3. The Metroid Saga
-------------------
The Metroid Saga was first conceived in 1986 by Nintendo. The entire series was
platform based with lots of exploration and blasting in between. The series had
only 3 titles so far; that was, until Metroid Fusion arrived! Here is the
details of the 3 games so far (You can get lots more Metroid info at the
Metroid Database -
http://www.classicgaming.com/mdb) :
METROID
In the year 2000 of the new cosmos, the Galactic Federation of Planets was
established along with the Galactic Federation Police. Tradelines were open
among worlds and everything was safe... until the Space Pirates arrived. The
Federation Police had trouble dealing with them, until the Galactic Federation
decided to send Space Hunters to take care of the Pirates. This was fine, until
what seemed to be a harmless discovery changed all that. A Federation Science
Vessel found a new lifeform on Planet SR388. This creature - dubbed Metroid -
could feed off others for it's own survival. The Science Vessel was on it's way
home, (with one of the creatures in cryo-stasis) when it was attacked by Space
Pirates from the Planet Zebes. They stole everything, including the Metroid and
took it back to their base on Zebes, where their leader - known as Mother
Brain - used it to created an army to attack Galactic Civilisation. The Pirates
had to be stopped, but the natural fortress of Zebes was too strong for the
Police to infiltrate. In the end, they sent a lone Space Hunter to infiltrate
Zebes - Samus Aran. It was now up to Samus to stop Mother Brain and destroy the
Metroids.
METROID II - RETURN OF SAMUS
In her previous mission, Samus destroyed the Metroids and defeated Mother
Brain. But was it all over? Far from it! The Galactic Federation had now
classed the Metroids as dangerous creatures. But they wanted to find out if any
more were still on SR388. They sent 3 ships to find out, (One to check it out,
one to do the same and find out what happened with the first one and the last
one to annihilate all the Metroids by force) but none of them returned. The
Galactic Federation was worried, until someone came up with the answer - send
Samus Aran to SR388 to wipe out the entire Metroid race. So Samus headed off
for SR388 to make the entire Metroid race extinct. But it was not going to be
easy, for the Metroids she saw on Zebes were only the first stage of their
evolution. They could shed their skins and grow more powerful than ever before.
METROID III - SUPER METROID
At the end of her previous mission, Samus destroyed the Metroid Queen and
discovered a lone Metroid larva who imprinted her as its mother. Samus didn't
destroy it, instead she took it to the Science Space Colony on Ceres, so they
could study it and understand its organic structure. Their findings were
amazing! It seemed that the Metroids may have been created for a peaceful
purpose that could benefit mankind. With the secrets of the Metroids revealed,
Samus' job was complete. She left the Colony to seek a new bounty to hunt, but
had only reached the asteroid belt when she received an SOS signal from Ceres.
Immediately doubling back, she discovered everyone was dead and the Metroid was
missing. Exploring the station, she found Ridley who now had the Metroid with
him. After escaping the Colony, Samus followed Ridley back to a rebuilt Zebes,
where she resolved to finish them off and save the Metroid hatchling. After
exploring all of Zebes (including 3 places she never explored before), she
found Tourian and even more Metroids. After reaching halfway through, she
encountered a giant Metroid who drained her almost to the point of oblivion,
when it released her and flew off, chirping. It was the Metroid hatchling!
After recharging herself, she found Mother Brain and fought her until she
sprouted a new body. After attacking Samus, Mother Brain was about to finish
her off, when the Metroid hatchling attacked HER! After draining Mother Brain,
the hatchling recharged Samus before Mother Brain destroyed her. Samus - fueled
with rage - fired the new weapon the hatchling had given her before it died:
the Hyper Beam! After destroying Mother Brain, Samus escaped before Zebes
exploded. After that, the mission was over...
Well, guess what... SHE'S BACK!!
After 8 whole years of waiting since Super Metroid, Samus has finally came back
to us with not 1 but 2 new games which are incredibly linked (See
Section 10 - Link it up! for full details!) ! And I can tell you...
THE WAIT WAS WORTH IT!!
METROID IV - METROID FUSION
Many years after Zebes was destroyed, Samus was ordered to escort a Biologic
research team to SR388 so that they could safely study the creatures there,
now that the Metroids were gone. However, while checking a nearby cave, Samus
encountered a creature she never seen before, who attacked her and infiltrated
her central nervous system. It wasn't until later, that she found out the
identity of her attacker - the lifeform known as the X Parasite. On their way
back to Biologic Space Labs or B.S.L., Samus lost consciousness and drifted
into an asteroid field, where her ship was destroyed. However, the escape pod
was jettisioned before impact and was recovered by Biologic who took her to
Galactic Federation HQ. During the journey, the X Parasite had multiplied and
was now corrupting large areas of her Power Suit. In the end, parts of her Suit
had to be surgically removed, but since some of the X were still in her body
they couldn't be removed safely. Therefore, she was given a minimal chance of
survival... then a cure was found. By using a cell culture from the Metroid
hatchling, (I presume they got that from Ceres, before it was attacked) they
developed a vaccine and injected it straight away. The vaccine's effects were
immediate and the X Parasites were safely destroyed, however Samus' physical
appearence had been drastically altered. As one life ended, she emerged reborn,
immune to the X Parasites and in a new 'Fusion Suit'. No sooner had she
recovered, she was sent to investigate B.S.L. who had reported explosions
earlier. Samus headed there right away, however as a condition of her taking
the ship, she was to take orders from the ship's computer who was now to be
her new CO. Reflecting on this, it reminded Samus of her old CO...

4. Controls
-----------
The controls are varied, yet Nintendo have tried their best to make them both
comfortable and easy to use.
Here are the controls as they stand:
Control Pad = Move Samus
A Button = Jump
B Button = Fire current Beam
Start Button = Pauses game and accesses Map Screen
Select Button = Not used
L Button = Angle Arm Cannon
R Button = Select Missiles (when standing)
Select Power Bombs (when in Ball form)
Angling the Arm Cannon
----------------------
Samus can still angle her Arm Cannon like she could in Super Metroid, but in a
different way. By holding the L Button, she'll angle the Cannon up. Just push
down while Angling to angle the Cannon down.
Firing while on Ladders or Monkeybars
-------------------------------------
Samus can now fire while hanging onto something. Push away from a ladder to
fire away from the ladder. The same when on monkeybars. Samus can still angle
the Cannon with the L Button.
Sleep Function
--------------
Just like Super Mario Advance, Metroid Fusion has it's own Sleep function which
turns off the GBA's screen and rests it. To activate this function, go to the
Map screen and press the L Button. You'll be asked if you want to use Sleep,
as well as how to turn the function off. Select yes to shut off the GBA's
screen. Press Select, L & R at the same time to turn it back on. It's an
unusual function, but one word of warning: don't use it if your GBA isn't
plugged to the mains, otherwise you might forget that it's on and you'll waste
the batteries from non-playing!

5. Hints & Tips
---------------
* Explore as thoroughly as possible. You never know where you might find a
spare Energy Tank or Missile.
* Pursue X Parasites whenever and wherever possible! Keeping your Energy and
Weapon reserves topped up is a must!
* Save as often as possible! You never know what could happen.
* If you're unsure about what mission you're on, try pressing A on the Map
Screen. If that doesn't help, log into a Navigation Room and review the
Mission Objective.
* BEWARE OF THE SA-X!! This brutal enemy can and will total you if it sees you.
Stay hidden and out of sight (Thank goodness it can't use X-Ray Scope
otherwise you're dead!). If you HAVE to get past it, use an Ice Missile to
freeze it (for about 1 second!!), then scarper!! Listen for it's music, the
telltale heartbeat and it's echoing footsteps so you know it's near!
* Finally, have fun on this one! Samus is back after 8 years, and you'll want
to welcome her back properly!

6. Walkthrough
--------------
This is it... the walkthrough to the best handheld Metroid adventure you'll
ever have! Please note that this walkthrough will have NO SPOILERS whatsoever!
This will simply guide you through the game, point out the items and refer you
to the Bosses section when you face a boss. This will allow you to enjoy the
story for yourself and oh boy, what a story!
So with out further ado... let's get to it!
Quarantine Bay
==============
After the intro, you'll be on Samus' new starship, where you'll be given your
first mission:- Go to the Quarantine Bay and uplink at the Navigation Room
enroute. Afterwards, you'll be outside her ship! Take this time to get used to
the controls and understand how to fire at different altitudes, after all,
accuracy IS important in this game! Once you're done, make your way to the
Navigation Room (You CAN explore the station, but until you unlock some of the
doors, there's not much you can do!).
Once there, login and you'll be reminded about the mission. Once that's done,
head to the Quarantine Bay (as shown on the map). Inside, the door will lock
behind you. There's a single hopper-type enemy in this room. Blast it and it'll
release an X Parasite (a yellow one.). Grab it if you took some damage from it
(which is highly unlikely), then head for the door. It's now unlocked, go
through and head back to the Navigation Room. Login and listen up! After
hearing about X Parasites and collecting them, you'll be given a new
mission:- Head to targeted area and destroy X infestation. After which, ALL
Level 0 hatches (the black doors) will be unlocked! Now you can explore more of
the station!
Infestation and Missiles
========================
Head out of the Navigation Room, go up and through your first black door
(simply shoot it to open it, just like Super Metroid!). You'll find a
hopper-type enemy here. Kill it, grab its X Parasite if you wish and head right
through the next door. You'll reach your first Save Room. Save your game and
head right to a large room. On the far right, there is a secret wall you can
walk through, but without the Morph Ball, you can't explore further. Head up,
past the unsual organism (you can't destroy it, YET) and through the door at
the top to a Navigation Room. Login and listen closely. You now have a small
sub-mission to complete, before you can finish the main one:- Head to Data Room
on Operations Deck and download Missile Data. Head right to an L-shaped room
and head up to the door that's there (don't bother going right, the corridor is
damaged and you can't progress that way). Go through to the elevator and take
it up to the Operations Deck.
When you get there, head left to reach a very large room. The bottom doors lead
to a Recharge Room and a Save Room. The top one leads to the main Operations
Room, but you can't reach that yet. Head through the middle doors to reach a
Navigation Room and the Data Room. Login at the Navigation Room. Once done,
head left to the Data Room and plug yourself in... Congratulations! You can now
use Missiles! Let's get back to our current mission...Head right and something
will happen. Notice the gloom? Login and find out what it is. Once done, head
left. Use the ledges to reach a strange 'panel' that glows red. Since the
elevators are out, this is our only exit. Blast it with a missile, jump in and
head right.
Now we need to make our way down. Blast the green organism with Missiles (about
3 should do...) and make your way down. On the way, you'll get a chance to
experiment with contolling Samus' Arm Cannon when on a ladder. Once you've
passed the wrecked corridor, you'll find your first Missile Tank (there are 47
more to find, we'll try to include them all!)!! Want another one? After
grabbing it, head left and shoot one of the left-hand wall's corners. There
you'll find ANOTHER Missile Tank! Now head right, through the previous room to
another L-shaped room. Head up and save right now (a boss is coming up), then
head right. You'll encounter what I call a Door Guardian. Hit its eye with
Missiles, but jump its shots when it fires. Once defeated, it'll leave a nice
Red X Parasite for a mega recharge. Head right through the door to a large
room. Climb the shafts by using the ledges and jumping from them. Grab your
first Energy Tank while your at it (These WILL help! There are another 19 of
these!)! Now drop down to face your first boss, Arachnus (Check the Bosses
section on how to beat him!). Once he's dead, you'll face a Core-X Ball. It's
these that hold the Core-X Parasites containing your latent abilities! Hit it
with Missiles (one at a time!) until it breaks open. Then grab this Core-X
Parasite and you've just recovered your Morph Ball ability!!
