o----------------------------------------------------------------------o------o
Select 'New Game' from the main title menu and you'll be able to choose one of
two characters to play as. One is a boy (Edgar); one is a girl (Aera). Doesn't
really matter which one you choose since things mostly stay the same. Name your
character (Walkthrough written from Aera perspective, for now) and you'll end
up in...
Aera will be introduced to Ryouga, one of her friends, north of town. Continue
north and a scene automatically plays where Ryouga runs north after hearing a
noise. Tail him through the screen and you'll get a prompt asking you what you
Summoned Creature you see:
o A devil girl
o An oni child
o A half beast
o Mechanoid Soldier
Choose which one you see and you'll find the monster that's been terrorizing
the poor thing...a fluffy, hippity-hoppity Rampage Rabbit! Looks like we're
havin' meat for supper tonight.
Your character will have a smithing hammer as a "weapon," but that doesn't mean
you can't murder things with it. Attack (albeit slowly) with the A button and
defend/guard with B when the rabbit attacks. It shouldn't take too many whacks
to put this one down. You'll go up a level when the battle's over, and you can
allocate one ability point (AP) to the ATK/DEF/AGL stat. Defense raises the HP
total the most, and AGL the least.
After battle, the wounded Summoned Creature you saved will try to leave but
finds itself unable to. The default names for each character:
Oni Child ---------> Loki
Half-Beast --------> Arno
Devil Girl --------> Dinah
Mechanoid Soldier -> EXeLD
Back at Aera's house, the summoned creature is introduced to her family --
Tatiana, Orin, and Blaire. Follow 'Father' when he heads downstairs with the
summon, and Blaire will suggest making the stray summon Aera's Guardian Beast,
which is sort of like a protector. A Bonding Pledge ceremony is necessary to
officialize, though, and everyone will leave. Save at the shining sword statue
in the workshop and leave the house completely, into town.
Take the first northern path to the village square and after a long-winded
ceremonial procedure, you'll learn your character is an Edge Fencer: that who
protects the seal of Goura, the evil summoned creature. Once everything's set
in stone, Blaire wants you to start practicing weapon creation. Ryouga reminds
you of your duty to take him to the seal, and your guardian beast officially
joins your party (I chose EXeLD). Press [SELECT] to talk to your Guard Beast,
if you want to, and go back into town.
Find the item shop (has a white bag motif by its door) and talk to a man in
there, who'll give you a free [ANYWHERE DIARY]. Nothing else to really do in
town, though, so go back to the workshop.
Blaire will teach you the basics of being a Craftknight here, being: find some
materials and a Shapestone, then use a furnace to compound them together. After
some...uh, practice, you'll get a [SWORD SHAPESTONE] and some [IRON ORE]. Go
over to the furnace, choose 'Create' and compound your shapestone and ore to
get a [AMATEUR KNIFE].
Later on...your summon creature asks to take a walk with it. Since you have to
do this, be polite and choose an affirmative answer. The next day, when you're
able to move freely, equip the Amateur Knife on Aera and equip a Healing Spell
onto your creature in the Support menu. Go to the top floor of the house and
find the sparkling armoire, where you can get [200B] -- cash.
Leave back into town and you'll be notified Ryouga's house is south of you.
Go south until you find Ryouga standing in front of his door; he'll meet you at
Goura's Seal. Go up to the item shop and take the first road on its left side,
bringing you back to where the game started. Take a left at the t-crossing and
you'll be at the shrine.
Move up the strange path and Ryouga catches up with you. A summoner by the name
of Gedharm Camcarossa also barges his way here and blackmails you to open the
seal and lead him in. After some scenes in the Chamber of Seals, you'll end up
fighting...
o----------------------o
| BOSS: CATTAN | This tank has a projectile attack, but since you
| HP : 200 | (hopefully) equipped a newly-smithed Amateur Knife,
| EXP : 150 | this is a piece of cake. Do an A-A-A attack to slice
| CASH: 50 | the baddie three times consecutively, and guard when
| WIN : Iron Ore | it shoots its cannon blast or charges at you. Jump
o----------------------o over it to get a better attack vantage point. All in
all, kinda weak stalling battles. Your summoned creature should go up a level
here, too.
Scenes take place afterward in which your Amateur Knife will be broken (unable
to be used). Title screen is displayed and you'll be back in...
Back in your workshop-slash-bedroom, save the game and go to the second floor
of the house to find Blaire. You'll learn that Goura's Seal has been damaged
and his power will eventually come back. To reseal the sucker, you'll need to
reclaim the Daemon Edge. You can leave shortly following the scene.
Go back to the village square and watch some heckling scenes. Apparently, the
Daemon Edge is in the Wind Fortress in the nearby fortress...or something. No
one really knows. You'll be given a [SWORD SHAPESTONE] and [IRON ORE] so that
you'll be able to reforge your knife. Leave.
Back in town, before you go to the workshop, go to the southwestern most house
and talk to the granny. She'll tell ask you to find her cat outside -- it's by
the Item Shop's dead end. Finding it nets you a [SMALL WORM], which you can use
to regain 5 HP or, primarily, go fishing!
Back at the workshop, create another Amateur Knife in the furnace. You'll be
given a set of options to be truthful/facetious to your summoned creature about
its performance, but either way, the sword sucks and breaks. You'll have to get
more materials in the forest before you can continue. When you can leave, heal
up in your bed (press A button) and find the path that cuts right through the
village to the exit.
Before you leave, head down the path by the salesman and enter the first house
on your right. Talk to the woman to get a [BROKEN WATCH]. Exit the house and
to the house all the way at the left path and talk to the man inside. He'll
take his grandfather's Broken Watch and give you a [BANDAGE] for your trouble!

| Tree Branch | This will be your first actual random
| Ripe Berry | battle location, so I'll tell you about
| Green Tree Sap | weapons. Some weapons are used for varying
o----------------------------o actions in the field. Fr'instance:
Spears --> Poke trees to get fruits, etc.
Axes ----> Cut stumps
Swords --> Chop grass
Hammers -> Open warps
All weapons can break crates and barrels, though. As soon as you enter, smash
the purple portal with a hammer to activate it (one half of two) and destroy
the wooden crates and such nearby -- you should get a [TOUGH LEATHER], [IRON
ORE], and a [SMALL WORM]. Since items are random and regenerate each time you
enter a dungeon, you can farm these things and get more. Head south when it's
time.
[ENTRY WOODS - AREA 02]
Open the treasure chest nearby to get a [SWORD SHAPESTONE]. You can't continue
south/west until you make an Amateur Knife in the village -- go do so, then
come back. Switch weapons with the L/R buttons, remember. Cut the grass and go
south.
[ENTRY WOODS - AREA 03]
Open the chest for an [AXE SHAPESTONE]. Go south a bit to where there's a
decline, and look for a shiny gold object by the right timberline. It's your
first [RARE MEDAL]! Before you go back to town and make your axe (mandatory),
fight some Spirits until they drop a Charged Ore. If you can't manage to get
any, make an Amateur Axe and return; make a Metal Axe is you can get some.
Later on, when you get a spear, you can find Green Tree Sap, Ripe Berries,
Tree Branches, and Kicker Berries, the latter being the most useful.
[ENTRY WOODS - AREA 02]
Now that you have an axe of some sort, head to the west side and chop down the
tree stumps that bar your path.
[ENTRY WOODS - AREA 04]
Cut down the grass and such here to get materials (Zasso Leaves seem to be easy
to get here), and make sure to get the second [RARE MEDAL] in the SW corner.
In the northeastern corner, axe the stumps to get a [SPEAR SHAPESTONE] chest!
Try to stay in good HP shape, 'cause you'll face a boss as you try to exit to
the north.
Pretty easy as long as you stay at the front of it. Guard its bite attack,
which you can see coming from a mile away -- it crouches and bares its teeth
before lunging. Use your sword or axe to do away with it, using your trusty
attack-and-guard combo. Not too hard.
At the gate, bang your hammer on the purple pad, enabling you to teleport to
the beginning of Entry Woods immediately. Approach the run-down fortress, view
the scene, enter.
[WIND FORTRESS - DAEMON VAULT]
Approach the north entrance and your summon creature leaves to investigate. Go
follow it.
[WIND FORTRESS - LIVING QUARTERS]
View the scene and Rocky will give you his [BROKEN WEAPON]. Go back to the
teleportation pad at the fortress entrance and warp back to the Entry Woods.
From there, use the workshop's "Repair" ability to fix the sword (and any you
might have), and make a spear [Shapestone + Charged Ore] if you can. Your rank
as a Craftknight should go up at this point, letting you Disassemble weapons.
Leave the house. Go back to the village square and talk to Tatiana, then warp
back to the Wind Fortress' Living Quarters. Talk to Rocky and give him his
sword back. You'll learn that Honanas, a cure-all herb, is found with Borzak
(a flower) to the woods nearby. If you want to rest, use the bed here.
By now you should have a sword, axe, spear, and hammer. If you don't have all
four of those, go back to the previous area and get all the shapestones that
allow you to! You better listen. :p
[FOREST OUTSKIRTS - AREA 01]
There are two men here, but neither is important. Head down and left to the
screen exit, chopping and cutting as you see fit. Pay attention to all your
weapons' DUR stat -- go back to the workshop and Repair them if you've been
killing things left and right. Buy some Bandages while you're there, too.
[FOREST OUTSKIRTS - AREA 02]
At the very south of the screen, you can find another [RARE MEDAL]. On the
eastern hill is a chest that you can't reach. Use your spear to hit it and
claim the [FIST SHAPESTONE]! There's an obvious exit to the west, but look
for one slightly north of it on the same side and exit there first.
[FOREST OUTSKIRTS - AREA 03]
There are three chests on this cliff. Open 'em to get an [ANYWHERE DIARY], a
[RUBSTONE], and a [DRILL SHAPESTONE]. If you want to leave this area to go
make a Fist/Drill, that would be pretty wise -- use Charged Ore, of course.
Go back into Area 02 and head back into Area 03 via the beaten path. There is
a blue flashing panel here that refills your HP -- thanks! Head south to a
one-tree orchard; get there using the vine. There is a hidden path to the
right through the trees, and you can travel through there to find another
[RARE MEDAL] in the clearing. Climb back up and head along the cliffside to
the right entrance. Heal up at the panel before coming, 'cause...
The boss summons Dynabeetles [100 HP] into battle via budding flowers, and it
is invunerable during that sequence. Get out your axe (good defense rating)
and start chopping at the dragon, ignoring the beetles. If you're at level
four or five, they should be doing minor single-digit damage. The dragon has
a breath attack where it rears back (guard then) and shoots purple gas, but
it's easy to guard. The Kabutos are its little spiny things in the ground,
and they will attack you by poking up -- they're pretty lame and you end up
killing them before you even know what they are. Use any Bandages if you have
trouble with this guy.
After battle, Orin and Gabriel will talk and you can move around. There are
no enemy encounters here, but if you go back to the free healing panel, there
still are...watch out. Anyway, to find the Hononas, go over to the wiggling
grass patch. After some scenes, you'll get the [HONONAS] and some people from
the past show up. Backtrack through the woods when you're done; Blaire needs
somma that junk!
Gabriel's robot mentions that there is a fort deeper in the forest, not too
far from where you found the Hononas -- that might be a clue to the Daemon
Edge's whereabouts. You can't do anything until you bring the Hononas back
home, though. Probably need to use the Workshop anyway. Teleport back to...
Take the Hononas back to Blaire's abode and watch the events. Later, Aera
and her creature will go to retire for the night, but the creature wants to
go for a walk. You'll get a prompt about going with your creature or going to
Tatiana. Pick whichever you're up to.
Come morning, a suspicious person is supposedly hanging around the village.
You'll be able to ask Tatiana to stay put or go with you, but she tags along
regardless. Your equipment should also be fully repaired! The enemies coming
up will be tougher, so upgrade one or two of your weapons with new ore: the
Leafwyrm Thorn or Aqua Ore. See below for the latter, and you can use the
Thorn you have or get some more at the fishing pond.
---------------------------
OTHER THINGS TO DO IN TOWN:
---------------------------
+ Buy from new shop inventory/create list
+ Buy Aqua Ore [300G] from salesman, if you want.
+ Find granny's cat, over by Blaire's House
+ Get free Kicker Potion from the item shop clerk
+ See upgrade fish prizes: all shapestones + Leafwyrm Thorn
+ Fight the Rampage Rabbit again and win a Heartleaf Potion

