~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
UPDATES-
    04/20/05- Finished the walkthrough, plus cleaned up some of the rest of
         the walkthrough.
    06/01/04- Translated some of the card titles, so those are updated.
    05/02/04- I hope you lazy bums are happy, I've updated through Chapter 9.
         However, I might be mean and decide to wait a while before you guys
         get the final chapter. It depends on if I get enough money for my
         birthday to actually buy the game, or if I get too distracted with
         buying ACTUAL cards... Which there will be a "Bonus Guide" for, with
         a full list of ALL the physical cards released so far.
    09/01/03- Added chapters 3, 4, 5, and 6, as well as the start of 7.
    08/11/03- Got back to Chapter 3, so I can continue the walkthrough.
    08/04/03- Chapter 3 started. Unfortunately, the file then got messed up,
         and I had to start back at Chapter 1 again.
INTRODUCTION
~~~~~~~~~~~~

Gensosuikoden Card Stories is a video game based off of the Gensosuikoden (or
just Suikoden) RPG series. Instead of a traditional RPG battle system, this
game uses a card game to decide battle outcomes. The game is for the Gameboy
Advance, but unfortunately was not released in the US.

Gensosuikoden Card Stories is based off of the story of the second
Gensosuikoden game, (Genso)Suikoden II. This is how the game fits in with the
other games in the series:

(Genso)Suikoden I (S1)
(Genso)Suikoden II (S2) = (Genso)Suikoden Card Stories (CS)
         (Genso)Suikoden Gaiden I (G1)*
         (Genso)Suikoden Gaiden II (G2)*
(Genso)Suikoden III (S3)

*The Gaiden games take place roughly within and after S2. However, some events
in the Gaiden games may occur differently from the main game, and are not
completely cannon.

OTHER NOTES
~~~~~~~~~~~
NOTE: While the Potch reward for battles is standard, the cards recieved are
not. Cards marked with a * are standard for that battle, but all other cards
listed are possible rewards. You may get one or some, and duplicates or no
duplicates.
OPENING
~~~~~~~

For more information on how to get a game started, see my General FAQ.

A. Select Name

The first thing you have to do is choose a name. There are four pages of
characters to use. The default character set is Hiragana. To toggle the
character sets, use the L and R buttons. The other three sets (by way of the R
button) are Katakana, English Alphabet, and Numbers and Symbols. Both Phonecian
and Roman numerals are available. Every time you restart the game, a different
default name will be given. "A" will confirm a selection, and "B" will delete
whatever is in the highlighted slot. Selecting "ED" will exit you from the name
menu and start the game. Pressing "Start" will automatically highlight "ED".

B. Opening Scene

You're in a tent at camp, and Jowy talks to you. Depending on which options you
pick, Jowy will tell you different things, but either way, you get to start
Chapter 1.

~~~~~~~~~
CHAPTER 1
~~~~~~~~~

You can hear people shouting. Jowy and you leave your tent, and outside you see
your captain, Rowd. You then enter a practice battle.

1. Battle 1 (Practice)

This battle is completely optional. Pick the first option to have Jowy explain
the game to you. Pick the second to skip the battle and continue the story.
This battle is you versus another team, with each player having 5 VP needed for
victory. See the General FAQ for how to battle. Note that in this battle,
you're pretty much forced to play what Jowy wants you to play for the first
couple of rounds.

In this battle, you get to go first. Since you only have one mission in your
hand, "Capture Front Line Base Preparation" (160), you have to use it. Your
opponent will play Kiba (Card 012), and you then have to play Flik (024), your
only Leader. In the next set, your opponent will play Rowd (071), and you have
the choice of playing Mukumuku (138), Ayda (102), or Eilie (033). You can play
any of them, and it doesn't really matter the order, since you'll get to play
all of them. No matter who you play, your opponent then plays Kinnison (108).
Play your next character, and then your opponent is out of characters to play,
so go ahead and play the last character, ending the battle by reaching 10
points. Choose someone to stay with the Mission (DON'T use Flik, or you won't be
able to play anything else, 'cuz you only have a double of his card in your
hand).

Now it's your opponent's turn. They'll play a mission, "Capture of Two Rivers"
(165). You still only have one Leader in your hand (Flik), so play him again.