Now, let's clear up a few things, shall we? Head left, through the small
passage and onward, using the ladders to get past the barriers. Eventually,
you'll end up at that secret wall I mention earlier! We should head back to the
Navigation Room, but first, let's access a previously blocked room. Go to that
organism, blast it with Missiles and head in to find a Recharge Room. Now head
back to that first Naviagation Room and login. After hearing the dreadful news,
you'll have a new mission:- Go to Sector 1 (SRX) and login at the Navigation
Room there. Head left to a shaft and head up (Don't bother with the bottom left
door. It leads to Sub-Zero Containment and until Samus has the Varia ability,
she won't be able to withstand the cold). Go through the small Morph Ball
passage mid-way to find another Missile Tank! Head back and up, then all the
way left to the elevator. Take it down and the left wall will be destroyed.
Witness the following cutscene and prepare for a surprise! Once this is over
and Samus has reached the bottom of the elevator shaft, it'll go offline! You
won't be able to go back for quite some time, so head left and use the
Sector 1 Elevator to go to Sector 1 (SRX).
Sector 1 (SRX) and the Atmospheric Stabilizers
==============================================
Welcome to Sector 1 (SRX), a recreation of the SR388 eco-system! Head right and
login at the Navigation Room for your new mission:- Clear all 5 Atmospheric
Stabilizers of the X. After that, head right through both Save and Recharge
Rooms (use them if you wish) to a large room. Since both the left and top-right
doors are locked, head through the right-hand door instead. In this corridor,
kill the amoeba-type enemies and blast another organism with Missiles before
heading right to your first Atmospheric Stabilizer. Make your way there and
blast the pod with Missiles to fix it. The door on the right should unlock, so
go through it to another corridor. Take out the enemies there.
Before heading right, blast the bottom block on the ledge and roll through the
small passageway for an Energy Tank! Now head right to a shaft. Don't go down
yet, head right to find your next Atmospheric Stabilizer. Shoot the wall to go
onward, and head up until you reach a dead end. Shoot the ceiling so you can
head up and right to the Atmospheric Stabilizer. Be careful of the two parts of
the floor, they crumble underneath your feet. Stand in the center of the
platform and fire your Missiles up to take out the pod. Once it's destroyed,
head back to the shaft. Head down and enter the bottom right door to another
shaft. Head right to the Save Room. You can save if you want, just don't forget
the right hand wall. It has a crack in it. Shoot this and do a Morph Ball in
mid-air to go through this hole to a secret shaft. Wall jump up it to find a
Missile Tank!
Head back to the shaft near the second Atmospheric Stabilizer and enter the
middle-left door to a corridor. Be careful of the charging enemies there, they
can only be shot from behind (If they hit you, watch out!). Head all the way
left to yet another shaft. Don't go down yet, head left to a lava-filled room.
Now use the monkeybars (Don't drop in the lava! Samus can't withstand it yet!)
to head left for a Missile Tank! Return to the shaft and head down (Be careful
about the Space Pirates here, they can only be killed with Missiles!) to the
bottom and enter the right-hand door to a single room with a crab-like enemy.
Take it out and head right for the next Atmospheric Stabilizer. Use the ladders
and monkeybars to get past the pits to reach it and blast it with Missiles
(You'll have to fire at it while on a ladder, hope you practiced!).
Once done, head right to a room with a charging enemy (Take him out if you
want, just be careful...). Once done, head right to a shaft, then just head
right again (You can't head down until you have the Screw Attack ability!) to
the next Atmospheric Stabilizer. Use the hanging ledges and the monkeybars to
reach it and blast it with Missiles. Only one more left! Head through the
top-left door to find another Missile Tank! Head back to the Atmospheric
Stabilizer and go through the bottom right door to a shaft. Use the ladders to
climb it, just be careful of the Space Pirates enroute. Head left to a
Barriergate. Just shoot the red switch to open it and head left again to a
corridor. In this water-filled passageway, use the monkeybars to traverse it.
At the end, shoot the wall while on the monkeybars to reveal a passage. Jump to
this from the bottom and head left to a shaft.
You'll see the Door Guardian on the other side of the wall. Stand on the blocks
to drop down and enter the left door to find some hopper-type enemies you can
shoot for refills. Left from there, is a Save Room. Save now (Boss fight coming
up!) and head back to the shaft. Climb up the ladder and destroy the Door
Guardian with Missiles. Head in to reach a large room with a Chozo Statue?!
This isn't real, it's false! Shoot the prize ball and you'll face the next
boss, Core-X Blaster (Check out the Bosses Section on how to beat him!)! Once
he's gone, grab his Core-X Parasite. Well done! You've got your Charge Beam
back! Now you can use the Charged Screw Attack (It won't break blocks that
require the real thing, but it will do...)! Head through the top-right door to
a small room. Blast the ceiling to get out, but before heading through the
door, let's get something special. Grab the monkeybars and face the left wall.
Blast it with 3 Missiles to open a passageway. Go through it and you'll find a
lot of crab-like enemies and a hidden Missile Tank! Head back to that room and
head right for your final Atmospheric Stabilizer! Make your way to it and
blast the wall blocking your access to it. Blast it with Missiles and your
mission is complete!
Head through the bottom-right door to another Barriergate. Open it and head
left to a shaft you might recognize. Now follow the map, back to the Navigation
Room. Login and you'll have a new mission:- Head to Sector 2 (TRO) and login at
the Navigation Room there. Time to leave Sector 1 (SRX), we won't be back here
for quite some time. Take the elevator up and head right to the Sector 2
Elevator. Take it down to Sector 2 (TRO).
Sector 2 (TRO) and the SA-X
===========================
Welcome to Sector 2 (TRO), the tropical habitat! Head right and login at the
Navigation Room for a nasty surprise! From now on, you'll have to watch out for
this new enemy, the SA-X! When ever you hear it's music, it's footsteps and the
telltale heartbeat, BE ON YOUR GUARD!!! Now, onto your new mission:- Unlock
Level 1 Security hatches, go to the Data Room and download Bomb Data. Head
right through both the Save and Recharge Rooms to a large room. Head for the
top-right door to a corridor. Head right to a shaft. Head up and go through the
top-most door. Drop down and plug yourself into the Security Terminal. All
Level 1 hatches (the blue doors) are now unlocked! Now more of the station is
open to you!
Return to the large room and go through the bottom-left door. Go through the
corridor and enter the door at the end. In this room, head for the top-left
door to the Data Room. Plug yourself in and Congratulations! Bombs are now at
your disposal! Exit the room and you'll hear the SA-X's footsteps. Stay where
you are until it's gone. Now head right, bomb the right wall and roll right for
a Missile Tank! Head back and drop down. The SA-X has destroyed the door,
blocking your exit! We'll have to find another way back. Head right and bomb
the floor to a hidden corridor. Head right to the Save Room. Save your game
before heading left (remember, the SA-X will be around, so Save often and be
cautious, just in case...) through the corridor to a shaft. Here, bomb the
block to make a metal pillar rise so you can reach the top and shoot the left
wall. You'll find a Missile Tank here, but to reach it, you have to bomb the
floor until a metal pillar rises. Use this to reach the Missile Tank!
Return to the shaft and go through the small passages, bombing the blocks on
the way. Do the same heading down until you reach the end of the shaft. Head
left to a small shaft. Go down it and head right to a large room. Go down to
the bottom, bombing the floors on the way and go to the bottom-left corner of
the room. Bomb the edge of the right-hand ledge to reveal a passage. Roll
through it and drop down to find another Missile Tank! To get out, shoot the
ceiling and climb up. Go through the right door to reach a corridor. Get past
the pits (to get past the middle one, bomb the floor until a metal pillar rises
to assist you) and head right to a shaft. Head right to another corridor with
some enemies you can shoot for refills. Head right to the Save Room and save
your game. Now head back to the shaft, head up and enter the 2nd door on the
right to a corridor. Head through the door at the end to a smal shaft. Here,
head right to the Save Room, head right again to a small room and head right
once again to a room with an Energy Tank! Head back to the Save Room, save your
game and head back to the small shaft.
Bomb the floor to proceed downwards and head right to a corridor. At the end,
bomb the corner and you'll see the Door Guardian. To get to him, retrace your
steps to where you got that Energy Tank (near the Save Room), and bomb the
floor. Destroy him with Missiles and enter for your next Boss, Cyclopsmouth
(Check the Bosses Section on how to beat him!). Once he's defeated and his
Core-X Ball cracked, grab the Core-X Parasite and you've recovered both High
Jump & Jumpball abilities! Make your way back to the long shaft only to find
that the door leading to there has been destroyed. Bomb the rubble to find a
passage downwards. Once there, stay where you are! The SA-X will appear! Wait
until it's gone before moving right and bombing the floor to drop down. Head
left to reach the long shaft. Head up and through the door to the left to a
water-filled room. Jump up to the monkeybars and head left across them to find
a Missile Tank! Want another one? Drop into the water and bomb the floor until
a metal pillar rises. Use this to enter the small passage to the door. Enter it
to find a Missile Tank! To get it, bomb the floor until another metal pillar
rises, jump on that and jump in Morph Ball form to the block and bomb it. Once
it's clear, jump to the gap and climb into it before dropping down to the
Missile Tank itself! Head back to the long shaft (To get out, bomb the block
to make a metal pillar rise and use that to get to the passage) and climb up it
to the top. Head left through a room to a shaft. Use the ledges to climb it,
but when you hang onto the right-hand ledge, pull up into the gap and bomb the
wall to go right. There you'll find a hidden Missile Tank!
Head back to the shaft and roll left through the small gap to end up back at
the large room near the Recharge Room! Head for the top-right door to a small
room. Bomb the wall until a gap is made. Go through this gap and bomb right
to reach another hidden Missile Tank! Now, head back to the Navigation Room
and login for some nasty news and a new Mission:- Head for Sector 4 (AQA) and
login at the Navigation Room there. Time to leave Sector 2 (TRO) for now. Head
back to the elevator and take it back to the Main Deck. Then head for the
Sector 4 Elevator and take it to Sector 4 (AQA)
Sector 4 (AQA) and Its Shocking Currents
========================================
Welcome to Sector 4 (AQA), the water enviroment. Head right and login at the
Navigation Room for your new Mission:- Proceed to targeted area and engage
Serris. Head left through both Save and Recharge Rooms to a large room. Head
for the bottom-left door to a small room. Go through that to another large
room. Head up and bomb the blocks to access the monkeybars. Use them, then
drop down onto a block. Try to stay on the blocks as the water is electrified!
Head for the gap in the ceiling to reach a small corridor connected to a small
shaft. There's a Save Room to the right of the shaft (You can save there if you
want to). Wall jump up to the top and bomb the length of wall to make a
passage. Roll through and bomb another bit of wall to expose some ladders.
