contest in the vehicle he
created to punish himself so he can find the person who killed his wife
and get revenge.  When he wins, you find out that Sweet Tooth is the
one who killed his wife, and Sweet Tooth is chained to the ground.
Axel shoot Sweet Tooth and drives away saying that the clown is dead
but so is his wife, so he'll never truly be free.

Stats:
------
Control: 6
Speed: 5
Armor: 5
Special: 6

Special Weapon Description: Axel releases a shockwave that damages any
cars that are right next to him and will send them into the air a bit.
Axel also has a second special.  If you press up three times while the
special is selected, Axel will close up his vehicle for a few seconds
so that it is one big wheel.  You can then ram someone during this time
to cause some damage.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
- 3m) Warthog: -
----------------

Vehicle: Station wagon with tank treads instead of wheels

Driver: Cage

How to Unlock: At the Suburbs in Story Mode (see Suburbs level
section).

Story: Cage has been killing for 12 years, but every time he does he
becomes very sad.  He entered the contest because he doesn't want to
feel sad when he kills people anymore.  When he wins, Calypso removes
the part of his brain that makes him feel sad and as a bonus replaces
his hands with large, sharp knife-like hands (which Cage says would
become his trademark so that whenever he killed, people would know it
was him).  Cage then drives away saying that if people were scared of
"that clown freak", he'd show them something they'd never forget.

Stats:
------
Control: 4
Speed: 5
Armor: 9
Special: 7

Special Weapon Description: Warthog's special weapon is a long flame-
thrower.  It burns things.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
- 3n) Manslaughter: -
---------------------

Vehicle: Dump truck

Driver: Black

How to Unlock: At the Prison in story mode (see Prison Passage level
section).

Story: Black entered the contest to kill Calypso.  He says that he only
knows how to eat, crap, and kill (although he can drive too).  When he
wins, Calypso isn't there (so he says, "Ca-lyp-so.  But where did you
go?").  Instead, Calypso left a bomb with a note that says, "Screw you!
Love, Calypso".  The bomb goes off but Black survives (although he
looks a little different now).  Then he just drives away.

Stats:
------
Control: 3
Speed: 3
Armor: 9
Special: 7

Special Weapon Description: Manslaughter's special fires many flaming
rocks from the back of his truck.  It spreads out as it goes, and it's
possible to get many hits.  If you fire it backwards, the rocks will
stay in a pile and if someone runs into them, the rocks explode.
Otherwise they will explode on their own after a few seconds.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
- 3o) Minion: -
---------------

Vehicle: Large gas truck (but not as big as the Minion you fight in
story mode)

Driver: Marcus Kane

How to Unlock: Beat the game with every character.  When you do, you'll
get a cinema (after the cinema of your character) of the destroyed
Minion coming back together and it will say "Beware", "You have
unlocked Minion", "Can you discover his secrets?".

Story: Minion has no movies, but he does say things in text before each
level.  However, he talks in code.  The code is A=1, B=2, C=3, etc. so
it's not very hard to figure out.  The only problem comes in that all
of the numbers are run together so sometimes there is more than one
possible outcome (like 121 could be AU or LA or ABA), but only one way
makes sense.  Here are all 8 things he says (translated from the code):

1) I do not think this is real.
2) I must speak in code or he will discover me.
3) We are trapped in his head.
4) This is how he sees the world, how Sweet Tooth sees his life.  It is
not real.
5) All of us are trapped in his head.
6) I miss the old colorful world.
7) We will return to our world one day.
8) In the real world my name is Marcus Kane.

(For those of you who have never played Twisted Metal 2, Marcus Kane
was the driver of Roadkill.)

Stats:
------
Control: 3
Speed: 3
Armor: 10
Special: 10

Special Weapon Description: Minion's special is different depending on
how far away from your target you are when you activate the special.
If you are close to them when you activate your special, it will shoot
a stream of fire from the large cannon on top of your car that always
follows it's target around, and it you get too far away from them it
will start firing homing fireballs as well.  If you are far away from
them when you activate your special, it will shoot between 6 and 10
large, homing fireballs at them from the same cannon (the number is of
fireballs it shoots is random).  Also, the close range attack is more
powerful than the long range attack.