Your opponent will then play Hauzer (022). Your hand now has Rikimaru (143), Meg
(140), Fitcher (061), another Fitcher, and Rowd. You can't play Rowd, so pick
one of the other three to play. I'd suggest Rikimaru because he has a stronger
attack. Your opponent's next move is to play Ridley (030), but if you played
Rikimaru, you can now play Rowd, who has as stronger attack than Meg. After
this, your opponent won't have any characters to play, so go ahead and play Meg,
then Fitcher. Fitcher doesn't have any attack strength, but his special power
will get rid of Ridley for you. Since Fitcher is already in play, you can't play
the last card in your hand, so press "Down" and then "A", and select the first
option to end the round. You can also hit "Select" and choose "Pass" (first
option).

It's your turn again, and since you don't have any more missions, hit "B" to go
onto the field, and hit "A" on the Mission's icon to enter it again. You can't
play Fitcher, or the Flik and Rikimaru cards you just drew, but you can play
the Sheena (042), Chaco (051), and Alex (100) cards you just drew. Sheena's
attack gets a bonus, making it 4 (note the blue indicating bonus), so he's
probably your best bet to play. Your opponent still doesn't have any character
cards to play, so go ahead and play Chaco and Alex, which will give you enough
points to win the Mission. Since you have Flik, Fitcher, and Rikimaru in your
hand, don't select any of them to stay with the mission. I'd suggest not to use
Rowd either, because I believe there's another one of him in your deck as well.

Your opponent's next turn will find you facing another Mission, "Reconnaissance"
(149). Even though you have Flik in your party, as well as your own card (008),
neither of your Leaders can go into battle, so you have to end your turn
("down", then "A", first option). Your opponent will play Gengen (016), and
another Kinnision, then end his turn.

On your turn, you still can't play any characters to the current Mission (if
you decide to go into it, hit "Select", then the first option, to go back into
the main screen. Since you can't play any cards, you have to discard one or
more cards from your hand. Personally, I would suggest NOT to discard Flik,
you, Nanami (055), or Mondo (067). This leaves you with Fitcher and Rikimaru.
Fitcher has a useful special ability, and Rikimaru has decent attack, so it's
completely up to you. For the purposes of this walkthrough, I'm ditching
Fitcher. To discard a card, press "down" on that card (and also any others you
may want to discard), then press "A." This discards your card, gives you a new
card, and then ends your turn. Your opponent will also discard a card on this
turn, which happens to be the Facility "Library" (183) (either discard pile can
be checked at any time during yoru turn by hitting "B" to go to the field, and
selecting the appropriate discard pile, and hitting "A". Toggle through the
cards by hitting "L" and "R".)

On your next turn, you finally draw a Mission, so play it. Your opponent will
play Culgan (015), to which you should play yourself. Besides the fact that
you have a bonus in this battle, you are also given the option to do a unite.
To do the unite, select the first option in the option box, and you will be
able to play Nanami, who also recieves a bonus. Your opponent will follow by
playing Long Chan Chan (147). You now have Flik, Rikimaru, and Mondo to play.
Flik gets a bonus, so I'd suggest playing him. Your opponent will then play
another Kiba, and you can play either Mondo or Rikimaru. Since you only have 3
points needed left, use Mondo instead of Rikimaru, since Mondo will finish the
battle then. Select someone to stay with the card (this should be your last
Flik, so you can use him, but definitely don't use yourself or Nanami... I'd
use Mondo).

However, it doesn't matter what you do next, because you've gotten enough VP to
win the battle. You're given two options, which I'm not sure what do, so just
pick the first one. You're shown what cards you have earned, which is one card,
Pohl (063). Select the first option to view the cards, the second to exit out
of the menu and back to the main game.

Opponent's Deck:
012. Kiba (x2)
015. Culgan
016. Gengen
022. Hauzer
030. Ridley
071. Rowd
108. Kinnison (x2)
147. Long Chan Chan
149. Reconnaissance (Mission)
165. Capture of Two Rivers (Mission)
183. Library (Facility)

Rewards:
Pohl (063)
150 Pocchi (Potch)

Rowd then yells at you, and you and Jowy run away. You and Jowy find a cave,
and you are given two options. Depending on what you choose, Jowy will tell
you something different, and you get two more options. Basically, you're having
a conversation with Jowy. Select whatever you want to get through the
conversation, unless you can understand Japanese and know what you're saying
(if this is so, why do you need this walkthrough?!?!? Figure it out yourself,
or help me with translations!).