While your there, roll into the small gap and bomb it for a hidden Missile
Tank! Jump onto the ladder, blast the nearby wall with Missiles and crawl into
the gap revealed. Roll left, drop down and head right to a wall. Don't drop
down just yet, jump up to the wall and blast it right to reveal a passage that
leads to a Missile Tank you passed on the way up!
Now drop down and return to the large room you went through to get here. Go
through this room to the far right-hand door. In this room, go through the top
left door to reach another corridor-like room. Head up this to the door at the
top (There's also a Save Room on the left) to find an Energy Tank! You can't go
up this shaft from here, so retrace your steps back to the room earlier. Now
head through the bottom-left door to another large room with electrified water.
Shoot the block above you, enter the gap and bomb the row of blocks to reveal
some handy monkeybars. Use them to get to the other side and jump up to another
small shaft. Climb up the left ladder, but don't jump right (you can't go up
any further). Instead keep climbing, so you enter a secret passage left where
there a hidden Missile Tank! Now head back down to the water-filled room. From
there, bomb the left wall so you can reach the far left door. Enter it to get
to a tall shaft.
Shoot the block above you and use the ladders and monkeybars to climb up, while
shooting anything suspicious to progress upward. Be careful though, as there
are some hidden floors that crumble. Once at the top, head right to the Save
Room. Save now (Boss fight coming up!), blast the cracked block and head right
to the top of the shaft where you found that hidden Missile Tank. Bomb the
blocks and head right to find... the skeletal remains of Serris (looks like the
X got him too!)! Head right to the shaft where you found that Energy Tank.
Climb up it, destroy the Door Guardian and head right to a large room
half-filled with water. Climb up above the water and prepare for your next
Boss, Serris-X (Check the Bosses Section on how to beat him!)! Once he's dead,
grab his Core-X Parasite and you've recovered the Speed Booster ability!
With that, let's see about draining the electrified water, eh? Head right to a
corridor and head to the far right (you might see how the Speed Booster kicks
in during your sprint). Bomb the left wall to allow access to the contained
area. Blast all the enemies, then run full pelt from the far left until you
drop back into the room where you found those two Missile Tanks! From there,
return to the shaft that you had to climb using the ladders and monkey bars.
Enter the left door to reach the Pumping Room. To access the controls, run at
full pelt to break the wall blocking the way. Login to the terminal and the
water has just been drained! Now let's explore what the electrified water
prevented you accessing!
Drop down, jump on to the ladder and leap at the enclosed area there to reach
a Missile Tank! Now get back up to the door by shooting the floor above and
head right back to a room that previously had water. Drop to the ground and
start running from the left (watch that wire!) so you bash right through the
right wall. In this hidden corridor, you'll find a hidden Missile Tank emersed
in water! After that, head back to the previous room, turn around and start
running at full pelt so you bash through two walls and end up at the beginning
of the large room. From there, head back to the first large room in the Sector
and enter the bottom-right door. Drop down and enter the left door to a
corridor. Don't bother with the organism (your Missiles aren't strong enough!)
and roll down to two doors. Leave the left one and enter the right one instead
to reach another corridor. Head as far right as you can to find a Missile
Tank!
Well, that's all we can do for Sector 4 (AQA). Head back to the Navigation Room
and login for a new mission:- Head for Sector 3 (PYR) and login at the
Navigation Room there. Time to leave Sector 4 (AQA) for now. Head right and
take the elevator back to the Main Deck. Head left to the Sector 3 Elevator and
take it to Sector 3 (PYR).
Sector 3 (PYR) and the Security Robot
=====================================
Welcome to Sector 3 (PYR), the hottest area on the Station! Head right to the
Navigation Room and login for your new mission:- Unlock Level 2 Security
hatches, go to the Data Room and download the Super Missile Data. Head through
both Save and Recharge Rooms to reach a large room. Don't enter the middle-left
door as Samus can't stand the heat there. Instead, blast the walls at the
bottom, then run from the right door leftwards to smash a wall on the way. From
there, try firing at the floor until some of it disappears. Drop down there and
blast the ceiling until you reveal a hidden Missile Tank! Now return to that
corridor and start running from the right. When the Speed Booster kicks in, do
a somersault into the blocks above the green door. Jump into that gap and bomb
the left wall to reveal a small passage. Roll left to find the Security
Terminal. Plug yourself in and voila! All Level 2 hatches (the green doors) are
now unlocked! More of the station is now available!
When you exit the Security Room, enemies will now appear. Clear them out, then
run full pelt from the left and somersault at the wall to get through it. Head
right back to the large room. Now head right to reach a shaft. Climb onto the
first platform and take out the snake-head there. Now head right to drop behind
the Barriergate. Blast it open, then run full pelt from the left rightwards so
you can demolish the blocks in the next room. Move left in this little pit
until part of the floor collapses beneath you and drops you into a little room.
Head right to a shaft. Drop down it and leave the left door for now. Head right
to a small room. Jump on top of the large block and shoot the centre of it to
find a hidden Missile Tank! Return to the shaft and climb it to the top. The
way right has been destroyed, so head left to a small room. Bomb the top block
and roll through this top passage (ignore the bottom one, it drops you into the
room below) collecting a Missile Tank on the way! Bomb the block at the end and
hop into the passage revealed. Bomb the next block and hop into the passage
there too. Roll right and bomb the block to get out (and get past that organism
too!).
Head right to another corridor and head from that to a backwards L-shaped room.
Head right to the Data Room and plug yourself in. Congratulations! You now have
Super Missiles! Your Missile's power will now triple! After download, something
will rock the station. Head left through the previous room to a corridor.
You'll now find a hole. Drop down it and right to a Save Room. Right from there
is a Recharge Room and right from there is a Missile Tank blocked by a new type
of organism. You'll need Super Missiles to destroy this (and you just happen to
have some!). Destroy it and grab the Missile Tank! Use the Recharge Room and
Save your game (Boss fight is coming up!). Head left and climb up out of the
hole and head left to the wrecked door. Another rumble will rock the station!
Head back to the Data Room's door and prepare for your next Boss, Security
Robot (Check the Bosses section on how to beat it!). Once you've beaten it,
it'll take off. Run to the Data Room's door and debris will fall. Use this
debris to climb up to the top and enter a hidden corridor. Head left to another
L-shaped room. Drop down and bomb the block to get through. When you reach the
middle of the corridor, bomb the floor to make a metal pillar rise. Jump from
that pillar in Ball form and bomb the ceiling to find a hidden Energy Tank!
Now, bomb the blocks and roll left to end up back at the large room! Head for
the Navigation Room and login for a new mission:- Head for Sector 6 (NOC) and
login at the Navigation Room there. Time to leave Sector 3 (PYR) for now, but
we will be back here later! For now head left and take the elevator to the
Main Deck. On the way, a cutscene will play. After you arrive at the Main Deck,
head right to the Sector 6 Elevator and take it to Sector 6 (NOC).
Sector 6 (NOC) and the Blue X Parasites
=======================================
Welcome to Sector 6 (NOC), the night habitat! Head right and login at the
Navigation Room there for your new mission:- Head for the Data Room and
download the Varia Suit Data. Throughout this Sector, there are Blue X
Parasites. You have to avoid them until you get the data. If you touch one,
you'll take damage from absorption! Now, head right through both Save and
Recharge Rooms to an L-shaped room. Head right to a large room and drop down.
While you're there, bomb the left wall and enter the passage there to find a
Missile Tank! Head back and blast the organism with Missiles. Bomb the right
wall and enter the passage to a small room. Bomb the top area of the wall, roll
through it and bomb the floor at the end to find an Energy Tank! Return and
head through the top-right door to a corridor. You'll encounter your first
Blue X Parasite here. Remember, avoid it until you have the Varia! You CAN stun
it with your beam though, but only for a short while!
Head right to a shaft. Stun that Blue X Parasite, head all the way down and
head right to a large room. Make your way to the bottom-left door, avoiding
Blue X Parasite enroute. Enter it to reach a corridor. Run left at full pelt to
bash through the wall at the end. Drop down and head right to find some enemies
you can shoot for refills (if the Blue X Parasites hit you on the way). There's
also a Save Room to the right. Save for now and head back left til you reach a
small room with an Energy Tank! Bomb the floor to reveal a passage downwards.
Head down and head right to a corridor. Head right and bomb the floor before
rolling left. The SA-X will enter the room!! Follow it until it curls up to use
a Power Bomb, then head left and stay left until it's gone!! Now head right and
drop down before heading left to a corridor. Bomb the wall and head left to the
door. Enter to find a shaft. Head left and Save your game (Boss fight coming
up!). Back in the shaft head down and bomb the floor to find a passage left.
Roll left, climb up the ledge and bomb two blocks to find a hidden Missile Tank
therein!
Now head right to a corridor. Head right to find a Door Guardian. Blast it with
Missiles and head right to the Data Room. A Core-X Ball will be there and will
steal the Varia Data (OI! COME BACK HERE!)! Head right to confront this Core-X
Ball, who will become your next Boss, GiantCore-X (Check the Bosses Section on
how to beat him!)! Once he's gone, grab his Core-X Parasite and prepare for a
Suit change! You've just recovered the Varia Suit ability! Now those Blue X
Parasites will be helpful rather than harmful! Head right to a long shaft. Then
head right to another long shaft. There's a Save Room right from here. Climb up
this shaft and head left to find a Missile Tank! As soon as you grab it, you'll
drop down so push hard left so you can grab the ledge on the way. Roll right
and shoot the ceiling for another Missile Tank! Return to the second long shaft
and climb up it again, this time heading right to a small shaft. Climb up it
and head right to be back in the large room again!
Now let's grab one last thing before we go! Head through the top-left door to
a shaft. Climb up it and enter the door on your right. Head right through the
corridor and exit right to find a Missile Tank... or is it? Approach it and
it'll become a flying enemy. Destroy this imposter with a Missile. But where is
the real Missile Tank? Bomb the right wall to find it in a hidden room! Now
head back to the Navigation Room and login for your new mission:- Head to
Sector 5 (ARC) and login at the Navigation Room there. Time to leave
Sector 6 (NOC) for now. Head left and take the elevator to the Main Deck. From
there head left to the Sector 5 Elevator and take it to Sector 5 (ARC).
Sector 5 (ARC) and the Ice Missiles
===================================
Welcome to Sector 5 (ARC), the arctic enviroment! Head right to the Navigation
Room and login for a new mission:- Unlock Level 3 Security hatches, go to the
Data Room and download the Ice Missile Data. Head right past both Save and
Recharge Rooms to a shaft. Go down a grab onto the leftmost ladder. Climb to
the top of it and fire your beam right. Then fire a Missile after it to reveal
a passage. Go into this passage to find a door. Head right to a large room.
Drop to the bottom and make your way to the right-hand door. Enter it to reach
a large icy room. Normally, Samus wouldn't be able to stand this, but the Varia
Suit keeps her safe. Make your way downward and enter the only door accessable
to you. Open the door behind you and head left until you reach the Barriergate.
