2. STORY
=====================================================================

This section is extracted from the game manual.

November 16, 2001
On a peaceful morning filled with the chirps of cheery birds, I was
reading the morning paper and doing a little nose-cleaning. "Wh-wh-
what!?" I exclaimed in surprise. I was so surprised by one article in
the paper, I accidentally jammed my finger straight up my nose!
"Aaargh! I think I just poked my brain!" Anyway, enough 'bout that.
The headline of the article said that a legendary pyramid had been
discovered. Hmmmmm... When I read the article, I learned that the
ruins held the buried pyramid where the princess Shokora, who once
ruled this area, had been put into a cursed sleep by the arrogant,
selfish, money-crazed Golden Diva. "Do I smell treasure again?" I
thought. "Heh, heh, hehhhh!" As the wicked laugh floated through my
mind, I was already thinking about the money and nothing else!
Forgetting even to take my mid-morning nap, I hopped into my
fantastic Wario car and headed for the Golden Pyramid. "All that
treasure for me! Guhahaha!"

3. WARIO'S MOVES
=====================================================================

JUMP: A button

CHARGE ATTACK: B button

GRAB/THROW: stun an enemy by jumping on it, then touch it to pick it
up. Now, press B to throw the enemy, or hold B to gather strength and
release for a power throw. Press Up on the D-Pad to throw enemies up
into the air. You can also pick up and throw stones. Remember that
bigger enemies are also heavier, so they may slow you down if you run
or jump when holding them.

SWIM: D-Pad. Press B to swim faster. Press A to head-butt enemies.

ROLL: when on a slope, press Down to start rolling. When rolling,
you're invincible, and you can break blocks and also jump for short
distances. If you hit a wall, you'll stop rolling immediately.

JUMP ATTACK: press B, then press A as you're performing the Charge
attack.

DASH ATTACK: hold L or R, then start running in any direction. After
he's gathered some speed, Wario will be fast enough to break hard
blocks.

SMASH ATTACK: jump and hold Down to stomp the ground and to destroy
blockms and enemies below you.

SUPER SMASH ATTACK: if you fall from a high place, the Smash Attack
will be much more powerful.

STOMP JUMP: press A while stomping on an enemy to bounce higher.

CROUCHING JUMP: hold Down and press A to jump. This is useful when
you want to access very narrow passages.

CROUCHING SLIDE: press Down while charge-attacking to slide.

4. COLLECTIBLES
=====================================================================

- Small Coin: very tiny, and pale-blue in color. Each one of these is
 worth 10 coins.

- Bronze Coin: larger, and red in color. It's worth 50 coins.

- Silver Coin: worth 100 coins.

- Gold Coin: huge and very rare, it adds 500 coins to your total.

- Blue Crystal: 10 more coins for you.

- Red Crystal: adds 100 coins to your total.

- Diamond: found in many places and in all bonus rooms. It's worth a
 whopping 1,000 coins.

- Jewel Pieces: there are 4 of them in every level you'll visit.
 You'll find them inside golden boxes. If you can find all 4, you'll
 complete a Jewel that will contribute to open the Boss door.

- Keyzer: you need this to open the door to the next level.

- CD: the most secret, best-hidden item you can find in a level. CDs
 are contained inside metal boxes, and there are 16 of them in the
 game. Every level but the first one and the final level has a CD
 hidden somewhere.

- Heart Medal: also contained in a metal box, a Heart Medal will
 fully replenish your Heart Meter.

5. WARIO THE MULTI-FORMER
=====================================================================

During his adventure, Wario will be subject to many different
transformations that will allow him to perform special actions and
reach secret areas.

FAT WARIO
In some levels, Wario will encounter a kind of big, brown monkey.
Such monkeys will throw apples at Wario when they see him. If Wario
eats the apple, he'll turn into Fat Wario. Fat Wario walks very
slowly and has reduced jumping capability, but he's able to kill
enemies with a single touch. When he lands after a jump he'll shake
the ground, and he's able to break very hard blocks, and groups of
blocks, with a simple jump. To make this transformation wear off,
Wario has to walk for a while.

PUFFY WARIO
When stung by certain enemies (mostly Beezleys), Wario inflates and
becomes Puffy Wario. In this state, he can't attack, and he'll just
fly higher and higher until he hits a ceiling. Press B to rise
quickly. Puffy Wario can reach very high places.

VAMPIRE BAT WARIO
Wario will turn into a vampire bat when he's hit by... well, by a
vampire bat, of course! As a bat, repeatedly press A to flap your
wings and gain height. In this form, Wario can reach high places
whith a precision of control that Puffy Wario clearly lacks. However,
vampire Bat Wario will revert to regular Wario if he comes in contact
with a light of any kind, especially candle light.

FLAT WARIO
Very rare and very difficult to control, this transformation occurs
when Wario is flattened by something very heavy. He can jump, but
every time he leaves the ground, he'll float like a sheet of paper.
However, being so flat and able to float, he can enter very narrow
passages and float past pits.

BOUNCY WARIO
In some levels you'll find the Hammer guys, strange creatures armed
with a big hammer. When they hit Wario, they'll turn his legs into a
spring that'll allow Wario to make incredibly high jumps - in fact,
the only thing that can stop his jumps are concrete ceilings. Bouncy
Wario can break entire columns of blocks with a single jump, and get
to very high zones.

ZOMBIE WARIO
Some living dead can turn Wario into a zombie. In this state, Wario
is very slow and can't attack, but enemies will die if they touch
him. Moreover, he's very squashy, and if he jumps on thin platforms
he'll fall right through them until he hits solid ground, thus being
able to reach many secret areas. Zombie Wario will revert to normal
Wario if he touches light or water.

SNOWMAN WARIO
If hit by a snowball, Wario will turn into Snowman Wario. If Snowman
Wario does as much as touching a slope, he'll start rolling in the
opposite direction, and he'll keep rolling until he hits a wall.
While rolling, he can destroy certain blocks, some of which can't be
destroyed in any other way.

BUBBLE WARIO
When swimming underwater, Wario may get trapped into a bubble. When
this happens, he can't move and will be transported by the bubble to
the surface of the water - at that point, the bubble will explode and
release its prisoner. Bubbles are more a nuisance than everything
else, but they can't be affected by water currents, so they can help
Wario get to areas he normally couldn't.

FLAMING WARIO
Certain kinds of flames can start a fire on Wario's overalls. He'll
start running like crazy, and will be more and more enveloped by
flames whenever he touches an obstacle. He won't stop running until
he's hit three walls - at that point, he'll be totally engulfed in
flames that will extinguish soon thereafter. However, when completely
on fire Wario can destroy peculiar blocks, those with a flame drawn
over them. And of course, fire will be extinguished by water.

FROZEN WARIO
Yetis can freeze Wario with their cold, cold breath. If frozen, Wario
can't do a thing, and he'll just slide in the opposite direction
until he hits a wall and the ice is destroyed. This can be useful
when you want to slide past spikes, enemies, etc.

6. MANY THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW
=====================================================================

The Pyramid consists of 6 Passages. When the adventure begins, you'll
have to complete the Entry Passage. After that, you'll be able to
choose between 4 other passages: Emerald Passage, Ruby Passage,
Sapphire Passage, and Topaz Passage. These Passages can be played in
the order you like. When you've defeated the Boss of every passage,
you'll gain access to the final Passage, the Golden Pyramid.

At the beginning of each level, you have 4 Hearts. If you lose all
your hearts, you'll be sent back to the Stage Select screen, and
you'll lose everything you had collected in the level.

There is a Heart Gauge right below your Heart Meter. Every time you
kill an enemy, it'll leave a little heart behind. Little hearts add
to your Heart Gauge. When your Heart Gauge is full, you'll gain a
Heart.

Enemies that can transform you into something special CAN be killed,
but they won't leave any money or little hearts behind. I call these
"Support enemies". They include monkeys, Beezleys, Hammer guys,
Indians, flying ghosts, bats, and Torchmen, plus any other I can't
remember at the moment.

There are two types of enemies that will change in color if you stomp
the ground near them. They are the balloon guys and the Spear-Masks,
both of which can be encountered in the very first level. They'll
leave much more money if you kill them when they're red.

Whenever you're hit, you'll lose a number of coins related to the
power of the hit. You can still get those coins back, but if they
disappear, they're lost.

There are MANY walls and floors that can be broken, so try charging
every wall you see and stomping every suspect floor. You may found
many more secret passages that you can possibly imagine.

Some blocks can only be broken by a special Wario.

Every level except for the first and the final one have two bonus
rooms somewhere. Bonus rooms are accessed through violet pipes, and
each one has a diamond for you - if you can find a way to get it, of
course!