Eventually, you will hear someone speak, and Jowy talks to you some more, and
you end up inside of a cave, with a sprite to control. Exit the screen to the
top, then go directly to the screen to the right (you can run by holding "B").
Open the chest with "A" to find a Jowy (017) Card, then go back to the last
screen, and open the chest there, gaining "Personal Combat" (174). Exit this
screen to the top, then follow through the next screen, and approach the
pedestal in the middle of the room. The screen will dim, and you'll see the
Black Sword and Bright Shield Runes. Leknaat will appear (I think she's the
voice from earlier), and talk to you. You get another set of conversation
options, which I'm not sure what do, but it doesn't matter what you pick,
eventually you'll get through the conversation, and be back outside (presumably
with the runes). Jowy will ask you something more, and then you get attacked
again.

2. Battle 2

This time, you don't get the option of fighting or not. However, your opponent
needs 5 VP to win, and you only need 1, so it shouldn't be that hard. I'm not
going to walk you through this one, because you need to learn how to battle on
your own (and I don't think this one is the same everytime like the practice
one is).

Opponent's Deck:
012. Kiba
019. Solon Jhee
126. Hanna
143. Rikimaru
175. Personal Combat 2 (Mission)

Rewards:
Pohl (063); Bolgan (065)
150 Potch

You and Jowy will talk some more (still more things I don't know what I'm
saying. and Rowd will tell things to you. The screen will flash, then fade to
black.

~~~~~~~~~
CHAPTER 2
~~~~~~~~~

While the screen is still black, someone starts talking, and another joins in.
When you can see again, you're in a room, and you find out that the people
talking were Viktor and Flik. Make your way through the conversation as best
you can, (you'll eventually be forced to tell them what's going on, so it
doesn't matter if you can't understand it or not). Then you'll get a box of
text, presumably explaining to you your current situation.

Then the screen fades, and you have your first menu.
Option 1: Inn
    After being welcomed into the Inn, you are given four more options:
    Sub-Option 2: Deck info
         Here you can build and customize up to four decks. Note, however,
         that cards can only be in one deck at a time, so if you only have
         one copy of a card, you can't put it in two decks. This screen will
         also tell you which deck is currently selected (that's where the star
         in the corner is). Press "A" to go into the deck, and then "A" in
         each section to enter it.
    Sub-Option 2: Save
         This screen will tell you how long you've been playing, how much
         Potch you have, and what percent of the full set of cards you've
         collected. You also save (of course).
    Sub-Option 3: ? (talk)
         This option lets you talk to the hostess.
    Sub-Option 4: Leave
         Takes you back to the main menu.
Option 2: Card Shop
    Sub-Option 1: Buy Cards
         Here you can buy cards. To see the cards, press "Start", and toggle
         with "L" and "R." To buy cards, press "A", select number of cards,
         hit "A" again, and then confirm (first option). In the Mercenary
         Fort, you can buy the following:
         Pohl - 200
         Leona - 320
         Barbara - 120
         Tuta - 280
         Gengen - ??? (Rare Find)
         In the card view, the # below the card image (A/B) tells you how many
         of the card you have in your deck and how many you have total.
    Sub-Option 2: Sell Cards
         Here you can sell cards. Your complete card set is shown, with
         numbers following. This is how they are displayed:
         ((Name of Card)) - A/B
         Name of card is obvious. If it is white, you can sell the card. If it
         is red/pink, you can't sell the card. The only cards that you can't
         sell are the ones that are in your deck. A tells you how many of that
         card is in your deck. B tells you how many of that card you have
         total. So, if you haven't played around with your deck at this point,
         you will see the following:
         ((Your Name))(red) - 3/3
         Gengen (red) - 3/3
         Jowy (white) - 0/1
         This means that you can sell 1 Jowy (all you have), but can't sell
         your own card or Gengen, unless you adjust your deck. To sell the
         cards, use the same method as for buying them.
    Sub-Option 3: Card List
         This let's you view all of your cards. Press "Start" or "A" to view
         the cards, and "B" to exit.
    Sub-Option 4: Rare Finds
         Sometimes there will be cards here, sometimes there won't. Sometimes
         shops will get new Rare Finds (and regular cards, also). Sometimes a
         rare find in one area is a regular card in another, so beware of
         buying everything as soon as you can.