Run right at full pelt until you break the floor in the previous room. Head
downwards and enter the right-hand door at the bottom to a small room. Bomb the
walls to reach the door and head right to a shaft. Drop down and shoot the
floor to drop down further. Head left to a Save Room. Save for now and head
left again to reach a corridor. Head all the way left until you reach the
Security Room. Plug yourself in and ta-da! All the Level 3 hatches (the yellow
doors) are now unlocked! Even more of the station is open to you!
Now leave through the left door to a long shaft. Climb the shaft to the top and
blast the ceiling to get out. Now head through the right door to a Save Room.
Save for now and head right to a familiar corridor. Open the Barriergate and
head right to that large icy room again. Now head for the second door on the
right to find a Barriergate. Open it, head right to the Data Room and plug
yourself in. Congratulations! You've got Ice Missiles! Now you can freeze your
enemies! Head right to a small room. Bomb the floor and drop down. Now climb
back up and freeze the topmost Ripper so you can use it to reach the door. Head
left to find another fake power-up, this time it's an Energy Tank. Destroy it
and bomb the wall on the left to find the real Energy Tank! Return to the shaft
and drop all the way down. Now roll and jump towards the right wall to find a
hidden shaft. Blast the ceiling and destroy the enemy, but don't grab his X
Parasite! Instead, avoid it until it transforms into a flyer-type enemy. Freeze
it so you can use it to reach the ledge. Destroy the enemy above you, but don't
grab his X Parasite either. Wait until it becomes a Ripper then freeze it when
it's underneath the top alcove. Jump on it and shoot up to reveal a hidden
Missile Tank!
Return to the shaft and head left to a small room. Freeze the enemy when it's
transformed and fire at the ceiling. Head left through the door to a corridor.
Destroy the enemy twice and let it infest the bulbous pod. Open the left door,
freeze the mutated pillar and run from the right at full pelt leftwards, so you
destroy the wall in the next room. Climb up to the right-hand door and head
right back to the large icy room again. Head back up until you're at the point
where there's a floor requiring the Speed Booster. Shoot the right-hand wall
and head right to a hidden shaft. Climb it and shoot the left wall to reveal a
passage. Roll through this passage to end up above the floor requiring the
Speed Booster. Head for the top-left door to reach the first large room.
Something just flown by! You'll see what that was later. Head to the
middle-left door but don't enter it yet! Turn around and approach the flyer.
When it's at the top of its jump, freeze it, jump on to it and jump up to the
ledge. Freeze the next flyer in the same way too. Jump on to it, jum up to the
next ledge and head left to a small room. Here you'll find a Missile Tank!
Return to the large room and head through the bottom-left door to find a lot of
enemies. Destroy the big one using Missiles and bomb the top-right corner of
the room to find a hidden Missile Tank!
Head left and you'll hear a warning: "EMERGENCY IN SECTOR 3!". Head for the
Navigation Room and login to find out what's wrong. You'll be given a new
mission:- Proceed to the Control Room left of the Main Boiler and activate
the cooling unit. This mission is timed, so you've got 6 minutes until the
station blows! I will try to direct you in the quickest way possible!
Sector 3 (PYR) and the Main Boiler
==================================
Quickly head left and take the elevator up to the Main Deck and head right.
Now take the Sector 3 Elevator to Sector 3 (PYR). Head right past all the
Rooms to the large room. Go down to the bottom and head right to the
Barriergate. Use the passage you used earlier to get on the other side of the
Barriergate. Open it then run from the left at full pelt to get through the
floor in the next room. Drop down through the crumbling blocks to the door and
head right to the long shaft. Drop ALL the way down and head left to a hot
room. Use the monkeybars to get past the lava and head left into a shaft.
Freeze the snakeheads to climb up this shaft and head right to a small room.
Just head right from here to another shaft. You'll need to make the snakeheads
extend before you freeze them in order to climb this shaft, but do it quickly!
Head left into a large room. We need to traverse this quickly! Jump on the
platforms and freeze the snakehead on the left. Climb up and head right. Then
head up and freeze the snakehead there. Head left and freeze the snakehead
there before jumping the crumbling blocks. Drop down and head left through to
a small room. Head left from there to the Main Boiler itself. Climb up it's
ledges to reach the top-left door. Destroy the Door Guardian there and head
left to the Main Boiler Control Room. You'll find someone manning the controls.
Shoot him and he'll become your next Boss, Core-X Blaster2 (Check the Bosses
Section on how to beat him!). Once he's gone, grab his Core-X Parasite. Well
done! You got your Wide Beam back! But don't celebrate just yet! The Boiler is
still on critical! Login at the Control Console and the timer will then stop!
You did it! You saved the station!
Now we should head back to the Navigation Room, but let's grab something before
we go, eh? Head back to the room where you had two ways to go. Bomb the bottom
one and roll left to drop back at the room that needed the Speed Booster! Now
head left back to the large room. Go through the middle-left door to reach a
hot corridor. Use the monkeybars to get past the lava and head left to a small
room where you'll find a Missile Tank! Now bomb the left wall to find a large
room. Shoot all the blocks away so to clear a path and start from the small
room. Run full pelt towards the wall but crouch just before you reach the wall.
Now press jump to perform a Super Power Jump to break through those ceiling
blocks. You'll spot an Energy Tank on the way. To get this, you have to be fast
and accurate. Start off another Speed Booster run and crouch to charge yourself
with energy. Now quickly wall-jump up and press jump when you're near the
Energy Tank to jump near it. Push right to land on the ledge grab your well
deserved prize! Now head back to the Navigation Room and login for a new
mission:- Head for Habitation Deck and look for survivors. Not only that, but
the Main Elevator is back online!! Now you can return to the rest of the Main
Deck! Head left and use the elevator to take it up to the Main Deck. Then head
right and take the Main Elevator to the rest of the Main Deck.
Main Deck and Old Friends
=========================
Welcome back to the Main Deck. Before we head for the Habitation Deck, let's
grab something, OK? Head right from the Main Elevator to a corridor. Head to
the door there, then turn around and run at full pelt leftwards until you bash
through a wall in a hidden area. There you'll find a Missile Tank! Now head for
the shaft next to the first Navigation Room and enter the top-left door. Take
the elevator to the Habitation Deck. Once there, head right to a Save Room and
save your game for now. Head back to the elevator and head left to a shaft.
Climb it by freezing both snakeheads when their outstretched and head through
the topmost door. Head left to the Barriergate (You might notice something as
well.. Check the Secrets Section to find out!) and shoot the floor. Drop down,
shoot the floor again and drop down to find a Missile Tank! Open the nearby
Barriergate and head right, back to the shaft. Climb it again to the top and
head through the topmost door. Head left and shoot the floor again, only this
time when you drop down, shoot the left wall and head right, opening the
Barriergate on the way. Now run full pelt to the left so you bash some of the
floor and drop down below. Jump into the secret wall on the left and head right
to a hidden shaft. Climb it to the top by freezing the snakeheads to help you
get to each ladder. Once at the top, head right and login at the console to
free your Friends. Head right to the shaft and drop down. From here, head for
the first Navigation Room and login. After the briefing, you'll have a new
mission: Head for Sector 5 (ARC), go to the Data Room and download the Power
Bomb Data. Head for the Main Elevator and take it down to the Sector Elevators.
Then head left and take the Sector 5 Elevator to Sector 5 (ARC).
Sector 5 (ARC) and the Power Bombs
==================================
Welcome back to Sector 5 (ARC). Head right and login at the Navigation Room
there for an update. Then head right through both Save and Recharge Rooms to
a shaft. Drop to the bottom of it and go left to a small room. You'll find a
Missile Tank here. To grab it, jump from below until you find a secret floor,
then just hop in to grab it! Now head right through the shaft and the small
room to the large room. Make your way to the bottom-right door and go in to
the large icy room. Head for the door below the red door and go through to find
a Barriergate. Open it, go right to find the Data Room and plug yourself in.
Well done! You can now use Power Bombs! With Power Bombs, more of the station
is open to you as well as finding hidden secrets!
Head right to a small room. Shoot the floor and drop ALL the way down. Head
left to a small room. Drop a Power Bomb to blast away the floor and drop down.
Head left to a corridor. Run left a bit and you'll hear the SA-X come in!!
Quickly jump over the wall and stay there! The SA-X will stay in the room and
move back and forth! You have to get out of there! Wait until the SA-X is at
the far right and has stopped moving, then drop a Power Bomb and hope to God
that it doesn't get hit by it! When it goes off, quickly jump into the top
passage and roll left before it sees you! Then head left to get away from the
SA-X...for now. In this room, use a Power Bomb to open the way up and gain
access to your first Power Bomb Tank while you're at it (there are another 31
of these!)! Now climb up and drop another Power Bomb to blow the ceiling. Climb
up and freeze the Rippers and use them to climb the shaft and reach the topmost
door. Head right to enter a small room where another Power Bomb Tank is waiting
for you!
Head back to the shaft and drop down and head left to the Level 3 Security Room
and head left again to a shaft. Climb it and head right to a Save Room. Save
for now and head right to a corridor. Open the Barriergate and head right to an
organism. Missiles won't damage this thing, only a Power Bomb can shift it!
Drop one and blow it away! Then head right to the large icy room. Jump up so
you can see another organism and drop another Power Bomb to destroy it. Head
left to a corridor. There's a Power Bomb Tank at the end, but to get it you
have to freeze the Rippers and use them to get past the hidden crumbling floor.
If you want to see them, drop 2 Power Bombs where the Rippers are. Once you got
past them, jump for it and try to grab the ledge when the floor crumbles. If
you did it, then grab your well deserved Power Bomb Tank!
That's all we can do for now, so head for the Navigation Room and login for a
new mission:- Return to your ship for some important information. Let's leave
Sector 5 (ARC) for now. Head left and take the elevator to the Main Deck. Then
take the Main Elevator up. Halfway there, the Main Elevator breaks down (Don't
you just hate it when that happens?)! To get out, bomb the right wall and roll
right to a hidden passage. Make your way right and roll through the hidden
passage above to find...Ridley?! Approach him and a Core-X Parasite will fly
from him (Expect a reunion later, perhaps?)! Drop into the hole to a hidden
corridor. Drop a Power Bomb and roll left through the revealed passage. At the
end, drop another Power Bomb to reveal a hidden Power Bomb Tank! Head back
right and run at full pelt to bash through some blocks underneath the main
corridor. While you're there, drop a Power Bomb to reveal a hidden Missile
Tank! Now shoot up to get into the main corridor. From there, head back to your
ship and board her for a new mission:- Make your way to the targeted area and
turn on the Auxiliary Power System. After the briefing, you'll be back outside.
Main Deck and the Main Core Reactor
===================================
Be on your guard for this mission (you'll see soon enough)! Head left through
the corridor to a shaft. Watch out for these mosquito-type enemies, they can
hit you pretty hard! Once at the shaft, use a Power Bomb to blow the left wall.
Head left to a long shaft. Drop ALL the way down by shooting the floor and head
right to the Main Core Reactor. Head through the top-right door to a corridor.
You'll face some Space Pirates here. Head right to find an Energy Tank!
Continue right to a large room with lots of Space Pirates. After encountering
your third Space Pirate, don't go down yet. Instead bomb the left wall and roll
left to find a Missile Tank! Now continue down until you reach a Door Guardian.
