[01]    Introduction:
This is an FAQ for the Olympic Mode in SNK vs. Capcom: Match of the Millennium (from here on
referred to as SNKvC) for the NeoGeo Pocket Color.
In it, you will find information on the events that you can partake in in the Olympic Mode.
Note - Japanese character names are used in this FAQ.

[02]    Team Choice:
In SNKvC you get to choose whether you want to play in the Olympics as SNK or Capcom
characters. Depending on which team you choose, there will be exclusive events that only that
team can play in.
See section [03] for information about those events.

[->]    SNK:
If you choose to play as the SNK Team, your motivator will be Rimururu from the Samurai
Spirits/Showdown series.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
[->]    Capcom:
If you choose to play as the Capcom Team, your motivator will be Karin Kanzuki from Street
Fighter Alpha/Zero 3.

[03]    Team-specific Challenges:
These are events that only their respective Teams can participate in.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
[->]    SNK:
The SNK Team has two (2) exclusive events.  They are Target9 and Blade Arts.
Read below for information on both of these events.

[1.]    Target9:
       Buttons:
       ·A     - Shoot
       ·B     - Reload
       ·D-Pad - Move crosshairs

Play as Marco* from the Metal Slug series.  The object of this event is to shoot down the
alien spaceships.  After the ships move around a couple times, they'll shoot at you.

       There are two (2) types of alien spaceships in this event:
       ·Grey - Normal ships
       ·Pink - When shot, these ships reveal life powerups.

       Scoring is as follows:
       ·Spaceship - 100pt/spaceship (VS pts determined by spaceships hit)

       *To play as Fio - press Option before the "READY" sign comes up.

[2.]    Blade Arts:
       Buttons:
       ·A     - Slash right
       ·B     - Slash left
       ·D-Pad - Move left or right, and up

Play as Jubei Yagyu from the Samurai Spirits/Showdown series.  The object of this event
is to slash as many straw dolls as you can.  The dolls come in three colors:

       Scoring is as follows:
       ·Yellow - Slowest moving doll - 300pts (VS pts determined by dolls hit)
       ·Green - Medium speed moving doll - 600pts (VS pts determined by dolls hit)
       ·Red - Fastest moving doll - 1200pts (VS pts determined by dolls hit)
       ·If you slash five dolls in a row, you will get 1500 bonus points added to your score.

The Capcom Team also has two (2) exclusive events.  They are Ghost Trick and Cat Walk.
Read below for information on both of these events.

[1.]    Ghost Trick:
       Buttons:
       ·A     - Jump Right
       ·B     - Jump Left
       ·D-Pad - Note used

Play as Arthur from the Ghosts 'n' Goblins game series.  The object of this event is to
collect as dollar bags and treasure chests without getting hit by the flying demons
while jumping.  After some time ellapses, more demons will come out.

       Scoring is as follows:
       ·Dollar Bag - 1700pts (17Vs. pts)
       ·Jump - 500pts (5Vs. pts)
       ·Treasure Chest - 5000pts (50Vs. pts)

[2.]    Cat Walk:
       Buttons:
       ·A     - Hand/Paw
       ·B     - Leg
       ·D-Pad - Up, Down, Left, Right

Play as Felicia from the Vampire/Darkstalker series in this music game.  The object of
this event is to do the beats simultaneously to the music as they appear on the screen.
The more beats you get in order without missing, the more points you get.
Choose to dance to the following characters BGMs:

               00.56 Minutes - Level I
       ·Dan
               00.50 Minutes - Level II
       ·Akari
               00.59 Minutes - Level III

These are events that both the SNK and Capcom Teams can participate in.

[->]    Survival:
See how many characters you can beat with one life bar!
If you're playing as an SNK character, you will fight Capcom characters, and vice-versa.
The maximum number of characters you can beat is one hundred (100).

[->]    Time Attack:
See how quickly you can defeat five (5) characters!
If you're playing as an SNK character, you will fight Capcom characters, and vice-versa.
Tip: At the Character Select Screen, look in the lower right-hand corner to see who your
first opponent will be.

Some teams are easier to beat than others:

·If you're a Capcom character - choose the team starting with Mai Shiranui.
·If you're an SNK character - choose the team starting with Sakura Kasugano.

[->]    First Blast:
Attack your opponent before they attack you!
If you're playing as an SNK character, you will fight Capcom characters, and vice-versa.
You will get more points the quicker you defeat your opponent.  You can also get more
points by defeating them with supers/DMs.  You face ten (10) opponents in this event.

Master Skills are Level 2 supers (or in Counter Mode - SDMs) that you can obtain from
getting Vs. points in events.  They range in price from a few thousand, to the highest
amount you can obtain, 9999, Vs. points.

       Legend:

       QCB    - Quarter Circle Backwards
       QCF    - Quarter Circle Forwards
       HCB    - Half Circle Backwards
       HCF    - Half Circle Forward
       Charge - Hold the directional pad in that direction for a second
       A      - A button
       B      - B button
       x2     - The motion (QCF,QCB, etc.) done twice
       In Air - Do the motion while jumping
       BA     - Backwards
       FD     - Forwards
       D      - Down
       U      - Up
       DBA    - Down-Backwards
       DFD    - Down-Forwards

Terry dashes at the opponent with his fist.  If he connects, he'll uppercut them into the air
(with a powerdunk type move), then meets them at the ground with a high geyser.

