2. Zhou Yu Biography
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Zhou Yu, style named Gongjin, was born in 175 AD to a wealthy family. When he
was young, Sun Jian's family moved into the area. Sun Ce, Sun Jian's oldest
son, became fast friends with Zhou Yu, and the two grew up together. When Zhou
Yu became older, he was often referred to as "The Handsome Zhou Yu", due to
his impeccable good looks.

When Sun Ce went to battle against Liu Yao, Zhou Yu followed him, bringing
troops of his own. Sun Ce was happy to see his childhood friend at his side,
and the two of them went on to found the Wu territory. They also both married
two sisters from the Qiao family, who were said to be the most beautiful girls
in all the land.

Sun Ce was assassinated at the age of 25, leaving his brother, Sun Quan, to
lead Wu. Since Quan was so young, Zhou Yu had to help him with the
administration of the country.

The battle Zhou Yu is most famous for is the Battle of Chi Bi. Zhou Yu
orchestrated the battle, and with the help of Huang Gai, the Wu-Shu coalition
defeated Cao Cao's much larger fleet. Huang Gai saw a flaw in Cao Cao's fleet,
allowing him to use a fire attack, Zhou Yu quickly attacked, pushing Cao Cao
back to the north.

Zhou Yu became sick in 210 AD, and died at the age of 35. On his deathbed, he
named Lu Su to be his successor, and told Sun Quan to listen to his advice. He
died later that night, leaving behind his widow and two sons.

3. Why Should I Use Zhou Yu?
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Zhou Yu is one of the best jugglers in DW5. He has a great move set, perfect
for defeating enemy generals. Combos are definitely his strong point. He also
has an excellent running attack that could make quick work of grunt soldiers.
He has good crowd control, but not great, just enough to get the job done. IMO
he is the best sword user in the game. Once you learn how to use him, generals
will fall in just one combo.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
4. Unlocking Zhou Yu
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

First, turn on your PS2. Then, make sure that your DW5 disc is in the tray.
When the game starts, choose Musou Mode, or Free Mode. Take a look at the Wu
characters, and he is the first in line. Yup, Zhou Yu is playable from the
very start of DW5.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
5. Move Set
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
S = Square
T = Triangle

S – A single slash to the right

SS – Slashes to the right, then left

SSS – Slashes right, left, then right again

SSSS – Slashes right, left, right, the does an upward hit

SSSSS – Slashes right, left, right, up, then spins and slashes to the left

SSSSSS – Slashes right, left, right, up, spins and slashes left, then does a
wide slash to the right

Evolution (Requires a weapon with an Evolution Attack. These weapons will be
either Level 3 or 4, and will have a blue dot next to the weapon name.)

SSSSSSS – Adds an upward hit to the SSSSSS

SSSSSSSS – Follows up hit a hit to the left

SSSSSSSSS – Finishes off with a very wide attack on the right side

T – Throws a Fire Orb forward. Explodes after a few seconds.

ST – Zhou Yu uppercuts the enemy, sending him upwards. Not very good, his
SSSST is much better.

SST (TTT) – Does a nice combo where Zhou Yu spins 180 degrees each time,
hitting the enemy. It looks as though he is dancing. The number of times you
can do this move depends on what level weapon you have. Stuns all enemies hit
at the end

SSST – Zhou Yu jumps up, hits the enemy while in the air, turns clockwise, for
another hit, then turns counterclockwise to get the last hit in. Looks very
cool.

SSSST – A whirlwind surrounds Zhou Yu, throwing all close by enemies into the
air. Works wonders for combos.

SSSSST – Throws a wide, charged slash, swinging to the right. Knocks the
enemies very far away from you.

Musou: A series of upward hits that send the enemies up. Works well for
combos.

True Musou: Same as his musou, but at the end, Zhou Yu thrusts his sword
forward, causing a huge explosion. Looks great.

S (While running) – Zhou Yu continues to run, while swinging his sword in
front of him. This is very effective against small numbers of soldiers. It
also stuns the enemies.

S (Jumping) – Slashes to the left

T (Jumping) – Throws a circular beam forward, does a flip, and then hits the
ground with his sword, causing a shockwave.

S (Horse) - Hits to the side. The standard horse attack.

T (Horse) - A charged hit to each side. Yawn.

Musou (Horse) – A strong hit on each side. Don't bother using this.

How To Get Zhou Yu's Level 4 Weapon:

This one is really easy; I actually got it on accident. Start playing the
stage "The Battle of the Wu Territory" on Sun Ce's side, and make sure that
the difficulty is set on Hard or Chaos Mode. Now, all you have to do is take
over both of the enemy forts. (Not the one at the bottom, where Taishi Ci is,
the other two). To do this, you must kill both Yan Baihu and Wang Lang. After
that is done, you should get a valuable item report in the last fort. The box
can be found on top of the western wall.

7. Musou Mode Stages
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

1.      Battle of Si Shui Gate
2.      Battle of Jing Province
3.      Battle of the Wu Territory
4.      Battle of Xia Kou
5.      Battle of Chi Bi

Strategies coming soon, if I get requests for them, or if I have any free
time.

8. Character Models
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dynasty Warriors 5 offers 4 different models for each character. Here are Zhou
Yu's:

Model 1: Zhou Yu is wearing red and white robes. This is his starting costume.

Model 2: A palette change of his first costume. He is now wearing a dark red
robe. This is my personal favorite. Unlocked after Zhou Yu gets 6000 points.

Model 3: His DW4 costume. The front is red, while the back is white. Unlocked
after Zhou Yu gets 20000 points.

Model 4: Another DW4 costume. The front is white, the back is red, and Zhou
Yu's hair is in a ponytail. Not too shabby. Unlocked after Zhou Yu gets 20000
points.

9. Recommended Items
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Saddle: Shadow Harness – The best harness, hands down. This makes it so you
cannot be knocked off of your horse. Unless you are looking for pure speed,
use this. If you are looking for pure speed, use the Red Hare.

Orb: Fire – Fire is a juggler's best friend. Use your charge moves to light
the enemy (most likely a general) on fire, then keep him up in the air using
charge moves, to make sure he stays in the air.

Item Slot 1: Tiger Amulet – More attack never hurt anyone.

Item Slot 2: Tortoise Amulet – Defense is better than health, since it will
keep you from being stunned by enemy attacks, so always have this equipped.

Item Slot 3: Peacock Urn – Defense may be better than life, but both are
important. More life means you can take more hits, so this is a very good
option.

Item Slot 4: Wind Scroll – More range is always nice. Zhou Yu could always use
extra help on crowd control.

Item Slot 5: Ginseng, Herbal Remedy, Musou Armor, Panacea – Or whatever floats
your boat. I just listed a couple of options to give you an idea.