Blow it away and head left where you'll drop down and face your next Boss,
RoboSpider (Check the Bosses Section on how to beat him!)! Once he's gone, grab
his Core-X Parasite you've just recovered your Space Jump ability! Now you can
really fly! Space Jump up to the passage and head left to the Auxiliary Power
Station. Login and the auxiliary power will kick in! The Save, Recharge and
and Navigation Rooms can now be used. But the doors will remain locked!
Head left to the Navigation Room and login for a new mission:- Find out the
source of the vegetation and destroy it. Head left to the Barriergate and open
it before heading left again to the Main Core Reactor. Be careful, as there are
mosquito-type enemies who can easily overwhelm you if given the chance.
Recharge yourself by killing them and then head for the bottom-right door to
the Save Room. Save now (you'll see why)! Head to the far left of the Main Core
Reactor and climb up until you see a small gap heading left. Blast the
vegetation and Space Jump up to it and roll left, bombing the roots on the way.
Sector 2 (TRO) and the Big Root
===============================
Welcome back to Sector 2 (TRO)! But now is not the time to relax. As soon as
you enter, you'll hear the SA-X! What now follows has to be performed quickly,
accurately and with no mistakes otherwise you won't make it! Here we go:
Drop down and hit the SA-X with an Ice Missile. You'll stop it (for 1 second!!)
but it will resume! Quickly hit again and run left and immediately drop a Power
Bomb. Keep slowing the SA-X down with Ice Missiles and head left. You'll reach
some Barriergates. Slow down the SA-X with an Ice Missile while opening each
Barriergate and head left. Once at the dead end, grab the ledge and roll into
the alcove! The SA-X will enter, wait, then leave (Phew!!!)!
Now you have to survive the mosquito-type enemies with what energy you had left
from earlier! Climb out of the alcove and head back to the previous room. Blast
the block near the root with a Missile and bomb the floor downwards. Drop down
and head left to a shaft. Climb up while watching for mosquito-type enemies and
head for the left-hand wall. Shoot downwards to drop near a door and head left
to a small shaft. Head left again to a large room. Space Jump up to the top,
but just as you pass the right wall, shoot it and jump in. Shoot the next right
wall and head right for a Power Bomb Tank! Get out and head through the
top-right door to a Save Room. Save your game now (I don't think you want to go
through THAT again! Plus there's a Boss coming up!) and head right to the long
shaft. Head right again to a corridor. Shoot the ceiling above you and Space
Jump up. Shoot through the vegetation on the way right and jump up to find a
Door Guardian. Destroy it with Missiles and head right to a large room. You'll
drop down and find the source of the vegetation and your next Boss, Big Root
(Check the Bosses Section on how to beat it!)! Once defeated grab its Core-X
Parasite. Well done! You got your Plasma Beam back! Now those enemies can be
penetrated easily (Mwa ha ha ha ha!)! With Big Root destroyed, the Main Core
Reactor goes back online and all the doors you've unlocked previously become
active again! Hurray!
Before we leave Sector 2 (TRO), let's get a few things now that we have the
Space Jump, eh? Head right to a small shaft, drop down and head left to the
corridor we entered earlier. Head left to the long shaft and head left to the
Save Room. Save your game for now, and head left to a large room. Drop down to
the bottom and head left to a long shaft. Climb up to the top-left door that
was blocked by a pod. Head left to a shaft with Rippers. Jump onto the
monkeybars and move all the way left. Fire an Ice Missile down to freeze the
first Ripper. Drop onto it and freeze the second Ripper with an angle-down Ice
Missile. Use the Morph Ball to jump between the Rippers before they thaw and
grab the Power Bomb Tank! Want another one? When you grab the first one, you'll
drop down and land on an invisible block. Bomb it to reveal another Power Bomb
Tank! After that, bomb the right wall to get out. Return to the long shaft,
drop down and head right back to the large room. Space Jump up and head right
through the Save Room to the long shaft. Climb to the top and head right to a
small room. Jump at the left wall to grab a hidden ledge and roll right to a
hidden room. Run to the right wall, jump up and shoot the right side of the
overhanging wall to reveal a hidden Energy Tank! Return to the shaft and head
left to a small corridor. Run through and roll right through the small passage
to end up at the first large room! Power Bomb the block to drop down.
Head back to the Navigation Room and login for a new mission:- Head to
Sector 5 (ARC) and login at the Navigation Room there. Let leave Sector 2 (TRO)
for now. Head left to the elevator and take it up to the Main Deck. Head left
and take the Sector 5 Elevator to Sector 5 (ARC).
Sector 5 (ARC) and the "Nightmare"
==================================
Welcome back to Sector 5 (ARC)! Head right and login at the Navigation Room for
a new mission:- Find "Nightmare"'s location and destroy it. Head right through
both Save and Recharge Rooms to a shaft. Drop down and head right through the
small room to a large room. Head for the top of the room and open the top-left
door, but don't go through it! Instead head to the far right and turn around.
Start running at full pelt and just before reaching the edge, crouch to charge
the Booster energy. Now press jump then left to charge leftwards and bash
through a wall in the next room to find a Power Bomb Tank! Head back to the
large room and head for the bottom-right door to what was a large icy room.
Head right through the topmost door to a small room. Shoot the ceiling and jump
up to a hidden small room. Head right to reach one of the connecting corridors
that circle the station. Head right to arrive at the connecting corridor for
Sector 3 (PYR) and bomb the top-left corner. Jump up and shoot the right block
for a hidden Power Bomb Tank! Head back left through the corridor to
Sector 5 (ARC) and head left to the hidden small room. Drop a Power Bomb, then
jump up to a hidden shaft. Head left and shoot the ceiling, then jump up and
head right. Shoot the ceiling and Space Jump up to it. Open the right
Barriergate, drop back down and head left. Shoot the ceiling there and Space
Jump up to it. Open the left Barriergate, bomb the right wall and keep bombing
until you reveal a hidden Power Bomb Tank!
Head back down to the small room (not the hidden one) and head right to another
small room (it's above the Data Room). Head right to a long corridor. Go all
the way to the end and head right to a shaft. Bomb the floor and drop down into
some water. You'll be slow because of the water. Head right to a large room.
Make your way to the top-left door to a small shaft. Head right to a large
room. Shoot the ceiling and jump up. Head left to a small room. Drop a Power
Bomb to reveal a hidden Power Bomb Tank! Head back to the large room and climb
up to the top-right door. Before entering, drop a Power Bomb to reveal a
passage in the left wall. Roll through this passage and jump partway there to
enter a hidden passage. Bomb the left wall to find a hidden Power Bomb Tank!
Head left to find a hidden Recharge Room. Recharge yourself and head back to
the large room. Now head through the top-right door to a Save Room. Save your
game now (Boss is coming up!) and head back to the large room. Enter the
middle-right door to an L-shaped room. Climb to the top of it and you'll find a
Door Guardian. Destroy it with Missiles and head right to a small room. Don't
go straight for the Energy Tank!! Drop a Power Bomb to reveal a safer passage
to it! Now roll left and drop down. You'll now face your next Boss,
Nightmare-X (Check the Bosses Section on how to beat it!)! Once it's defeated,
grab its Core-X Parasite and prepare for another Suit change! You've just
recovered the Gravity Suit ability! Now water won't slow you down and lava
can't damage you!
Now that you have the Gravity Suit, let's grab a couple of things, shall we?
Head to the right, turn around and run full pelt leftwards to bash through the
wall in the upcoming corridor. Head left to the large room and head through the
bottom-left door to a shaft. Drop down and head right to another large room.
Head down, open the bottom-right door and head for the bottom-left door. Now
run full pelt rightwards so you bash through the walls in the next room. Now
head back to the door and run full pelt until the Speed Booster kicks in. When
it does, crouch, head for the gap between the walls and press jump to
sky-rocket up into a hidden passage. There, you'll find a Power Bomb Tank! Head
back to the large room and head left to a shaft. Climb up it and grab the ledge
on the right-hand wall. Somersault off this and fire a Missile inline with the
alcove at the left hand wall to reveal a passage. Head into this to find an
Energy Tank, but to reach it you have to jump in Ball form across the floors
(be careful, some of them crumble). Don't resort to dropping a Power Bomb to
see them or a metal pillar will rise, shutting off your way to it! Just
patiently hop across them to reach your goal!
That's it for Sector 5 (ARC)! We should head for the Navigation Room but the
way there is cut off by blocks that need the Screw Attack! We'll have to take a
detour through Sector 4 (AQA), but with the Gravity Suit that's not a problem
right? Head back to the shaft and head through the bottom-right door to a large
room. Run to the right-hand door and open it, then run to the left-hand door.
Now run full pelt leftwards until you bash those two walls again. Now head on
right. We're leaving Sector 5 (ARC) far behind!
Sector 4 (AQA) and the Diffusion Missiles
=========================================
Welcome back to Sector 4 (AQA)! Now that we have the Gravity Suit, we can
explore this underwater area more fully! From when you entered, run at full
pelt rightwards and somersault through the wall when you reach the edge. Now
head right to an underwater shaft. Head right from there to a Save Room. Save
for now and head back to the shaft. Drop down and jump at the left wall until
you grab a hidden ledge. Roll in left to find a hidden Power Bomb Tank! Head
back right to the shaft and head right to a corridor. Shoot through the blocks
to find at the end a Missile Tank! Head back left to the shaft and drop down
to the bottom. Head left to a corridor. Move left and when you reach the left
part of the tube, bomb the ceiling, then blast it with Missiles. Jump up and
right to get into the hidden corridor. Jump for the right alcove and roll right
to find a Power Bomb Tank! Head back and now jump for the left alcove and bomb
the left wall. Roll left, then head left to another hidden corridor. Head all
the way left and bomb the floor, then drop down to a hidden room. Bomb the 3rd
block from the left and drop down to a maze of tunnels. Make your way around
these (just watch the fish to find secret walls) until you reach the
bottom-left corner. Bomb the block and drop down into the Security Room. Plug
yourself in and that's it! All of the Level 4 hatches (the red doors) are now
unlocked! With the red doors unlocked with the others, the ENTIRE STATION IS
NOW ACCESSIBLE!!
Head right to a shaft. Climb up to the alcove and roll into a ball. Jump
against the right wall until you roll through into a hidden shaft. Drop down,
drop a Power Bomb and jump back up. Some of the X Parasites will become newer
enemies. Blast the two Missile blocks and blow away both enemies to unlock the
door. Head right to a small room. Bomb the top blocks as the last one has a
hidden Energy Tank! Head back to the shaft, climb to the top and head right
into a corridor. Head right again into a shaft. Head right once more to another
corridor. Move right and when you reach the tube, drop a Power Bomb. Drop down
the gap to find a hidden Missile Tank! Head back up and head right to a shaft.
Climb to the top and head right to a small room. Head right again to a large
room. Head through the bottom-right door to a Save Room. Save for now and head
back to the large room. Climb to the top, freeze the balloon-type enemy and
head right to an L-shaped shaft. Head right again to a corridor and move to the
wierd pillar. Now run full pelt leftwards WHILE SHOOTING to take out the blocks
in the large room. Drop down and head right to a corridor. Run through the
corridor and head right to a shaft. Space Jump up the shaft while avoiding the
balloon-type enemies and jump onto the topmost ladder. Fire a Missile up to
break the block and Space Jump up to grab the edge. Pull up and roll left to
the door. Head left to a small room. Bomb both walls and head left to a large
room (you might recognize it...). Drop down, head right to the Data Room and
plug yourself in. Congratulations! You can now CHARGE a Missile! Now you can
freeze a lot of enemies in one shot!