In every level you'll find 4 Jewel Pieces. Jewels are the keys needed
to open the door leading to the Boss of the passage. So, if you don't
collect all Jewels, you won't be able to fight the Boss.

You'll also find a Keyzer in every level you'll visit. If you have
the Keyzer when you exit a level through the vortex, it will open the
door to the next level. This means that you can't go any further
through a passage if you leave the Keyzer behind.

A couple of things about money. First, every box containing a special
item (Jewel Piece, CD, or Heart Medal) also contains a Gold Coin.
Even when you've collected all the treasures, you can still replay
the level and find the Gold Coins inside the boxes.
Second, enemies will leave more money behind if you kill them when
your Heart Meter is full.

Every level has a switch somewhere. When you press the switch, a
countdown will start, and you'll have to return to the beginning of
the level and enter the vortex. If time runs out, you'll start losing
your coins, 10 at a time. If you run out of money, you'll die.

When you succesfully complete a level, you'll get 100 more coins for
every Heart you have. If you get more than 10,000 coins in a level,
you'll be awarded a Gold Crown. If you score between 8,000 and 9,999,
you'll get a Silver Crown. Score between 6,000 and 7,999 and you'll
get a Bronze Crown. You'll get no prize if you collected less than
6,000 coins.

At the end of each passage, just before the Boss' room, there is a
Mini-Game Shop. Here you can play one of the three mini-games to gain
medals. Medals can be used in the Item Shop to buy items to help you
fight the boss.

Before fighting the Boss of a passage, you can visit the Item Shop.
It sells a variety of items that can be used against the Boss. You
can only buy one item before each Boss battle.

You have a limited amount of time to beat a Boss. Every Boss guards a
special treasure, plus 3 Treasure Chests. When time reaches 1:00, the
treasure chests will start disappearing. Since every treasure chest
you win goes into the final Boss room after you've defeated a Boss,
you'd better defeat the Bosses as quickly as possible! During the
final Boss battle, Treasure Chests will start disappearing when the
timer reaches 2:00. And of course, if time runs out, you'll die.

7. WALKTHROUGH

From the start, go up the platforms on the right, and into the
corridor at the top. Stand on the pipe and press Down to enter it. In
the room below, collect the crystals and kill the two monsters, then
enter the upside-down pipe. Head right.

Collect the crystals and get the first Jewel Piece from the box.
Continue down the hall and you'll come to a block. Use the charge to
break it, and break the following block with a jump attack.
In the next room, get the crystals and the second Jewel Piece. Moving
on, you'll come to blue blocks, which you'll have to smash with dash
attacks.

In the next corridor you'll find many blocks, one of which hides a
diamond. Move ahead and you'll come to a room with a stone. Grab the
stone and press B to charge up, then release to throw the stone and
break the small blocks. Go ahead, but don't climb the ladder yet -
instead, break the block on the right to find a secret room with a
heart medal in a box. Now, go climb the ladder.

Pick up the stone and charge, then throw it upwards to smash the
block. Climb up there and crawl into the passage. In the next
corridor you'll find the third Jewel Piece, then you'll have to
experiment the roll. When you're done, grab the Keyzer and go on.

A diamond is waiting in the next section, along with the final Jewel
Piece. Get 'em, then continue on to try the slam attack and the super
slam attack. You'll also find a diamond, and another if you break the
left wall before performing the super slam attack.
Pick up the stone and put it close to the steps, then press the
switch. Countdown is 1:00. Use the stone to break the blocks, and
crawl back to the vortex to end the level.

Being the first time you attempt the bonus games, they'll only cost
you 2,000 coins a game, rather than 5,000. Try them if you want.

For this first level, the Item Shop will only sell these items:

Apple Bomb       2 Medals
Blast Cannon     2
Vizorman         4
Bugle            6

Choose one if you want, then go fight the Boss.

Just hit it with regular attacks all the time. When it opens its
mouth, get behind it with jump attacks and hit him from behind. Watch
out for the Spikeheads.

Gotta love the music here! From the start, proceed right, collecting
crystals and smashing everything in your way. In the section with the
dotted "!" red blocks, you'll find the first Jewel Piece. You'll find
the second in the section immediately thereafter.

When you get to the passage obstructed by blocks, step on the first
small block, and jump to discover the main feature of this level -
fake walls! This one is cleverly hiding a diamond. Get it, then smash
the blocks for more coins.

The next group of blocks is hiding a door. Enter it and you'll be in
a cave. Climb the ladder to find the third Jewel Piece, then climb to
the top and enter the upside-down pipe.

BONUS ROOM
Meet the Professor. This guy can't be destroyed, but you can abuse
him in every conceivable way. Stun him, then throw him to the switch
to create a ladder, and reach the diamond on top.

Get back to the cave and drop down, collecting the crystals on the
way, then get out.

See those ascending crystals? They're a clue to find a secret
entrance to the next cave. Go through the wall to appear very close
to the box holding the final Jewel Piece - and there's a diamond to
collect, too. From the box, go down and collect all the crystals,
then go through the right wall to find the metal box that holds the
CD. Get it, then climb the platforms and move on.

Outside, you'll have your first encounter with the monkey. Monkeys
shoot apples that will turn Wario into Fat Wario. Go to the red "!"
switch and hit it. Climb the blocks and get the Keyzer, then go back
and become Fat Wario. See that slightly different chunk of ground?
Stomp on it and you'll drop to a cave below. Drop down the edge of
the platform to smash through the cave bottom and discover a secret
diamond, then collect the crystals and hit the green switch.

Get out and go slightly back to find two new green blocks. Use them
to reach the upside-down pipe above.

BONUS ROOM
Go to the top and grab the Professor. Throw it at the small blocks on
the right, then quickly go back down to get him before he falls into
the water. Now use him to break the small blocks on the left, and do
a crouching jump from the platform above to get into the passage and
collect the diamond. Get out.

Go ahead. You'll soon come to a heart medal, and to the switch. Press
it. Countdown is 1:30. Run all the way back to the vortex, stopping
only to collect those few crystals you didn't get before.

Note for the level: if a Beezley pollinates a flower, you can hit the
blossom to get some coins. Wait for it to grow and become orange
before hitting it, but don't wait any longer or it'll rot.

Go to the second flower, and get stung to become Puffy Wario. Float
to the very top, avoiding all the platforms on the way, and you'll
get to the metal box of the CD. Get it.
Drop down and collect the crystals on the right, then drop to the
screen below. Go left and get all the crystals, then go back to the
ground and proceed right.

In the next section, go near the blue block in the ground, then get
stung and float to the small platform above. Perform a super smash
attack and you'll break the block. Go down and you'll find a cave.

To defeat the moles, you have to smash attack the ground so that
they'll pop out, then hit them. Go left and drop to the bottom. Go
down the corridor, and climb to the upper corridor at the end.
Collect everything, then pick up the stone and jump up the platforms.
Use the stone to break the block above, then return to the cave
entrance and go right to get the diamond. Now get out, and go right
to the next section.

Climb up to the top, then go right. Jump down and do a super smash
attack, collecting the crystals while falling. You'll break a blue
block, and gain access to yet another cave.

Drop down the edge and perform another super smash attack to uncover
a pipe at the bottom of the cave. Enter it.

BONUS ROOM
Grab the Professor and throw him to the other side of the small wall,
then do the same on the other side so that he drops to the bottom of
the room. Now use him to bounce higher and reach the diamond. Go back
to the cave.

Climb the platforms, and bounce on the last mole to get the heart.
Now enter the door on the right. Dive and swim left to the ascending
current, then swim up and keep pressing up to take all the passages
leading upwards. At the crossroad, go left and keep going up. When at
the top, drop down on the left and super smash attack to break the
ground below and find a diamond. Go back to the crossroad, but this
time, go right. Collect all the crystals, and at the end you'll find
the box with the first Jewel Piece. Now use the slope on the right to
do a roll and get all the crystals. Go back where you found the box,
and enter the door. Swim up, collecting all the crystals, until the
next door.

You're now on the highest place in the level. Drop to the platform
below, and get the heart medal and the second Jewel Piece. Then, drop
off the edge on the far left. From there, go right to the next
section.

Get stung and float up to the two red crystals, and to the section
above. On the top you'll find a diamond. Get it and go back down, and
continue right. Get the third Jewel Piece, then get stung to reach
the leaf platform and the heart at the far left. Drop down and go
right.

Eat the monkey's apple to become Fat Wario, and break the blue block
below the monkey. You'll find many crystals, and a pipe. Go down it.

BONUS ROOM
Use good ol' Professor to hit the "!" switch blocks and to break the
small block that obstructs the passage to the diamond. Grab the
treasure and go back out.