    Sub-Option 5: Leave
         Takes you back to the main menu.
Option 3: Trade Shop
    Sub-Option 1: Battle
         Sub-Sub-Option 1: Go into battle
         Sub-Sub-Option 2: Go into battle (harder, 30 Potch)
         Sub-Sub-Option 3: Go into battle (hardest, 300 Potch)
    Sub-Option 2: Trade Shop
         When you enter the trade shop, the shopkeeper will show you two
              cards. The first (red background) is one of your cards, the
              second (green background), is what he'll trade you for it. When
              the options come up, left is yes, right is no. If you accept
              the trade, the two boxes will flash, and switch places. You can
              then go and trade again. If you accepted, it will be a different
              card, if you didn't, it will be the same. If you don't have a
              spare copy of the card he wants, he won't let you trade. To be
              able to trade it, go into your deck and remove the card from it,
              then go back.
         Trades:
              Pohl (63) for Nanami (55)
              Millie (137) for ((175))
              Shiro (121) for Templeton (087)
              Kinnison (108) for Gengen (016)
              Errand (151) for Tsai (052)
              After you have completed all 5 trades, you get "Capture of Two
                   Rivers" (165), and cannot trade anymore.
    Sub-Option 3: Leave
Option 4: Leave
    Takes you out of the area.

A. Leaving the Fort

There's nothing for you to do right now at the Mercenary Fort, so go ahead and
leave. You're given 3 new places to go: Ryube, Toto, and Muse. You can only
get to Ryube and Toto from the Mercenary Fort, so just choose one ((I chose
Toto for the purpose of this FAQ)).

B. Toto

Beware... Nanami will assault you here. You get an option of what to say. Here
are each of the outcomes:
    "Nanami!?"
         Nanami asks you what's going on, and about Jowy, the screen fades to
         black, and you are lead to another set of options.
    "Eh... Eto..." ((roughly uhh.. umm...))
         Nanami yells at you, then asks what's going on, and the screen fades
         to black, as you explain what's going on. You're then presented with
         another set of options.
I'm not exactly sure what these next two options are. One reads "Nanami,
doushite kokota?" and the other reads "Sou da ne." The first one is asking
"Nanami, why are you here?" and the other I'm pretty sure is equal to "okay."

In either case, asking the first will get Nanami to yell at you, and the second
won't. Eventually, you're brought to another set of options, and at this point
they're giving me kanji again, so I can't even begin to try to read it. So it's
back to my old standard, pick the top one. This makes Nanami shake you again.
However, I've pretty much come to the conclusion in this game that it's gonna
force you to do what it wants eventually, so it doesn't matter which one you
pick.

Now that you've been reunited with Nanami, you have a menu. This one has only
two options:
Option 1: Inn
    The inns have the same options every time.
Option 2: Leave
    After you leave, you'll get another scene.

C. Highland Scene

This is our introduction to Seed, Culgan, and... General Jowy?!?!? Anywho,
after the scene, the screen fades to black.

D. Back to the Map / Ryube

Now we're out of Toto, and can go either to Muse or Ryube (or back to the
fort). We'll go to Ryube for now (by going to the fort first).

Ryube's menu:
Option 1: Inn
    Pretty much everywhere you go has an inn, and if there's an inn, it'll
    always be the first option.
Option 2: Card Shop
    Same set of options as the previous card shop, but a different set of
    cards to buy:
    Nanami - 800 (only after Toto)
    Mukumuku - 175
    Eilie - 480
    Tuta - 240
    Nanami is very useful for regular battles, so if you can afford it, buy
    it, 'cuz you don't have any of her at this point. There's also a Rare
    Find here, Templeton (600), sometimes (like in the actual game, sometimes
    the Rare Finds are there, sometimes they're not).
Option 3: Leave

E. Back to the Fort

Flik meets you as you enter the Fort, and he and Viktor talk with you and
Nanami ((don't ask me about what, I'm as lost as all of you)). But after your
conversation, you get the menu back. There's nothing new in the card shop, so
head back out, which will trigger another scene.

Someone comes up to the Fort to talk to Flik and Viktor, and you are given
another set of options. Like I've said before, I'm just gonna pick the first
option. After hitting the first option 3 times, Viktor and Flik will talk to
you, then you get your "Duel" with Flik (which is just a regular battle). (If
you pick the second option on the first one, you are taken out of the fort, and
can no longer go to the fort or Ryube, and skip down to part F.)