[ROARING CAVERN - AREA 01]
Save point here and the salesman/travellers from the 1st area of Forest
Outskirts are here. The know-it-all suited in yellow talks about upgrading
to increase DUR and getting special attacks. Exit to the south when you're
finished dawdling.
[ROARING CAVERN - AREA 02]
Can get some grass materials here and a new box item: Heavy Metal Ore. Get
some so you can make an Iron Bracelet later on. The Mud Boxer enemies here
drop Aqua Ore, also, so see if you can brave their high HP and get one. Make
your way right and up to exit.
[ROARING CAVERN - AREA 03]
Cut the grass and see if you can get "Fluff Grass" which cures your HP by
10. Better than a Zasso Leaf, but if you find a few, you don't have to waste
any healing spells. Head left and down the lower fork to some boxes, an auto
heal panel, and a [RARE MEDAL]. Take the upper horizontal fork to the right
wall. You'll hear a scream from an adjacent screen. Set all your monster's
magic skills (under 'Support' menu) if you haven't been doing that and exit
right.
[ROARING CAVERN - BORGRIM'S CAVE]
Orin will be here in front of a huge robot (Borgrim). When a mysterious girl
tells you it wouldn't hurt a fly, you can choose to help Orin or believe her
words. Either way, Orin talks to Nina like old friends and leaves; you don't
fight anything. Nina will want to guide you to the fortress. Choose 'yes' to
be on your merry way; choose 'no' if you have other things to do.
Leave to the right after you've accepted her help.
[ROARING CAVERN - AREA 04]
Follow Nina right through the room. You can't take detours up or down... =/
[ROARING CAVERN - AREA 06]
After the obvious comes out and you can't follow where ghosts can go, Nina
wants you to go back to the fourth area. She leaves, but you can hang around
and break some crates. I got a Heavy Metal Ore and two Bandages. o__O Go
back the way you came.
[ROARING CAVERN - AREA 04]
Go to the crossroads. Nina will be waiting in the north but you can still
explore the south.
[ROARING CAVERN - AREA 08]
Head down and go left, where you can find a stairway back north.
[ROARING CAVERN - AREA 04]
There's a chest here with a [SWORD SHAPESTONE] inside. Hooray. Break all the
crates and go back south once again.
[ROARING CAVERN - AREA 08]
Head all the way to the right and climb up the stairs to a dead end. ...Or
is it? Use a drill weapon to break the fakey wall and enter.
[ROARING CAVERN - AREA 06]
No, this isn't the exact same area of Area 06 you were just in. Take the
[RARE MEDAL] and the [AXE SHAPESTONE] chest. Leave again, and go back to
Nina.
[ROARING CAVERN - AREA 04]
Meet with Nina and follow her north.
[ROARING CAVERN - AREA 05]
Mow the lawn here and head right, but cure with items beforehand; you'll want
to save any Healing Spells your creature has. You'll see Orin all beat up and
Aera will immediately rush to his rescue against...uh, question mark guy.
o-------------------------o This guy also has a weapon, as you can see by
| BOSS: ???? | the DUR stat he has. Thus, there are two ways
| HP : 450 | to win this battle. The first requires you to
| DUR : 150 | reduce his DUR to 0, at which time you win due
| EXP : 450 | to his weapon breaking; all your weapons will
| CASH: 200 | probably end up with low DUR, too, though. So
| WIN : Beast Crest | you'll want to guard and attack. Watch out for
o-------------------------o his three-slash skills. Besides that, this guy
ain't so hard. Even with a slow axe, he got pummeled pretty well. Have fun!
NOTE: You can only win the Beast Crest by breaking his sword.
After battle, the swordsman flees and you automatically appear back home.
Pretty nice since you don't have to walk all the way back with a hammer for
a weapon. =)
Watch all the scenes and you'll have to go fetch Lynn. Repair all your stuff
and heal in bed first, though. Also consider using the Beast Crest, if you'd
gotten it, to upgrade your weapon...like usual, I upgraded my main axe. >=p
Lynn isn't at her house, but at Goura's Gate. Go there and she'll come right
away to help with the Craftknight men's fevers. She'll want you to continue
your quest, though, and you can leave afterwards to retrieve Tatiana.
OTHER THINGS TO DO:
+ Use Heavy Metal Ore to Create a "Iron Bracelet" at the Item Shop
+ Give 5+ Rare Medals to the man under the stairway and get a Beast Crest!
+ Give Rocky's Autograph to girl with Boy Who Loses Everything for an A.
Diary!
Talk to Tatiana and leave. You might also be able to get Rocky's autograph
if you haven't already, but I can't confirm it. Go back to the Outskirts
when yer done.

Gedharm flees after battle out of "respect for your abilities" and such.
Nina appears and goes to the back room. Follow her.
[WATER FORTRESS - LIVING QUARTERS]
Approach the door and Nina remembers -ANOTHER- fortress even -DEEPER- in
the forest. Geez, for dumb. You've got to go see Tatiana, so teleport back
to the Wind Fortress and get her, then go back to the village.
View some scenes and you'll turn in for the night. Sort of. Time for a
midnight walk somewhere. Options are:
o EXeLD --> Aera's Special Place
o Tatiana --> Monoshift Monument
o Gabriel --> Borzak Garden
o Lynn --> Goura's Gate
Pick whichever and the day ends. Orin comes and wants you to meet him by the
town waterfall at the dead end by the Item Shop. View the Tatiana scenes
(pick any option) and go see Blaire, if you choose. Go meet with Orin who
wants you to spar with him.
o-------------------------o Like before, Orin has a DUR stat and you can
| BOSS: Orin | win by making his weapon break. He's quick and
| HP : 600 | likes to attack-pause-attack-pause. Hit him
| DUR : 180 | during a pause to knock him off balance and
| EXP : 1750 | guard for his onslaught. Use your summoned
| CASH: 250 | creature's healing skill if he wears you down
| WIN : Boost Motor | too fast, but also remember that your hammer's
o-------------------------o DUR stat doesn't deplete, so he'll waste all of
his DUR fighting you! Like before, you only get the Boost Motor by doing a
DUR-kill on him.
After battle, Orin says he'll rest a bit before apologizing to Nina. Go
rest and repair your equipment, and you can leave town once again to drive
beyond the Water Fortress.
OTHER THINGS TO DO:
+ Get free Rubstone from item shop clerk.
+ Use the Boost Motor you won from Orin to make a "Swift" weapon.
+ Find the old lady's cat (in chief's house) and get a Kicker Potion!
+ Battle the Rampage Rabbit once again and win an Anywhere Diary from it!
+ Raise your Craftknight Rank to the next level so you can "Upgrade" equips!
Mow the grass and spruce up the spruces (:p) on either side of the cave
entrance. So straight south from the entrance and into the trees to find a
[RARE MEDAL]. Exit to the down/right path.
[LOST WOODS - AREA 03]
You can find Lugworms in the stumps around here and the Onigi's can drop
Blaze Ore, which you should consider picking up. See the big hole? Fall into
it to end up in a small section of "Lost Woods Below Ground" -- open the
chest nearby to get a [BLAZE ORE]. Get the [RARE MEDAL] half-hidden to the
right, also. Go the left exit and go up the stairs south to be back in Lost
Woods Area 02. Come back to Area 03 and steer towards the lower exit by the
pond.
[LOST WOODS - AREA 04]
This time, jump down the hole with a vengeance!
[LOST WOODS BELOW GROUND - AREA 03]
You end up in the third area because the other two are accessible only from
the other hole in the Lost Woods. Oh well; go north.
[LOST WOODS BELOW GROUND - AREA 02]
You'll see the [BLAZE ORE] chest off the ledge to your left, but you should
have already gotten it. If you REALLY need to get it, ride the waterfall
down -- you'll have to go all the way back 'round, though. Head through the
northern door, which brings you back into the Lost Woods proper.
[LOST WOODS - AREA 03]
You'll be on the other side of the pond now. Break the crates to get items
(Bandages?) and go right.
Pound the teleportation pad to get it up and running. Go inside.
[THUNDER FORTRESS - DAEMON VAULT]
A robot commands you to leave. You can comply, or scrap it! ...Well, I guess
you can't. It recognizes your character as an Edge Fencer and introduces
itself as Bruno. It also takes your [FATHER'S MEMENTO] to charge it up, at
which time the character Mono Shifts! You'll have to be tested, of course.
This time, for real...
o-------------------------o This four-legged automaton will charge at you,
| BOSS: Clock Knight | centuar-style with its lance. Guard it and get
| HP : 1000 | in your attacks, then repeat. Sometimes it will
| DUR : --- | charge through you (can still guard) to the
| EXP : 2000 | other side, then charge right back; switch the
| CASH: 200 | direction you guard in and smoke it. Since you
| WIN : Med Kit | are in Mono Shift, this is pretty easy pickins.
o-------------------------o
After battle, you'll be told you can control Mono Shift using the control
unit -- the memento. Bruno returns the memento as a [RED DAEMON GEM] and
tells Aera that it can teleport her to the Daemon Edge, but it needs four
Summonite Gems first. Apparently there are some in the back room, though...
By the way, to use the Red Daemon Gem, you must equip it onto your guardian
beast. To do this, go to its magic equip slot and pick 'Item'. Stick it on
your beast and, if your character should hit zero HP, you'll automatically
Mono Shift! Always make sure the gem is charged up, though.
[THUNDER FORTRESS - LIVING QUARTERS]
Go into the right room and inspect the sparkle. There's only one [SUMMONITE
GEM], not four... Oh well. Try to install the gem in Bruno and watch Aera's
horrible mechanical skill come to play. Bruno demands someone good with
machine install the gem; time to get Orin!
Rocky and Tatiana are here, now, and Tatiana gives you the [SUMMONITE GEM]
she got from her "crush" to aid you. Watch a funny dejection scene and your
character remembers Orin went to see Nina. Go visit him in Borgrim's Cave
and he'll agree to go. You automatically travel back to Bruno.
Orin will install the first Summonite Gem. When you can move around, hand
the second one over and head back to the Water Fortress -- that's the only
one you haven't found a gem for. Go back to the Water Fortress and talk to
Lynn, who'll give you a [SUMMONITE GEM] she found. Go back and give it to
Bruno, who tells you there is...another...fortress...beyond...a....different
forest... So typical. Exit to the north.
Take the first right and you'll see the ol' travelin', wisdom-dispensin'
salesman brothers. The man tells you that if you break an enemy's weapon in
battle, you can get ore and can make the same weapon as they had! Go into
the right screen.
[FORGOTTEN WOODS - AREA 02]
Down by the grass, you can find another [RARE MEDAL]. Double-back to the
salesman brothers' area and go north.
[FORGOTTEN WOODS - AREA 02]
There is some crates by a cave entrance and two holes in the ground. Fall
into the southeastern hole.
[FORGOTTEN WOODS BELOW GROUND - AREA 01]
The Windleon monster drops Gale Ore, so consider getting some (it looks
like a multichromatic chameleon). Exit to the south.
[FORGOTTEN WOODS BELOW GROUND - AREA 02]
Continue down and right until you find a [RARE MEDAL] in between the two
waterfalls. Go back to the first below-ground area and exit to the surface.
This time, fall in the northeasternmost hole.
[FORGOTTEN WOODS BELOW GROUND - AREA 01]
Now you'll be on a high ledge. Exit to the right.
[FORGOTTEN WOODS - AREA 02]
You'll be back in the sunny-sun-sunshine on the right of the pond where you
found the Rare Medal. Go south.
[FORGOTTEN WOODS - AREA 03]
Go south until the path curves down and right. To the north is a hole that,
when entered, drops you into the below-ground part of the woods by a chest
with a [FIST SHAPESTONE] in it. You'll have to ride the waterfall down and
exit all the way back around, though.
Leave this area to the south of the hole, anyhow.
[FORGOTTEN WOODS - AREA 04]
Rattle some trees and hopefully get a Heartleaf Berry [HP +50], then go east
to find Gabriel and Xeride. They'll go to help Bruno after you tell them the
recent events. Head ALL the way to the right to find a [SPEAR SHAPESTONE],
then exit north.
[FORGOTTEN WOODS - AREA 05]
Follow the path...
[FORGOTTEN WOODS - AREA 03]
Jump into the hole...
[FORGOTTEN WOODS BELOW GROUND - AREA 02]
Head right...
[FORGOTTEN WOODS BELOW GROUND - AREA 03]
Push the block nearest the door up and head right, then up to a [GALE ORE]
chest. Exit the room then come back in, this time pushing the far boulder
up, then crossing left and doing the same thing. Exit north.
[FORGOTTEN WOODS - AREA 05]
Follow the path to a vine, then continue north to...
Pound the teleport pad to connect it with the others. Consider going back to
town to heal up and repair your weapons before you enter the fortress. Also,
if for some reason it's been taken off, put your Healing Spell back onto the
summoned creature.
[FIRE FORTRESS - DAEMON VAULT]
There's a summoned creature here, but it ain't waiting to shake your hand...
o-------------------------o This time, you might actually have a challenge.
| BOSS: Durahan | Durahan is a behemoth fighter and carries a huge
| HP : 1280 | sword to smack you with. You can guard most of
| EXP : 2500 | its attacks while still plinking away, but when
| CASH: 250 | it raises its sword with both hands and pauses,
| WIN : Boost Motor | get out of the way! It'll do a unblockable and
o-------------------------o very damaging attack (100+). Besides that, it's
weak spot is its head, and every time you hit it, it will do 100 damage.
Repeat the jump-and-cut method to pull out a victory.
After battle, you'll be introduced to Passeau before she flees as Ryouga's
spy. Enter north with your summoned creature and enter the bedroom to get a
[SUMMONITE GEM]. Go back to Bruno.
Give Bruno the last of the gems and you'll be able to teleport off...in the
morning. Orin leaves and you'll have to go see Nina to figure out the Passeau
stuff.
Teleport to the Water Fortress and enter the tail-end of the cavern. Make
your way to Borgrim's Cave and Nina tells you that Passeau is the one who
made her a ghost, stealing her body one night in the forest. Aera vows to
capture Passeau the exchange can be unmade. ^^
Walk into your household and learn Blaire's been cursed by Goura and the only
remedy is re-sealing Goura. That night, you can take another walk to six
different locations this time:
o EXeLD ----> Aera's Secret Place
o Tatiana --> Monoshift Monument
o Gabriel --> Borzak Garden
o Lynn -----> Goura's Gate
o Orin -----> Waterfall Dead-End
o Nina -----> Borgrim's Cave
Go wherever and head upstairs in the morning. Lynn'll housesit and babysit
Blaire while Tatiana and Orin go with you.

