4. The Main Menu

At The Main Menu you have four options Championship Mode, Exhibition Mode,
Training Mode and Options

4.1 Championship Mode

In Championship Mode You have to play through a volleyball tournament and TRY
to win the prize money
Heres how Championship Mode Works
First you select how you want to play - Friends Or Normal
Then You Select what controller is playing or which two are playing if you have
a multitap in
Then You Select Your Characters
Then The Game starts to load your first match, the loading screen shows Who you
are,who your partner is,who your oppenants are
and what court you are playing on
Then You Play Through The Game Of Volleyball until one team gets 10 points and
who gets 10 points wins the set and In
Championship you play one Set,So the first to 10 wins
Once You Get 10 You Go Onto The Next match,If You Lose You Get The Chance To
Try Again Or Quit
Once You beat the last match(Stage 5) you see the credits and during the
credits you see that characters ending
After The Credits You See Your Stats for The Championship and your Rank,I think
the stats are How Many Continues You
Use,How Many Points You Get,How many times you are scored against.Your rank
depends on these stats the highest I have Got
is a S and the lowest was a C

4.2 Exhibition Mode

Exhibition mode Starts just the same as Championship but you got play with 4
players....So this is how it starts
First You Select either Normal Mode Or Friends Mode
Then you select how many players
then you select team type (1p & 1p V 2p & 2p)(1p & 3p V 2p & 4p)(Push Circle To
Change Sides)
then you select who is controlling player1,2,3,4
then you select the characters(Push Circle For Alternate Costumes)
Then you select what court
then you select how many sets, how much to win a set,Computer Abilty,Kids Mode
and Game Speed
Then click start game and your match starts
Once the match is over you get asked "Try Again" if you say No you go to Main
Menu and If you say yes you go back to
the start of Exhibition Mode

4.3 Training Mode
During Training Mode Klonoa Describes to you the techniques of the game and how
to do them like
Lesson 1: Lets Practise Serving!
The idea of this lesson is to show you how to serve properly....

The Challenge:You must serve 3 successful Serves without failing 5 times
Easy enough just push Square to throw the ball up and when it reaches the top
of the screen or the highest height that
person can throw up to push square again to get a successful serve

Lesson 2:Lets Try Aiming The Ball!
The Idea of this lesson is to teach you how to aim your serves

The Challenge:You must serve it into the green circle 5 times,You get 5 fails
Pretty Easy just like if the circle is on the top row in the middle hold UP
while serving,If in the bottom row and in the
middle push DOWN,If the dead centre just serve normally and like that so like
if its in the top right corner you push up
and right while serving, same with all other directions

Lesson 3:Lets Receive The Ball!
I failed this Lesson Twice when I first tried,so dont be ashamed if you fail

The Challenge:You must receive the ball 5 times and if you fail 5 times you
have to start this lesson over again
To receive the ball push X where the green X is on your screen,Pretty Hard
since the computer can be unpredictable I have
nothing to say about this one I can do it now but thats from practise nothing
else.

Lesson 4:Set Up An Attack!
The idea of this lesson is to teach you how to do attacks. An attack is Where
you toss(X) the ball the somebody and they use an
attack(Square) on the ball into enemy grounds.

The Challenge:You must do 3 attack to clear the lesson,to fail you must fail 5
times
This lesson is moderate not hard but not exactly easy either, first you have to
receive the ball then you must toss the ball
to your team-mate and you can decide either to toss it back to the first player
or go for the attck themselve you just have
to do that 3 times and you clear the lesson

Lesson 5:The Super Attack
Fairly Easy But First you have To GET your super panel to yellow and to get it
yellow you have to make a straight line, like
when you hit the enemy's area one of your super panel areas light up,infact the
same place that your ball landed

The Challenge:First you must get your straight line to make your super
attack, you just have to do a X,X,Square into the
bottom right corner and you have your line, then you have to pull of a super
attack which is X,X,Circle. You only have to do
1 super attack with 5 fails at your sideonce you do that you have finshed
Training mode!!!!