Climb the vines and do a super smash attack from the top to break the
blue block. Step on the switch. Countdown is 2:30. Get the heart
above the switch, and start running back.

On the way back, climb the small green platforms and go left. Now you
can proceed left and get the Keyzer. Don't forget the hearts below
the platform with the Keyzer. You'll also find the final Jewel Piece.
Roll to break the small block near the end. When you get to the next
screen, jump up the platform, past the pit, and past the spikes to
break the wall and find a diamond. Now break the right wall, and jump
into the vortex.

Enter the door on your right. Climb down the ladder, stun the Spear
Mask, and pick it up. Hop to the other side of the lake, getting the
heart and the crystals, and use the enemy to break the small blocks.
Crouching jump into the passage.

Pick up the stone, and power throw it over the wall to break the
block. Open the box and get the heart medal, then go back and dive
into the lake.

Swim ahead, collecting hearts and crystals. Slightly past the column
of blocks in the lake bottom, you'll see a slightly different chunk
of ceiling, with two crystals just below. Smash through it to reach a
secret room. Get the diamond on the right, then go left and do a
power slam to break the blocks at the bottom and find 2 hearts and a
pipe. Go down it.

BONUS ROOM
Grab the Professor and power throw him to the other side of the pond.
Go there, and pick him up again. Stay on the left, and throw him
normally so that he breaks the block underwater. Swim down there to
find a diamond, then get out again.

When you see it, surface to open the box with the first Jewel Piece,
then move on. In the next section, beware the black holes. If you see
red eyes in a hole, a big fish is bound to get out as soon as you get
too close. Stay alert and collect the crystals. When you have to
choose between going up or right, go right to collect the diamond
behind the blocks. From there, you can always backtrack to get all
the crystals. When you're done, continue up and get out of the water.
Go right, then turn around and dash. Jump past the water and destroy
the wall on the left to find a diamond, then return right and go on.

The next corridor has the second Jewel Piece, as well as two Hammer
guys. Now, have a close look at the place. If you stand in the part
where the ground slopes slightly downwards, you'll see that the
ceiling is somewhat different. Get hit to become Bouncy Wario, and
spring to that point to open a secret passage to the top. Turn the
balloon guys red and kill them, then go back down and exit right.

Dive into the lake, and swim ahead. Now, every time you see a column
of crystals, bubbles will appear and try to get you and carry you all
the way to the top, making you lose lots of time. Swim fast and
precisely to avoid them, and continue until you get to the last
bubble-maker. Here, get into a bubble so that you can get past the
descending current at the top, and get the diamond in the cave. Now
go back down, right, and surface again. Go on.

Go to the other side of the lake, and enter the upside-down pipe.

BONUS ROOM
Climb the platforms, grab the Professor, and power throw him over the
wall, and into the water. Quickly go back down and to the left, and
grab the ladder before the Prof hits the "!" switches, changing the
platforms in the room. Get the diamond and go back to the lake.

Go right and press the switch. Countdown is 3:00. Dive to the bottom
and head right. Avoiding the spinning maces, collect the crystals and
the Keyzer just out of the water at the top, then go back to the
bottom and swim all the way left, then up. Surface and go left.

On your way back, collect the third and the final Jewel Piece. When
you're back to the first area past the door, dash attack to smash the
blue block left of the door and open the passage to the CD. Once you
have it, go through the door and into the vortex.

Immediately enter the upside-down pipe.

BONUS ROOM
Dash and hit the switch while running - this way, you'll prevent the
stone from falling into the water below. Pick it up, and use it to
break the blocks and reach the diamond. Now, get out.

Use the moving platforms to cross the lakes and collect the crystals.
After the second set of platforms though, drop down and dive below
the wall to the left. You'll end up in a secret room with a box
containing a heart medal. Now go back, up the wall, and to the left.

Get an apple from the monkey, and smash the blue block. You'll fall
to a cave full of crystals. Get as many as you can, but after the
last row (which is the closest to the right wall), stay near the wall
to fall on another fragile block. Below is a diamond. Now get back
up, and get the first Jewel Piece from the box. Go left and smash the
floor beside the left wall. Keep on pounding the ground so that the
Hammer guy bounces up the platform and to the cave floor. Get hit
and, as Bouncy Wario, spring through the passage full of crystals.
You'll soar through the upper room, and get to yet another secret
room at the top.

Roll down the slope to get to the box with the CD, then go back down.
Head right and into the upside-down pipe.

BONUS ROOM
Go to the far left and you'll find an Indian. Wait for him to shoot
an arrow, then go back right, with the arrow following you. At the
pipe, get stung so that you become Puffy Wario, and float to the
diamond. Exit the room.

Collect all the remaining crystals in this area, then move on to the
left. Jump from platform to platform, collecting the crystals, until
you get back to solid ground. When this happens, drop down and get
the second Jewel Piece, then keep on going down until you get to the
switch.

Ignore the switch for now, and destroy all the blocks. Now dash
attack towards the switch to break the blue block behind it. Climb
the ladder, go to the edge of the platform, and get stung by the
Indian's arrow. As Puffy Wario, float as high as you can, to the
entrance of the area, and to the passage above it. You'll be in a new
area. Dash from one platform to the other to get over the wall at the
far left. There's a diamond there. When you're done, return to the
switch, and press it.

Countdown is 4:00. Run to the right, and at the second group of
blocks, break the blocks to find a door. Enter it, climb to the top,
and drop down to get the third Jewel Piece. Now break the left wall,
and get the stone behind it. Power throw it towards the door, then go
there, pick it up, and go up the platforms. Power throw the stone to
the red block to break it and reveal a diamond. Now get out.

Continue right. In the next area you'll find the final Jewel Piece.
Climb the ladder on the left back up, and go back to the previous
area. Return to the first slope at the far left, and roll down it and
to the next area. There, fall down the edge of the cliff, wait for a
moment, then jump on the platform at the end to break the wall and
find a secret passage full of crystals. Enter the pipe at the end and
you'll be back to the entry area. Here, get on the blue platform to
grab the Keyzer at its end, then swim all the way to the right and
use the swinging platforms to jump back into the vortex.

Now you can play the mini-games. From now on though, they'll cost a
whopping 5,000 coins for each game. When you're done, proceed to the
Boss' lair.

Now the most expensive weapons will be available at the Item Shop.
They are:

Buy one if you want, then move on to challenge the Boss.

Begin the battle by breaking its vase to wake it up. Now climb on the
ladders, and wait for it to attack. It'll try to hit you with its
spiky leaves. Slam it on the head to hit it. After the hit, stay
behind it so it has to back off, giving you time to return to the
ladders.
After some hits, it will sometimes go offscreen, then reenter and
drop many drool drops that will turn you into Zombie Wario if
touched. You can avoid this attack by standing below - or on - the
left ladder. Anyway, if you do get zombified, a firefly will appear.
Touch it to become Wario again. Note that the Boss will also release
its zombifying drool when hit.
The more damage you deal, the quicker the Boss attacks, and the
farther its leaves can reach. However, its attack pattern never
changes. If you're good, you can stay on the right ladder and hit the
Boss as soon as he stops flashing after a hit. This way, you'll
defeat it in no time. Just be careful not to touch it.

| THE CURIOUS FACTORY |

Break the blocks along the way. Beware the spiky-headed robots - they
can detach their heads and send them rolling on the ground at you. In
the next section you'll find the first of many platform wheels. In
order to use these, you must step on the left or right platform so
that the wheel rotates in that direction, and you can proceed. Use
this first wheel to go over the wall on the right, then drop below
the second wheel to find the first Jewel Piece. Now go up the ladder
on the left, and use the second wheel.

In the corridor ahead you'll find three pistons. If they hit you,
you'll become Flat Wario. So, get hit by a piston, and return to the
left. Jump from the very edge of the platform and float to the left,
to the wheel you just used. When you're there, jump on the left
platform of the wheel, then jump and float to the platforms on the
left. Collect the heart, then go along the small passage and jump
past the tight hole. Enter the detector to become Wario again, and
take the diamond.

Now return to the pistons, and go ahead. Break the blocks at the end
of the corridor, and drop down to collect the crystals. Turn to the
left and break the block beside the base of the ladder to find a
passage leading to a pipe. Enter it.

BONUS ROOM
Grab the Professor and use him to break the small blocks in the upper
passage and hit the "!" switch. Roll down the slope to get the
diamond, then get out.

Continue to the right, and to the next section. Here you'll have to
use many wheels to get to the top-left exit, where a heart is
waiting. Get it and go on. The next room is full of conveyor belts.
Break the block in the left wall to find a small alcove with a pipe.
Go down it.