[RUINED FACTORY B1 - AREA 01]
You'll be teleported here and Bruno stays here since he has no combat
programming. You can Transhift back to the "real world" if you really need
to. Exit north through the closed doors.
[RUINED FACTORY B1 - AREA 02]
Head north and ride the conveyor belt, exiting east.
[RUINED FACTORY B1 - AREA 03]
Ride the conveyor east, and smash the button with the hammer. Ride the
belt south to a [DRILL SHAPESTONE] and [LIGHT METAL ORE] chest. Continue
north and exit to the doorway on the platform upon which you land.
[RUINED FACTORY B2 - AREA 01]
Take the left conveyor into...
[RUINED FACTORY B2 - AREA 02]
You're deposited on a left platform with some boxes. You can get Polish
Stones from those, on occasion, as well as Light Metal Ore. Use the conveyor
to ride south once again.
[RUINED FACTORY B2 - AREA 05]
Open the two chests for [LIGHT METAL ORE] and a [RUBSTONE]. Ride the only
conveyor out back to...
[RUINED FACTORY B2 - AREA 01]
Ride the belt south once and go left.
[RUINED FACTORY B2 - AREA 03]
Use a drill on the broken black door-thing and enter.
[RUINED FACTORY B2 - AREA 02]
Get the [MED KIT] and [ANYWHERE DIARY], as well as the [RARE MEDAL] on the
right side of the room. Get back to B2 - Area 01 and ride the belts south
twice.
[RUINED FACTORY B2 - AREA 04]
Go left.
[RUINED FACTORY B2 - AREA 05]
Look for a door on the northern wall and go in.
[RUINED FACTORY B2 - AREA 03]
Approach the mech and you'll engage in a fight.
o-------------------------o This guy has high defense and a lot of HP, but
| BOSS: Grappler | its attacks can all be guarded and it moves very
| HP : 1600 | slow. You'll have to chip away at this dude, and
| EXP : 3500 | use Healing Spell every so often if you get hit
| CASH: 300 | by its multi-blasting cannon shot. EXeRD's Sigma
| WIN : Anywhere Diary | Collider can be used twice to halve its HP. Make
o-------------------------o use of Weapon Guard so your DUR doesn't deplete
off your best weapon. It'll be a long fight, so attack its head if you can
stand to getting into its immediate projectile range.
After battle, the floor breaks and you fall into...
[RUINED FACTORY - HANGAR]
Tatiana and Orin come to see if you're alright then leave. Go to the right,
since the left door is locked (not in this screen).
[RUINED FACTORY B3 - AREA 01]
Go up the stairs...
[RUINED FACTORY B2 - AREA 03]
Heal up here then go back downstairs [B3 - AREA 01], going right to the
stairway beside yours.
[RUINED FACTORY B4 - AREA 01]
Take the leftmost (vertical) conveyor belt to a crate platform, then find
the bridging path down and right to a [RUBSTONE] chest and a [RARE MEDAL].
Push the button nearby (w/ hammer) and ride back to the initial platform
by the door. To get the conveyors back in order, ride all the way to the
right wall of the screen and flip the button, then ride back.
Take the rightmost (vertical) conveyor belt to a platform and hammer the
button to reverse all directions. Go right to another platform, then walk
up and rob the [FULGUR HORN] chest. Ride the conveyor left to the initial
platform.
Finally, you can beat it out of this dang room. Take the middle (vertical)
conveyor to a platform and continue right to a button. Press it, go south
and exit.
[RUINED FACTORY B4 - AREA 02]
Use the healing panel and use a drill on the broken door.
[RUINED FACTORY B4 - AREA 03]
Approach the floating sword to get the [JINRAI BLADE]. Ryouga shows up with
your old friend, the Black Swordsman, whom he makes fight you.
o-------------------------o This guy has a scimitar-type sword now and has
| BOSS: Black Swordsman | attacks that do a lot of damage, particularly
| HP : 950 | his triple-slashing skill. You can rough it and
| DUR : 200 | attack normally, or you can do a DUR-kill on him.
| EXP : 4000 | Never let your HP fall below 150, as he has a
| CASH: 300 | wind attack that takes 160 off in 30-dmg chunks.
| WIN : Beast King Crest | When his sword breaks, you'll get a Beast King
o-------------------------o Crest; until then, use Healing Spell when he
lets up to power-up his weapon or simply backs away.
After battle, the swordsman and Ryouga leave and you can leave, too. Walk
all the way out or use your creature's Escape skill.
[RUINED FACTORY B1 - AREA 01]
Tell Bruno you're heading back, and when you arrive at the Thunder Fortress,
Bruno tells you that there are in fact FOUR Daemon Edges. Makes sense, since
there are four empty fortress vaults. Go back to town.
Arrive back at your house and after some scenes, Aera will hide the Jinrai
Blade. You can once again go for a late-night walk to wherever.
o EXeLD ----> Aera's Secret Place
o Tatiana --> Monoshift Monument
o Gabriel --> Borzak Garden
o Lynn -----> Goura's Gate
o Orin -----> Waterfall Dead-End
o Nina -----> Borgrim's Cave
The next morning, go upstairs to find out there's a stranger on the prowl
around the village entrance. Head towards the town exit and you'll see a
scene with Toumei in the village square. Go back to the Entry Woods to see
OTHER THINGS TO DO:
+ Get free Whetstone from item shop clerk
+ Talk to curry-making housewife to get some Wheatgrass Juice.
+ Give Wheatgrass Juice to gatekeeper and get some Seafood Soup.
+ Get 400B from blue-haired man by item shop by choosing 'Nope.'
+ Battle the Rampage Rabbit a fifth time and win another Anywhere Diary
+ Buy Gourmet Clams (fish bait) for 500B at the creature in Water Fortress
+ Pay 800B to F. Fortress salesman to get some information and a Boost Motor
After the funny scene, read the black plaque to learn that pressing switches
makes platforms rise from the water. You could have guessed that already, I
wager. Go right.
[SUBTERRANEAN BAY - AREA 02]
You'll meet Sarin the merwoman here. She says there's supposed to be a sword
here along with "something else," and she swims away when someone asks just
what that something is. Go right again.
[SUBTERRANEAN BAY - AREA 03]
Some grass here, which you can get Shrimp, Lobster, Shiny Rock Salt, and
Gourmet Clams (along with generic items you can get elsewhere). The crates
can leave behind Kicker Potions, Sandstone Ore, and Bouillon from. Continue
right.
[SUBTERRANEAN BAY - AREA 04]
You'll be introduced to a second NPC character, the captain/treasure hunter
extraordinaire...Byron! Press the button nearby to hear him say he's looking
for the exact same treasure you are...then he leaves. The treasure chest by
where Byron was is empty, so continue on the right path until it exits to
the north.
[SUBTERRANEAN BAY - AREA 05]
There are three buttons here, side by side. Press the green one and follow
the screen up to Area 06, and get the [SANDSTONE ORE]. Go back to the last
area and press the blue switch. Use the platforms to get north.
[SUBTERRANEAN BAY - AREA 06]
Before you continue to the far north, go left and exit on the south path.
[SUBTERRANEAN BAY - AREA 07]
Some crates and grass as you continue left and up.
[SUBTERRANEAN BAY - AREA 08]
Get the chests for a [HEARTLEAF POTION] and [RUBSTONE]. You can also see a
Rare Medal at the north part but can't get to it yet. Continue back to Area
06.
[SUBTERRANEAN BAY - AREA 06]
This time, take western exit. Don't approach north yet!
[SUBTERRANEAN BAY - AREA 08]
Get the [RARE MEDAL] and backtrack.
[SUBTERRANEAN BAY - AREA 06]
NOW you may go north. An Aqua Element is blocking the passage through and
won't let you through unless you talk sexy to him. Since Aera can't do such
a simple task, you'll need to go back to Lynn.
Escape out and go back to the Thunder Fortress, where Lynn will arrive and
want you to take her to the creature to demonstrate her sexiness. Might as
well heal up and repair your stuff in the village before you return to Area
06 once again.
Tell the Aqua Element you want to ask it again and Lynn infatuates it, then
dumps it. With a fury like no water creature has ever shown, it must attack
you...! Stupid pacifist.
o-------------------------o
| BOSS: Aqua Element | Use fire-type skills and weapons, and expend any
| HP : 2000 | attacks you have (Sigma Collider, etc.) that can
| DUR : --- | waste some of his 2000 HP. If you're going from
| EXP : 5700 | the pure physical side, move in close so its
| CASH: 350 | water geyser skill misses you completely, then
| WIN : Vortex Crab Claw | make sure to block during its spear thrust. I
o-------------------------o won by completely spamming Sigma Collider with
a few physical attacks thrown in the mix (I'm using EXeLD, remember).
After you've trounced the fishy-face, head north to the healing panel and
hang a left.
[SUBTERRANEAN BAY - AREA 08]
Head left, pardner.
[SUBTERRANEAN BAY - AREA 09]
You can fight Elewater enemies here which drop Vortex Craw Claws. Get some!
Hit the green button and make your way across the floating blocks to another
platform with three more (similar) switches. Keep going to enter Area 10,
where you can get another [SANDSTONE ORE] chest. Go back to the second set
of buttons.
Press the green one and loop right to a chest -- spear it to get an
[ANYWHERE DIARY]. Go back and press the pink button, then continue right
(blue button leads to crates).
[SUBTERRANEAN BAY - AREA 10]
Head left to exit. You can also get to the southern part of this area by
pressing the blue switch in Area 09 and taking a lower path to some crates.
[SUBTERRANEAN BAY - AREA 11]
Go left.
[SUBTERRANEAN BAY - AREA 12]
Mizuchi floats here, but Sarin tells you need to find an Opaline Stone to
break its seal. Byron comes in drag and overhears, thus giving you another
rival to get the stone which, by the way, is guarded by a big enemy with
claws. It's in a seashell-decorated pouch, apparently...
Go left.
[SUBTERRANEAN BAY - AREA 13]
Go north to find Passeau in a bikini. She runs away after announcing her
intentions to steal the Mizuchi and Ryouga's heart. What a putz! <3
Tail her north.
[SUBTERRANEAN BAY - AREA 14]
Press the pink button and follow it right to a [RARE MEDAL] and [SWORD
SHAPESTONE] chest. Go back and press the green button to have the eastern
path continue further. Press the blue button by the east edge of the screen,
then follow it north and west. Go past the north exit and get the treasure
chest with a [RUBSTONE] in it. Exit to the top.
[SUBTERRANEAN BAY - AREA 15]
Byron will be panting nearby, and Passeau flees when she sees the gigantor
claws (with mouths o_o) that the lobsterosity has. You'll be thrown into a
battle against...
o-------------------------o
| BOSS: Lobsta Dragon | Weaken this thing with your main offensive
| HP : 3000 | attacks (Sigma Collider for me) and guard its
| EXP : 6700 | mouth-lunging attack which can do a little less
| CASH: 400 | than 100 damage (hopefully). Guard and attack
| WIN : Hard Shell | to victory, like usual.
o-------------------------o
After battle, you find the [OPALINE STONE] underneath the baddie. You'll
automatically go back to the twelvth area and get the [MIZUCHI BLADE].
Sarin transforms, Byron gets lovestruck, blahblahblah... Escape outta this
damp dungeon.
[SUBTERRANEAN BAY - AREA 01]
Talk to Bruno and Transhift back to the Thunder Fortress, then go back to
the village.
Everyone welcomes you back, you hide the Mizuchi under your bed, and can go
for a walk once again.
o EXeLD ----> Aera's Secret Place
o Tatiana --> Monoshift Monument
o Gabriel --> Borzak Garden
o Lynn -----> Goura's Gate
o Orin -----> Waterfall Dead-End
o Nina -----> Borgrim's Cave
The next morning, an "explosion" knocks Aera down and the swords stashed
'neath her bed resonate. Something wrong with Goura's Seal? Go look, and you
will want to go look at Borgrim. Head back into town and Rocky/Kara will ask
you to check in on the summons in the Wind Fortress.
OTHER THINGS TO DO:
+ Get free Repellant Amulet from item shop clerk
+ Try to go up in Craftknight Rank, to Upgrade weapons twice!
+ Buy a 'Diffusion Device' for 500 boam from traveling salesman
+ Find the old lady's lost kat (in town square) to get a Whetstone
+ Give Kitty Badge to girl crushing on Orin for an Anywhere Diary!