***********************************************************************
* 4) Weapons/Pickups: *
***********************

This is a list of the different weapons and other pick-ups that
appear throughout the levels and what they do.  They all regenerate
(although repair stations don't always regenerate, but they're not
really pick-ups anyway...) and are helpful in various ways.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
- 4a) Machine Gun/Upgrade: -
----------------------------

The machine gun has unlimited ammo, but will overheat for a few
seconds if fired too much.  The upgrades that you can pick up give you
30 bullets that have a slightly improved rate of fire and strength (you
can hold a maximum of 60 of these bullets).

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
- 4b) Homing Missile: -
-----------------------

Homing missiles are the weakest missile, but have the best homing
capabilities.  You start with two of them and each pick-up will give
you two more.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
- 4c) Fire Missile: -
---------------------

Fire missiles are stronger than homing missiles but can't home as
well.  You start with two and each pick-up will give you two more.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
- 4d) Power Missile: -
----------------------

Power missiles are the strongest missiles but have no homing
capabilities.  Each pick-up gives you one power missile.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
- 4e) Gas Can: -
----------------

When you launch a gas can it will fly straight forward and a large
red crosshair will go with it along the ground.  You can detonate it by
pressing the fire button again, and it will fall to the center of the
crosshair.  If any vehicles are near the gas can when it lands, they
will receive damage and probably start on fire.  If they are at the
center of the crosshair when you detonate the gas can, you get a Bull's
Eye bonus.  If you hit more than one opponent at once, you'll get a
Multiple Hits bonus.  Also, if you press down, up, down and then the
fire button, you'll drop the gas can behind you as a remote mine.  Each
pick-up gives you one gas can.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
- 4f) Ricochet: -
-----------------

The ricochet goes straight along the ground and will bounce off of
the walls until it hits someone or explodes.  If it bounces off of a
wall (or anything else) before it hits an opponent you'll get a Bank
Shot bonus.  Each pick-up gives you one ricochet.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
- 4g) Environment Weapons: -
----------------------------

Environment weapons have different effects on each level.  They use a
component of the environment to attack any vehicles that are nearby.
Each pick-up gives you one environment attack.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
- 4h) Skill-based Weapons: -
----------------------------

Skill-based weapons can be some of the most powerful weapons in the
game.  The amount of damage they inflict depends on how well you can
use them.  There are three different skill-based weapons and only one
pick-up for all of them.  When you pick it up, you'll get one of the
three weapons randomly.  You can only hold one skill-based weapon at a
time.

1) Reticle: When you have this weapon selected, a large green box will
appear on the screen and a green x will appear on any vehicles that are
on the screen.  When you press fire, you'll have 5 seconds to try to
keep an opponent in the green box.  When you press fire again, it will
fire an amount of missiles at the target that depends on how long they
were in the green box, with a maximum possibility of 10 missiles.
Press it when the counter says 0 to fire 10 missiles and you'll get the
missile bonus if your target was in the box the whole time and all of
the missiles hit them.  If you don't fire it before the five seconds is
up it will backfire (which means you don't fire any missiles, not that
you get hurt).

2) Satellite: When you have the satellite selected, there will be a
large green crosshair in front of you.  When you press the fire button,
the satellite will shoot into the air and the cross hair will change
color to yellow and then red.  When you press fire again, the satellite
will fire to the center of the crosshair, damaging anything within
range.  If you wait too long, it will fire on its own.

3) Zoomy: When you fire the zoomy, it will rapidly shoot 10 missiles
that have a little bit of homing capability.  If all 10 hit opponents,
you'll get a damage bonus.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
- 4i) Turbo: -
--------------

Your turbo energy is shown in the green bar at the bottom of the
screen.  When you get a turbo energy pick-up it will completely refill
your turbo meter.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
- 4j) Health/Repair Stations: -
------------------------------

Health will add a little bit of energy to your life meter.  It's not
as good as a repair station, but it will regenerate after a certain
amount of time (said amount of time is not always the same).
Repair stations completely refill your life energy.  They show up on
your radar as little white x's.  The amount of times you can use the
repair stations depends on the skill level you're playing on, and the
number of repair stations in a level doesn't affect this number.  On
easy you can use the repair stations 4 times per level, on medium you
can use them twice per level, and on hard you can only use them one
time per level.

***********************************************************************
* 5) Energy Attacks: *
**********************

Energy attacks are entered during play, and take a certain amount of
your special meter (which gradually recharges).  If you use the left
analog stick to enter the commands, you have to press the joystick (L3)
to do the attack after the directions (but for rear-fire press L2
*after* you press L3, and you don't have to press L3 to jump).