BONUS ROOM
Grab the stone and wait for the piston's led to flash red. When it
does, the piston's going to smash the ground. Jump to avoid the
impact wave, then quickly go past the piston and power throw the
stone through the small passage. Now become Flat Wario, and simply
walk off the ledge to get through the middle hole in the wall. Dive
into the water to become Wario again, then pick up the stone and
power throw it through the lowermost hole in the wall. This will open
the passage to the diamond. To get there, be Flat Wario and float to
the middle hole in the right wall, and from there just drop and float
to the left. Get the diamond and exit.

Go up the conveyor belts to the top of the room, and go left. Get the
heart, and break the wall to uncover a small room with three balloon
guys. Turn them red and smash'em. Now go right and enter the corridor
to go ahead.

Go down the ladder, and get hit by the Torchman to become Flaming
Wario. When you are completely enveloped in flames, touch the block
with the flame symbol to get the heart behind. Now get the second
Jewel Piece along this corridor, then dash to the right to break the
block at the end of the corridor. Go down.

Get all the crystals and the diamond, and get back up. Climb the
ladder and jump from one conveyor belt to another to collect crystals
and the Keyzer. Now return to the second belt, and fall on the right
to find the switch. Press it.

Countdown is 3:30. Go back to the ladder, climb it, and go all the
way to the right and into a newly opened corridor. Collect crystals,
hearts, and the third Jewel Piece in the next room, and get squashed
to become Flat Wario before you go ahead.

Drop down in the wheels room to get to the now-open passage at the
bottom-right corner, and drop down again. Float to the right to get
on the platform there, then crawl along the small passage and float
past the tight hole. Become Wario again and get the CD, then continue
on.

Use the spinning and the floating platforms to get all the way left,
and collect the diamond and the final Jewel Piece. Now go up and run
to the left to return to the vortex.

| THE TOXIC LANDFILL |

Drop down the platforms to get all the crystals and one heart. You'll
land on a TV. Break all the garbage around it, and go down the
corridor leading to the right.

In the next room, go all the way right, and get an apple from the
monkey to become Fat Wario. Break the blue block and you'll fall to a
room below. Get the crystals, then break the blocks and get stung by
the Indian to turn into Puffy Wario. Float all the way up and into
the passage above the monkey. Avoid all the spikes to get to the top,
where you'll find a diamond and a pipe. Enter the pipe.

BONUS ROOM
Pick up a stone, go right, and power throw it at the green "!"
switch. Now pick up another, and do the same at the edge of the green
platform. Get yet another stone, and drop it on the red platform,
then grab another stone and return on the red platform. Hit the green
switch, jump on the new green platform, and use the stone you kept
apart to hit the final red switch. Collect the diamond and get back
out.

Go back to the room with the monkeys, and this time, get an apple
from the monkey on the left. Break the blocks below the blue one, and
when you hit solid ground, break the left wall to find many crystals,
then break the blocks below the ladder. You'll land beside the box
with the first Jewel Piece. Get it, then break the left wall to open
the way to a diamond. Snatch it, then enter the door on the right.

Walk on the platform until you meet the monkey. Get on its right
side, and eat its apple. Smash the first block on the monkey's right
to slam on the sewer floor and break it to reveal a passage with many
crystals, a diamond, and a heart. Now surface and get out on the far
right.

Get the second Jewel Piece, then be hit to become Bouncy Wario. Jump
up at the door, and soar through the blocks and to the passage in the
ceiling. Enter the door you'll find there.

Drop to the right and super smash attack to break the block at the
bottom. Swim left and touch a bubble to float to the surface next to
a diamond. Now go back down and enter the currents to get all the
crystals, then get back out.

Turn into Bouncy Wario again, but this time, jump at the right side
of the room. You'll find yet another passage at the top, and a
corridor leading right.

Take the third Jewel Piece, and break the garbage on the right of the
box. Continue down the passage, then, when you can see the box with
the heart medal, break the tires to get to a secret door. Enter it.

In the following room, stun the monkey and pick it up. Power throw it
to the small blocks above to break them, so that the Hammer guy
falls. Be hammered to turn into Bouncy Wario, and jump up to find a
diamond and a heart. Go back down and grab the monkey. Throw it past
the water and near the door, and get Fat again. Drop into the water
to break the bottom and reveal yet another diamond, along with many
crystals and a heart. Now go back through the door.

Go get the heart medal inside the box, then go back left and to the
blue block. Dash attack it to break it, and start destroying the
garbage on the right. When you've destroyed three chunks, smash the
one below you and make your way to the left, where the CD is waiting.

Now go back and continue breaking the trash to make out a way to the
right. When you see crystals below you, stop going right and break
the floor to get the crystals. Go to the left until you find a
diamond and a heart, then start going back. At one point, you'll see
that you can break two blocks in the floor; below them is a pipe.
Enter it.

BONUS ROOM
Eat an apple to become Fat Wario, and run into all the Black Spinys
to earn tons of coins. Now go back out and proceed to the right
through the trash until you reach the door. Go through it.

Press the switch. Countdown is 5:00. Eat an apple from the monkey,
and as Fat Wario, stomp the blue block near the door to fall to the
room bottom. Run to the right, and to the next section. Take the
heart and go back to the previous room.

Now turn into Bouncy Wario, and spring exactly below the fifth block
from the left. This way, you'll soar right to the Keyzer. When you
have it, go right, drop down, and super smash attack to destroy the
blue block at the bottom.

In the room below, just dash attack the zillion breakable blocks that
block your way, and climb the ladder at the end. Now you're back in
the first room. Take the final Jewel Piece, then get stung by an
arrow and, as Puffy Wario, float all the way up to the top of the
room, where you'll find two hearts. Get them, then drop to the bottom
again, get Puffy, and float to the vortex.

Go right and climb up the ladder. Jump from one conveyor belt to
another to go as high as you can, and lure the Spikehead off the top-
left platform so that you can get the diamond there. Now get over the
wall on the right, and go to the bottom to break the normal block.
Now get back up, and super slam attack to break the floor below and
proceed through the level.

Go ahead until you see snow falling. Stay there and get submerged by
snow to turn into Snowman Wario. Just touch the slope on the left to
start rolling and destroy the snowball block to reach the next
section.

Take the heart, then follow the lower passage to the door and enter.
Open the box for the first Jewel Piece, then enter the second passage
from above and follow it to the end to find a diamond.

Go back to the passage entry, and take the passage below. Get the
heart, then crouching jump to the small opening below to get another
diamond. Retrace your steps, skip the passage below you, and go down
the one that follows. At the end is the Keyzer. Now go to the passage
entrance, and super slam attack to break the block at the bottom and
uncover a pipe. Go down it.

BONUS ROOM
Get bubbles from the bird, and use them to hit the two "!" switches
on the other side of the wall and clear the way to the diamond. Then,
get out.

Go down the bottom corridor, and take the heart at its end. Now, from
the bottom passage, count three corridors, and enter the third one.
Follow it to the end and you'll find a door. Enter it.

Climb the icy wire to the crystal, and turn into Snowman Wario. Get
back down and touch the slope to roll and clear the way. Climb the
ladder and get the second Jewel Piece, then roll down the right slope
to find a secret niche with a diamond. Back to the previous room,
make your way to the very top, stopping only to collect the crystals
and the heart that's just below the highest platform. Once at the
top, turn into Snowman Wario and drop down 'til you're back to the
ladder. Roll down the slope on its left and you'll eventually reach a
door. Enter it.

Take the third Jewel Piece, then turn into Snowman Wario and roll
down the first slope to collect some crystals. Now go to the bottom
of the room and collect the final Jewel Piece, then go right and
reach the second slope from the floor. Roll down it and jump when
you're on the small platform to break a series of small blocks and
reach a room, at the top of which sits a diamond. From there, jump
up, take the heart, and get snowed. Roll down the slope to find a
secret pipe. Enter it.

BONUS ROOM
Stun the Yeti and carry him to the second long platform, then drop
him and stay on the left. He'll then freeze you and send you sliding
past the spikes and to the diamond. Grab it and get back out.

Return to the first snowball maker and turn into Snowman Wario. Use
your little jumping abilities to reach the slope above the bottom-
left tunnel, and from there, slide to another diamond. Now, go to the
long slope at the top-left, roll down normally, and jump before you
fall down to find yet another diamond. Do it again, and just before
you hit the wall, jump to break through a small passage and find a
heart and a diamond. Finally, get snowed and go to the bottom-left
tunnel, and slide out of this room and into the following. Go left
and you'll find the switch. Press it.

Countdown is 4:00. Climb the ladder and get the heart, and become
Snowman Wario. Roll down the slope and you'll stop at the bottom of a
cave after quite a long trip. Dash attack all the blocks between you
and the ladder, and don't forget the coins and the diamond you'll
find in some of them.