Head left to a large room. Fire a Diffusion Missile at the wall to freeze all
the balloon-type enemies. Head through the bottom-left door to an L-shaped
room. Blast the organism with Missiles and move left to the wires. Roll into a
ball and bomb underneath the wires to reveal a hidden Missile Tank! Return to
the large room and head through the top-left door to another large room. From
there, head left through a small room to yet another large room. Bomb the left
wall to reveal a passage. Roll through it and drop down into a small room. Drop
a Power Bomb to reveal a hidden passage left. Roll left to find a Power Bomb
Tank!
That's all we can do for now, so head for the Navigation Room and login for a
new mission:- Head for Sector 6 (NOC) and login at the Navigation Room there.
Time to leave Sector 4 (AQA), so head right and take the elevator to the Main
Deck. Then head right and take the Sector 6 Elevator to Sector 6 (NOC).
Sector 6 (NOC) and the Security Robot Rematch
=============================================
Welcome back to Sector 6 (NOC)! Head right and login at the Navigation Room for
a new mission:- Find the Security Robot, destroy it and leave Sector 6 (NOC)
immediately. Head right through both Save and Recharge Rooms to an L-shaped
room. Head right again to a large room. Head right to a corridor and head right
again to a shaft. Drop down and head left to a corridor. Move to the left-hand
wall and drop a Power Bomb to open the way. Head left to a shaft. Drop down and
head right to an L-shaped room. Drop down through the crumbling blocks and head
left to another L-shaped room. Drop down and head left to a shaft. Drop down,
bomb through the floor and head left again to a corridor. Approach the
Barriergate and you'll hear a warning: "WARNING! NO ENTRY WITHOUT
AUTHORIZATION!". Head back to the shaft and enter the middle-right door to a
Save Room. Save right now (A Boss is coming up!) and head back to the shaft.
Climb the shaft and head right to an L-shaped room. Head for the top-right door
and enter for your next Boss, Security Robot-X (Check the Bosses Section on how
to beat it!)! Once it's gone, grab its Core-X Parasite! Well done! You got your
Wave Beam back! Now you can fire THROUGH walls!
Let's grab one more thing before we leave! Head right into a corridor. Shoot
open the Barriergate with the Wave Beam to access a Missile Tank! Now head back
to the L-shaped room and head left to another L-shaped room. Drop down and head
left to a shaft. Drop ALL the way down and head left to a corridor. Open the
Barriergate and roll left through the passage to somewhere different.
Main Deck and the Galactic Federation's Big Secret
==================================================
Welcome to the Restricted Zone, something you shouldn't have found! Roll left
and drop down. Head left to a Save Room. Save now (you'll thank me later!) and
head left to a corridor. Run down it and head left again to a tube. Head left
for a major revelation! Head left again to a shaft. Check out the background
while you still can (Check the Secret Section to see what I mean!)! Climb to
the top of the shaft and head right to a small room. Step into the room and
you'll hear a door open, following by glass shattering. Quickly head left to
the shaft. Drop down and head right to find the SA-X!! Except it's too busy to
bother you. Suddenly, you'll hear a warning: "FIRE ALERT! THIS SECTOR WILL SOON
BE LOCKED DOWN!". You now have 1 minute to Space Jump to the top and exit via
the top-right door! Be careful of the Metroids on the way as they'll slow you
down. Once out, the section will be detatched and you'll end up in a tube up
above. Head left to the Navigation Room and login for some serious news & a
conversation. With that, head right to an elevator and take it up to
Sector 1 (SRX).
Sector 1 (SRX) and a Nasty Reunion
==================================
Welcome back to Sector 1 (SRX)! Head right to a large room. Climb up and fire
off a Diffusion Missile at the right-hand wall to reveal a cleverly hidden
Energy Tank! Make your way to the top-right and head right to a corridor. Be
careful of the acid (unlike lava, this WILL damage you. Even with the Gravity
Suit!) and head right to a shaft. Head right again to a Save Room. Save your
game and head back to the shaft. Shoot the floor and drop down into a hidden
corridor. To open the door, you have to make a gold Space Pirate appear by
defeating the enemies and NOT collecting their X Parasites. When the Pirate
appear, defeat it with Missiles up their backside (just like in Super
Metroid!). Once gone the right door will unlock. Head right to find a Power
Bomb Tank! Head left and up back to the shaft. Climb it to the top, bomb the
right-hand wall, climb up the ladder and head left to a corridor. Now bomb the
left wall. Shoot the enemies and leave their X Parasites so they can reform
until you end up with two gold Space Pirates. Blow them away like earlier
(Missile up their backside, remember?) and head left to a shaft. Climb up it
and head left to a Save Room. Save now (Boss fight is coming up!) and head back
to the shaft.
Drop ALL the way down and head left to a corridor. Move left to find a Door
Guardian. Blast it with Missiles and head left to a shaft. Drop down and
approach him to face your next Boss, Ridley-X (Check the Bosses Section on how
to beat him!)!! Once he's defeated, grab his Core-X Parasite. You've just
recovered your Screw Attack ability! Now enemies can be killed by simply
somersaulting into them! With the Screw Attack recovered, Samus now has ALL of
her abilities!
Climb out of the shaft and head right to a corridor. Head right again to a
shaft. Climb it and head through the top right door to a corridor. Bomb the
right wall and head right to a shaft. Bomb the floor to reveal the ladder and
head down. Grab the next ladder, face the right-hand door and fire a Diffusion
Missile to reveal a passage to the door. Head right to a small room. Open the
Barriergate and head right to a shaft. Drop ALL the way down and head right to
a corridor. Freeze the Rippers and use them as stepping stones to cross the
acid and Screw Attack each wall. When you reach the Barriergate, shoot it open
and immediately restart the Space Jump in midair to avoid the acid. Head right
to a shaft. Space Jump up it (Screw Attack the Space Pirates if you like!) and
you're back in the main area of Sector 1 (SRX)!
Let's grab some items before we go! Head right to a large room. Head right
again to a shaft. Climb up the shaft and head left to a Barriergate. Open it
and head left to a corridor. Head left again to a shaft. Drop down and head
left twice to a Save Room. From here, we can get two items, but the procedure
is tricky as it involves using the Speed Booster and the Super Power Jump! Here
goes: Run at full pelt rightwards, shooting on the way to bash through a wall
in the shaft to a hidden shaft, but crouch as soon as you reach the edge.
Quickly somersault off the edge downwards, move right and press jump before the
charge expires! If you did that right you should be in an alcove. Bomb the left
wall to find a hidden Power Bomb Tank! Now return to that Save Room. We're
gonna do it again except in a different way and you need to be quick or you'll
have to try again.
Start running at full pelt rightwards, shooting all the time until you reach
the shaft and the Speed Booster has kicked in. Crouch to charge it and quickly
Space Jump up to the top-left door, open it and press jump, then left. You'll
charge in and hit the slope and start running at full pelt again. Crouch again
before you reach the edge, somersault down to the left wall and press jump to
bash your way through the ceiling to find an Energy Tank! Drop down and head
through the top-right door to a small shaft. Climb up and head right to a large
room. Head through the bottom-right door to a small room. Open the Barriergate
and head right to a shaft. Climb up and head through the top-left door to
another shaft. Climb up to the top and head left to a corridor. Head left again
to a large room. Head through the left door to a corridor. Head left again to
a large room.
Head through the top-right door to a small room. Screw Attack the ceiling to
find a Power Bomb Tank! Return to the large room and head through the
bottom-left door to a shaft. Drop down, shoot at the floor, drop down again
through the lava and head right to a large room. Roll through the far right
wall to find a hidden Missile Tank! Roll back and Space Jump to the top-left
corner to find another Missile Tank! That's it for Sector 1 (SRX)! Head back to
the large room and head through the top-left door to get to the Navigation
Room. Login for some shocking news & a conversation. Afterwards, you'll logoff
but the hatches are still closed! Login again for another coversation and your
final mission:- Head for the Operations Room on the Operations Deck, set the
Station's course for SR388 and evacuate. Head left and take the elevator to the
Main Deck.
Main Deck and the Grand Finale
==============================
Welcome back to the Main Deck! Since we're now on this final mission,
Sectors 1-6 have been sealed. We can't go back now! Head to the Main Elevator
and take it up to the rest of the Main Deck. Head right to a corridor and head
right again to an L-shaped room. Head right to a shaft, drop down and head
right to the Navigation Room. Login for a reminder of the mission. Now head
right to a shaft. Climb up to the top and drop a Power Bomb to get rid of the
organism. Head through the door it blocked to a small room. Roll into a ball
and jump into the top passage. Keep moving right and jumping until you drop
down. Then roll left for a Power Bomb Tank! To get out, drop down, roll left
and bomb the floor. Head back to the shaft and head through the middle-right
door to a small room. Head right again to a Save Room. Save now (this is the
last time you can save, so make it count!) and head right to an L-shaped room.
Head through the top-right door to the Navigation Room. Head right again to
another L-shaped room. Head through the top-right door to the elevator. Take it
up to the Operations Deck.
Head left and the door seals behind you. Head for the top-left door and as soon
as you land on the ledge, an explosion will rock behind you! It's the SA-X!!!
You HAVE to fight it now (Check the Bosses Section on how to beat it!)! Once
it's gone, try and grab its Core-X Parasite. It'll fly off! Never mind, at
least it's gone...for now. Head through the top-left door to the Operations
Room. Login at the terminal and you'll hear a warning: "PROPULSION SEQUENCE
ACTIVATED. DESTINATION: PLANET SR388.". You now have 3 minutes to get back to
your ship and get the hell out of there!
Quickly head right to the large room. Drop down and head right again to the
elevator. Take that baby down! From there, head left to an L-shaped room. Head
left, through the Navigation Room to another L-shaped room. Drop down and head
left, through the Save Room and the small room to a shaft. Drop ALL the way
down and head right to the main corridor. Head right again to a shaft. Screw
Attack down (the platforms can be broken with a Screw Attack, plus it's much
quicker!) and head right to a corridor. Notice the damage? Head right and
you'll reach the docks. Move right and what?! The ship's gone! And there's a
very large Metroid case here! Uh oh! Move left and prepare for a shock! It's
an OMEGA METROID!!! AARRGGHH!! This is your final enemy! From here, you're on
your own! But one last tip: Watch, learn and do it repeatedly. Best of luck!
----------------------------
The Big Clean-up of the Station
===============================
With the game completed, all the areas are now unsealed! Reload your save game!
We need to go back to each area and collect all the items we couldn't reach
during the main walkthrough to get 100%. We can leave Sector 1 (SRX) and
Sector 5 (ARC), since we cleaned them up within the walkthrough. So, let's get
started! From the Save Room, head left through the small room to a shaft. Drop
down and head left, through the Navigation Room to another shaft. Climb up and
enter the top-left door to an L-shaped room. Head left to a corridor and left
again to the Main Elevator. Take this down to the Sector Elevators.
