II. Introduction

Meng Huo is the Nanman tribe king. He is one big huge hunking powerhouse. To
bad he's so unbelievably SLOW!!!! But thats why they made saddles. Also he is
like Xu Zhu, slow attack start up. So always keep that in mind.

Unfortunately there are now biographies of Meng Huo that I could find. So this
biography may not be 100 % accurate. E-mail me if I missed something. By the
way, this information was summarized from http://www.threekingdoms.com

Meng Huo - Style name: unkown
Lifespan: ?-?

Meng Huo was the most influencial ruler of the Nanman tribe south of the lands
of Shu-Han. Before embarking on his first northern expedition, Zhuge Liang
wished to eliminate any threat he would have from the rear, so he began his
Nanman campaign. The idea of the campaign was "to make the Nanman surrender
from their hearts." But Meng Huo was not ready to just roll over and pledge
allegiance to Shu. He decided to resist the Shu forces and began a war. In the
first encounter Meng Huo was captured through the efforts of Zhao Yun, Wei Yan
and many others. After which he was taken to the Shu camp and after a brief
talk was released with a guide to return to his own camp. His second capture
was due to him beating an officer named Dongtu Na. Causing him to rebel and
capture Meng Huo. Upon his second release, Meng Huo was given a tour of the Shu
camps and he returned to his own camp and ready to utilize his new data of the
camps. Then in the third encounter, Meng Huo tried to raid Zhuge Liang's camp,
in which he was surronded and captured. Again he was released, but not before
being scolded by the Shu generals. Then in the fourth capture, Meng Huo fell to
a ruse of pits, prepared before hand. For the 5th capture, Meng Huo hid in the
bald dragon ravine, which was guarded by 4 springs that were full of disease.
Some of the soldiers were then poisoned by it, and Zhuge Liang had to find a
cure. It was then that Meng Jie -Meng Huo's older brother- gave him the remedy
for the disease. It was then at a banquet set up by Yang Fang, that Meng Huo
and his companions were captured again. Again Meng Huo was released. Before the
sixth encounter, Zhu Rong took to the battlefield and captured two generals of
Zhuge Liang's. They were Zhang Ni and Ma Zheng. Then Zhuge Liang prepared
counter measures to retrieve his generals. He told Wei Yan and Zhao Yun to lead
her into a narrow road where Ma Dai had set up an ambush and then they captured
her. She was then exchanged for Zhuge Liang's two generals. Then in the sixth
battle, King Mu Lu took on Shu. He used many animals to destroy Zhao Yun and
Wei Yan's units in the first skirmish. Then in his counter attack, Zhuge Liang
unleashed his fire breathing contraptions. It was not stated if they were the
juggernauts or not, but they could be. Effectively killing King Mu Lu. Then
Meng Huo tried to use a ploy by allowing himself to be captured by Chief Dai
Lai. However, Zhuge Liang knew of it, and captured all of Meng Huo's clan.
However, Meng Huo was released one more time. Now Meng Huo was furious, so he
sent an envoy to enlist the help of Wutu Gu. The king of the Wuguo tribe. He
brought with him a rattan armour wearing army of 30 000. It was then that Zhuge
Liang told Wei Yan that he would have to be defeated 15 times and give up 7
camps for his plan to work. Now it was the 7th battle and the Nanman troops
were of high morale. It was then that they were lead into a barren valley, full
of mines that set the rattan army on fire. Effectively wiping out the Wugou
tribe. Then Meng Huo went to check on the armies and it was there that he was
captured for his 7th and final time. It was in his camp, that Zhuge Liang was
lamenting on his fire attack, and Meng Huo was touched deeply by that act, and
finally surrendered to Shu. Then Zhuge Liang restored all of the land back to
the Nanman, and left the Nanman in charge. It was then said that Meng Huo
defended the Nanman country for a long time, I think up until his death.

III. Pros and Cons of Meng Huo

Pros
-Huge powerhouse
-True musou can use orb affect on every hit, if you have lvl 10/11 or 10/60 sec
musou
-C6 can cover enemies from the back
-He is the king of an entire culture, always fun to be that kind of figurehead

Cons
-Slow attack start up
-Just plain SLOW, always use saddle or speed scroll
-C5 is very hard to connect
-Only 4 item slots

Those are the only ones that stand out to me. Like always, take into account
the slow start up for your attacks so always start a little earlier than you
normally would. Kind of treat him like Xu Zhu. If you have to run, spam the C1.
----------------------------------------------------------

IV. Moveset

Key:
S: Square
T: Triangle

T (C1): A 4-legged running attack, pressing T a few more times seems to prolong
the running a bit. The last dash will have the orb element.