Climb the ladder to the top, avoiding getting frozen by the Yetis. At
the top, go right and climb the next ladder. Crawl through the small
passage and fall down. Go down still, then left, and break the block
from below. Now fall into the hole, retrace your steps to the vortex,
and from there go right one more time. Get the CD from the box, then
go left and into the vortex.

Go left and collect the crystals, the roll down the slope. When you
stop, go up the platforms, avoiding the spiky balls, and climb the
wire. At the end, go right for a heart, then left, and through the
door.

In this room, for the first time, you'll have to throw each one of
the four black balls into one of the metallic "mouths". This will
destroy the block with the number on it, allowing you to reach the
door. Enter it.

Roll down, but don't enter the door yet. Instead, go slightly back
and destroy the small blocks to get to the box with the first Jewel
Piece. NOW go through the door.

Again, you'll have to throw the black ball into the "mouths" to
release the block. Before you do this though, get the second Jewel
Piece, and destroy the block to its right. Enter the pipe.

BONUS ROOM
Turn into Flaming Wario, and while running, jump up the platforms and
hit the "!" switch. Jump up the next platforms, and do the same with
the following switch. At the end of the final platform, you'll be
completely flamed, and able to break the flame block. Get the diamond
and leave.

Now get those black balls in place. To get your hand on the ones on
the out-of-reach platforms, you'll have to slam attack the platforms
below them, so that they'll bump down near you. When you're done, go
left and up from the door, and jump down along the left wall. Enter
the passage that was behind the second mouth, and collect the diamond
there before proceeding.

Use the wire to get to the other side, collect the heart, and enter
the door. Here, you'll have another black ball puzzle, but this time,
things are getting more complicated. First, go left and above the
first ball, and slam attack the ground so that the ball bounces into
the mouth. Now go left some more, and eat an apple to become Fat
Wario, then destroy the blue block. Get the third Jewel Piece, then
pick up the ball and take it to the highest part of the room, and
throw it into the mouth in the center. For the last two balls, simply
slam the ground below them to make 'em roll into the mouths. Now,
before you go through the door, go to the bottom of the room, where
you found the Jewel Piece, and smash the wall on the right, where the
first "mouth" was. When the way's clear, get an apple and become Fat,
then go to the blue block in the floor and smash it to find a pipe.

BONUS ROOM
Swim up and stay in the water, close to the "!" switch. Get the
monkey's attention so that it throws you an apple, then jump, get the
apple, and hit the block below you. All the Spinys will fall into the
water, turning into lots of cash. Swim down to get it, then get out.
Now you can enter the door.

Roll down the slope, then make your way up and to the left to find
the CD. From there, just go right to the next door. Get the final
Jewel Piece, then go left. Slam the floor near the wall to break it,
grab a ball, and take it to the right and into the mouth. Now get
another ball and go right, and jump on the platforms above the door.
See that small indentation in the wall? Power throw the ball to open
up a passage, take the ball, and jump on the moving platform to get a
heart and put the ball into the mouth. Now enter the pipe by super
slamming the blue block.

BONUS ROOM
Grab the Professor and throw him on the platform above. Now grab him
again and use him to break the small blocks, then go through the
wall, pick the Prof up once more, and jump down. Throw the Prof at
the block to break it and open the passage to the heart medal. Get
out, and get going with the balls.

The last two balls are easily placed, so do it. When you're finished,
go left from the exit door and break the wall to find a diamond. Now
enter the door. Get to the top and collect the heart, then crawl
below the right head and you'll fall on the switch. Countdown is
6:00. Go through the door. In the next room, go left (beware the
sparks from the antennas) and smash the blocks below the black balls.
Now put the balls in place - two mouths are accessible at the right
side of the room, and two are accessible from the platforms above the
exit. Now, get out.

Get the Keyzer and enter the next door. To find the first two balls,
go left and up the platforms. Get the first ball and throw it down to
the right, then slam the blocks below you to get to the second. Put
them in place - the mouths are very close to each other here. The
last two balls are at the top right - bounce on the Yeti to reach
them. Exit.

Roll down the slopes and you'll eventually reach the vortex.

When you pass below it, the cuckoo clock will extend its crane,
trying to get you. If it does catch you, it will carry you to one of
the two spinning wheels at the side of the screen, and this will hurt
you. However, this attack is also the cuckoo's weak point: when the
crane is down, and if you have avoided it, it will flash for a
moment. Hit now, and it will spin around and hit the boss. After some
hits, it will start dropping razor-sharp cogs that will run along the
floor to hit you. Jump over them, and watch out for the left cog,
which is faster.
At one point the clock will blow up, and the condor will show up. It
will drop eggs from its rear (where else, anyway?). If an egg hits
the floor, it will hatch, and a chick will get out. It will walk for
a while, then flash, and eventually explode. Grab the eggs before
they fall to the floor, and throw them at the small condor on the big
condor's head. The more you damage it, the quicker the Boss will
move, until you finally destroy it.

Break the blocks on the right (and learn the main lesson for this
level: blocks with a winking cat face must be destroyed, while still
cat faces mean "don't smash". Blue blocks can't be destroyed), then
pick up the pyramid and carry it to the door. Throw it up to put it
into the slot and open the door. Go in.

Grab the pyramid and open the next door. Go inside and collect the
first Jewel Piece and the crystals, and crawl through the small
passage. Hit the ball to move it ahead and grab the crystals, then
get out.

Go through the next door. Break the small block in the left wall,
then break the blocks on the right, but don't enter the door - just
go up. Break the blocks with the cat face, and use the blue one to
get into the passage in the wall and to a pipe. Go down it.

BONUS ROOM
Hit the "!" switch twice quickly, so that the two blocks fall on the
platforms below, and dash attack the blue block in the left wall. Get
the crystals and the heart medal, and get out.

Now make the blue block fall down, and enter the door above it. Take
the second Jewel Piece, and exit to be back to the previous room. Go
up to where the ball is and push it to the left, and use it to reach
the platforms above. At the top, enter the door.

Break the first and the third cat blocks, but don't touch the one in
the middle. Now go past the blocks, then use them to reach the
crystals above the door. Fall down, getting the crystals along the
way. At the bottom, destroy all the blocks below the blue blocks,
then dash over the blue blocks and break the block on the left for a
diamond. Go right and dash attack to clear the way. At the end of the
corridor, jump on the platform and dash attack again to reach a bunch
of crystals. Now go through the door on the far right.

Get to the stone face. Facing left, turn into Flaming Wario to melt
the flame block on the right. Get flamed again, but this time, jump
on every platform you see ahead of you. This way, you'll get to the
top-right part of the room, where there are many crystals below a
flame block. Finally, go to the second stone face and become Flaming
Wario once more. Jump from one platform to another to melt the flame
block and reach the pyramid. Carry the pyramid to the door, and put
it in place. Now, don't enter the door, but go right. Jump attack (or
dash) from the edge to reach the small edge on the high right, and
the wall there will disappear, revealing an upside-down pipe. Enter
it.

BONUS ROOM
Go up the platforms to the red ball, and push it to the left and down
the slope. Stand on it, and super slam attack the blue block on the
left. Now dash attack the other blue block, and finally push the ball
into the indentation in the floor to reach the diamond. Now, get out
and into the door on the far left.

Break all the cat blocks below the left blue block, but only the
upper cat block below the right blue block, to get to the upper
floor. Enter the next door. Get the third Jewel Piece, then, facing
left, turn into Flaming Wario to melt the flame block on the far
left. Behind the blocks below you'll find a door leading to a room
with some crystals. When you're ready, press the switch.

Countdown is 4:00. Go up the platforms on the right, and through the
door. Break the cat blocks under the blue block, and jump to the
upper floor. Grab the Keyzer and go down the pipe.

You'll land on the box with the final Jewel Piece. Go left and crawl
through the small passage. Break the cat blocks, and use the blue
block as a platform to reach the diamond on the other side. Drop down
and go left. Get the crystals, and crouching jump into the small hole
to reach a diamond. Now get the pyramid and take it right where the
door is. Step on the ball and open the door with the pyramid. Enter
to find the CD. Exit, go left, and up the pipe.

Exit through the door, and go back to the vortex.

| THE BIG BOARD |

Go right until you get to a sort of slot machine. At that point, a
bar will appear at the bottom of the screen. The first space,
"Start", will be highlighted. When you hit the slot machine, you will
stop it on a number between 1 and 6, and the cursor on the bottom bar
will proceed by that number of steps. The highlighted symbol will
determine what effect you get:

- Platforms with arrows: dotted platforms will turn solid, and solid
 blocks will disappear.
- Wario's face: Wario will turn into something that may help him
 reach hidden areas.
- Heart: you will get one heart.
- Diamond: you'll get a diamond.
- Black man: three enemies will appear.
- Bolt: you'll get hit and lose 400 coins.