Freeze: up, down, up
-------
Mine: right, left, down (hold down for one second for charge-up mine)
-----
Invisibility: left, left, down, down
-------------
Shield: right, right, down, down
-------
Jump: L1+R1 (in the default control mode)
-----
Rear-fire Weapon: left, right, down, L2 (in default control mode)
-----------------

***********************************************************************
* 6) Levels: *
**************

This section is to give some information about all of the levels.  It
will explain what some of the more notable interactive parts of the
levels are, what the environmental weapon of the level does (if there
is one), how many repair stations there are, where the health pick-ups
are, and the locations of secret items.  All of the secret items only
appear in Story mode.  I probably don't have all of the health pick-up
locations yet, but I've got most of them.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
- 6a) Junkyard: -
-----------------

Size: Medium

Interactive Things:
1) There is a plane that circles the arena that can be shot down (I'd
recommend using fire missiles or homing missiles, and a good location
to shoot from is at the top of the cliff that leads to the sewer area).
After you shoot it down, it crashes, allowing you to access a secret
area that has a bunch of weapon pick-ups and a heath pick-up (if you
are in the way when the plane crashes, you die.  It's cool).  You can
enter it from the dead end of the sewer and can exit the same way you
came in, or you can go all of the way through the plane to exit by the
car crusher.

2) You can destroy the pizza boy statue with any weapons to for a
little ramp.  You can shoot missiles at it from the furnace-like thing,
or you can just throw a couple gas cans at it.

Environment Weapon:
Bomber attack: It causes the bomber to fire its machine gun at any
enemies to its left.

Repair Stations: 1

Health Locations:
1) Inside the tunnel with the walls that can crush you.

2) Inside the bomber (use the severed wing as a ramp to get inside).

3) Near the start of the piece of highway that you have to ramp onto.

4) At the end of the piece of highway.

5) Inside the tunnel made by the plane after you shoot it down.  The
tunnel entrance will be at the bottom of the sewer-like area, by the
dead end.

6) Above the vertical car crusher (you can use the pizza boy statue
ramp to get on to the crusher).

7) By a pile of rubble near the vertical car crusher.

8) Go along the circular ramp by the repair station until you get to
the area where you can jump to the section of highway.  To the left
you'll see a window on the warehouse building.  Go through it to get a
health pick-up in the air.

Secrets:
1) After you shoot down the plane go inside the tunnel it makes.
You'll come across a circular room with a control panel in it.  Destroy
the control panel to unlock Yellow Jacket.

2) Destroy the pizza boy statue to make a ramp.  When the vertical
crusher comes down, jump over the ramp and onto it.  To the right of
the platform at the top, you'll see a black cube.  Grab it to unlock
the Warhawk level.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
- 6b) Suburbs: -
----------------

Size: Massive

Interactive Things:
1) There is a carnival in this town with a ferris wheel in it.  If you
shoot out one of the supports of this ferris wheel, it will roll
through the city and right into the lake that is out of bounds.  If you
or any other cars get under the ferris wheel while it is moving, you'll
receive some damage (a small amount, mind you).

2) There's a watertower in the town, and if you destroy two of its legs
it will fall.  It won't damage anyone, but it does spill out some
water.  And everyone loves water.

3) Most of the buildings in this level can be destroyed, often
rewarding you with a pick-up.  It's very full of interactive things.

Environment Weapon:
Lightning Attack: It causes lightning to hit any and all cars close
enough to the storm cloud (not unlike the lightning attack in Twisted
Metal 2).  Be careful, because it will attack you as well.  There's a
pick-up under the ferris wheel.

Repair Stations: 2

Health Locations:
1) Inside the Raven Ridge Asylum (the building on top of the large
hill).

2) On the grass by the parking lot of the Raven Ridge Asylum.

3) In the middle of an intersection in the town.

4) Inside the church (shoot the doors to get in).

5) Inside the gas station building near one of the repair stations.

6) Just outside of the town on a small hill are a few houses.  Inside
one red house that's kind of off by itself, you'll find a health pick-
up (it's in the same general area as #6).

7) There's a big drop-off near the area from #6 that leads to the town.
You can get this health pick-up by going over the drop-off.

8) On top of the industrial building that you ramp onto from the
carnival area (see secret #1).

9) From the first building you ramp onto from the carnival area, drive
onto the brown-roofed building and keep going until you reach the flat
roof with the boxes (you may have to jump at the last ramp).  Shoot the
boxes to find the health.