               182 Ways (4500 Vs. pts) "WILD COMBO BLOW!"
               QCFx2+B
Strikes towards the opponent with a flaming fist, then does a powerful standing uppercut.
Note: Can be charged by holding B.

               Flame Sword (4000 Vs. pts) "FLAME SWORD SLICE!"

Athena turns in to her Psycho Soldier form and brings down a gigantic fire sword that burns
the opponent.

       ·Iori Yagami
               Blast Talons (4000 Vs. pts) "DEMON BLAZE END!"

Jumps towards the opponent with a trail of crimson flame flowing from his hand, when he
connects he slams the opponent to the ground and takes them for a ride on a spinning uppercut.

               Irska Yarmsi (6000 Vs. pts) "MAMAHAHA RAGE DIP!"

She starts flashing blue while holding an orb type thing in her hands.  Shortly after, her
bird, Mamahaha, flies at the opponent five (5) times, and ends with an explosion on the last
hit.

               Heaven Bam! (5000 Vs. pts) "WILD JUMP SLICE!"

An uppercut, into a tornado that lifts the opponent up, then Haohmaru jumps up and smashes
them down to the ground with his sword.

       ·Leona Heidern
               Happy Death (6000 Vs. pts) "SUCK ENEMY ENERGY!"
               QCFx2+B
Jumps at the opponent, flips over their head, and then sucks their energy from them while
smoke appears all around Leona.

       ·Ryo Sakazaki
               Heaven Blast (2500 Vs. pts) "RAGING HOLY BLOW!"

A straight standing forward punch.  When/if it hits, it will dizzy the opponent.

       ·Yuri Sakazaki
               New Yuri Bop (5800 Vs. pts) "EVO-SUPER UPPER!"

A super uppercut like Ryu's Shin Shoryuken.

       ·Orochi Iori

Same as Iori's, but the uppercut in this one starts hitting towards the end.

She runs full screen then does a ten (10) hit combo that ends with her having a yin-yang
appear behind her while she jumps in the air.

Geese's infamous combo that ends with his palms stretched out with a projectile.

a jumping high-kick frame and some Japanese kanji appears around her and the opponent.  It
ends with lights flashing all around.

               Crossfire Blitz (4500 Vs. pts) "NASH'S LEGACY!"
               Charge BA, FD BA FD+A
A big chain combo which ends with an uppercut into the air, and then Guile finishes them off
with a falling backbreaker.

       ·Ryu
               Shin Shoryuken (6000 Vs. pts) "SUPER UPPERCUT!"
               QCFx2+B
Super uppercut.  Ryu does an elbow dash towards the opponent, if it connects he will proceed
to hit them with a very powerful three (3) hit uppercut.

       ·Sakura Kasugano
               Shun Goku Satsu (5500 Vs. pts) "STOLEN AKUMA MOVE!"
               Charge BA, FD BA FD+A
She stole Gouki's signature super! =]

       ·Ken Masters
               Shippu Jinrai Kyaku (4000 Vs. pts) "KICK DASH ASSAULT!"

A flurry of kicks into a diagonal hurricane kick, into a downwards kick.

       ·Morrigan Aensland
               Cryptic Needle (2500 Vs. pts) "INFINITE IMPALER!"

Shoots a claw (looks kinda like a lobster claw) across the screen.  If it connects, it will
hold the opponent and then shoot rays of light out.

       ·Zangief
               Russian Beat (4500 Vs. pts) "LINK COSSACK KICK!"
               QCBx2+B
Zangief does that Russian dance (you know, crossed arms, alternating legs kicking, then he
does a standing roundhouse which launches, then a headbutt that knocks the opponent to the
ground.

       ·Felicia
               ES Rolling Scratch (3000 Vs. pts) "SPINNING TALONS!"
               QCFx2+B
A super (ES in Vampire games) version of her Rolling Scratch.

       ·Dan Hibiki
               Otoko Michi (8000 Vs. pts) "RESOLUTE KAMIKAZE!"
               Charge BA, FD BA FD+A
Watch out for this suicidal Dan!  Kinda like a Shun Goku Satsu.  Dan is left with a sliver of
life, while it only takes about one-third of the opponent's life off.

               Kongou Kokuretsuzan (9999 Vs. pts) "EARTHQUAKE PUNCH!"
               DBA, QCB, DFD+A
This is his new Street Fighter 3 super where he slams the ground and a column of electricty
strikes up.

       ·Evil Ryu
               RK Hadoken (8000 Vs. pts) "REAL RAGE WAVE!"
               QCBx2+A
Versus series style beam hadoken.  Very powerful.

       ·Bulleta
               Doll & Bomb (6500 Vs. pts) "EXPLODING DOLL!"
               QCBx2+A
Bulleta drops a doll out of her dress that slides across the screen.  Hold the A button until
it's next to your opponent, then BAM!

       ·Vega
               Psycho Field (9999 Vs. pts) "PSYCHO BLAST WALL!"
               QCBx2+A
Marvel vs. Capcom 2 super where he summons a ball of psycho energy, once it gets to the middle
of the screen, it grows larger and stays there for a minute.  If it hits, it will dizzy the
opponent.

[07]    Talk:
This is a (pointless) mode where you get to talk to your motivator, Rimururu or Karin,
respectively.  There's nothing to do in it really, but I guess it's a neat little thing that
SNK added.  They're known to have pretty cool extra modes in games (Art Gallery,  Color Edit,
Movie Gallery, etc.).