On the first try, you'll get the platform change regardless of the
number you pick, so get the crystals by stepping on the platforms.

Go to the next area, and follow the lower path to collect the first
Jewel Piece. Now step on the platform and on the slim platform at the
top to find more crystals and hearts, then go ahead.

Stand below a slot machine and face right. Hit the slot so that you
get Wario's face and turn into Flaming Wario. While running left,
jump on the platforms to reach and destroy the flame block, and get
the diamond. Now go right and fall down the hole to collect the
second Jewel Piece, then dash attack the right wall to find a secret
pipe. Go down it.

BONUS ROOM
Use the bubbles dropped by the green bird to break the small blocks
and make the two toy racers drop to the spikes below. Bounce on them
to safely cross the floor and collect the heart medal in the box. Get
out and go on.

Go down the steps and collect the third Jewel Piece, then use the
slot machines and get the black man. Use one of the enemies to break
the small blocks in the right wall, and get the diamond behind it.
Now collect the crystals and, if you can, use the second slot machine
to change the platforms in the level. Proceed to the right, getting
the final Jewel Piece on the way.

Use the slot machine to turn into Fat Wario. Break the blue blocks
and kill all the Black Spinys for lotsa coins, and get a diamond in
the tunnel below. Now go to the next section.

Go down and use the slot machine to turn into Flat Wario. Float to
the hole high in the right wall, and go right to find the box with
the CD. Now use the next slot machine to change the platforms, then
enter the door. In the next room, turn into Bouncy Wario, and soar
through the first column of blocks in the ceiling to break a blue
block at the top. Now go up the platforms on the right, and enter the
door at the top.

Roll down the slope and you'll hit the switch. Countdown is 3:00. Use
the platforms to reach the door. In the next room, you'll have to use
the slot machines to get the cursor to the last space in the bar,
i.e. the "Goal". In the meanwhile, get the black man and bounce on
the enemies to get the crystals. When you finally get the "Goal", the
floor will disappear. Break the small blocks and drop down, getting
the Keyzer while falling.

Go down and right, in the small corridor above the blue blocks, and
break the blocks. Get the diamond, then break the blocks to go down,
and get the crystals on the high platform. Enter the door. Go up the
blue platform and enter the upside-down pipe.

BONUS ROOM
Slam attack the ground so that the Professor bounces down next to
you, and power throw him up to hit the "!" switch and create a
platform to the diamond. Get out.

Go left 'til the vortex.

Go right and jump on the red platform, and from there into the blue
portion of the wall. As you'll find out, you can go through such blue
zones. This one hides the first Jewel Piece.

In the next section, you'll meet the Hoggus. It alternatively throws
a spiky snail and a purple flying pig, so watch out. Proceed to the
right, then down. Now go left 'till you have to drop down again, and
this time, you'll see a block in the right wall. Break it and enter
the fake wall to reach a pipe. Enter it.

BONUS ROOM
Start rolling and hit all the "!" switches to get to the bottom of
the room, where a diamond is waiting, then hit them all again to
return to the pipe, and get out.

Go left, and in the second blue wall, break the blocks to find a door
leading to a room that hides the second Jewel Piece. Get it, go out,
and keep going left, then down, and to the right. Go ahead and, when
you get to the slim red platforms, don't go up them - crawl under the
pencils and go left, then up to find a pipe. Enter it.

BONUS ROOM
This bonus room is very tricky. The platforms above the spikes are
only visible until you get close, then they'll be covered by fake
walls. You'll have to memorize the position of the platforms in order
to get to the diamond on the far right of the room. The final
platform can't be seen - you'll have to guess where it is. When
you've collected the diamond, roll back to the entrance, and get out.

Now go right, and when you get to the wall of small blocks, wait for
the Hoggus to release a flying pig. Bounce on it to get over the
wall, and go right and into the door to find a diamond. Now get back
and break the small blocks to proceed. Drop down to hit the switch.

Countdown is 6:00. Go down to get the Keyzer, and roll through the
small corridor. When you've stopped, go up the platforms and to the
next section. Here you'll have to hit the pencils to move them and
create platforms to go on. Hit the first pencil. Watch out for Hoggus
pictures, as some of them will spring to life and attack you. Go up
the red platforms, then go slightly right and hit the blue pencil
above. Go left now, and hit the purple pencil. Use the pencils to go
up. Now go right and up to collect the third Jewel Piece, and hit the
blue pencil. Keep going up, and hit the next purple pencil. Go right
and drop on that pencil, and from there jump right to the exit, and
to the next section.

Roll down the slope and jump whenever you see crystals - this way,
you'll get all the crystals and the diamond hidden in a wall. Roll
'til the next section. Here, hit the pencil, then smash the floor to
bring the monkey to the upper platform. Eat its apple and smash the
block on the right side of the pencil. Go along the path and you'll
eventually find a diamond. Now get back, and proceed up and to the
left. Collect the final Jewel Piece on the way, and when you get to
the next blue pencil, go up it and hit the next one, then hit the one
you just stepped on as well. Now you can use them to reach the exit
of this area.

Roll down the slope and you'll roll through a tight passage below.
When you stop, go left and enter the door. Get the CD, then exit and
jump up the red platforms. Now go left and back to the vortex.

| DOMINO ROW |
+------------+

Hit the red button to destroy the brick wall. Go through the door and
you'll find out why this level is called Domino Row: when you hit a
pole, all the domino pieces will subsequently fall until they hit the
switch at the end of the row. The fact is, if you let them do this,
you won't be able to reach certain areas. What you must do is to
anticipate the dominos and press the red button at the end of the row
before they do - this way, you'll break brick walls and get access to
some very interesting (and sometimes vital) areas. Do so in this room
and you'll get hearts and crystals. Now enter the door.

In this room, you MUST go faster then the dominos: if you fail, you
won't be able to get the first Jewel Piece, which sits above the next
door. Go through it. In the next room, win the race and you'll set
free a Hammer guy. Get Bouncy and spring to the top to find a pipe.
Enter it.

BONUS ROOM
Grab the Professor and throw him on the higher platforms, then use
him to break the small blocks and make all the Spinys fall into the
water, where they'll turn into shiny silver coins. Get them and the
heart, then leave.

Fall on the right and power slam attack to break the blue block, then
go right and through the door. Now hit the dominos, then roll down
the slope to beat them to the flag and gain access to a secret door.
Enter it and go up. Use the second toy racer to break the big blocks
on the right and clear the way to the diamond. Bounce on the other
toy racer to get the diamond, then enter the door.

In the next room, you'll have to run and swim to beat the dominos.
Don't worry too much about the crystals, but be sure to press the red
button before the dominos do. When you're done, go back underwater
and get the second Jewel Piece, then go through the next door.

Beating the dominos in the next room will gain you access to a door
leading to the CD, so be sure to win the race. Then break the blue
block, and super slam attack while falling down to break another blue
block and find a pipe. Enter it.

BONUS ROOM
Use the dash attack or the regular charge to hit the "!" switches and
create platforms to get to the diamond. Take it and exit. Now hit the
switch.

Countdown is 4:00. Dive on the left and swim to the door. Now go
down, then left through the passage you opened earlier - this will
save you a lot of time while going back. Go through the next door,
and through the following one, too.

Roll down the slope and jump when you come to a gap - if you keep
this up, you'll get to the third Jewel Piece. Keep rolling until the
next door, and enter it. Now go left, and get hit by the Hammer guy
at the far left, then soar through the blocks and to the crystals at
the top. Now go left.

Keep going until you're back to the entry room, and fall down the
hole to get the Keyzer. In the room below, break all the blocks you
find to get to the final Jewel Piece, then backtrack to the red pipe
and enter it to return to the vortex.

This Boss is so easy you won't believe it. Nail-shaped monsters will
parachute towards you. Stun them, then pick them up and power throw
them at the Boss. It will deflate and descend - at that point, its
feet will start glowing. Hit them to turn the Boss upside-down, then
hit the small mouse on its head. Do this as much as you can before
the Boss turns around and ascends out of reach again.
Repeat this procedure for the whole battle. Just be careful of the
fireballs that will start falling from above once the Boss has gotten
weak enough.

At the very beginning of the level, you'll meet a flying ghost. It
can spit a green ball that can turn you into Zombie Wario. Get hit,
and jump on the thin platform in the floor to drop down to a room
with many crystals and four hearts. Get out using the pipe, and get
going. Enter the door.