+ Buy info at F. Fortress [1000B] to get a Diffusion Device and information
on a "Fast 3 Hit Combo" for swords and knuckles.
Go to Borgrim's Cave when you're done (I'll summarize the mini-pitstops:)
[ROARING CAVERN - BORGRIM'S CAVE]
Borgrim seems to be the source of the earthquakes, and Gedharm shows up just
to make the steel beast angrier before leaving. Your summoned creature gets
the bright idea to find the steel mech from the Ruined Factory to keep this
hunkajunk in line. You'll need to go back to town.
[CLIFF VILLAGE - GATE OF GOURA]
Orin and Tatiana will head to the Thunder Fortress, so head over there.
Head north and ride the conveyor belt, exiting east.
[RUINED FACTORY B1 - AREA 03]
Ride the conveyor east and exit north.
[RUINED FACTORY B2 - AREA 01]
Ride the belt south twice.
[RUINED FACTORY B2 - AREA 04]
Go left.
[RUINED FACTORY B2 - AREA 05]
Look for a door on the northern wall and go in.
[RUINED FACTORY B2 - AREA 03]
Fall into the hole once again to land in...
[RUINED FACTORY - HANGAR]
Orin wants you to get some parts for GUNVALD, the huge super-mech that's
in this room. The part is found in level six of the underground. Head left.
[RUINED FACTORY B3 - AREA 02]
Enter the door Xeride unlocked and go through the little space to the stair.
[RUINED FACTORY B5 - AREA 01]
New enemies show up here, now, namely the former boss Cattan. Go right.
[RUINED FACTORY B5 - AREA 03]
Take the [AXE SHAPESTONE] and go back the way you came [to: Area 01], then
continue south.
[RUINED FACTORY B5 - AREA 02]
Follow the walkway until you get to some crates -- you can get Adaman Ore
from these. Use your drill weapon to destroy the wall, then continue through
it.
[RUINED FACTORY B5 - AREA 03]
Conveyor to the left that takes you back to the area at the bottom of the
stairway. Go northeast and find the exit.
[RUINED FACTORY B6 - AREA 01]
You can encounter another ex-boss, Grappler, here as a regular enemy. It
drops Diffusion Devices, should you need to get some. Remember: attack its
metal cranium to kick out the easy wins. Titanpers, another new enemy, are
found here, too.
At the end of the platform are three conveyors going in the same direction.
Take the rightmost one first.
[RUINED FACTORY B6 - AREA 02]
You'll be on the extreme right side of the conveyors. Follow the path to a
wall you can break down with a drill. Enter.
[RUINED FACTORY B6 - AREA 01]
Open the [ANYWHERE DIARY] and [ADAMAN ORE] chests, then get the [RARE MEDAL]
to the right of the room. Deja vu! Exit.
[RUINED FACTORY B6 - AREA 02]
Smash the button and ride back the way you came on the conveyor.
[RUINED FACTORY B6 - AREA 01]
Flip the switch to return the belts to their initial state. Take the middle
one this time around.
[RUINED FACTORY B6 - AREA 02]
This time, head down and right.
[RUINED FACTORY B6 - AREA 03]
Follow the path to a dead end with some crates and another [RARE MEDAL].
Hit the switch and use the conveyor to get back to the first area.
[RUINED FACTORY B6 - AREA 01]
Hit the switch a last time and go down the left path.
[RUINED FACTORY B6 - AREA 02]
Follow the path left to the conveyor twist-up you are familiar with; you'll
be sent downwards.
[RUINED FACTORY B6 - AREA 03]
Head left and out.
[RUINED FACTORY B6 - AREA 04]
Heal yourselves and your DUR if you need to and continue down the path to a
north bend. 'Course, nothing can EVER go smoothly 'round here...
o-------------------------o
| BOSS: Scanner Eye | Not that hard, although you'll probably want to
| HP : 3200 | save your summon creature for any healing spells
| EXP : 7200 | you'll probably have to cast. When it raises its
| CASH: 450 | fist, it will pound the ground and attack you.
| WIN : Med Kit | Get skyborne when it pounds and you can avoid
o-------------------------o the damage completely. It's kind of a broken-
-record monster, which we can all be thankful for. You...do remember how to
guard, right? :p
You receive the [MECH CORE PARTS] after battle. Backtrack to the mech; it's
elementary legwork, really.
[RUINED FACTORY - HANGAR]
Deliver the parts and Orin will want you to check up on Toumei, saying he'll
bring the big metal clunker to Borgrim's cozy cave when he's done. Escape
outta here and warp back to town.
Toumei will say you need to make a talisman to capture Borgrim's possessor,
but since only he can do it, a sword will have to suffice. The old fisherman
has Anti-Demon Ore which you'll have to use to craft a sword (no other weap,
folks), which will in turn be used for the enchantment. Toumei relocates to
the fisherman pond hereafter.
Well...if you don't like the fishing mini-game, too bad -- you'll have to do
it for 350 points worth to get the ore. To expedite the process, use some
high-quality bait like Red Shrimp, Lobster, or Gourmet Clams. To do this
game, you know how to play and although the game tells you, I will to:
1) Select the bait you'll use for the entire session.
2) The power gauge fills up (left -> right), with its beginning being the
lowest point and the rightmost being the farthest. Set a line by gauging
the power and casting off into the shallows or deep water.
3) When the game tells you "FISH ON," press the A button to start reeling in
4) The power gauge fills up again, now. You want to stop the gauge at high
points as much as you can to reel the fish into your basket (Max: 5).
5) Repeat.
Once you have 350 points, exchange it for the Anti-Demon Ore. Use a Sword
Shapestone to make a Diabolic Cutlass, then go back to Toumei. He'll turn the
sword into an [EXORCISE BLADE]. Leave town to hear another quake. Warp back
to the Water Fortress and enter the Roaring Cavern from there, going back to
Borgrim's Cave.
Enter to find Borgrim escaping out of the cave. Gedharm tells you that your
friends won't be coming, but he's wrong and you can get inside Gunvald. Some
scenes play out and you'll be using the giant mech to battle Borgrim!
o-------------------------o Gunvald only has 9000 HP, but this shouldn't be
| BOSS: Borgrim | too long of a fight. Use the Gunvald Laser skill
| HP : 32000 | to rip Borgrim a new one, halving his life and
| EXP : --- | then some. Gunvald's normal attacks consist of a
| CASH: --- | slow punch, a rapid-fire machine gun attack, and
| WIN : --- | projectile missiles -- they're at your normal
o-------------------------o weapon attack combinations. As long as you guard
most of Borgrim's attacks, you can squeak this one out with a little effort.
Back in the cavern, Aera'll be facing Gedharm's creature!
o-------------------------o
| BOSS: Blade Wing | This is an aerial-type monster, so you'll have
| HP : 3400 | to do upward swings and jumps to do the most
| EXP : 7700 | damage. Use multi-hitting skills like Sigma
| CASH: 500 | Collider to cut into it, and make sure to guard
| WIN : Anywhere Diary | when it does its dashing attack -- you'll know
o-------------------------o it's about to do it because its body disappears
off the screen for the most part -- it can do 100+ damage, so make sure you
have some Healing Spells in you. If you trail it pretty well, you can make
sure you avoid the dashing skills by being directly under it when it flies
up.
Afterwards, the spirit is cleansed from Borgrim, but the Exorcise Blade will
break. Borgrim falls over, stone-cold......tired. Ryouga and Passeau arrive
afterwards, destroying Gunvald. Oh well. Back to town...
o EXeLD ----> Aera's Secret Place
o Tatiana --> Monoshift Monument
o Gabriel --> Borzak Garden
o Lynn -----> Goura's Gate
o Orin -----> Waterfall Dead-End
o Nina -----> Borgrim's Cave
The next morning, Aera wants to thank Toumei for his crazy spell-castin'.
Orin says he's at the gate, so head over there. Aera suggests that he make a
spell to get Passeau out of Nina's body. Walk around town afterwards, ready
to hit up some more Daemon Edges.
OTHER THINGS TO DO:
+ Buy Wyvern Claw from salesman for 550 boam
+ Find old lady's cat (in Lynn's house) and get some Seafood Soup
+ Battle the Rampage Rabbit a seventh time and win an Anywhere Diary
+ Buy info at Fire Fortress [1200B] and get two Beast Crests to compound!
+ Find the kid's lost stuff (in front of cat lady's house) and get A. Diary
Aera tells Nina the news about Passeau's possible exorcision, then they go
on the hunt. Talk to Bruno to learn that the next Edge is "Kuuga." Transhift
to the new location and you'll be thrown into...
Bruno lands here. Read the monolith to get a tip about sliding on the ice:
going diagonal lets you slide along the destination wall. Get southbound!
[GLACIER GORGE - AREA 02]
The crates here give up Clean Paper and Crystal, both new materials to you.
Get southbound again.
[GLACIER GORGE - AREA 03]
You'll run into two children here who call you evil summoners and flee.
Sounds like your enemies are here ahead of you. Exit down and right.
[GLACIER GORGE - AREA 04]
There's a huge ice slick here, so you'll have to practice your slippin' and
slidin'. From the upper-left corner of the slick, slide southeast and you'll
land on a small patch of land in the sea of ice. Run northeast and make your
way right out of the screen.
[GLACIER GORGE - AREA 05]
This is a dead end with a [CRYSTAL] chest. Get the [RARE MEDAL] there,
also.
Go back to the slick and exit out any of the two other ways, back to this
area. There are some trees in the north that you can get new items from,
being the Burgunberry and Algor Tree Sap. Burgunberries are HP +100
curative items, so try to get a few if you get in a bind.
Try to exit through the right exit to you'll be prompted if you hear a man
or a woman's voice. Unlike other questions, this one changes the gender of
the person you encounter in the next screen...one of 'em, at least. I
suggest picking the girl's voice since the boss you fight afterwards is a
little easier due to a low DUR rating. Make sure you come into battle with
a fully-healed character!
[GLACIER GORGE - AREA 06]
Approach the crystal and you'll have a question-off with the three-party
crew of summoners. When you take one step forward, they think you're about
to attack them and another fight of senseless violence ensues... Whichever
gender you said you heard, that's the one you fight.
o-------------------------o
| BOSS: ??? | This fight is just like the one below, except
| HP : 1500 | the man has a higher DUR rating but it doesn't
| DUR : 250 | regenerate. This guy doesn't really let up,
| EXP : 4600 | either, so try to stay towards the middle of
| CASH: 350 | the field so you might be able to jump back
| WIN : Hero's Badge | and heal yourself if you need to. Again, go
o-------------------------o for the DUR-kill rather than the HP one, 'cause
you'll end up getting a Hero's Badge material.
Keep your HP as high as you can, because it can summon its own guardian
beast and take off 300+ damage. You should be able to use a Healing Spell
right after it's summoned, which might be your best opening you'll get.
Bait him into attacking with his double slash skill, then guard at the
last second so only one of them affects your DUR -- this makes you pull
even and his DUR drops faster.
==== OR ====
o-------------------------o
| BOSS: ??? | A human opponent, yay! Unfortunately, this human
| HP : 1400 | has a weapon with DUR regeneration, so it'll be
| DUR : 150 | awhile before you can whittle it down and get a
| EXP : 4600 | DUR-kill. This person has an onslaught, so if
| CASH: 350 | you get stuck in a corner, you'll have to get a
| WIN : Mark of Courage | nice taste of the sword's flurry. Cast Weapon
o-------------------------o Guard at your first change and make the missus
put herself on the road to ruin. Like usual, you
only get the drop if you do a DUR-kill. This is definitely one battle where
it pays to have the enemy bash itself to death against your iron curtain!
After whichever battle you fight, everyone settles the differences and
decides no one is evil and no one is going to attack the other (again). They
leave once the discussion's over and you can as well. If your weapons are
in a sorry state, don't hesistate to use items or go back to the workshop
and repair everything (it will give you a chance to use your new items!).
When you're prepared, exit right.
[GLACIER GORGE - AREA 07]
Another huge ice slick here, but this one is easier. From the top lefthand
corner on the side you start, go straight east and you'll stop at boxes in
the middle. Go north and east again to get on dry land with some grass.
From the eastern side of the little piece of land, head due south and end
up at another small piece. Head east to the exit.
[GLACIER GORGE - AREA 08]
You can fight Elewind enemies here, but they have a tendency to escape 'fore
you can kill them. Use a special attack move to seal the deal, as they drop
Wyvern Claws you'd probably not get otherwise.
Pick the tree items and mow the grass, then go towards the icy pond. Once
again from the top of the side nearest you, head due east to find a stretch
of land on the east wall. Go north to the top of the land and run northwest,
making you slide to the boxes by the exit.
[GLACIER GORGE - AREA 09]
Go north to meet the two children who ran away from you, one of them being a
member of the summoner party you had saw previously. Some Lycaons attack and
you have to defeat them -- they're just two regular enemies you can run into
in Glacier Gorge, so you should have no problem.
Afterwards, backtrack to Area 06 and the kid's brother will take the child
away. Come back to Area 09 and head north.
[GLACIER GORGE - AREA 10]
Another pond here. Head north and try to steer yourself just right of the
center, so you land in one of the four paths with barrels. Break through 'em
and continue north.
[GLACIER GORGE - AREA 11]
There are three chests here, with an [ANYWHERE DIARY], a [SPEAR SHAPESTONE],
and a [HEARTLEAF POTION] for you. Go back to the pond and take the route via
the easternmost path.
[GLACIER GORGE - AREA 12]
You'll come into a u-bend with nothing but stumps, trees, and a [RARE MEDAL]
to claim. Get it, go back to the pond, and take the westernmost route up to
the north, back into a different portion of Area 12. Go north and east to
exit.
[GLACIER GORGE - AREA 13]
Continue southwest and your character will sense the Kuuga nearby. Heal up
and equip any fire-type weapons you might have. Exit north.
[GLACIER GORGE - AREA 14]
Gedharm and Passeau are here, about to take the sword. The summoned creature
wants to show you just how well SHE can summon. Laff.
o-------------------------o Waste some attack skills, particularly any of
| BOSS: Ice Golem | those that are fire-elemental, on this guy to
| HP : 4500 | deplete his HP with a vengeance. Stay out of
| DUR : --- | his way when he floats upwards and drops because
| EXP : 10000 | his butt-pound can do 300+ damage! You can guard
| CASH: 550 | most of his other attacks pretty well, as they
| WIN : Med Kit | don't do much damage. The trick is to stay very
o-------------------------o close to him so his icicle drop skill misses you
completely and you can quickly get on either side of him when he floats up
to smush you. Not that hard, considering his physical attacks are able to
be blocked completely, but do watch out for his butt drop...it hurts. =(
After battle, Gedharm tries to smite you with another summon but a crystal
behind him reacts and the area gets tremulant. The [KUUGA BLADE] is yours
and the children from before give you a "sweet" reward. Teleport back to
Bruno and Transhift outta here, headin' back to the village.

[CLIFF VILLAGE - MASTER'S HOUSE]
After a few scenes, it's time for another moonlight walk.
o EXeLD ----> Aera's Secret Place
o Tatiana --> Monoshift Monument
o Gabriel --> Borzak Garden <---------[Recommended]
o Lynn -----> Goura's Gate
o Orin -----> Waterfall Dead-End
o Nina -----> Borgrim's Cave
Come sun-up, go upstairs to hear that Gabriel's been injured or something on
the edge of town.
THINGS TO DO BEFORE YOU LEAVE:
+ Buy a Dragon Ring from salesman for 600 (!!!!!!!!) boam
+ Get Mild Spices from salesman inside the Water Fortress
+ Find kid's lost stuff (right of house by bridge) and get a Med Kit
+ Get the new fishing prizes: the Hero's Badge and the Mark of Courage
+ Fight the Rampage Rabbit an eighth time and receive...another Med Kit!
+ Find the granny's lost cat in the chief's house and receive a Lure Charm
+ Pay 1400 boam to Fire Fortress man to learn secret technique about using 2
Vortex Crab Claws in an upgrade to get a Spinning Attack; you also get 2
claws as well!
---
Exit into the Entry Woods to find Gabriel and his Breeze Bridgade crew down
there. Apparently, Passeau injured both him and Xeride in the Borzak garden.
Head over there.
Passeau and Nina are here, and the li'l witch summons...Death to fight you!
o-------------------------o
| BOSS: Death | This guy isn't messing around. His scythe swing
| HP : 5200 | can be blocked pretty easily, but he opens some
| DUR : --- | kind of portal that hits you seven or eight
| EXP : 12000 | times for medium damage. Stick as close to him
| CASH: 600 | as you can (like, rub shoulders), attack, guard,
| WIN : Demon Horn | etc. Don't bother with your summoned creature's
o-------------------------o attacks -- you'll have to rough it and save all
those summons for the healing spells you'll probably end up needing. Don't
even have to Mono Shift!
After you've won, head back to the village to make sure the Daemon Edges
are still hidden there!
[CLIFF VILLAGE - MASTER'S HOUSE]
There's an oddly chilly receptions from all the villagers now. Head back home
and you'll be indicted with helping to revive Goura and the Black Swordsman's
stolen all three Edges you've collected. Apparently, he said you would be
able to explain... Everyone hates you at the moment, so it's time to go back
and retrieve those suckers. Go back to the Bolzak Garden after you've taken
advantage of the workshop -- at least it doesn't hate you! In fact, think
about making a weapon made out of a Mark of Courage, now that you can get a
few through the fishing mini-game.
[FOREST OUTSKIRTS - AREA 04]
Climb down the vine to speak with the Black Swordsman. Tell him you're
fighting to seal Goura or to prove yourself innocent; either way, you'll be
forced to fight this ditz one last time.
o-------------------------o
| BOSS: Black Swordsman | He's not that different from before, except the
| HP : 1650 | DUR rating and a new multi-hitting wind move. It
| DUR : --- | isn't as great as Death's multi-hitting move but
| EXP : 6000 | can take a few hundred HP off if you're not
| CASH: 400 | prepared. As usual, try for the DUR-kill so you
| WIN : Lion's Crest | can win a Lion's Crest material from its sword.
o-------------------------o
Afterwards, the helmet comes off and you can see the swordsman for who he
really is..he's--...nah, I won't spoil it. You receive [TATIANA'S SWEETS]
before the swordsman leaves. There's supposed to be an ambush deeper into the
forest... Go south from where the Black Swordsman was to enter...
On the ledge where you are, find the breakable wall and drill it to enter.
[VANISHING FOREST BELOW GROUND - AREA 02]
Take the [ANYWHERE DIARY] and [HEARTLEAF POTION]. Exit.
[VANISHING FOREST BELOW GROUND - AREA 01]
Go down the ladder and exit right past the waterfall.
[VANISHING FOREST BELOW GROUND - AREA 03]
Continue right.
[VANISHING FOREST BELOW GROUND - AREA 04]
Open the [WHETSTONE] chest and leave to Area 03, heading south this time.
[VANISHING FOREST BELOW GROUND - AREA 05]
Head all the way left and drill through the feeble wall part.
[VANISHING FOREST BELOW GROUND - AREA 08]
Open the two chests here for a [MED KIT] and [RUBSTONE]. The [RARE MEDAL] in
the northeast corner needs to be taken, too, before you exit back to the
surface (i.e. daylight). There's nothing else here.
[VANISHING FOREST - AREA 01]
Go right.
[VANISHING FOREST - AREA 02]
Exit to the south.
[VANISHING FOREST - AREA 03]
Continue down the path to some grasses you can cut. Go up through the trees
and take the [RARE MEDAL] before moving east again (don't go in the hole).
[VANISHING FOREST - AREA 04]
There are two holes here. DO NOT GO INTO THE ONE IN THE VERY NORTH -- it
drops you by the Whetstone chest in the farthest corner of the underground,
and you were just there. Instead, find the path through the trees to the 2nd
hole and jump in that.
[VANISHING FOREST BELOW GROUND - AREA 04]
You'll be on the upper ledge now. Exit along the path, going left.
[VANISHING FOREST BELOW GROUND - AREA 03]
On the upper ledge, keep going left.
[VANISHING FOREST BELOW GROUND - AREA 02]
Drill the breakable wall and enter.
[VANISHING FOREST BELOW GROUND - AREA 05]
Take the [FIST SHAPESTONE] out of the chest. Exit right.
[VANISHING FOREST BELOW GROUND - AREA 06]
Exit up the stairway.
[VANISHING FOREST - AREA 05]
Exit left along the pond.
[VANISHING FOREST - AREA 04]
Go up... :p
[VANISHING FOREST - AREA 06]
Heal up before you go up the vine, 'cause Gedharm's put your brother under
a spell and he'll have to fight you!
o-------------------------o
| BOSS: Orin | Attack and guard at him, trying to block his
| HP : 1700 | drill attacks. He usually attacks one at a time,
| DUR : 250 | but he has a drill thrust attack that deals some
| EXP : 6500 | multiple damage (but usually low). Guard his
| CASH: 450 | normal attacks and try to get a DUR-kill, in
| WIN : Machinery Scroll | order to receive the Machinery Scroll.
o-------------------------o His DUR decreases with each attack he takes, so
lead off with a weapon you don't use if you're just guarding. He does use
his summon creature Rygar in battle to do some electrocution-type damage,
but it's not in the league with Death or Black Swordsman's multi-hit sklls.
After battle, Aera thinks quickly and gives Orin Tatiana's Sweets so he can't
be put under Gedharm's spell again. Orin atacks Gedharm and retrieves all of
the Daemon Edges (YAY), but Gedharm attacks with...
o-------------------------o
| BOSS: Gedharm Gunner | Two bosses at once this time around, and you'll
| BOSS: Gedharm | be unable to heal your DUR but get to have all
| HP : 1500, 1700 | six summons left! Gedharm will summon another
| DUR : 265 | Gunner to fight you, so you'll have to go for
| EXP : 7300 | him and him alone. Use your strongest summoned
| CASH: 600 | creature attacks to attack Gedharm when he's
| WIN : Machinery Scroll | running around (Mono Shift if you have to), and
o-------------------------o once he's defeated, the battle ends. If you can
pull out a DUR-kill, you'll get another Machinery Scroll.
After battle, Gedharm gets scared off by his ex-partner and you can go back
to town. Escape out.