Secrets:
1) Go to the carnival area and look for a big hill with a gas can pick-
up on it.  Drive as fast as you can through the gas can pick-up and
after you get in the air, hold the brake button.  You should be on top
of a building with a little square thing on it.  Destroy that to reveal
a hole.  Go through the hole and shoot the console to unlock Warthog.

2) From the first building you can ramp onto from the carnival area, go
to the far building with the health.  Then use the jump energy attack
to get onto the building to the right.  From there, jump to the
building on your new right and shoot the box to find a black cube,
which will unlock the Prison Passage level.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
- 6c) Freeway: -
----------------

Size: Massive

Interactive Things:
1) Above the freeway, between the construction yard and the stadium, is
a large bridge with trains running on it.  You can destroy this bridge
by firing missiles, gas cans, or anything you have into it.  It's
easier to hit on either side where it comes out of the wall, because
it's a little lower there.  After it's destroyed, when the train comes
it will crash into the wall and explode.  This isn't very helpful, but
it looks cool.

Environment Weapons: none

Repair Stations: 2

Health Locations:
1) Inside the mall, by the reception desk.

2) Above a little hill in the construction yard (sort of near the
repair station).

3) On the ramp that leads to the stadium from the highway (you can also
get it when leaving the stadium).

4) Right next to #3

Secrets:
1) If you go to the construction yard area and look at the background,
you'll see a large crane holding a crate.  If you shoot the red box
near the top of the crane it will set down the crate, and you can
destroy the crate to unlock Axel.  To destroy the red box find a place
where you are angled correctly on the ground and fire a missile, or you
can try some gas cans.  This can be pretty hard to do, so you might
want to kill most of your opponents to take some of the pressure off of
you.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
- 6d) Downtown: -
-----------------

Size: Medium

Interactive Things:
1) There are two buildings next to each other: one with the words
"Skyway Tower" and a picture of some skyscrapers on it, and the other
with a sign that says "Joe's Diner" and has a rotating coffee cup on
it.  If you shoot one of the doors of either building, you can take an
elevator to the top where you'll find some weapons and a health pick-
up.

2) If you look behind one of the boundary walls by the river, you'll
notice some large round objects (by the R&D Chemicals building, on the
left side).  If you hit the one closest to the river with a gas can, it
will roll out and hit the Atom Bank, blowing it up.  Inside the rubble
of the bank you'll find 3 health pick-ups.
3) Throw a gas can at the round thing farthest from the river, and it
will go out and destroy the building behind the bank.  In the rubble,
you'll find 6 power missile pick-ups.
4) You can destroy the bridges by breaking (i.e. - running into) one of
their guardrails at the center of the bridge.

Environment Weapons:
Helicopter Attack:  You may have noticed a couple of helicopters
circling around the level that aren't carrying items.  When you
activate the environmental weapon, if causes the helicopter that
circles near the center to attack the nearest opponent (so it will
attack an opponent near the center).

Repair Stations: 2

Health Locations:
1) On a bridge on the top of the Skyway tower/Joe's Diner.

2) There is a building on the far side of the town on the left as you
come from the center that has several pillars.  Just past these pillars
is some health.

3) In the center of the bridge without the ropes along the sides.

4) On some cement next to the central bridge without the ropes along
the side.

5) On the side of the bridge with the ropes along the side, in the air.

6) Inside the Atom Bank after you blow it up.

7) Same as #6.

8) Same as #6 (If you destroy the bank early into the level, this one
may not be there yet.  It will generate soon, though.)

Secrets:
1) From the elevator in Joe's Diner (see interactive things #1), turn
left.  Drive very slowly off the edge at the corner and you should land
on a ledge that goes around the outside of the building.  Shoot the
Coffee cup/sign to reveal a black cube.  Jump to grab the cube that
unlocks Minion's Stadium.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
- 6e) Highway Loop: -
---------------------

Size: Large

Interactive Things:
1) Near the slightly raised bridge you'll see some of those round
things like in the Downtown level.  If you throw a gas can at them, one
of them will roll out onto the road and into the tunnel where it will
blow a hole in the wall (unless someone hits it first).

Environment Weapons: none

Repair Stations: 1

Health Locations:
1) Over the gap of the raised bridge.

2) Also over the gap of the raised bridge.

3) Over the hole surrounded by cones.

4) On the incline that leads to the lower part of the highway.

5) Inside the hole in the tunnel made by the round thing (see
interactive thing #1).