We have only 20 items (that 20%) left to find! So let's do it! Head right and
take the Sector 2 Elevator to Sector 2 (TRO).
Clean-up - Sector 2 (TRO)
=========================
Head right through all three Rooms to a large room. Head through the
middle-left door to a corridor. Go to the end of it to find a Missile Tank!
Head back to the large room and head through the top-right door to a corridor.
Head right again to a shaft. Climb up it and head through the topmost door to
the Level 1 Security Room. Screw Attack through the top-left wall to a door.
Head left to a hidden large room. You need to Space Jump through the passages
without touching the floor (it crumbles, you see). When you reach a junction,
take the top-left way for an Energy Tank! Also, you can take bottom-left way
for a Power Bomb Tank! Leave this large room and return to the large room at
the beginning of the Sector.
Head for the bottom-right and roll through the passage to a shaft. Drop down
and head left through a small room to a long shaft. Drop ALL the way down and
enter the 2nd door from the top (and 4th from the bottom too!) to a large room.
Head right to a shaft, drop down and head right again to the Save Room. Head
right through a small room to another small room. Drop down and head right to
where you fought Cyclopsmouth. Screw Attack the top-right wall and head right
to a hidden large room and drop down. Here's where mastering the Speed Booster
and Super Power Jump is a must! Run right until the Speed Booster kicks in and
crouch before you hit the wall. Somersault onto the platform and press jump,
then left. You'll hit a slope and start running fast across a crumbling floor.
Before you hit the wall, crouch, somersault onto the platform and press jump,
then right to hit another slope and start running fast. Repeat this to make it
to the top, remembering to crouch before you hit an obstacle, so you can keep
the charge, until you bash through a wall and collide with a hidden Power Bomb
Tank! Drop back down and head for the far right wall. Turn around. This next
step is difficult, so drop a Power Bomb near the bottom-left corner to see your
target. Run at full pelt leftwards and crouch before you hit the wall. Quickly
somersault near your target, push up to get out of the somersault, followed by
jump, then right. If you get it right, you'll bash the Speed Booster blocks
(one will do...) and have access to a hidden Missile Tank!
That's it! Sector 2 (TRO) is now clear! Head back to the elevator (it's quite
a journey!) and take it back to the Main Deck. Now head left and take the
Sector 3 Elevator to Sector 3 (PYR).
Clean-up - Sector 3 (PYR)
=========================
Head right through all three Rooms to a large room. Drop ALL the way down and
head through to a shaft. Open the Barriergate and run full pelt rightwards so
you bash the floor in the next room. Drop down into the small room and drop a
Power Bomb. Jump to the reveal gap and roll left to a hidden room. There,
destroy the snakehead and grab the Power Bomb Tank on the ledge! Head back to
the small room and head right to a long shaft. Drop ALL the way down and head
left to a large room. Head left to a shaft. Drop a Power Bomb and drop through
the small passage revealed to a large maze. To reach the Power Bomb Tank, move
right and jump up through the ceiling and right. Drop down, roll right and jump
up to the top. Grab the ledge and roll right. Now just move right for your
Power Bomb Tank! Head back to the long shaft and head right to a small room.
Shoot the bottom-right wall and head left to a hidden shaft. Head right into a
large hot room. Open the barrier gate and Space Jump right to the ledge and
grab it. Roll right for an Energy Tank! You'll notice a Missile Tank on the
way. Here's how to get it: From the Energy Tank, hop into the passage above,
roll left and drop down to find it!
Drop into the lava and head right to a wall. Screw Attack this to clear it and
open the door. Now head back left to the wall of the lava pit. Run full pelt
rightwards and crouch before you hit the wall in the next room. Quickly stand
near it and press jump to sky-rocket up the longest shaft in the game! You'll
grab a Power Bomb Tank enroute, as well as notice another Power Bomb Tank! To
grab it, drop down into the alcove near it, Screw Attack the ceiling into a
hidden passage and Screw Attack back out into the area with Power Bomb Tank!
Climb to the top of this shaft and head left to a corridor. Head left to
another corridor. Screw Attack the wall, then Screw Attack the ceiling to find
a hidden corridor. There's a Missile Tank here, but it's closed off by Speed
Booster blocks. Here's how to get it: Screw Attack the right wall to find a
door. Head right into a connecting corridor (Sector 3 to Sector 1). Start from
the door in Sector 1 and run at full pelt leftwards, while shooting until you
reach the Screw Attack blocks in Sector 3. Crouch before you hit them, Screw
Attack the blocks and press jump, then left to slam through to the Missile
Tank! Drop back down and open the left door. Run at full pelt leftwards and
crouch before your hit the open door. Press jump, then left to slam through
the wall in the next room to a hidden room. Drop a Power Bomb to reveal a
hidden passage, climb into it and roll left to find a hidden Power Bomb Tank!
That's it! Sector 3 (PYR) is now clear! Head back to the elevator and take it
up to the Main Deck. Now head right and take the Sector 4 Elevator to
Sector 4 (AQA).
Clean-up - Sector 4 (AQA)
=========================
Head left through all three Rooms to a large room. Drop down and head right to
another large room. Drop down again and head left to an L-shaped room. Fire a
Diffusion Missile at the ground and drop down. Head left to a large room. Head
through the middle-right door to a corridor. Move left to the door and turn
around. Now run full pelt rightwards and crouch before you reach the door.
Press jump while underneath the gap in the ceiling to catapult yourself into a
small room with a Power Bomb Tank!
That's it! Sector 4 (AQA) is now clear! Head back to the elevator and take it
up to the Main Deck. Now head right and take the Sector 6 Elevator to
Sector 6 (NOC).
Clean-up - Sector 6 (NOC)
=========================
Head right through all three Rooms to an L-shaped room. Head right again to a
large room. Head through the top-right door to a corridor and head right again
to a shaft. Drop down and head left to a corridor. Open the door and clear the
stump-like wall with a Screw Attack. Move to the left wall and turn around. Run
full pelt rightwards and crouch before you hit the door. Now press jump, then
right to smash through a wall in the shaft and reach a door. Head right to a
hidden corridor. In this room you need a good memory. The platform, when bombed
at the right place reveal either a metal platform or a metal pillar. You need
to make nothing but metal platforms appear, as they'll be needed to preform a
Speed Booster run to get an Energy Tank. Since you might forget, here's a
simple diagram of where you need to bomb:
####O### ##OO## O##O ###O###
######## ###### #### #######
Simply bomb where the 'O' is on all 4 platforms to make a perfect run. Now move
left and turn around. Run at full pelt and crouch before you reach the edge.
Now press jump, then right to bash through the blocks. Grab that Energy Tank!
Now you need to get out the EXACT same way as you got in! Open the door and
start from the right. Run full pelt leftwards and crouch before you reach the
edge. Now press jump, then left to slam back through that wall and out!
Head left to a corridor and clear that stump-like wall again. Open the left
door and start from the right. Run full pelt leftwards and crouch before you
hit the wall. Somersault onto the ledge and press jump, then left. You smash
through a wall in a hidden room and zoom through into a large room. Shoot the
floor and drop down. Now look at the floor and head right counting the
cylinder-like blocks. Stop at the fifth one. Remember it! Head back to the left
wall and turn around. Now run full pelt rightwards and as soon as the Speed
Booster kicks in, CROUCH! Move left to the fifth cylinder-like block and press
jump when at the left side of it. You should zoom up to a hidden Power Bomb
Tank! Drop back down. You should notice another Power Bomb Tank. To get it,
start from the left wall and run full pelt and crouch before you hit the wall.
Somersault onto the platform and press jump, then left. As soon as you start
running, Space Jump left to bash through the floor and into the area with the
Power Bomb Tank! Leave the room and use the small passageway to get out. Drop
down, head left and STOP when you enter the room! Screw Attack the two walls
right in front of you. Head right to a small room. Use a Power Bomb to reveal
all, and roll into the top passage. What you need to do here is to roll right,
uncurl, Screw Attack and make Samus grab the ledge. It may take several tries,
but it IS possible. Once done, pull up to grab the Power Bomb Tank!
That's it! Sector 6 (NOC) is now clear! But we're not going for the elevator!
We need to make a detour to get an item from the Main Deck. Head left and Screw
Attack both walls. Drop down and head left to an L-shaped room. Drop down again
and head left to a shaft. Drop ALL the way down and head left to a corridor.
Open the Barriergate and roll through the passage to the Restricted Zone in the
Main Deck.
Clean-up - Main Deck
====================
Roll left and drop down. Then head left to a Save Room. Save now as the next
step is so difficult that if you miss, it's best to reload rather than go
around all over again! Start from the Save Room and run full pelt leftward,
while shooting and crouch when you reach the tube. Stand in the middle of the
shaft and press jump. Get it right and you'll pick up a Power Bomb Tank on the
way up! Now head right, through the Navigation Room to the elevator. Take it
up to Sector 1 (SRX).
Now follow the exact same path to get out as you did after defeating Ridley-X
to get to the elevator. Take it up to the Main Deck. Now return to the Save
Room where you saved for the final time. Head right to an L-shaped room. Head
right again to a corridor. Head right a thrid time to a tunnel. Head right
until you reach the debris next to the room where you fought Arachnus. Stand on
the debris and Screw Attack the top-right corner of ceiling to reach the area
where you found your first Energy Tank. Head for the far righ wall. Shoot the
ceiling around there until a gap is made. Fire a Missile at the place directly
below the gap and jump up. Head right to find an Energy Tank!
That's it! Main Deck is now clear! Not only that...BUT THE ENTIRE GAME IS NOW
CLEAR!!! With all item and abilities, you now have achieved 100%! Here are the
totals that Samus should have:
Energy - 2099 (20 tank + 99 units)
Missiles - 250
Power Bombs - 74
Head to a Recharge Room and recharge yourself, then head for the final Save
Room and save your game! Now beat the game again for a little surprise (The
Secrets Section will reveal all!)!
And with that, our walkthough is now complete. See ya!

7. Items
--------
Items have been very important in the Metroid games. Finding them would help
you fortify Samus and make her stronger. However, due to the X Parasite
infestation, Samus has lost her latent abilities from Super Metroid. But you
CAN get them back! By defeating certain Bosses and using Data Rooms, Samus can
get back to full strength.
X Parasites
-----------
X Parasites are what help Samus restore lost energy and weapons. Because of the
Metroid Vaccine, Samus can now absorb X Parasites by simply touching them.
There are 5 kinds of X Parasite:
Yellow - These, when absorbed, will restore 10 Energy units to Samus.
Green - These, when absorbed, will restore 2 Missiles to Samus.
Red - These, when absorbed, will restore more Energy, Missiles AND Power Bombs
to Samus. Door Guardians have been known to give Red X Parasites!
Blue - These, when absorbed, will restore 30 Energy units to Samus. HOWEVER, if
Samus doesn't have the Varia ability, they will damage her upon
absorption!
Core-X - These X Parasites are held by Bosses. Beat the boss' form, then crack
the Core-X Ball holding the X Parasite to release it. These, when
absorbed will restore even more Energy, Missiles and Power Bombs as
well as one of Samus' latent abilities!