[ONI HOT SPRINGS - AREA 08]
Kekekeke...Aera is accused of being a voyeur to a brother and sister bathing

o-------------------------o
| BOSS: Kuuya | These ninja both have weapons, so cast Weapon
| BOSS: Kohina | Guard (if you have it) and go for a DUR-kill,
| HP : 1750, 1700 | if you can help it. They attack fast and two at
| DUR : 150, 130 | a time, so you'll probably have a hard time
| EXP : 7500 | knocking them off-balance in time to heal up.
| CASH: 500 | Luckily, each has low DUR. Watch out because one
| WIN : Ninja Scroll I | can cast a spell like Aqua Tornado! Each has a
| WIN : Ninja Scroll II | different weapon when DUR-feated: Kuuya has the
o-------------------------o Ninja Scroll I, Kohina the other.
You'll learn both these guys have been cursed by something and the springs
contain healing properties. You'll also learn they've been cursed by the big
monster that blocks the last Daemon Edge -- zing! Heal up your weapons' DUR
and use the auto-heal panel nearby before leaving.
[ONI HOT SPRINGS - AREA 09]
Make your way east through the steam and look for a north alley that leads
to a geyser enclosed by grass. Pound it to air out the room, then exit to
the east, on the road you were on when you came in.
---
Vic S writes: "left of the poundable geyser, there should be a rubstone and
med kit." I (the author) haven't corroborated this but I'll run with it; if
it's incorrect, e-mail me.
[ONI HOT SPRINGS - AREA 10]
Follow the steamy path up to the stairs, then take an immediate right. Go
down the stairs there and look to the east for a geyser to hammer. Continue
south to the dead-end and find the [RARE MEDAL]. Go back up the stairs and
go east to another dead end, with a [DRILL SHAPESTONE] chest. To exit, go
north of the first stairs you encountered in this room.
[ONI HOT SPRINGS - AREA 11]
Go north to a treasure chest enclosed by crates and get a [HARDBOILED EGG].
Exit's to the north.
[ONI HOT SPRINGS - AREA 12]
Continue up the foggy room to the stairs, then take a right down the other
staircase. Pound the geyser to regain some visibility. Go to the large falls
nearby and ride down it, opening the [ANYWHERE DIARY] chest at the foot.
Keep on keepin' on south.
[ONI HOT SPRINGS - AREA 13]
Go south to the pond and exit left of it.
[ONI HOT SPRINGS - AREA 14]

| HP : 6700 | a uppercut attack and a bead-slinging one, both
| DUR : --- | of which you can block if you've got quick
| EXP : 16000 | fingers. Each of his attacks can do more than

| WIN : Kishin Horn | creature quota on offensive spells. Also, if he
o-------------------------o starts to swing his beads, you can interrupt it
with an attack. Its third attack is some kind of prayer that makes spirits
spiral down from above and attack you for decent damage. Never let your HP
go below 400 if you want a fighting chance.
After battle you automatically appear back in Area 08 and don't have the
Daemon Edge yet. Heal up at the panel and backtrack, just make sure you have
your DUR refilled by Area 15.
[ONI HOT SPRINGS - AREA 16]

you and detains the evil creature, but you have to fight your ex-friend...
Aww, who cares? DIE!!!
o-------------------------o
| BOSS: Ryouga | Ryouga's claws heal up, so this might be a hard

| DUR : 150 | Each time you attack Ryouga physically, he seems
| EXP : 8000 | to start blocking, so if you need to heal, do it
| CASH: 550 | at that time. It's pretty easy to attack him to
| WIN : Kishin Horn | make him block then wait a few seconds and do
o-------------------------o the same thing just as he's coming out of it.
When you defeat Ryouga, he hits you to make the Daemon Edge fall out. But,
your friend who cut down Ryouga before picks it up and all hell breaks loose
when Aera Mono Shifts. Your two ninja friends save you and carry you back to

is very short, so do the following in-town activities before you continue:
+ Talk to the kid by the middle bridge to get a Tablecloth
+ Buy a Mongor Bracer for 1500B from the salesman on the bridge

Toumei and Passeau. A loud scream is heard as you try to leave. Continue out
of the room and keep going east to find him by some waterfalls. He'll make
you a spell if you bring him a sword, then leaves for the fisherman's lake in
town. Your summoned creature remembers something about a lobster claw...that
will be the base material!
You can find Vortex Crab Claws in Subterranean Bay, as they're dropped by the
Elewater enemies. Or, you might have some left over.
Once you have a Vortex Crab Claw, use it with a blank Sword Shapestone and
create a [VORTEX SWORD]. Go to Toumei at the fisherman's lake and he'll turn
the sword into a [SUPER EXORCISM] blade. What a goofus. Heal up and repair
your stuff, then exit town. Xeride will teleport you to...
Enter into the living quarters to find Passeau and she'll lock horns with
you, bringing a friend along!
o-------------------------o
| BOSS: Passeau | This battle is pretty "easy" by most standards,
| BOSS: Bone Knight | but Passeau commands the highest DUR rating you
| HP : 1500, 1200 | have seen yet, and she can re-summon the Bone
| DUR : 270 | Knight when it's defeated. Typical hijinx...
| EXP : 8800 | It's also hard to simply just let yourself wear
| CASH: 700 | down her weapon since the skeletor guy will
| WIN : Tyrant Soulstone | careen across the screen to get behind you. =/
o-------------------------o Of course, this battle is incredibly easy if
you have the Arm Breaker ability in your weapon (upgrade with three Hard
Shells), since that simply targets her spear. In fact, I recommend it for
this one.
After the battle, the party uses the Super Exorcise blade on Passeau, which
successfully gets Nina's spirit out of her but breaks the blade. Nina gets
rescued but falls asleep she's so happy. Laff. Leave Borgrim's Cave for the
Water Fortress, then head back home.
Head in, watch the scenes, and you'll have to go get the Daemon Edges. Go
downstairs and press the action button by the bedside without getting under
the covers to get all three of the items. Back on the ground floor, Blaire
teaches Aera how to open the doors: show the Red Daemon Gem to the door and
shout, "Activate!" You can now head to Goura's Gate...
[CLIFF VILLAGE - GATE OF GOURA]
Meet Orin there and Ryouga appears, trying to impede your progress. Let's
play clean-up, and Ryouga can be the mop!
o-------------------------o
| BOSS: Ryouga | Like the previous battle, attacking Ryouga will
| HP : 3000 | cause him to momentarily block all attacks sent
| DUR : 180 | his way. If you're going for his drop, use this
| EXP : 9000 | time to use Arm Breaker to damage his DUR Regen
| CASH: 650 | claw. If you're trying to win the battle on
| WIN : Doji Soulstone | straight endurance, you might as well just do a
o-------------------------o regular defeat -- Ryouga has a tendency to run
away from action and refill his DUR as he does so. But, even though he does
more damage than before, the same strategy as last time can be applied.
Oddly enough, I kind of got Ryouga's AI a little mixed up: as he ran toward
me, I would anticipate him and use Arm Breaker, making him run off again,
then I could just repeat it. Try that if you're having trouble
After the battle's over, you'll see just who the REAL mastermind of all this
commotion is, and Goura's Gate will now be open. You'll appear back at your
house, first. Go downstairs and talk to the chief, then leave and steer near
the road to Goura's Gate, talking with Rocky and Kara.
THINGS TO DO BEFORE LEAVING:
+ Upgrade/repair weapons, refill expired HP
+ Buy Tyrant Soulstone from salesman for 800 boam
+ Find old lady's cat (by salesman outside) and get Wind Boots!
+ Fight and defeat the Rampage Rabbit an eleventh time; win an Anywhere D.
+ Find the kid's lost stuff (by old man near gatekeeper) and get a Med Kit
+ Buy 2000B info from F. Fortress salesman and learn about Shatter Strike,
which is gained by combining a Beast Crest, King Beast Crest, and a Lion's
Crest -- it shatters your own weapon to do tremendous damage to the foe.
You also get each of those crests!
When you're ready, go to Goura's Gate and you'll try to enter. Blaire, on the
other hand, expressly forbade you to enter and tries to stop you, even if you
are sick! XD!
o-------------------------o
| BOSS: Blaire | Blaire's got some mean attacks, but uses an
| HP : 2500 | axe so of course you can get in opening between
| DUR : 290 | his if you're using a faster weapon. He's not
| EXP : 9500 | that hard, truly, but his double-hew attack can
| CASH: 700 | do a lot and his summon creature can go even
| WIN : Eye of Truth | more with a water-type multi-hitter. Like Ryouga
o-------------------------o before him, he is also susceptible to that weird
Arm Breaker exploit, where if you use it as soon as he runs towards you, he
might retreat and you can keep repeating it for awhile. It's pretty funny
watching you Arm Break him, then when he runs behind you, you flee and do
the same thing.
Blaire commends you on how strong you've become, and you'll be rank "Master"
now! After battle, Gabriel gives you a [RADIO] to talk to him and Xeride if
the rescue mission goes wrong. Heal and repair your stuff, then enter what's
beyond the gate...
NOTE: I'm going for all the treasure chests, so this may be confusing given
how many times you have to duck into and out of the same floor.
[GOURA LABYRINTH GROUND LEVEL]
Head in and go up either side to come to three paths side by side. Take the
middle one up to some boulders, which you should punch out of the way.
[GOURA LABYRINTH B1 - AREA 01]
Continue south to the bend and you'll come up by some crates. Continue to
some switches with eye insignia on them. There are two rocks south of them,
which you have to punch up. Once both switches are depressed, the door will
open. Take it.
[GOURA LABYRINTH B1 - AREA 02]
Follow the path as it curves left and down.
[GOURA LABYRINTH B1 - AREA 03]
Go south to see three floating robots by a door. Take it.
[GOURA LABYRINTH B1 - AREA 02]
Follow to the exit.
[GOURA LABYRINTH B1 - AREA 03]
Take the [ANYWHERE DIARY] and [MED KIT]. Backtrack to the triple-robot room,
which is the same area. Go south to where there's a red goo slick (like ice)
on the floor and some boulders. Ignore them for awhile and slide right to a
path beyond. Continue down to find a hole which you should promptly plummet
into.
[GOURA LABYRINTH B2 - AREA 01]
Continue north and take the right fork to some enclosed treasure chests,
containing a [GRINDING STONE] and a [HEARTLEAF POTION]. Take the left path
now, and continue north.
[GOURA LABYRINTH B2 - AREA 02]
Continue north and go left, taking the first south path you come to.
[GOURA LABYRINTH B2 - AREA 01]
Continue south, take the [RARE MEDAL], then go back up.
[GOURA LABYRINTH B2 - AREA 02]
Take the path that leads down near the left wall.
[GOURA LABYRINTH B2 - AREA 01]
Continue south to a stairway.
[GOURA LABYRINTH B1 - AREA 03]
The trick here is to punch the boulder onto the red goo enough so you can
punch the one already on the slick left as far as you can. From there, punch
both boulders north onto the eye switches and enter the door.
[GOURA LABYRINTH B2 - AREA 01]
Go left -__-
[GOURA LABYRINTH B2 - AREA 03]
Use the auto-heal panel and go onto the slick from the left side of the
wall. Slide right and down so you can push the boulder south. Push it south
(twenty-four times) until it stuffs up the alley on the right wall. Retrace
your steps back towards the panel.
Whew, now go up the right side of the wall and the boulder will allow you to
go left against one of the pillars. Slide north to some chests -- [MED KIT]
and a [GRINDING STONE] -- then slide down from the right alley there. Your
character should land on a small patch of dirt that will allow him to take
the very middle alley up to the exit.
[GOURA LABYRINTH B3 - AREA 01]
NOTE: The explanations get a bit convoluted from here on since multiple
rooms are mentioned repeatedly. If you want to cut through the
crap and ignore some treasure chests (which aren't important anyway),
go south along the eastern wall and exit by the Med Kit chest.
Head west and take the leftmost hole down.
[GOURA LABYRINTH B4 - AREA 02]
Take the [RARE MEDAL] by you and exit upwards.
[GOURA LABYRINTH B3 - AREA 01]
Now that you're back by the holes, take the southernmost one of the two.
[GOURA LABYRINTH B4 - AREA 02]
Exit to the northern stairway.
[GOURA LABYRINTH B3 - AREA 01]
Go south to two more holes that are different from the ones you've seen a
moment ago. Ignore them for a moment and continue south, taking the downward
stairs.
[GOURA LABYRINTH B3 - AREA 02]
Go southeast to find a [GRINDING STONE] chest. Exit back the way you came.
[GOURA LABYRINTH B4 - AREA 01]
This time, take the westernmost hole of the two.
[GOURA LABYRINTH B4 - AREA 02]
Head left and take the northern staircase.
[GOURA LABYRINTH B3 - AREA 02]
Take the leftern hole and you'll drop into...
[GOURA LABYRINTH B4 - AREA 01]
Another [GRINDING STONE] chest is nearby. Punch the rock out of the crag so
you can exit again back to where you first dropped in. Go back to the north
staircase.
[GOURA LABYRINTH B3 - AREA 02]
Cannonball down the left hole.
[GOURA LABYRINTH B4 - AREA 03]
Exit to the north stair.
[GOURA LABYRINTH B3 - AREA 02]
Drop down the left hole.
[GOURA LABYRINTH B4 - AREA 03]
Take south staircase. Yawn.
[GOURA LABYRINTH B3 - AREA 02]
Take left staircase. (Snooze)
[GOURA LABYRINTH B4 - AREA 03]
Head north up the marble walkway to another [GRINDING STONE] and [MED KIT]
chest. Approach the staircase and Aera will feel some sort of power stemming
from nearby. Go upstairs.
[GOURA LABYRINTH B3 - AREA 03]
Follow one-way path to a hole.
[GOURA LABYRINTH B4 - AREA 03]
Take stairway. Boring...
[GOURA LABYRINTH B3 - AREA 03]
There should be two holes here separated by a divider, and you'll be on the
left room. Enter the hole.
[GOURA LABYRINTH B4 - AREA 03]
Land by some crates, exit north.
[GOURA LABYRINTH B3 - AREA 03]
You'll be back here on the right side of the room. Fire down the hatch!
[GOURA LABYRINTH B4 - AREA 03]
Blah. Go left and take the alley north to a staircase.
[GOURA LABYRINTH B3 - AREA 02]
Go north and push the stone out of the jammed walkway so you have easier
access around this place should you want to do some exploring. The exit for
you is east of where you just came in...a hole, of course.
[GOURA LABYRINTH B4 - AREA 03]
Curve down to the exit.
[GOURA LABYRINTH B3 - AREA 02]
Exit into the hole, but not before you get the [ANYWHERE DIARY] chest.
[GOURA LABYRINTH B3 - AREA 02]
Exit up the stairs to the northeast (not the north) of where you fell in.
[GOURA LABYRINTH B3 - AREA 02]
Fall in the southern hole... Zzzz....
[GOURA LABYRINTH B4 - AREA 02]
Exit to the right.
[GOURA LABYRINTH B3 - AREA 01]
Go north, avoiding the hole, and punch past the boulder. Go south along the
eastern wall to a door by a [MED KIT] chest. Go downstairs!
[GOURA LABYRINTH B4 - AREA 01]
From where you enter, curve around north to some organ pipes and buttons
underneath them. From left to right, press the first, third, and fourth of
the buttons to open the northern door. Aera feels Goura's presence as she
approaches the door... Enter the staircase.
[GOURA LABYRINTH B5 - AREA 01]
Follow the room south to a boulder you push east. You'll have to push this
boulder north through the red crystal maze to the red slick. The trick to
this is never to corner yourself in or push it against a wall where you fail
to push it further. Here's a map:
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
|_|_|_|_|_|_|_|_|R O = Rock R = Red goo
|_|O|_|O|_|_|F|_|R S = Start F = Finish (push onto red goo)