S,T (C2): One hit, and then a kind of uppercut with two hands. Slow and waste
of time. Don't try this often. Uppercut has orb element.

S,S,T (T,T,T) (C3): 2 hits followed by a spinning punch. The number of T's
pressed determines the number of spinning punches, maxing out to a six hit
combo. Last spinning punch has orb element.

S,S,S,T (C4): 3 hits followed by a massive belly flop, it sends people flying.
Don't use it often as the start up and recovery time are horrible. The belly
flop has orb element.

S,S,S,S,T (T) (C5): 4 hits followed by a big bear hug grabbing motion, then he
headbutts them twice, the second one launching them in the air. If you pressed
T twice, after the headbutts, Meng Huo will follow up with a big 2 handed slam.
The 2 handed slam contains the orb element. It's very slow.

S,S,S,S,S,T (C6): 5 hits followed by a big earthquake caused by Meng Huo
slamming his fist into the ground. Similar to his musou. The earthquake has the
orb element.

S,S,S,S,S,S: Left-right swing, right-left swing, double handed uppercut,
backhand slap with his left hand, bear hug motion with both hands, and the last
his is a spinning double handed punch. It's not to bad, good power.

Musou: Lots of earthquakes, followed by a big earthquake. The last one seems to
have more range.

True Musou: Just like his musou but with extra hit at the end. If you have lvl
10/11 weapon or unlimited musou, this can be very deadly with a vorpal orb.

Horse attacks

S (S,S,S,S,S): Left-right standard swings.

T: Launches his gauntlets forward, like projectiles.

Musou: Standard special left-right swings.

Jump attacks

S: A small belly flop, and he bounces back to his feet.

T: A big belly flop with a big earthquake. Funny to watch. Painful to watch.

Dash attack: A falling belly flop from the ground. He gets up by himself. It
stuns whoever is hit.
----------------------------------------------------------

V. Outfits

Outfit 1: Standard DW4 costume. He's in dark brown fur with something like a
crown on his head.
Outfit 2: Similar to 1, with different colours.
Outfit 3: Same brown fur but the crown is now a helmet with horns on the side.
Outfit 4: Similar to 3, with different colours.
Outfit 5: His original DW3 costume. He's got longer hair and a less extravagant
fur robe. Kinda like a caveman.
Outfit 6: Similar to 5, with different colours.

VII. Good items for Meng Huo

Legend/Musou/Free mode

Meng Huo only has 4 item slots so choose carefully. I'll usually go with these:

Red Hare Saddle
Vorpal Orb
Peacock Urn (Lots of health = lots of playing)
Tiger Amulet (More attack = more kills)
Tortoise Amulet (More defense = no flinching)
Speed Scroll/Way of Musou/whatever you want

The last item I frequently change. If you have a saddle, don't use a speed
scroll. If you don't have lvl 10/11 weapons, don't use Way of Musou. Secret of
Orbs may also be good to put on for your 4th item.

Xtreme Mode

Red Hare Saddle
Vorpal Orb
Peacock Urn
Tiger Amulet
Tortoise Amulet
Way of Musou

These are the ones I always use. I have Way of Musou on there because in Xtreme
Mode, I find that there are lots of 10 sec. unlimited musou's, this gives you
orb elements in your true musou, but you can change it if you want.
----------------------------------------------------------

VIII. DW4: XL easy leveling up

For attack and weapon experience, Xiao Qiao's Legend Stage:
On Normal 8 generals that drop attack +4, then Xiahou Yuan who drops another
attack +4, In total that is +36 attack at the end of the level.
On normal 9 generals times 409 exp. plus 5 times 818 exp. (Cao Cao) In total
that is 3681+4090 = 7771 exp (not counting juggles)
On Hard its 9 times 8 = attack + 72

For defense, the best legend would be Dong Zhuo's Legend Stage:
On normal, it's 6 Eunichs times defense +2 = defense +12. Also add in Yuan Shao
with a defense +4 (If its a duel, its defense +8) the grand total of defense on
normal is then 16 or 20
On hard the grand total is 24+8 = 32 defense
On Hard the weapon exp is a total of about 16 000 (this is not counting combos
that are 8+)