Climb the ladder and go through the next door. Go right and you'll
see a big ghost. It can't hurt you now, but it can steal the coins
that'll roll on the floor when you smash blocks and kill enemies.
Moreover, he may cause a lot of trouble later. Anyway, go ahead, hit
the "!" switch, and go back to collect a diamond. Be sure to hit the
switch again before entering the next door.

Ignore the bat, and go to the upper floor. Roll down the slope on the
left, and jump over the small pit to break the blocks and get to the
ladder. Climb it. Now, get hit by the bat to become Bat Wario. Fly to
the far left, avoiding the candle light, and get the first Jewel
Piece. Now smash the floor below the nearby candle to find a secret
door. Go in.

Break the blocks on the left, and smash the upper part of the wall to
find a stone. Use it to break the block at the top of the ladder, and
go up there. Crawl into the passage and off the edge, and get into
the other small passage to get a diamond. Now get out, return to the
bat, and fly to the door.

Keep going, collecting crystals as you go. When you see the diamond,
jump down to the lower floor. Go right until the last platform before
the door. On this platform is a slope. Roll down it and to the left,
and you'll find a new room. Collect the second Jewel Piece and the
hearts, then go back and roll again to uncover a secret room with the
CD. From here, roll down all the way to the right, and you'll uncover
a secret passage below the steps. At the end is a pipe. Enter it.

BONUS ROOM
Get zombified by either ghost, and hit them. Quickly get into the
water, and grab one of the ghosts' heads. Use it to break the small
blocks and get to the diamond. Ignore the green bird, and get out and
into the next door.

Climb the ladder and go left. Hit the "!" switch to create slopes
from the "!" blocks, and roll down the one you're close to to kill
three monsters in a small niche and get 300 coins. Now go back down
and do the same to find the third Jewel Piece and a door. Enter it.

Go right, and when you get to the boxes, break them to clear a path.
Enter the upside-down pipe halfway through.

BONUS ROOM
Grab the Professor and power throw him past the wall and on the
block. Now crawl through the passage and all the enemies will try to
charge you, but they'll fall into the water, turning into coins. Get
out and go right.

Fall down the hole and collect the crystals in the water. Swim left
to the wall, and into the current going left. This way, you'll be
able to collect a diamond. Now get the final Jewel Piece, and exit.
Go right and into the door.

Go up the platforms to collect the diamond, then go back down and hit
the switch. Countdown is 3:30. Turn into Bat Wario and fly up to the
Keyzer, then run back to the vortex. On the way though, watch out for
the big ghosts! They'll steal the Keyzer if they get too close, and
you'll have to get it back if you want to return to the vortex - in
fact, all doors will be closed until you retrieve the Keyzer. Be
careful and run all the way back to exit the level.

| ARABIAN NIGHT |
+---------------+

Enter the door and meet this level's main feature, the flying
carpets. Step on a carpet and jump repeatedly to go higher. The
carpet will also proceed in the direction you're facing. Be gentle,
because carpets won't follow you if you make a quick move. Use the
first carpet to get to the door.

Drop down and use the carpet to float right up and above the entry
door, where you'll find a pipe. Go down it.

BONUS ROOM
Jump past the Black Spinys and hit the "!" switch to make them fall
into the water and turn into $$$. Now get out and use a carpet to get
to the next door.

Break all the boxes in this room, and get the first Jewel Piece. Now
go back to the ladder, and turn into Zombie Wario. Drop through the
platforms on the left side of the room to find a diamond at the
bottom, then exit through the door. Enter the next door you'll find,
too.

Use the carpet on the right to float to the door, and enter it. Enter
the pipe you'll find.

BONUS ROOM
Go to the Professor, grab him, and throw him on the upper platform.
Now go back to the pipe and wait for him to come your way. When you
can, stun him from below to make him fall, and use him to break the
block and reach the diamond.

Get out and float up with the carpet, and while you're still on it,
start dash attacking - this way, you'll break the blue block as soon
as you land near it, and you'll be able to get the diamond at the
bottom of the next ladder. Now go back to the door, and to the
previous room.

Fly up to the next carpet, and go right to find the second Jewel
Piece. Now float to the next door, and enter it. Drop to the right,
and get on the carpet. Fly as high as you can, and get the zillion
crystals there, then fly left to the diamond, and down from there to
collect crystals and a heart. Now go back where you found the carpet,
and enter the door.

Go left, and fall through the cylinder with the Beezley inside. Now
go right, and get stung by the Beezley to get Puffy. Float up to
collect the crystals, then get Puffy again, and this time, float up
at the far right. Fall through the cylinder with the Bat, and return
to the left side of the room. Become Bat Wario and fly up to the
ladder, then go down to find the Keyzer. Now, get out.

Dash attack and jump to the right wall. You want to break the
indentation in the wall to open a secret passage leading to a
diamond. Take the diamond, then get out again, and use the carpet to
fly up and to the right, and to the door leading to the next room.

Get turned into Zombie Wario to drop through the platform and collect
the crystals below, then go up until you get near the spikes. Turn
into a Zombie again, and go right until the blue platform. Jump when
you're between the last two set of spikes - this way, you'll get many
crystals while falling. You'll fall near the third Jewel Piece. Go
down the ladder and press the switch.

Countdown is 4:00. Drop down and get on the carpet. First off, fly to
the left, collecting the many crystals, until you get to a platform
with another carpet. Dismount, and super slam attack down the column
of crystals near the wall to break the box at the bottom of the
water. Now swim left, collect the final Jewel Piece, and get on the
carpet above. Fly back to the right, and super slam attack the point
indicated by the crystal arrow to break the box below and clear the
path to a diamond. Now, swim back left and to the next section.

Surface and get on the carpet. Be careful, because you only have this
carpet for this section, and if it touches the water, it'll dissolve.
Fly to the left, collecting all the treasures, and stop on the
platform at the end of the passage. Go down the ladder to get the CD,
then get back on the carpet and to the arrow of crystals. Super slam
there to find another underwater passage with yet another diamond,
and from there swim to the left, and go up the pipe at the top. Go
through the door, and back to the vortex.

| FIERY CAVERN |
+--------------+

Just go right, being careful of the lava pillars that will rise from
the lava pits. Also be aware of the boulder-throwing monsters -
they'll shake the ground before they throw a boulder, so you're
advised!

After a couple of screens you'll get to some small platforms above a
lava pillar, with crystals on them. Jump on the lower-left platform,
and break the wall and then the floor to find a pipe. Go down it.

BONUS ROOM
Hit the green "!" switch and drop down. Get hammered to turn into
Bouncy Wario, and soar past the green switch to hit the grey one
above. Fall back all the way down, get Bouncy, and hit the green
switch. Get the diamond, then exit.

Enter the door you'll find and continue along the way. When you find
the first Jewel Piece, go left and past the lava pillar to find a
pipe. Enter it.

BONUS ROOM
Grab the Professor and use him to break the small blocks, and go down
the tight passage. Now grab him again, and use him to break the line
of blocks and the "!" switch lined with them. Go down and cross the
bridge, being careful of the lava pillars. Take the Prof one more
time, and carry him back to the left side of the bridge. Here, use
him to hit the "!" switch anew, and crouching jump into the tight
passage to reach the diamond. Now, get out.

Go right, up the ladder, and into the door. Go left to find the
second Jewel Piece, and cross the pit with a dashing jump to collect
the crystals and one diamond, then go back and to the right. Enter
the door at the end of the corridor.

Slam attack the small blocks and you'll land on the switch. Countdown
is 5:00. Surprise! The whole cave turns icy! And, in the same
fashion, the boulder throwers turn into Yetis. Run to the right and
enter the door.

Go up, avoiding the snowballs, and enter the door. Jump on the
platforms, and go down the ladder to find the third Jewel Piece.
Break the block on your right, go right, and become Snowman Wario.
Touch the right slope and you'll roll to the exit. Before going
through it, get the diamond from the block above.

Enter the next door. Go right and become Snowman Wario, and roll to
the left to find a diamond behind the wall. Now go right and up, then
left to the next door.

Go down the ladder, then up the platforms to get the Keyzer. Go left,
dash attack the ice block, and go ahead. When you get to the door,
dashing jump to the left to get the diamond, then exit.

Go up and grab the Yeti, then go down to the ground and drop it. Stay
on its left, and get frozen to slide all the way left, where the CD
is waiting. From there, go up. Bounce on the Yeti to get to the
diamond, then exit left.

In the next room, go up, past the Yeti, and break the wall at the
top-left to find the final Jewel Piece. Go down and left to return to
the vortex.

| HOTEL HORROR |

Go right and enter Room 102. Here, turn into Bat Wario to get the
diamond, then exit. Go right to the end of the corridor, get the
first Jewel Piece, and enter Room 104.