|_|O|_|O|O|O|O| R new boulder out of the way and keep going north to
|_|_|5|_|4|_|_| R the exit. Heal up before entering, and make sure you
|_|O|_|O|_|O|_| R have refilled your DUR -- what else are all of those

[GOURA LABYRINTH B5 - AREA 02]
Continue north to the door where Lynn, Orin, and Tatiana appear. Together,
you all waltz into Goura's room.
[GOURA LABYRINTH - CHAMBER OF SEALS]
You'll be prompted four times to signal your creature or unseal a Daemon
Edge, but your choice doesn't matter. After the fourth, Gabriel and company
rescue Orin and Tatiana. Then...
o-------------------------o
| BOSS: Lynn | Lynn attacks with a giant sword (!) and does it
| HP : 3500 | very quickly. Luckily, this makes her DUR wear
| DUR : 300 | down uber-quick. Just bait her into attacking
| EXP : 10000 | and guard, and watch her DUR deplete when she
| CASH: 750 | does her multi-attack and has eight-tenths of
| WIN : Witchstone | it guarded. Laff! If you want to do your duty
o-------------------------o and murder the poor li'l summon creature, that
isn't too hard either. She has a lightning attack that can attack you a few
times, but if you jump into it you can be knocked over and avoid the rest
of the attack. Talk about playing dead... XD! Lynn can kill you if you let
her multi-attack fully hit, which can do 500+ overall, so sneak in a jab,
or, better yet, let her knock you down and immediately cure as you get up;
she seems to back away usually when you're knocked down.
After you're finished with Lynn, she takes the last sword and throws it into
the seal, awakening Goura. Or Guren. Or something.
o-------------------------o
| BOSS: Guren Goura | Whoa, Nelly! This guy's packin' the HP by the
| HP : 12800 | pound. Fortunately, you're not supposed to win
| DUR : --- | this battle. Just stay alive for awhile and you
| EXP : --- | will automatically lose. The charge attack can't
| CASH: --- | be guarded against, but the swords that thrust
| WIN : --- | out of its body can. Make sure to heal up before
o-------------------------o each charge, 'cause it does 300-400 damage per
each. Just run to the other side of the field, guard/heal, then repeat as
necessary.
The battle automatically quits as Aera realizes she can't defeat Guren Goura
at the moment. Toumei apparently puts a ward on the evil creature, giving a
chance to escape. You'll warp back to the Cliff Village thanks to Xeride.
Your summoned creature will talk about a glow here, and you will receive the
[GEM OF LIGHT]. Go bakc home.
[CLIFF VILLAGE - MASTER'S HOUSE]
Go into the workshop and make a weapon out of the Gem of Light. I made an
Axe (Noble Caesar), but whichever you make, it will have nice stats and the
Large DUR Regen ability. DO NOT UPGRADE WITH THE ITEM! Go back upstairs and
watch the scenes about how Guren is gonna get thrown into space, etc., then
exit. Bruno is now at the Monoshift Monument if you need to go there, but
it's time to go back to Goura... Make sure you've equipped the weapon you'll
use against him!!!
o-------------------------o
| BOSS: Guren Goura | Now you have a fighting chance! Like before,
| HP : 12800 | it uses an unblockable charging attack (but you
| DUR : --- | can avoid it by running away) and a sword thrust
| EXP : 17000 | attack that can be blocked. It has a lunging
| CASH: 1000 | jump attack that does minor damage as well. Use
| WIN : --- | your summoned creature only for healing here and
o-------------------------o as long as you flay off a few thousand HP between
each time you need to heal, this battle's cake. The Large DUR Regen ability
doesn't really come into play, sadly, but at least you get to bash Guren's
face in. Keep at a close range so you don't bait it into its rush attack!
Goura absorbs its female acolyte and becomes stronger. Everyone gives some
encouraging words and even Ryouga shows up to help you out. Aera goes into
a huge Mono Shift
o-------------------------o
| BOSS: Guren Goura | You'll be in Mono Shift mode for the __FINAL__
| HP : 40000 | battle. Guren has quite a few elemental skills,
| DUR : --- | but staying very close to him is a good idea on
| EXP : 19000 | how to avoid them (say in middle of water one).
| CASH: 1000 | To avoid the fire one, when summoned, start
| WIN : Red Daemon Gem | running towards Goura and you should be able to
o-------------------------o get under the last two of the attack since the
first one is the lowest. The lightning one can be avoided by simply running
out of range. After the elemental attacks have been used, Goura tends to
do some easily-blockable physical attacks with the Daemon Edges. Once you
peg each skill's strategy, this battle's not that hard to deal with; just
make sure you fight smartly!
Afterwards, Goura's spirit is calmed and it turns out he's just a summoned
creature who's been misunderstood...or something. The battle is over, the
world is at peace, all is well.
Backtrack through all the areas to the Chamber of Seals and press the action
button on the glowing floor glyph to be teleported...
[GOURA LABYRINTH B6 - AREA 01]
Pound the purple panel nearby to put it in the teleportation network you use
to get around to the fortresses. Kaching! There are two red goo slicks on
either side of the room. Slide northwest to a chest with [SEAFOOD SOUP] in
it; slide northeast to get to a chest with a [GRINDING STONE] in it.
To get north, you have to slide into the large crystals on either slick and
ricochet up. Whichever way you take, you end up in...
[GOURA LABYRINTH B7 - AREA 01]
This is pretty easy. Each side has a boulder that you have to punch north
to a switch, with an extra boulder in between. When you push the right
boulder north, you have to push the middle stone left so you can get around
to its bottom and keep pushing. Just remember that when you do the left side
that you'll have to push the middle stone RIGHT first thing so you don't
screw the entire thing up. Once all stones are navigated to the switches,
exit.
[GOURA LABYRINTH B8 - AREA 01]
More goo slicks, but easy to navigate this time. Run northeast to the land
patch, then northwest to the diagonal patch. Go southwest onto the alcove
with the [ANYWHERE DIARY] chest. Go east to the first patch of land you
were on.
This time, go west and slide into the red crystals sitting in the goo.
Slip an' slide north to some more crystals, then slide west into another
alcove. Raid the [TYRANT SOULSTONE] chest and take the [RARE MEDAL]. From
the alcove, slide east to another "safe" patch and simply maneuver yourself
down the southeastern goo to a stairway.
[GOURA LABYRINTH B9 - AREA 01]
You can fight Dark Dragons here which drop BlackDragon Fangs! GET SOME!
Anyway...this is another confusing room. From where you start, there are
two corridors you can take north. Take the left one and follow it up to a
few more corridors. Take the left one north.
[GOURA LABYRINTH B9 - AREA 02]
This one's a dead end with a [GRINDING STONE] in it. Go back down to the
previous area (B9 Area 01) and take the right parallel path up to B9 once
again.
Head north and you'll come to a T-fork. Continue right and north to a dead
end with a [RARE MEDAL] by some boxes. Go back to the fork and go left and
south along the west edge of the room.
[GOURA LABYRINTH B9 - AREA 01]
Keep going down to a dead end with a [HEARTLEAF POTION] in it. Backtrack.
[GOURA LABYRINTH B9 - AREA 02]
Go back to the T-fork and take the right path that's stuffed up with boxes
and other breakables.
[GOURA LABYRINTH B9 - AREA 01]
Just a small u-path; continue down and back up again.
[GOURA LABYRINTH B9 - AREA 02]
Continue up and you'll come to a north/south path against the eastern wall.
Go south and out of the screen (into Area 01) if you want yet another one of
those [GRINDING STONE] thingies; go north thru the twisting path to find a
auto-heal panel and the exit.
[GOURA LABYRINTH B10 - AREA 01]
Take a walk down the claustrophobic paths until you get to a fork. Go down
the cramped right one to a [MED KIT] chest, then head down the left. There
are a bunch of boxes clogging the route north, where the exit is.
[GOURA LABYRINTH B10 - AREA 02]
As you enter, you'll see two treasure chests boxed in on either side of the
room, inaccessible for the moment. Take the corridor up the screen to find
three passages. Depending on which chest you want first, take the nearest
exit.
[GOURA LABYRINTH B11 - AREA 01]
If you're on the left/right path, go south to an upward stairway.
[GOURA LABYRINTH B10 - AREA 01]
The left chest contains a [HEARTLEAF POTION], while the right's bounty is a
[WITCHSTONE]. Leave back the way you came (B11 Area 01) and exit back up to
the triple-doored room. Take the middle door.
[GOURA LABYRINTH B11 - AREA 01]
There's a special boss waiting for you here...
o-------------------------o
| BOSS: Death Reaper | This doofus is as easy as he was last time, and
| HP : 22000 | you can use the same strategy: get in close and
| DUR : --- | block its hockey-stick scythe attack. It can do
| EXP : 22000 | some damage if it hits, but really now, if only
| CASH: 1000 | all bosses could be this one-track. If you're
| WIN : Onyx Lifestone | doing multi-hit combos, you might stumble a bit
o-------------------------o here, but so long as you attack it while it's
back is turned (after "scything" through you), you can get in more than
one. Also, take note of its portal-opening multi-hitter; that one's still
damaging.
After the creature's defeated, take the two chests it was guarding to gain
a [GRINDING STONE] and a [STARTUP SWITCH]. Use Escape to get back to the
purple portal and get outta this place.