Secrets:
1) By the bridge you'll find a chemical plant with round chemical
storage dealies.  If you throw a gas can into the round things, it will
come out and roll over the bridge and into the tunnel where it will
open up a secret area.  Unfortunately, if you or any of your opponents
run into the round thing, it will explode and you'll have to restart
the level to try again.  So, you might want to wait until most of your
opponents are dead before you do this.  Go inside the secret area to
find a black cube in the corner that unlocks the level, Elevators.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
- 6f) Minion's Stadium: -
-------------------------

Size: Small

Minion Strategy:
This is the level where you'll fight Minion during story mode.  When
you start Minion has a shield that must be destroyed before you can
hurt him.  To destroy the shield, you have to destroy the four panels
(front, rear, left, and right).

To destroy the panels, you just have to hit Minion on the corresponding
side (shoot him in the front to destroy the front panel, on the left
side to destroy the left panel, etc.).  The front panel will take the
most hits, the left and right will take about the same amount of damage
before dying, and the back panel can be destroyed with one homing
missile (but it's the hardest to hit since Minion is usually facing
you).

I'd recommend using homing missiles, fire missiles, and the machine gun
to destroy the panels, but you can use anything.  After you destroy the
forth panel, the shield will be destroyed and you can use your more
powerful weapons to destroy him.  To avoid taking too much damage, try
to keep moving and don't let him get too close.  His close range attack
is very powerful, so if you want to get close I'd recommend using the
shield and not staying close for very long.

Environment Weapons: none

Repair Stations: none

Health Location:
1) On one of the pillar things that are accessed from the top level.
2) Above one of the closed doors.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
- 6g) Prison Passage: -
-----------------------

Size: Massive

Level Note: On this level you start in a tiny room on a ship but after
a while the doors of this room will open up, giving access to the rest
of the ship.  This ship is headed for an island and you'll soon land
and the gates will open, allowing you to drive onto the island (but you
can always return to the ship).

Interactive Things:
1) You can get the drawbridge to lower by shooting either tollbooth.

2) You can destroy the blimp, but a new one will come to replace it.
If you run into it while it's blowing up you can catch on fire.

3) At the front of the ship is a platform with three men in electric
chairs and there is a little box in front of that platform.  If you
destroy the box, it will activate the electric chairs and the men will
be electrocuted for a few seconds before going limp.

Environment Weapon:
Blimp Attack: The blimp that flies around will attack any vehicles that
are nearby with lightning (just like the lightning attack from other
levels).

Repair Stations: 2

Health Locations:
1) At the top of one of the ramps on the ship (you can access it as
soon as you get out of the small starting room).

2) At the top of the other ramp on the ship.

3) On the drawbridge (after it goes down).

4) Just past the drawbridge on the road.

5) Behind a large building in the prison area

6) Above the lava area, at about the same height as the prison area.
Drive into it from the area where #5 was.

7) On a box right next to the base of the ship.  Shoot the box to make
it form a ramp.

8) Under the bridge that leads to and from the ship in the same
building as #7.

Secrets:
1) At the base of the ship is a box with a health pick-up on it (note
that this is the outside of the ship, and you have to go outside and to
the underground area to get here).  Shoot the box to make it form a
ramp.  Go up the ramp and shoot the part of the side of the ship where
the box is touching it a few times with your machine gun and a door
will open.  Go inside and destroy the console to unlock Manslaughter.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
- 6h) Snowy Roads: -
--------------------

Size: Small

Environment Weapon:
Lightning Attack: It's exactly the same as the one in the Downtown
level.  It causes any cars near the storm cloud to be attacked with
lightning.

Repair Stations: 1

Health Locations:
1) On the side of the road by the repair station.

2) On a ledge past the barrier behind Jolly Joe's gas station.

3) Over the ramp by the ski lift.

4) On a ledge past the barrier by the ski lift.

5) On another ledge past the barrier across the open area from the ski
lift.

Secrets:
1) Past the barrier behind Jolly Joe's gas station is a little flat
area with a health pick-up on it.  If you go down there and then turn
right and drive onto the hill, you can find a black cube that unlocks
the Power Plant level.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
- 6i) Drive-in Movie: -
-----------------------

Size: Small

Interactive Things:
1) The movie screen will normally show your view, but if you destroy
the window that is projecting, the screen will be blank.  Also, if you
hit the screen with a weapon (gas cans work well) it will fall forward
and explode.

2) You can blow up the bridge.