1. Battle 3- Flik

This isn't a practice battle, so you'll have to figure it out on your own. Flik
needs 3 VP to win, you need 1.

Flik's Deck:
010. Camus
016. Gengen
025. Flik
038. Gabocha (x2)
056. Nina (x2)
057. Barbara (x2)
063. Pohl
075. Leona
152. Highland Reconnaissance (x4)
187. Tavern
188. Gaming Room (x3)

Rewards:
Nanami (055)*, Personal Combat (174)

Flik and Viktor accept you after this, and you get to name your team/army. The
default name is Dyunan (Dunan), but name it whatever you want. I prefer
"Ojamajo", but that's just me. Nanami tells you that your name is awesome, and
you're given two more options (I believe it's a confirmation, but I'm not
sure). Someone shouts out again, and Viktor asks you if you're ready. The first
options is "OK", and the other is a preparation option. If you choose to
prepare, you are given the Inn, the Card Shop, and the Trade Shop. Each time you
exit one, Viktor again asks you if you are ready.

2. Battle 4

After you select "OK", you see Seed, Culgan, and Solon Jhee talking, followed by
Viktor and Flik talking, and then you get the battle. It's fairly easy, with 5
VP on your opponent's side, and only 2 on your own.

Opponent's Deck:
011. Gijimu
012. Kiba
071. Rowd
100. Alex (x2)
143. Rikimaru
152. Highland Reconnaissance

Rewards:
Mukumuku (138), Mercenary Fort Battle (167), Personal Combat 2 (175)
220 Potch

After the battle, Solon Jhee comments, and then Viktor and Flik talk, and you go
back to the Fort. Viktor and Flik talk again, and you're given the "OK" option
and the waiting option again. Waiting will take you back to the menu:
Option 1: Inn
Option 2: Card Shop (same as before)
Option 3: Trade Shop
Note that leaving either the Inn or the Card Shop will have Flik ask you if
you're ready.

There's some more talking, as you find that the Fort has been set on fire!
Nanami asks you something, and you get two options. I'm not sure what either
is, but I like the one with the "!!" It also leads you into a battle.

3. Battle 5

Another fairly easy battle, you need 2 VP, your opponent needs 4 VP.

Opponent's Deck:
012. Kiba
071. Rowd
138. Mukumuku
152. Highland Reconnaissance
160. Capture Front Line Base Preparation

Rewards:
Pohl (063), Hanna (126), Rikimaru (143), Mercenary Fort Battle (167)
315 Potch

4. Battle 6

Another battle comes after some dialogue from random characters (I can't read
the kanji). This one's a little harder, you have 3 VP vs. your opponent's 4 VP.
However this battle does have something new: A Mastermind card. I have no clue
what it does, but it does count as that character being in play, which brings
the Unique rule into effect. Well, you won't have an Adlai card at this point
anyway, so it doesn't hurt you.

Opponent's Deck:
003. Adlai
080. Gordon
081. Connell
087. Templeton
089. Tony
090. Hai Yo (x2)
091. Hans
094. Raura
099. Alberto
101. Annallee (x2)
106. Gadget (x2)
127. Humphrey (x2)

136. Mikumiku
138. Mukumuku
140. Meg
142. Mokumoku (x2)
150. Cooking Contest
186. Blacksmith (x2)

Rewards:
Templeton (087), Mukumuku (138), Cooking Contest (150)
720 Potch

After this battle, there will be more dialogue, followed by another battle,
this time with Luca Blight. The battle starts with each of you needing 5 VP,
but Luca gives you 4 of his VP, so that it is now a matter of 9 VP on your side
and 1 on his.

5. Battle 7- Luca Blight

Your VP- 9; Opponent's VP- 1

Luca's Deck:
015. Culgan
019. Solon Jhee
031. Luca (x2)
047. Jillia (x3)
069. Yuber
071. Rowd (x2)
073. Lucia (x2)
143. Rikimaru
167. Mercenary Fort Battle (x2)
174. Personal Combat

I don't think it's possible to win this battle. If anyone is able to, let me
know, and let me know what the rewards for it are.

Anywho, after you lose, Nanami yells at Luca, who attacks her. You're given a
couple of things to say. Eventually, Viktor comes and saves you, and you escape
the burning fort, and it and Ryube are removed from your options of places to
go.