Backtrack through this familiar territory down to where you received the Core
Item Parts for Gunvald way back when, to Ruined Factory B6 - Area 04. Inspect
the switch with the Startup Switch in your possession to make a retractable
bridge extend left. Follow it down to...
[RUINED FACTORY B7 - AREA 01]
Pound the switch to connect the area to the teleportation network, then head
south down the hallway and across the conveyor. Go right and follow the path
up and around to another conveyor, which takes you south and out.
[RUINED FACTORY B7 - AREA 02]
Arc around and cross the horizontal conveyor, then the next horizontal one
to land on a platform touching multiple belts. Go left and walk around the
room's left edge to a [BLACKDRAGON FANG] chest. Take the only conveyor out
to a platform, then go right to another chest with a [HEARTLEAF POTION] and
a [RARE MEDAL].
Get back to the platform just right of the BlackDragon Fang chest and head
south.
[RUINED FACTORY B7 - AREA 03]
Continue down the corridor, use the auto-heal panel. Further down the way,
go past the path blocked by crates and exit east.
[RUINED FACTORY B7 - AREA 04]
Go east along the belts to end up by a [RARE MEDAL] and get the [GRINDING
STONE] chest by spearing it. Hammer the button to reverse the conveyors,
then head back to the previous area. Take the path blocked by crates back
into B7 Area 04.
Use the conveyor system to the north which leads to a button. Hammer it,
backtrack to where you came in, direct yourself east along the conveyors.
At the very end of all of them, you can head north and out.
[RUINED FACTORY B7 - AREA 05]
Head north and get the [HEARTLEAF POTION] by the left wall. Exit north.
[RUINED FACTORY B8 - AREA 01]
Take the south conveyor, go left and take a north conveyor, then take the
horizontal conveyor to the right side of the room. All of the belts end up
at the southeastern portion by the exit.
[RUINED FACTORY B8 - AREA 02]
Take the conveyor south and take the [ONYX LIFESTONE] by the edge. Use the
next conveyor and platform-jump until you can get a [SEAFOOD SOUP] chest in
the north. Use the straightforward conveyors to exit north.
[RUINED FACTORY B8 - AREA 03]
Just one conveyor here. Heal up your DUR and HP before you take it, 'cause
it leads to a boss battle with...

| HP : 32000 | it shoots its projectile attack at you and jump
| DUR : --- | in the air when it ground-punches to avoid the

| CASH: 2000 | the slow-moving baddie, it won't use anything
| WIN : Mechanical Box | except the ground-pound skill. =)
o-------------------------o
After battle, collect the [WATER BELL] and [SPARK BRACELET] items from the
chests on either side of where the robot stood and Escape out of here back
to the purple teleport pad.

the blue switch, which leads to another platform with switches. Ignore those
for a moment and continue east along the new path, which leads south.
[SUBTERRANEAN BAY - AREA 18]
Hit the blue switch and continue south, taking the [SEAFOOD SOUP] chest
and using the auto-heal (^__^) panel. Backtrack to previous area.
[SUBTERRANEAN BAY - AREA 17]
Go to the three buttons on the large middle platform (not the ones you first
saw) and hit the red button. Go east and claim the [RARE MEDAL] as you own,
then exit south on the sandbar.
[SUBTERRANEAN BAY - AREA 18]
Elehydes appear here, and drop Vortex Crab Claws. <3
Now on a different beach path, hit the red button and continue along the
newly-risen stones to a [GRINDING STONE] chest. Further east are three more
buttons. The red lets you go back the way you came, the blue connects the
path to the auto-heal panel/chest in the south, and the green opens the way
north. Hit the green and follow the stepping stones back around north.
[SUBTERRANEAN BAY - AREA 19]
Hit the red button and follow it left, north, and east to three more buttons
to choose from. Hit the green button and continue west to the stepping stone
path that curves back north again. Hit the blue button on the vertical-type
sandbar to open a single stone to the right, leading to a [MECHANICAL BOX]
chest. Exit north.
[SUBTERRANEAN BAY - AREA 20]
Hit the green button and go right, following the trail to a [RARE MEDAL] and
a [GALE BOOTS] chest. Backtrack and take the left path this time to a blue
button. Smash it and head back up towards where the chest is; you'll be able
to go west this time. Hit the red button and go ALL the way back down to
where the blue button is, going over the new left path. Heal and refill your
DUR before you go up the vertical-shaped sandbar, 'cause there's another foe
waiting to eat your face off...
o-------------------------o
| BOSS: Lobsta Supreme | When it uses its bubble attack, run away so it
| HP : 42000 | the multi-hitter misses you. This guy has decent
| DUR : --- | physical attacks (200-300+) but they can be
| EXP : 42000 | blocked if you've a quick hand. Combos only
| CASH: 3000 | muck this one up, but Mono Shifting might play
| WIN : Cat Paw Figurine | to your advantage. Even if you've got good
o-------------------------o weapons here, this battle can still be one of
those annoying ones you might just have to take slow, maybe pausing the
game for awhile to keep in a good state of mind. It also helps if you can
Enchant Fire to your weapon or have a fire-elemental property. If you stay
at a medium range from the creature, it will use its head extension attack
rather than both heads -- use this to your advantage, too. Occasionally,
the Lobsta will back up, so it's in your best interest to push it into a
corner rather than the other way around.
Collect the [SNOWMELT POWDER] where the lobster once was and Escape out of
the dungeon, heading back to town for a little R&R. Yeah, that sounds quite
nice...

Backtrack to where the Daemon Edge once was once you've got the Snowmelt
Powder. Inspect the discolored pieces of wood right of the blinking crystal
and they'll crumble, letting you proceed beyond...
[GLACIER GORGE - AREA 15]
As per usual, hammer the warp device to activate it. Go up to the icy pond
and find part of the snowy landscape that bends into it a bit. If you go
straight from there, you can get to a dead-end passage with stumps and
stuff (in next screen); slide northeast to a path and exit that way.
[GLACIER GORGE - AREA 16]
Continue north.
[GLACIER GORGE - AREA 17]
You start off on the southern side of the pond. Slide up from the left part
of the snowy path to a patch of dry land. Go east to another, then go east
once again to find a "7" pattern of barrels. Try to get caught in the crook
of the configuration and simply slide south to the exit.
[GLACIER GORGE - AREA 18]
You start north of a pond this time. Slide down the left edge of the icy
slick to a [RARE MEDAL] and an auto-heal panel. Back by where you start,
find the three breakables on the right side. From the middle, slide down to
the exit path.
[GLACIER GORGE - AREA 19]
You can fight Metal Crabs here, which give 20000+ Bonus EXP! KILL THEM!
---
Another pond here. There are two stumps here by the water's edge, and if
you position yourself south of them (directly), you can slide east to a
chest sitting on the slick -- it contains a [GRINDING STONE].
As for the exit, there are many ways of getting to the thin northern path,
but the way I did it wasn't too hard. Go down by the three barrels at the
dry land side of the pond. Position your character edge of the rightmost
barrel and slide east. If you did it right, you'll catch a crag on the
southern rock boundary and can simply go straight north. That's it, only 2
moves. Beats slipping and sliding around on the ice, if you ask me.
[GLACIER GORGE - AREA 20]
Continue straight (and I do mean straight) up to the pond's edge, and slide
northwest to three treasure chests -- two [MED KIT]s and a [GRINDING STONE].
On that same side, go a little south of the treasure chests and slide east
to another clear spot with a tree and a [RARE MEDAL].
To exit, get on the southern side of the pond and press your character to
the left wall. Slide northeast and you'll land directly in the exit trail!
[GLACIER GORGE - AREA 21]
Take either the stuffed-up northerly path or the curved southern one and
you'll end up in the same area, with trees and boxes. Exit to the south.
[GLACIER GORGE - AREA 22]
Another pond here. From the top of the western side, slide left to a grass
patch. Cut away the top layer and slide east, to a [CAT PAW FIGURINE] chest
on the ice. From the chest, slide downwards to a snowy plot. Slide southeast
from there to the bottom wall, and you should slide to a stop against a
jutting piece of the boundary. Slide directly north to exit! Heal up all of
your DUR and HP before you go.
[GLACIER GORGE - AREA 23]
A monster fatty / fatty monster is waiting for you. It's plow time!
o-------------------------o
| BOSS: Ice Doll | This guy has three attacks, all of which you've
| HP : 52000 | seen before in less-damaging incarnations. The
| DUR : --- | first is a double-slap that can be guarded with
| EXP : 52000 | not too much trouble; the second is where it
| CASH: 4000 | breathes and icicles drop from above...this can
| WIN : Angel Ice Statue | be guarded, too; the third is where it flies up
o-------------------------o and butt-pounds the ground. If you're not under
the Ice Doll when it falls, the tremor momentarilly causes you to stop the
movement but doesn't damage you. Jump when it does this to avoid any of its
effects, 'cause it can do 1000+ damage. =(
That said, this doofus has a lot of HP and decent defense, but isn't quite
as annoying as the Lobsta since you have plenty of chances to move around
and you can't be cornered in to get smoked by cheap attacks. Consider going
into a Mono Shift, attacking it, then fleeing, baiting it to fly up and
give chase a bit, then repeating. When he breathes ice, if you stand in the
middle and block it, he seems to keep repeating that skill for awhile. An
axe's range can attack its girth from there easily, so that's also an easy
opportunity to damage him. Another strategy that worked sort of well for me
is baiting him into his flying attack -- when he flies towards you, dash
under him and as he falls, jump into him and attack a few times; he should
then start flying back towards you again at which time you can abuse the AI
and keep up the hitting.
After you're done smashin' him up, head north and get the [AQUA RING] and
[UNLOCK TALISMAN] chests. Escape out and go heal up back in town.

cavern's northern point. If you have the Unlock Talisman, the debris will
disappear and you can enter the depths beyond.
[ONI HOT SPRINGS - AREA 17]
Pound the purple warp panel to get it up and running, then head up around
the pond. Toumei is here also, but doesn't tell you anything of importance.
Exit north.
[ONI HOT SPRINGS - AREA 18]
Continue north through the steam to a stairway. Go to the other side of the
waterfall and look for a downward stair obscured by grass. Hammer the geyser
you find, then take the [RARE MEDAL] beside it. Run back up the stairs and
head right to find two more falls. At the base of each is a chest, holding
an [ONYX LIFESTONE] and a [GRINDING STONE] for you. Take 'em and exit south.
[ONI HOT SPRINGS - AREA 19]
Head past the stumps to find an auto-heal point by some trees. Take the
path to the south all the way to the north exit.
[ONI HOT SPRINGS - AREA 20]
Steamy in here...again... At least you can find Omen Fish here, which can
drop Witchstones.
At the fork, take a left and go up the stairs by the waterfall. Go all the
way east to the screen boundary and take the stairs south. Pound the geyser
you find and air this place out. You should see some chests nearby now that
the fog's veil's been lifted. Go back around and claim the [MECHANICAL BOX]
and [HEARTLEAF POTION]. The exit's to the north, along the eastern wall.
[ONI HOT SPRINGS - AREA 21]
Straightforward path here: head up the stairs, go left and down the stairs,
follow to the second set of waterfalls, go up stairs, exit left. Whew.
[ONI HOT SPRINGS - AREA 22]
You can fight Eleflares here -- they drop Crimson Horns.
Head left through the crates that block the path, and take a south to find
a small plot with a [HARDBOILED EGG] chest. Exit left.
[ONI HOT SPRINGS - AREA 23]
To find the geyser you'll hammer, head through the steam to the left side
of the grass patch, trekking north. Continue north to a pond and you'll find
Ol' Faithful ready to be decommissioned. Go back to the grass patch (ignore
left entrance for now) and go northeast out of the screen.
[ONI HOT SPRINGS - AREA 24]
Head due east to find the geyser. Put a cork in it and head north to the
path blocked off by grass. In the northeast part of the closed-off path, you
can find another [RARE MEDAL]. West from there are two chests that contain a
[GRINDING STONE] and an [ANGEL ICE STATUE]. Hooray! Leave the way you came.
[ONI HOT SPRINGS - AREA 23]
Continue left through this area and exit (easily navigable).
[ONI HOT SPRINGS - AREA 25]
Heal yourself and your weapons' DUR ratings, then approach your ol' monkey-
-faced friend...
o-------------------------o
| BOSS: Monkey Extreme | Its attacks are as follows: a prayer that rains
| HP : 62000 | some spirits down in a small area, and can't be
| DUR : --- | blocked; a bead-slinging attack you CAN block;
| EXP : 62000 | and a downward punch you can also block. For all
| CASH: 5000 | the HP this guy has, he's not quite as hard as
| WIN : Angel Ice Statue | you may think; he often doesn't follow you thru
o-------------------------o the battlefield and you can bait him into doing
the bead attack for most of the fight, which is what you want; it's blocked
easily in a medium-range setting. You can do this without Mono Shifting,
but you'll have at least two Red Daemon Gems (max: 3), so go buck wild if
you have more than one good weapon. Just remember: stay at a very close
range and he'll only use his bead move!
After battle, take the [RARE MEDAL] the guy was sitting on, then rob the
chests for a [FLARE BRACELET] and [BUSHIDO SCROLL]. Score! Escape outta the
dungeon and head back to the village with your trophies held high.