Environment Weapon: none

Repair Stations: none

Health Locations:
1) In the center of the arena.

2) Just to the side of the bridge, in the air.

3) On the other side of the bridge, in the air.

4) Inside the building to the left of the movie screen (when you're
facing it.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
- 6j) Skyscrapers: -
--------------------

Size: Large

Level Strategy: In the area with the electric fence, there is a gap.
If you wait by this gap, many of the CPU opponents will not make it
over the gap and fall to their death.  It works best on slow opponents,
like Darkside and Warthog, but I've gotten everyone to fall off before.

Environment Weapon: none

Repair Stations: 2

Health Locations:
1) On the edge of the building, by the broken plane.

2) Above the broken plane half that acts as a ramp (jump down from the
upper level to get it).

3) At the exit from the building that is green on the inside.

4) At the edge of the building with the fan pits of death.

5) Under the billboard that says "Franklin Building", or on it after it
turns into a ramp.
</pre><pre id="faqspan-2">
6) On the roof of the church.

7) On the path with the wrecking ball going back and forth.

8) On top of the roof that the plane ramp leads to with the repair
station, on the edge of the building.

Secrets:
1) After the "Franklin" Billboard is shot down (it bridges the gap
between the building with the broken jet and the building with the
helicopter landing pad), drive onto it.  Coming from the building with
the helicopter landing pad, drive off of it to the right and over the
edge to get the black cube that unlocks the sewers (you'll die).

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
- 6k) Warhawk's Rooftop: -
--------------------------

Size: Small

Warhawk Strategy: To beat Warhawk, you must first destroy his shield.
To do this you need to deactivate the tankers that come from a building
in the background while they are near the center of the arena, and then
blow them up when Warhawk is hovering in the center.

After a few tankers are destroyed to damage his shield, you can attack
Warhawk directly.  You can hit him with fire missile, homing missiles,
and the like, but what I find works well is to go to the center of the
arena when he is hovering there and then shoot anything you have at the
spiked pole he has at the front of his helicopter.

Also, while you are relatively safe from Warhawk's attacks in the
structures, he can destroy them if he hits them enough, so be careful.
Use your shield a lot when you're not in the structures and be careful
that he doesn't push you off of the building with his evil spike
dealie.

Environment Weapons: none

Repair Stations: none

Health Locations:
1) Inside one of the structures.
2) Inside the other structure.
3) In the center of the arena.

Secrets:
1) Go to the center of the arena and face right at the building where
the tankers come from.  Drive as fast as you can off the edge to grab a
black box that opens the Skyscrapers level (with slower characters you
may need to use turbo).  Oh, and you will die getting it, of course.

***********************************************************************
* 7) Multi-player Levels: *
***************************

These are levels not covered in the level section.  You can play all
of the other levels in Multiplayer as well (most need unlocking,
though) but these levels can only be played in multiplayer mode.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

floor to get it)

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
- 7b) Power Plant: -
--------------------

Unlock: Get the black cube in the Snowy Roads level.

Size: Medium

Environmental Weapon:
Lightning attack: Lightning shoots out from a tower and attacks any
vehicles close enough.  Unlike other levels with lightning attacks,
there is a circle on the ground which shows how close a vehicle has to
be to the tower to be hit by lightning.

1) Above the road, near one of the dead ends with the "Danger: No
Trespassing" sign (ramp to it from the dirt along the side of the
road).

electrocute the guys in the electric chairs is on the Prison Passage
level).

2) In one of the buildings on the top level of the ship (you have to
fall down to the bottom level to get it).

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
- 7f) Asylum Halls: -
---------------------

- 7g) Mini Downtown: -
----------------------

I find it works
well to position your car on the incline of the river facing the round
thing, right at the edge of the green graffiti and fire from at the it
from there.  Inside the rubble of the bank you'll find 3 health pick-
ups.

3) Throw a gas can at the round thing farthest from the river, and it
will go out and destroy the building behind the bank.  In the rubble,
you'll find 6 power missile pick-ups.

4) You can destroy the bridges by breaking one of the guardrails at the
center of the bridge.

Environment Weapons:
Helicopter Attack:  The helicopter that doesn't carry an item (it will
be near the center of the level) will fire at the nearest opponent.
You won't get hurt unless you get in the way.

Health Locations:
1) On a bridge on the top of the Skyway tower/Joe's Diner.

2) In the center of the bridge without the ropes along the sides.

3) On some cement next to the central bridge without the ropes along
the side.