5. The Characters

The Characters are spilt up into four types Power(Great at attacking and
Serving but slow and not very good receivers),
Speed(Speedy,Good Receivers but lack power),Balance(A character that doesent
really sway to stat) and Technique.(Good at
Blocking and Feinting but verd hard to handle)Also all bios are from the Klonoa
Beach Volleyball Manual

Klonoa
Type : Power
Super: Tornado Attack - When the ball hits the ground a tornado sucks the other
team into the sky
Stats: Attack - 3/4, Block - 2/4, Feint - 1.5/4, Receive - 1.5/4, Speed - 2/4,
Difficult - 2/4
Bios: "Klonoa is a high-spirited character - a bit of a tearaway really. When
you play as him, let someone else worry about
defending and just concentrate on attacking! You might be surprised at his
attacking power!"
My Thoughts: A player that has power and speed!!!Good even though stats are
lower than Super Garlen

Popka
Type: Speed
Super: Voice Cracker - when the ball hits the ground, a loud scream happens and
then all this wind pushes youur enemies
into the net
Stats: Attack - 2/4, Block - .5/4, Feint - 1.5/4, Receive - 1/4, Speed - 4/4,
Difficult - 1/4
Bios: "Popka may be small, but he's really big on attitude, and he's a close
friend of Lolo's.Use his speed to your advantage.
His nippy ball-handling will help you set up attacks"
My Thoughts: A bit too fast and his defensive skills aint high enough......

Lolo
Type: Balance
Super:Lovely Attack - As the ball hits the ground hearts come out and charm the
other team and they will float up into the
sky
Stats: Attack - 1/4, Block - 3.5/4, Feint - 1/4, Receive - 4/4, Speed - 2/4,
Difficult - 1/4
Bios: "Lolo is a slightly clumsy but courageous trainee priestess. She hasn't
got a great deal of physical strength, but she's
a good solid defender and excellent ally!"
My Thoughts: Another person for beginners, good as a partner in you have a
power character like Nahatomb

Joka
Type: Technique
Super: Chaotic Dance - Once the ball hits the ground some colors come out of
the ground and make the other team dance!
Stats: Attack - 2.5/4, Block - 3/4, Feint - 4/4, Receive - .5/4, Speed - 2/4,
Difficult - 4/4
Bios: "A Sneaky trickster, Joka roams wherever he likes, always on the look out
for someone he can make a fool of.He's
difficult to handle, but a very able player"
My Thoughts: The Hardest person to use?Not really the only thing he is lacking
is recieve which aint really too useful just
shows how hard he can hit it off a recieve I think

Chipple
Type: Power
Super : Spinning Punch - Chipple comes onto the other teams side and does a K.O
Punch on them
Stats: Attack - 3.5/4, Block - 1/4, Feint - 1/4, Receive - .5/4, Speed - 1/4,
Difficult - 3/4
Bios: "A boy boxer who idolises Klonoa, Chipple is not exactly fast on his
feet, but what he lacks in speed he makes up in
power! He's strong enough to turn the game around at a stroke."
My Thoughts: If you are going to beat it with him have your best person as
player two........His stats sway WAAAAAAAAAY too
far towards power and thats one reason why I dont like him

Tat
Type: Speed
Super:Super Tat Robot Press - A giant robot Tat appears out of the sky and
squashes the enemy team
Stats: Attack - .5/4, Block - 2.5/4, Feint - 2.5/4, Receive - 3/4, Speed - 3/4,
Difficult - 1/4
Bios: "Tat is Leorina's cheeky sidekick. She's an expert at picking up those
hard to reach shots so why not let her handle
the defence?"
My Thoughts:My Fav Character(This is gonna be a bit bias), Well  I think he's
great a real good person for beginners
plus speedy, good at receiving but lacking power