01) Lost Kitty Kat
o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o
In Cliff Village, visit the old granny in the southwesternmost house. She'll
confide in you that her cat's been leaving the house recently and wants you
to bring it back. Head to the dead end south of the item shop and take the
cat, and the granny will automatically give you a [SMALL WORM] for all your
troubles (none).
After you're sent to find the Daemon Edge, go back to the location where your
character's former house was. You'll find a man with your old nemesis, Rampage
Rabbit, who says he's raising the stray to be the most powerful bunny in the
entire world. He asks you to spar with it (you can decline)...
o-----------------------o This time around, it's far tougher and can eat up
| BOSS: RAMPAGE RABBIT | to 20 HP off your character, depending on the
| HP : 150 | weapon. Its quick attacks can quickly make your
| EXP : 100 | guarding all for naught, so attack it once with an
| CASH: 30 | axe (most damaging) and retreat/jump back. Repeat
| WIN : Kicker Potion | this strategy and you'll beat it in no time.
o-----------------------o
o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o
03) Just Watch Me!
o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o
After you're sent to find the Daemon Edge, take the path by the salesman down
to the middle section of town and enter the first house on the right. The
woman there will give you a Broken Watch she found. Take the watch to the
house at the far right of that street and the man will exchange it for one
Bandage. Yay.
o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o
04) The Lumberjack
o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o
In the southwesternmost house in the village, an old man tells you that he
was once a lumberjack who used to smash stuff up in Entry Woods, as well as
pledging to give you an item every time you clear an area of boxes and such.
Go to Entry Woods, destroy all the cuttable and smashable items there, and
return. He'll give you a Charged Ore for all your hard destruction-work.
From then on, you can gain more items from each time you clear areas. The
following is the prizes...
Entry Woods -------------> Charged Ore
Forest Outskirts --------> Leafwyrm Thorn
Roaring Cavern ----------> Beast Crest
Lost Woods --------------> Gale Ore
Forgotten Woods ---------> Boost Motor
Vanishing Forest --------> Lion's Crest
After finishing them all he'll give you the [MECHA MEDAL], a quest item which
lets you play the "Gunvald vs. Borgrim" game in the main menu Extras tab.
Apparently, you don't have to do the dungeons that have extra portions in the
post-game.
o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o
05) Lost Kitty Kat II
o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o
Once you've given the Hononas to Blaire and can freely walk around town, go
back to the southwesternmost house and talk to the granny once more. She'll
admit her cat's off somewhere and wants you wrangle it back. The dog in the
back will give you a clue, as it barks towards Blaire's house. Go towards
there and find the cat by the stairway (outside). You'll receive a Bandage
for your troubles.
o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o
06) Rampage Rabbit Battling! II
o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o
Journey back north to the spot where Aera's old house once was to find the
Rampage Rabbit battler. He'll challenge you to a rematch once Blaire has been
given the Hononas.
o-----------------------o This guy will mop the floor with you if you're
| BOSS: RAMPAGE RABBIT | wielding those sissy Iron Ore weapons; you'll need
| HP : 300 | to upgrade so you can do more than 1 HP damage to
| EXP : 150 | it. Consider using your Leafwyrm Thorn or the Aqua
| CASH: 35 | Ore for an axe type (good defense, remember) and
| WIN : Heartleaf Potion| plink with the attack-and-retreat strategy. Keep
o-----------------------o up the guard, as it has a charging headbutt skill.
A good strategy is to wait for it to headbutt, attack and then jump back so
you can avoid its barrage of mouth chomps. You'll get a lot of Bonus EXP for
a win here.
Underneath the stairway by Lynn's house is a man who wants Rare Medals. At
first you won't have any, but as you dungeon-crawl and search places, you'll
accumulate some. He gives prizes for ever five you give to him, and the first
time you'll be able to have that many is after the Roaring Cavern events.
From then on, you can return and exchange your medals for items. There are
35 in the game, as the man tells you.
After he's done, he reveals that the medals weren't for any purpose, he's
simply a collector. WHERE IS MY GRATIFICATION!?
o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o
08) Lost Kitty Kat III
o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o
Talk to the granny in the southerwesternmost house again to learn her cat's
flew the coop once again. The dog behind the house barks towards one of the
houses. Go into the chief's house and take the kitty warmin' itself by the
stove. You'll get a Kicker Potion as a reward.
o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o
09) Rampage Rabbit Battling! III
o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o
Journey back north to the spot where Aera's old house once was to find the
Rampage Rabbit battler. He'll challenge you to a battle once you've talked
to Nina about Passeau.
o-----------------------o I actually found this time easier than the second.
| BOSS: RAMPAGE RABBIT | Now he does his headbutt more often, which is easy
| HP : 640 | to guard and saves you the trouble of having to
| EXP : 200 | move to him. Attack him a few times as it lunges
| CASH: 40 | to you, then jump back to avoid its biting skill.
| WIN : Anywhere Diary | Repeat and the battle is gravy. Seriously!
o-----------------------o
o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o
10) Lost Kitty Kat IV
o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o
The cat's lost...again. The dog barks towards the residential area, which
means that it's to the right. Find the cat by the Rare Medal guy, under the
stairs. You'll get a Rubstone for your efforts, but can only do this mission
after talking to Nina about Passeau.
o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o
11) Rampage Rabbit Battling! IV
o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o
After talking to Nina about Passeau, go back to the rabbit's trainer and ask
to beat this thing up again. Did I hear an Energizer Rabbit reference...?
o-----------------------o
| BOSS: RAMPAGE RABBIT | Kind of the same as last time, except it has a slow
| HP : 800 | carrot-smacking attack. Block it like normal and
| EXP : 250 | attack it when it lunges into your weapon. It'll
| CASH: 45 | do more damage (~50) this time around if it hits
| WIN : Med Kit | you in the open, but you should be adept at keepin'
o-----------------------o that guard button held high.
Talk to the curry-making housewife (rightmost house in middle section of
town) to learn she lacks some spices. Talk to the Water Fortress salesman
and he'll give you 'Extra Hot Spices,' which you can exchange for a Bnadage
back in the village.
o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o
13) Lost Kitty Kat V
o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o
Talk to the old grandmother again to learn kitty's gone. The dog barks toward
the cliff, and you can find it by the guy who stands at the crossroads to the
secret place and Goura's Gate. You'll get a Hardboiled Egg (!!) for all your
hard work. 'Course, this can only be done after you get the Jinrai Blade.
o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o
14) Rampage Rabbit Battling! V
o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o
After getting the Jinrai Blade, go back to the rabbit trainer and spar once
again.
o-----------------------o
| BOSS: RAMPAGE RABBIT | Basically the same as last time except the bunny
| HP : 1500 | has a carrot-eating skill to refill some of its
| EXP : 300 | HP. Use any good offensive skills with your summon
| CASH: 50 | creature to counteract with its annoying lunging
| WIN : Anywhere Diary | attacks and you'll do fine.
o-----------------------o
o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o
15) Spicy Curry, Too Hot!
o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o
Talk to the curry-making housewife after you get the Jinrai Blade and she'll
give you some sick Wheatgrass Juice. Talk to the gate guard who's eating her
curry and he'll want something to drink. Give him the juice and he'll give
you Seafood Soup as thanks.
o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o
16) Rampage Rabbit Battling! VI
o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o
o-----------------------o
| BOSS: RAMPAGE RABBIT | A minor upgrade to the rabbit's repertoire is the
| HP : 1700 | skill where it jumps around on its butt and tries
| EXP : 350 | to stomp you. Besides that, use the attack/guard
| CASH: 55 | strategy and any offensive summoned creature skills
| WIN : Med Kit | you have (Sigma Collider for me).
o-----------------------o
o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o
17) Kid Loses Stuff, Part ??
o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o
Talk to the kid who loses stuff (by southwesternmost house) and he'll want
you to help him find whatever he lost. Go right to the waterfall's base and
search the wall. He'll give you a Med Kit for helping him.
o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o
18) Lost Kitty Kat VI
o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o
Talk to the old mother to learn the cat's out once more. The dog barks to the
"park," which means the town square. Retrieve the cat and get a Whetstone for
the wasted time.
o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o
19) Rampage Rabbit Battling! VII
o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o
o-----------------------o
| BOSS: RAMPAGE RABBIT | Kinda the same as last time, except his eat-carrot
| HP : 2250 | skill heals a little more. You start out far apart
| EXP : 400 | so think about spamming your offensive summoned
| CASH: 60 | creature's skills to reduce the inevitable HP gap.
| WIN : Anywhere Diary | This guy's attacks are still the same, but do more
o-----------------------o damage. Attack and guard like usual... Crappy prize
as per usual, it seems...
o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o
20) Lost Kitty Kat VII
o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o
Granny's cat has fled again. The dog behind the house is barking /towards/ a
house...somewhere. It's in Lynn's house this time. Bring it back and receive
some Seafood Soup. Finally, no more junk!
o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o
21) Kid Loses Stuff, Part VII
o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o
Poor kid's absent-mindedness cost him his "something" again. To find it, look
by the ground in front of the cat granny's house. He'll give you an Anywhere
Diary for your trouble.
o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o
22) Kid Loses Stuff, Part VIII
o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o
Talk to the kid to learn he's lost stuff again. Go down to the middle section
of town and find the house on the left side of the bridge. Inspect the ground
between the house and the bridge and you'll find that special "something" he
keeps losing. You'll get a Med Kit for your trouble.
o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o
23) Rampage Rabbit Battling! VIII
o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o
o-----------------------o Same as before -- no new skills, but his attacks do
| BOSS: RAMPAGE RABBIT | a bit more damage and his eat-a-carrot skill heals
| HP : 2800 | a bit more HP. Use your best offensive skill since
| EXP : 450 | you start out far apart and just wear down his life
| CASH: 65 | from afar. Kinda weak strategy, but you don't have
| WIN : Med Kit | to show any quarter to a rabbit, anyway. :p The
o-----------------------o bunny does heal more often, though, so this fight
might be a little longer than the previous ones you've encountered.
o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o
24) Lost Kitty Kat VIII
o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o
The granny's cat is out again! Again, the dog barks towards a house somewhere
so head to the upstairs portion of the chief's house and get it. You win one
of those Lure Charms for your "win."
o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o
25) Lost Kitty Kat IX
o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o
This takes place after you've done the events in the Vanishing Woods.
After talking with the cat woman and the dog behind her house, it seems the
cat's at the fishing pond. And it is. You'll get a Grinding Stone (!) for
your trouble. Sure beats stupid Anywhere Diaries...
o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o
26) Kid Loses Stuff IX
o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o
The kid's at it again... Go up by the item shop and inspect the path by the
fence (dead-end side) and you'll find his special "something." He rewards you
with an Anywhere Diary.
o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o
27) Rampage Rabbit Battling! VIII
o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o
After the events in Vanishing Woods, talk to the battler again and spar.
o-----------------------o
| BOSS: RAMPAGE RABBIT | He's got a huge amount of life this time, and has
| HP : 3350 | more damaging attacks, although his repertoire is
| EXP : 500 | unchanged. He seems to bounce around more than
| CASH: 70 | usual and not heal as much, thankfully.
| WIN : Anywhere Diary |
o-----------------------o
o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o
28) Lost Kitty Kat X
o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o
This search-fest takes place on the day when everyone is trying to cheer up
your character (after Oni Hot Springs events), but before you go meet with
them. Talk with the old lady, then the dog behind the house to learn the cat
is in some residence. Find it in the item shop and get a Fire Ring as a
reward. W00t!
o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o
29) Kid Loses Stuff X
o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o
Talk to the kid to find out his stuff's lost. Whatta surprise. Go to the
bridge in the middle of town and search around the ground in front of the
kid who gives you a tablecloth to find the item. Your reward...a Water Ring!
o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o
30) Kid Loses Stuff XI
o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o
This takes place the day after everyone tries to cheer up your character --
after the Oni Hot Springs events. Talk to the kid and go look around the
curry woman's house on the left side to find the kid's "stuff." He'll reward
you with an Anywhere Diary, which sucks a lot... Bah.
o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o
31) Lost Kitty Kat XI
o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o
This can be done the day after everyone tries to cheer up your character --
the day after the Oni Hot Springs events. The cat's apparently in one of the
houses, as the dog barks there. Find the feline outside of the Craftknights'
house and get a Ninja Scroll II for your trouble! AWESOME!!! ^____^
o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o
32) Rampage Rabbit Battling! X
o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o
Start it up at Aera's special place.
o-----------------------o
| BOSS: RAMPAGE RABBIT | His lowered HP is compensated by more damaging
| HP : 2500 | attacks, but if you've upgraded your weapon with,
| EXP : 550 | say, a Kishin Horn or some Ninja Scrolls, this guy
| CASH: 75 | will seem to have regressed in skill. Personally,
| WIN : Med Kit | I just used Jump Attack and turned this li'l bunny
o-----------------------o into hasenpfeffer. XD
o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o
33) Kid Loses Stuff XII
o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o
After fighting the boss in front of Goura's Gate, go back to town and find
the kid near the cat lady's house. Talk to him then head up by the man who
stands at the entrance to the fisherman's lake. Inspect the lot around there
and you'll find the kid's "something," which nets you a Med Kit!
o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o
34) Lost Kitty Kat XII
o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o
Kitty's AWOL once again. The dog behind the house barks to the residential
area, and as usual, it's spot-on: it's across the bridge by the salesman and
the old lady. You get Wind Boots for your trouble!
o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o
35) Rampage Rabbit Battling! XI
o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o
Get northbound.
o-----------------------o
| BOSS: RAMPAGE RABBIT | This guy can do 200+ to unblocked flesh, so you'll
| HP : 6400 | have to be on your best guard here. Same attacks
| EXP : 600 | as you're used to, but due to the incredible risk
| CASH: 80 | you'll be taking and the need to refill HP, gauge
| WIN : Anywhere Diary | if you can waste summons on offense -- mine only
o-----------------------o did about 800. But, either way, if you can guard
this guy, you can take away its main point. One change, though, is that
the Rampage Rabbit heals ALL the time for about 600 HP, so rely on weapon
skills to get by, preferably ones that don't involve up-close melee'ing
(like Shockwave).
o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o
35) Rampage Rabbit Battling! XII
o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o
After defeating the storyline portion of the game, go back to the rabbit's
trainer and have a rematch.
o-----------------------o
| BOSS: RAMPAGE RABBIT | This time 'round, he's incredibly fast and can now
| HP : 11000 | use his ears to guard your attacks. It's recommended
| EXP : 650 | you have a high attack weapon (or two) and that you
| CASH: 85 | Mono Shift your way through this one. Strangely, I
| WIN : Carrot Badge | didn't see the bunny heal once...

[Q] - There's this kid that keeps losing stuff. What do I do?
[A] - Search the ground in the place he was the previous day to find that
"something" he's lost. It doesn't appear on the map but you will get a
question mark icon if you find it. Make sure to talk to the kid first
or your character won't pick it up.
[Q] - Does the story change if I pick a different character/guardian beast?
[A] - Dialogue scenes change, of course, but the plot remains the same.
[Q] - What does 'TEC' do...?
[A] - It affects the rate at which the weapon loses DUR. The higher it is,
the less is taken off; the lower it is, the faster the DUR drains.
Fighting with the weapon raises the TEC rating, but disassembling and
remodeling halves the stat, so unless you have a great weapon you'll
never want to part with, it's almost assured you'll never have one
that's full 100% of the time.
[Q] - How exactly do I make weapons?
[A] - First, you decide which weapon you want and choose a corresponding
shapestone. Then, you find a material you will use to make your weapon
and that will serve as your base until/if it's disassembled. As your
Craftknight's rank rises, you can eventually compound more and more
materials (max: 3) into your already-formed sword to strengthen it even
further and give it new abilities, mayhap.
[Q] - I don't understand the shapestone stats and whatever...
[A] - Basically, all shapestones when you get them have no extra stats, but
as you craft weapons and reuse the shapestone repeatedly, it gets a
buildup of base stats that always carry over into the new weapon. This
gives an extra boost of strength/defense/agl to the next weapon you
make, and so on. As one's craftknight ranking increases, the amount of
stats retained rises incrementally, with 10% being the lowest possible
ranking (while still being able to craft) and 50% being the absolute
highest.
[Q] - When I disassemble a weapon, does it throw away all the materials?
[A] - Yep, only the shapestone is left over with base stats.
[Q] - How do I break all of those boxes in Ruined Factory?
[A] - The ones out of reach have to be broken with your spear.
[Q] - My weapon broke!? What do I do? Do I have to forge a new one? ;-;
[A] - Nope, you still have it but can't use it in battle. Repair at workshop.
[Q] - How do I refill health for free? Where are the inns? ;-;
[A] - You have to find a bed and press the action button in it, silly.
[Q] - How do I run from battle?
[A] - Go to one edge of the screen and fill the gauge that appears to full.
[Q] - If I want another Bushido Scroll [etc.], do I have to defeat the secret
boss again?
[A] - Besides the special materials that come in chests, that's the only way.