4) On the side of the bridge with the ropes along the side, in the air.

5) Inside the Atom Bank after you blow it up.

6) Same as #6.

7) Same as #6 (if you destroy the bank early into the level, this one
may not be there yet.  It will generate soon, though).

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
- 7h) Mini Suburbs: -
----------------------

Unlock: Get 10 kills on Drive-in Movies level in Endurance Mode.

Size: Medium

Interactive Things:
1) There is a carnival in this town with a ferris wheel in it.  If you
shoot out one of the supports of this ferris wheel, it will roll
through the city and right into the lake that is out of bounds.  If you
or any other cars get under the ferris wheel while it is moving, you'll
receive some damage.

2) There's a watertower in the town, and if you destroy two of its legs
it will fall.  It won't damage anyone, but it does spill out some
water.  Water is good.

Environment Weapon:
Lightning Attack: It causes lightning to hit any cars close enough to
the storm cloud.  Be careful, because it will attack you as well.

Health Locations:
1) In the middle of an intersection in the town.

2) Inside the church (shoot the doors to get in).

3) On top of the industrial building that you ramp onto from the
carnival area (see secret #1).

4) From the first building you ramp onto from the carnival area, drive
onto the brown-roofed building and keep going until you reach the flat
roof with the boxes (you may have to jump at the last ramp).  Shoot the
boxes to find the health.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
- 7i) Unlocking Story Mode Levels -

Any Story Mode levels not listed here are already unlocked.  For
information on how to get each cube, see the levels section.

Freeway: Get 10 kills on Snowy roads in Endurance Mode.

Minion's Stadium: Get the black cube in the Downtown level.

Prison Passage: Get the black cube in the Suburbs level.

Skyscrapers: Get the black cube in the Warhawk's Rooftop level.

Warhawk's Rooftop: Get the black cube in the Junkyard level.

***********************************************************************
* 8) One-Player Modes: *
************************

These are the types of gameplay available when you play by yourself.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
- 8a) Story Mode: -
-------------------

In story mode, you progress through levels with a single character.
You get two extra lives every level, can retry a level as many times as
it takes, and can save after every level.  You don't have to play every
level, because you will often be given a choice between two levels.
You'll unlock character videos after defeating Minion and after
defeating Warhawk.  Also note that all of the secrets can be collected
only in Story Mode.  Here is the level progression:

1) Junkyard
2) Suburbs or Freeway
3) Downtown or Highway Loop
4) Minion's Stadium
5) Prison Passage
6) Snowy Roads or Drive-in Theatre
7) Skyscrapers
8) Warhawk's Rooftop

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
- 8b) Challenge Mode: -
-----------------------

In challenge mode you select a character, a level, and up to eight
opponents to fight in the level you selected.  At first many of the
levels are locked, but you can open them up by finding black cubes or
by getting a set amount of kills in a specific level in Endurance Mode.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
- 8c) Endurance Mode: -
-----------------------

In Endurance mode, you fight an endless stream of cars one on one until
you either die or get bored and quit.  You select a character and
level, and it will randomly select 8 enemies for you to fight.  If you
get a certain number of kills on a certain level, you can unlock levels
to play in Challenge mode and Multiplayer modes.  Here are the
levels/requirements and what level they unlock:

15 kills on the Junkyard:     Unlocks Prison Ship
10 kills on Snowy roads:      Unlocks Freeway
10 kills on Drive-in Movies:  Unlocks Mini-Suburbs

***********************************************************************
* 9) Multi-Player Modes: *
**************************

These are the different types of games you can play with more than one
person.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
- 9a) 2-4 Player Deathmatch: -
------------------------------

In this mode, you and up to three other people will fight each other in
the level of your choice.  There are no CPU cars and often parts of the
levels have fewer features (like fewer cars and pedestrians in levels
such as the Suburbs, Downtown, Highway Loop, and the Freeway).  In 2
player mode, you can fight for 3 rounds, 5 rounds, 7 rounds, or
continuously.  After every round you can choose to stay in the current
level or select a new one.  The first player will pick the starting
level, but after that whoever wins gets to pick the level.  For 3 or 4
players, you can play free for all or on teams.  If you play free for
all, you can set the number of kills required to complete, and if you
play as team, you can set the number of lives per team.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
- 9b) 2 Player Co-op Story: -
-----------------------------