Missiles
--------
Samus can use these once she earns the Missile Data Download. The Missiles can
help if your Beam isn't strong enough. There are 4 kinds of Missile:
Missile - These are your normal Missiles.
Super Missiles - The power of Samus' Missiles will now triple.
Ice Missiles - Since the Metroid Vaccine prevents Samus from having an Ice Beam
(Metroids are severly vunerable to Ice), this has been made as a
substitute. It still has the same properties as the Ice Beam,
but in Missile form.
Diffusion Missile - Now this one rocks! Samus can now CHARGE a Missile! Once
charged and fired, once it hits (anything or anyone
including walls!), a spread of ice will span out, freezing
anything it hits. This is great when faced with lots of
Missile blocks (one charged Missile takes out the whole
lot!)!
Bombs
-----
Samus can use Bombs to help her out in finding secrets and stuff. There are
only 2 types of Bomb:
Bomb - This is the normal bomb that Samus can use in Morph Ball form. It's not
very powerful but it can help find secret passages.
Power Bombs - Samus can use these babies once again, just like in Super
Metroid. Power Bombs can destroy any enemy it touches. However,
unlike Super Metroid, the Bosses seem invunerable to Power
Bombs...
Beams
-----
Samus starts off with an average Beam, but over time, she can get new beams to
make her firepower stronger. There are 5 types of Beam:
Charge Beam - The Charge Beam is back from Super Metroid. It's function is
still the same, and yes, you can still use the Charged Screw
Attack move!
Wide Beam - This is a new Beam to Samus' arsenal, but I think we've seen this
in Super Metroid. (cough)Spazer(cough).
Plasma Beam - This enemy-ripping Beam is back! But it's not as strong as Super
Metroid's.
Wave Beam - The Wave Beam has been around since Metroid's time! It's still
useful!
Ice Beam - Despite the Metroid Vaccine, Samus CAN get this Beam, but only for a
short time. How? Find out for yourself!
Tanks
-----
These can help Samus get stronger by collecting more of these. There are 3
kinds of Tank;
Energy Tank - They've been around for ages! Every one Samus collects extents
her energy by an extra 100 units. There are 20 to find, so grab
'em all!
Missile Tank - These are the same as the Energy Tanks. Every one Samus collects
gives her an extra 5 Missiles. There are 48 to find.
Power Bomb Tank - These were first featured in Super Metroid. Every one Samus
collects gives her 2 Power Bombs (Hey! No fair!). There are
32 in the game to find.
Abilities
---------
No thanks to the X Parasites, Samus has now lost her latent abilities. In order
to proceed (and to survive better), she has to regain them all! Here they all
are:
Varia Suit - This has been around since Metroid. Once Samus finds this, she can
withstand extreme heat and bitter cold.
Gravity Suit - This was first introduced in Super Metroid. Once Samus finds
this, moving through water will be much easier.
Morph Ball - This one is ages old! Using this, Samus can curl up into a ball
and move through small passages.
High Jump & Jumpball - These used to be seperate (and the Jumpball was really
the Springball), but they've now been brought together
since they have the same properties. Once obtained,
Samus can jump high normally, and jump while morphed!
Speed Booster - The Speed Booster is back from Super Metroid, as is the secret
Super Power Jump move! By using this Samus can move fast and
become invincible while running. Unfortunately, no Button
activates this. Instead you have to keep running until it kicks
in!
Space Jump - This makes a welcome reappearence. Using this, Samus can fly by
somersaulting in the air. Not only that, you can start it WHILE IN
MIDAIR! Timing no-longer matters anymore (Although, it does
help!).
Screw Attack - Back with a vengeance, this move is considered my personal
favourite! Now Samus can somersault through enemies, killing
them instantly!

8. Bosses
---------
Each Boss in Metroid Fusion requires a certain strategy to beat, but once
destroyed and their Core-X Balls cracked, you can recover your missing
abilities.
Boss Name: Arachnus
Ability Earned: Morph Ball
Well, well, well... Looks like we have an enemy from Samus' past! Remember
Metroid II? He had your Springball ability then, and now he's back! To beat
him, use Missiles on his front. If he breathes fire, uses a slashing attack or
is about to roll towards you, grab the nearest ledge and jump away from the
wall to evade it! Repeat this until he's gone and is just a Core-X Ball. Blow
that to earn the Morph Ball ability.
Boss Name: Core-X Blaster
Ability Earned: Charge Beam
This is like the Core-X Balls, except he can charge a beam and fire it at you!
Wait until he opens his recepticle, then blast it with a Missile. Be prepared
to dodge his shot as it will fire it at you when you hit him! Repeat this to
crack him and earn the Charge Beam!
Boss Name: Cyclopsmouth
Abilities Earned: High Jump & Jumpball
This guy reminds me of a very nasty leech. Keep avoiding him until he jumps
and opens his mouth. Fire a Missile through the centre of the mouth to hit his
eye and thus damage him. Repeat this until he becomes a Core-X Ball. Crack it
to earn both High Jump and Jumpball!
Boss Name: Serris-X
Ability Earned: Speed Booster
This guy is ultra-fast! But he can be beaten. Just crouch on one of the
platforms and charge your beam. When he gets close enough, fire it so you hit
him in the head. Once hit, he'll use his ultraspeed as retaliation! Just hang
onto the monkeybars and hope he doesn't hit you. If he does, just jump back on
again until he slows down. Repeat this until he becomes a Core-X Ball. Crack it
to earn the Speed Booster!
Boss Name: Security Robot
Ability Earned: None!
This is your first encounter with a machine enemy! To beat it, stay out of the
way of its rising fire and aim for the central top of it. You CAN use Missiles
to beat it but I find a Charged Beam is easier, if what longer. You can only
hit it when it's not firing. Stay on the monkeybars when fighting it.
Boss Name: GiantCore-X
Ability Earned: Varia Suit
This guy is huge! Just keep hitting it with Charged Beam blasts while avoiding
it until it becomes a normal Core-X Ball. Crack it to earn the Varia Suit!
Boss Name: Core-X Blaster2
Ability Earned: Wide Beam
Yep, this guy is back! Just destroy him using the same tactics for Core-X
Blaster and you'll crack him in no time and earn the Wide Beam too!
Boss Name: RoboSpider
Ability Earned: Space Jump
This one is tough! Start by avoiding him entirely! If he grabs you, rotate the
control pad and pound the A & B Buttons repeatedly to break free before he
drains all your energy! When he opens his mouth to fire, hit his mouth with a
few Missiles. He gets tougher and faster as he takes damage, plus his fires
can be a hindrance. Keep it up until he loses his legs and starts spinning
about. From there, hit him in the mouth with more Missiles until become a
Core-X Ball. Crack that to earn the Space Jump!
Boss Name: Big Root
Ability Earned: Plasma Beam
This is tough, especially if you drop right into one of its flowers! Start by
getting on the ledge and shooting it repeatedly with Missiles. When its top
flowers are gone, it'll shoot plasma-type shots. Jump and duck these while
firing Missiles at the spot it doesn't fire. When you've hit it enough, it'll
become a Core-X Blaster. Follow the same tactics as Core-X Blaster & Core-X
Blaster2 to crack it and earn the Plasma Beam!
Boss Name: Nightmare-X
Ability Earned: Gravity Suit
This guy is hard! Start by firing Missiles at his core at the bottom, while
avoiding his shots. After a while, he'll change the gravity. Your Missile are
useless unless you can stop him! Use Charged Plasma Beam blasts to hit his core
until he stops. His slimy face will now be revealed. Hit it with as many
Missiles as you can while avoiding him. Once he's gone, he'll become a Core-X
Ball. Crack it to earn the Gravity Suit!
Boss Name: Security Robot-X
Ability Earned: Wave Beam
This will not be easy, as the water is electrified! Start by dropping a Power
Bomb so you can reveal the monkeybars. Grab onto them and fire Missiles or
Charged Beam blasts at its central top. Watch out when it's firing missiles!
Shoot them to survive. Repeat this until it becomes a Core-X Blaster. Crack it
like Core-X Blaster & Core-X Blaster2 to earn the Wave Beam!
Boss Name: Ridley-X
Ability Earned: Screw Attack
Oh no!! You thought you'd never see HIM again when you blew him away on Zebes,
but it looks like it's gonna be a rematch. My only tactic is this... HIT HIM
HARD AND FAST! Fire off your Missiles repeatedly at his body, but watch out
for his tail. Be careful he doesn't grab you like the RoboSpider! If he does,
blast him repeatedly with Missiles until he's forced to let go of you! Keep it
up until he become a Core-X Ball. Crack that to earn the Screw Attack!
Boss Name: SA-X
Ability Earned: None!
Finally, after all this time, you can ATTACK it and DAMAGE it too! Use nothing
but Charged Beam blasts, while avoid it. Don't try to Screw Attack it. You'll
damage it, sure, but you'll damage yourself too! Once it's on its knees, it'll
mutate into some kind of flea. It'll jump back and forth, so 3 Charged Beam
blasts will take care of it. After that, it'll become a Core-X Blaster. Just
crack it like the Core-X Blasters before you and you'll get it in no time.
Boss Name: Omega Metroid
Ability Earned: None!
Oh no, we're not gonna tell you how to defeat this one! You'll just have to
figure it out on your own (If you're really desperate, E-Mail me.)!

10. Secrets
-----------
Memories from Metroid's past:
----------------------------
There are 2 places in Metroid Fusion that derive from past Metroid games.
The first is in the Restricted Zone. You only get 1 chance to see it so make it
count! When you travel up a long shaft, you can see in glass cases, all the
evolutions of the Metroid from Alpha to Omega!
The second is when you first explore the Habitation Deck. When you reach the
top floor of the Deck you can see through the glass your old friends from Super
Metroid - the Dachora and the Etecoons!
Change End picture:
------------------
When you complete the game and you're shown your Clear Time and Item Rate,
you'll most likely get a picture of Samus in her new 'Fusion Suit'. Well, you
can change that! Just get your Item Rate to 100% and the picture will change to
show Samus without her 'Fusion Suit'!
Past Move costs nothing:
-----------------------
Remember the Super Power Jump you could perform in Super Metroid? You can still
perform this move in Metroid Fusion, except you don't have to worry about
energy: The move now costs nothing! You can perform it to your heart's content
and watch as your energy stays the same when you zoom!
__

11. Link it up!
---------------
Metroid Fusion is one of the many games that can use GBA-GC Connectivity! If
you connect Metroid Fusion with Metroid Prime, (available on GameCube in 2003)
you can access 2 really cool features depending on which Metroid you've
completed.
Completed Fusion to Prime
-------------------------
If you complete Metroid Fusion and connect it to Metroid Prime, prepare for a
bit of nostaglia as THE ORIGINAL METROID IS UNLOCKED! Now, you can play Samus'
very first mission and fight Mother Brain on GameCube. It even saves to your
GC Memory Card!
Completed Prime to Fusion
-------------------------
If you complete Metroid Prime and connect it to Metroid Fusion, brace yourself
as SAMUS' EARNS THE 'FUSION SUIT' IN PRIME! Now, you can see Samus in the same
Armour she wore in Fusion in Metroid Prime! Imagine that!