Heart Moo
Type: Balance
Super: Moo Moo March - Turns enemy team into Moo's who run off confused
Stats: Attack - 2/4, Block - 1.5/4, Feint - 3/4, Receive - 2.5/4, Speed - 3/4,
Difficult - 1.5/4
Bios: "Meet the leader of those peculiar creatures, the Moos!He doesen't appear
to have a thought in his head, but maybe
he's not as dumb as he looks."
My Thoughts: This Characters is kinda for beginners, his stats are pretty
spread out for a balance character

Leorina
Type: Technique
Super: Dark Thunder - When the ball hits the ground lightning comes off it and
fries the other team
Stats: Attack - .5/4, Block - 4/4, Feint - 3.5/4, Receive - 1.5/4, Speed -
1.5/4, Difficult - 3/4
Bios: "When sky pirate Leorina takes aim at something, you can be sure she
won't miss! With her outstanding blocking and
feinting, there's no dead ground close to the net!"
My Thoughts: Even though is is slow and weak her blocking is great....

Guntz(Secret Character)

Super: Death God Fire - Uses his gun to fire at the ball and when it hits the
ground lots of bullets hit the ground also

Difficult - 3.5/4
Bios: "Guntz is a bounty hunter. not speedy, but very powerful. He can mount
formidable attacks with his double-barrelled

0.5/4, Difficult - 3/4,
Bios: "Nahatomb is Garlen Resorts' esteemed Head of Conventions. As he clumps
around, he certainlt looks as if he packs a
powerful punch"
My Thoughts:He is waaaaaaaaaaaaay too slow,he is pretty tough though but at his
slow speed it aint worth it

Super: Garlen Bomber(See above)
Stats: Attack - 3.5/4, Block - 3.5/4, Feint - 3.5/4, Receive - 3.5/4, Speed -
2.5/4, Difficult - 3.5/4
Bios: A super version of Garlen,During Garlen's ending you will see why Garlen
made this
My Thoughts: Great - Another over-powered character, As you would think he is a
bit cheap and thats why I personally don't
use him that much

6. Courts

Happy beach
The classic court of beach volley. You play beach volley on a court on a beach
with some crabs crawling around. There are also some posters around the court
that say "beach volleyball tournament".

Windy court
A court on the grass with some windmills on the background. The windmills are
all spinning so it must be very
windy out there! This background you see often in Klonoa games. This court is
being used in training mode.

Jungle court
A court made of wood. It lays in the middle of a river in the jungle! When you
knock the ball to far away, it
will land in the water. There are a lot of trees and also some butterflies and
birds flying around.

Sunset court
Another court on the beach, but when it's morning and the sun comes up, a
beautifull time to play volleyball.
There is a wreck of a ship laying there and there are a lot of stange creatures
that come peaking and then just disapear. On this court you play against Guntz
and Garlen in championship.

Nahatomb palace
This is a court in the palace of Nahatomb, the general of Garlen resorts. You
see his trone in the
background and some ghots wandering around. There are all kinds of lights and
golden stuff, so it must be very expensive!
Here you play the grand final of championship mode.

Christmas court
A court only being used the time of christmas. With tons of snow and snowmen
around there. So it's a cold
place for playing volleyball.
Unlocked: Beat Championship Mode With 2 different people

Highland court
On the top of a mountain lays this court! It's just a bunch of stones and
cactusses around there, with a lot of clouds and
wind. When the ball goes to far, it will fall down.
Unlocked: Beat Championship Mode with 8 different people

7. Volleyballs

Moo ball
The standard ball, made of a yellow moo. Just nothing special to it. This ball
is being used in the tournament in the game.

Sasamy ball
A very big green ball. It's a lightweight ball, and it's easy to use because
it's very big. You can compare this one with a
very big ball filled with air.

Boomie ball
This is a brown ball and every time you hit this ball it becomes bigger, and
after a short amount of time, the ball will
explode and the team where the ball exploded will lose the point.

Burnie ball
A purple ball, it's the same as a moo ball except that it makes a funny sound,
that's all.

Gribz ball
A small, heavyweight ball. The opposite of the sasamy ball. The ball is black
and he is to heavy to knock it far away, so
you can only punch him right over the net.