Hit the "!" switch to create ladders. Climb the ladder right of the
door. At the top, go left and hit the other "!" switch to create a
ladder that goes up to Door 304. Go through it.

Go left to the second Jewel Piece, and into Room 302. Go left and
through Door 301, and from there go left to get out. Go up and
through the exit on the right. Enter Room 401.

Turn into Flaming Wario and jump from one platform to another to
destroy the flame block and get the Keyzer. Get out and go left, and
enter the upside-down pipe.

BONUS ROOM
Don't touch the glowing background, or the room will be reset. Go up
on the right and lure the Hammer guy down. Get hammered to turn into
Bouncy Wario, and jump above the pipe to break the blocks and get a
diamond. Now go up on the left and get an apple to become Fat Wario,
and break the blue block near the pipe for another diamond. Get out.

Get turned into Zombie Wario, and drop down to the very bottom of the
stairs. Climb back up to get a diamond, and return to Room 302. Hit
the green "!" switch, and go down to Door 201. Enter it. Collect the
third Jewel Piece, then enter Room 202.

Break the blocks, then turn into Bat Wario. Get the heart above the
door, then fly right and up to the next room. Fly left to the
diamond, get normal Wario again, and grab the stone. Get very close
to the wall, and power throw the stone to clear a path leading to a
pipe. Go there.

BONUS ROOM
Go to the left of the Yeti, and get frozen to slide to the left and
kill the Spinys for many coins, then get out.

Go down and into Door 402.

Get the final Jewel Piece, and enter Room 403. Hit the "!" switch to
reach a heart, then get out and enter Room 404. Stun the monkey, grab
it, and carry it up to the blue block. Here, drop it and eat its
apple to turn into Fat Wario. Break the blue block and press the
switch below.

Countdown is 4:00. Exit and go to Room 403. Turn into Zombie Wario
and drop to Door 303, and from there go to Room 304. Go down and
enter Door 204. Go left and get into Room 203. Here, break the blocks
and go past the wall, and turn into a Zombie to drop to the CD. Get
out through Door 103. From there, just go left to find the vortex.

Time: 4:00

Beware of the drill in the water. The Boss will send high waves at
you. Ride them, and use them as a platform to attack the cat on the
Boss' head. When hit, the Boss will release some spiky eyes. Avoid
them or they'll turn you into Puffy Wario.
When it reaches the edge of the screen, the Boss will go offscreen
for a moment, then it will reenter. As you weaken it, the Boss will
also create waves that rise and lower, along with regular waves.
After some hits, the cat on the Boss' head will disappear, and the
Boss will start spitting red spiked eyes. These ones HURT, so avoid
them at all costs. From now on, all waves will go up and down, and to
hit the Boss you'll have to slam attack it on the head. Repeat until
you win.

When you exit the vortex, you'll immediately hit the switch.
Countdown is 9:30. Start running to the right, and never stop.
Chandeliers will tremble and fall, and the platforms above pits will
crumble shortly after you've stepped on them. If you're hit by a
chandelier, you'll turn into Fire Wario and fall into a pit. At the
bottom there's water, but you'll have to go back to the beginning of
the level every time you fall. Luckily, chandeliers that have already
fallen won't reappear. Run to the end of the corridor, and to the
next section.

Break the blocks and make your way to the water. Dive, and get
trapped into the first bubble. Press the D-Pad slightly to the right
to go all the way up and surface near the first Jewel Piece, then get
back and into the bubble on the right. Get the diamond on the way up,
and exit the area.

Go right and fall down to collect the second Jewel Piece. Go back up
with the pipe, and turn into Bouncy Wario. Fall down again, and
spring up to find a diamond, and the exit.

Carefully avoid getting turned into a Zombie, and make your way to
the right. In the next area, go past the first monkey, then turn
around and eat the apple to become Fat Wario. Break the middle column
of blocks to find a diamond below, then go right and back up. Proceed
to the right, and turn into Snowman Wario. Roll down the slope and
you'll get a diamond. Enter the pipe and go back up, and this time,
go right and past the snowballs. Become Bat Wario, and fly up and to
the left to find the third Jewel Piece, then go right.

Go down the ladder, go right and hit the "!" switch, then climb the
ladder up. Roll down the slope, and when you stop, collect the final
Jewel Piece. Now break the blocks there and fall below, surface, and
go up. You'll be near the ladder again. Go right and grab the
Professor, and use him to break the big block on the right and clear
the way. Go back up the ladder, roll down the slope, and be ready to
jump past two pits to get a diamond and the Keyzer. When you have the
Keyzer, fall down to the water, and swim back all the way to the
vortex, getting the diamond near the ladder on the way there.

| BOSS: GOLDEN DIVA |
+-------------------+

Time: 6:00

At the beginning of the battle, the Diva will have four masks
spinning around her. One of these will fly around and attack you.
Stun it, then pick it up and power throw it at the Diva's fan. Do
this with all four masks. If a mask gets you, you'll lose a lot of
time, until it finally lets you go.

When the fan is destroyed, a green bug will start flying around. Stun
it as well, and throw it at the Diva's face. Her eyes bulging out,
she'll drop a blue ball that will explode in a couple of seconds. You
must charge it and send it flying at the Diva's head.

Now really angry, the Diva will drop black eggs that'll hatch when
they hit the ground, releasing a black chick that'll explode soon
thereafter. Grab an egg before it falls to the floor, and throw it at
the Diva's face.

In tears now, the Diva will throw spiky hammers at you. Avoid them,
and in a while they'll turn into normal hammers. Pick one up and
throw it up, and make it fall right on YOUR head. Yeah, that's right.
You want to hit yourself in order to turn into Bouncy Wario. When
you've taken the hit, spring right to the Diva's face.

Now the Diva will repeat her attacks, from the green bug to the
hammer, while her face gets impossibly uglier with every hit. After
that, she will start using all of her attacks very quickly, so you'll
often have to cope with two attacks at a time. The black eggs seem to
be the rarest attack in this part.

When she only has 4 energy units left, the Diva's face will get very
long and she'll start pounding the floor, revealing spikes below it.
When she pounds the floor, Wario will be paralysed for a moment, so
jump when she lands. Hit her face when she descends.

When only the last of the Diva's energy units is left, only her lips
will remain. Hit them to end the fight... and the whole adventure!

CONGRATULATIONS! You've completed Wario Land 4. Enjoy the amusing
ending sequence. For every treasure chest collected after beating a
Boss, Wario will take home a special treasure, and a memory
associated to it. So, if you've collected all 12 chests, you'll get
the full ending sequence.

If you save your game data now, you'll be able to fight all the
Bosses again!

| THE MINI-GAMES |
+----------------+

The three mini-games in Wario Land 4 are nothing special, and they'll
probably get boring after you've played them a couple of times.
However, they're the only way to snatch some Medals to pay the Item
Shop guy, so let's have a look at them all.

- Wario's Homerun Derby
This is the toughest mini-game, but it can be very rewarding if you
practice for a while. The game is simple: the pitcher will make some
movements, then he'll throw the ball. All you have to do is to press
A at the right time to score a homerun and earn a point. If you hit
the ball uncorrectly, it's a foul. If you miss, it's a strike. A
homerun will cancel all fouls and strikes. Remember that fouls can
become strikes, and that fouls don't count after 2 strikes.

The pitcher's head movements will tell you what kind of ball is
coming. Here's what they mean:

Nod, nod: fast ball. Sometimes it is VERY fast.
Shake, shake, nod: slow ball. Sometimes it will speed up at the last
moment.
Shake, nod: curving ball. Quite hard to hit.
Shake, nod, shake: the ball will disappear halfway through the field,
then it will reappear after some moments.

For every 3 homeruns, you'll get a Medal. Score enough homeruns and
you'll see a brief cheerleaders' show. After 3 strikes, you're out.


- The Wario Hop
All you have to do is to jump past the various obstacles you'll find
in your way. Follow the rhythm of the music to time your jumps
better. After 38 successful jumps, the game will speed up, and the
same will happen after 94 jumps. You'll earn a Medal for every 15
successful jumps. If you hit an obstacle, you're out.


-Wario Roulette
Watch Wario's face, then choose the right features from the ones that
will be displayed. If you choose all three correctly, you'll earn a
point. For every 5 points, you'll get a Medal. After a certain number
of right choices, the game will speed up, and you'll have to choose
from a grater number of different features. Make one mistake and the
game is over.

Get a Gold Crown (10,000+ coins) in every level and you'll unlock
Karaoke Mode. Go to the Sound Room and select Karaoke, and the
background music of Palm Tree Paradise will be played, while the