In this mode, you and one other person will play through story mode
together.  You'll get the same number of lives and repair station uses
as in one player story mode, but now you have to share them (and unlike
in Twisted Metal 2, the other player doesn't get full health if one of
you dies).  Also, some parts of the game are made more challenging,
such as the fight with Minion.  Now his back panel is just as strong as
the front panel (if not stronger).  The other panels are a little
stronger than they were before, and his health will go down slower as
well.  When you kill Warhawk (that battle is pretty much the same),
you'll get a short ending that shows all of the contestants faces and
it will tell you to play one player story mode to uncover more of each
characters story.  Then you get the credits as normal.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
- 9c) 2 Player Last Man Standing: -
-----------------------------------

In this mode, you'll have four different cars to play as, and the first
one to have all four destroyed loses.  The first player will pick the
first and third car, and the second player will pick the second and
forth car.  You'll both start as the same car and play through your
cars in the order they were picked in.

* 10) Miscellaneous: *
*********************

This is a section for putting in any miscellaneous information.  I'll
probably add more soon.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
- 10a) Helicopters: -
--------------------

The helicopters are in all of the levels, and they carry items on
ropes.  The items they carry are health, machine gun upgrades, and
power missiles.  The item will change every few seconds, so if there's
something different that you want you just have to wait for it.  Also,
you can destroy them with just about anything but if they have an item
you probably won't be able to get it.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
- 10b) Black Cubes: -
--------------------

This section will tell you which level each cube is on, and what that
cube unlocks.  You unlock these levels for Challenge mode and Multi
Player modes.  Also note that the Black Cubes are only found in Story
Mode.

1) Unlock Warhawk's Rooftop:  Junkyard

Destroy the pizza boy statue to make a ramp.  When the vertical
crusher comes down, jump over the ramp and onto it.  To the right of
the platform at the top, you'll see a black cube.  Grab it to unlock
  the Warhawk level.

2) Unlock Prison Passage:     Suburbs

From the first building you can ramp onto from the carnival area, go
to the far building with the health.  Then use the jump energy
"attack" to get onto the building to the right.  From there, jump to
the building on your new right and shoot the box to find a black
cube, which will unlock the Prison Passage level.

3) Unlock Minion's Stadium:   Downtown

From the elevator in Joe's Diner, turn left.  Drive very slowly off
the edge at the corner and you should land on a ledge that goes
around the outside of the building.  Shoot the Coffee cup/sign to
reveal a black cube.  Jump to grab the cube that unlocks Minion's
  Stadium.

4) Unlock Elevators:          Highway Loop

By the bridge you'll find a chemical plant with round chemical
storage dealies.  If you throw a gas can into the round things, one
will come out and roll over the bridge and into the tunnel where it
will open up a secret area.  Unfortunately, if you or any of your
opponents run into the round thing, it will explode and you'll have
to restart the level to try again.  So, you might want to wait until
most of your opponents are dead before you do this.  Go inside the
secret area to find a black cube in the corner that unlocks the
  level, Elevators.

5) Unlock Power Plant:        Snowy Roads

Past the barrier behind Jolly Joe's gas station is a little flat
area with a health pick-up on it.  If you go down there and then
turn right and drive onto the hill, you can find a black cube that
  unlocks the Power Plant level.

6) Unlock Sewers:             Skyscrapers

After the "Franklin" Billboard is shot down (it bridges the gap
between the building with the broken jet and the building with the
helicopter landing pad), drive onto it.  Coming from the building
with the helicopter landing pad, drive off of it to the right and
over the edge to get the black cube that unlocks the sewers (you'll
  die).

7) Unlock Skyscrapers:        Warhawk's Rooftop

Go to the center of the arena and face the building where the
tankers come from.  Drive as fast as you can off the edge to grab a
black box that opens the Skyscrapers level (with slower characters
you may need to use turbo).  Oh, and you will die getting it, of
  course.

- 10c) Misc. Tips: -
--------------------

I needed a place to put some random tips, so I thought I'd create a
section here.  I might add or remove some of them as fashion dictates.

- It's usually a good strategy to always be moving, because when you
stop you're much easier to hit.

- After you kill an opponent, the driver will often run away on fire.
If you run them over, you will usually get a little health boost.

- Use repair stations sparingly.  The computer opponents can't use them
and you're limited in the amount of times you can use them.  If you
only need a little bit of health, get a health pick-up instead since
they regenerate.

- Use the energy attacks.  I find the sheild, rear fire, and freeze
work particularly well.

- Make sure you always have a good supply of weapons, for killing and
other such activities.