F. Destruction of Toto

When you choose to go to Toto, you can either go into it, or continue to Muse.
Note that if you skipped all the past battles, you automatically enter Toto.
If you enter it, you see a ruined village, and your only option is to leave, so
just continue on to Muse.

Nanami will ask you a question, and then Chapter 3 starts.

~~~~~~~~~
CHAPTER 3
~~~~~~~~~

The first thing you see in Chapter 3 is the menu for Muse:
Option 1: Inn (same as previous inns.)
Option 2: Card Shop
    Tuta - 200
    Alex - 160
    Hilda - 560
    Anita - 1440 (Rare Find)
    152 Highland Reconnaissance - 320
    158 Escape from Muse - 480
    159 Secret Treasure of the Cindar - 320 (Rare Find)
    172 Capture of Muse - 1080
Option 3: ??
    I'm not sure what this guy does, but he seems to help you build decks.
Option 4: Card Lists
    You can check out some various info here.
    Sub-Option 1: Card File
         This option lets you look at the full list of the cards in the game.
         If you don't have a card, it will appear as a blank spot. If you have
         had a card, but traded or sold it, it will still appear on the list.
         Press "START" to enter into the description of the cards.
    Sub-Option 2: Card List
         Lists how many of each card you have
    Sub-Option 3: Talk
    Sub-Option 4: Leave
Option 5: Leave
Buy some cards if you want, but there's really not a lot to do here. So just
leave Muse, and you'll be given access to Greenhill, the Forest Village, and
Coronet.

A. Exploring the City-States

In Coronet, you have two options:
Option 1: Inn
Option 2: Leave
Not much to do, so go back to Muse (but don't enter), and then to Greenhill.

Greenhill has 4 menu items:
Option 1: Inn
Option 2: Deck Helper (or whatever Option 3 from Muse is)
Option 3: Card Lists
Option 4: Leave
Not much to do in Greenhill right now, either, so we might as well continue on
to the Forest Village.

The Forest Village has 5 menu items:
Option 1: Inn (the Inn is usually the first option. From here on out, we'll
assume that the Inn is the first option, unless otherwise noted.)
Option 2: Card Shop
    Tony- 160
    Richmond- 360
    Ayda- 480
    Feather- 360
    Connell- 1440 (Rare Find)
Option 3: Card Lists
Option 4: Trade Shop
    Sub-Option 1: Battles (2 levels)
    Sub-Option 2: Trades
         Rikimaru (143) for Feather (130)
         Leona (075) for Errand (151)
         Personal Combat 2 (175) for Killey (109)
         Tsai (052) for Tetsu (084)
         Templeton (087) for Ayda (102)
              Reward for 5 trades: Silver Mukumuku (204)
Other than trading, there's not much to do in Forest Village, either. So let's
go back to Muse and continue the story.

B. Back to Muse

When you enter Muse, Nanami will talk to you, before you're given the menu
again. This time, however, the menu is slightly different:
Option 1: Inn
Option 2: Card Shop
Option 3: Deck Helper (it's the same thing it was before)
Option 4: Card Lists
Option 5: Tavern
    This is where you go to continue the story.
Option 6: Leave
NOTE: You must at least enter another town and then return to Muse to trigger
the scene with Nanami and the new option. Otherwise it won't show up.
Mess around if you want, but go to the Tavern to continue the story.

Nanami comments that you have found "Viktor-san and Flik-san," and they welcome
you to Muse. Nanami asks you something, and you're given two options (sorry, I
hit the button too fast to see what the 2nd one was but the first is "un" which
is usually a confirmation). Flik then asks you something about Army Power (for
cards), and offers you a battle. Take it if you want, and Flik will teach you
how to use Army Battle cards. When the battle starts, you can choose either to
accept the battle or not.

1. Battle 8- Army Battle Instruction

((Note that you don't get your own deck for this battle. I'll list both decks))

Your Deck:

170. Capture of Matilda

Rewards:
Bolgan (065), Hanna (126)
150 Potch

Viktor tells you something after you win, and then you're given two options.
One is to go talk to Viktor, and the other is to leave the tavern. Viktor takes
you out of the tavern, and you run into someone. Viktor and the other person
talk, and then you're taken inside of the City Hall building, where you meet
Annabelle. Annabelle is talking to someone, but quickly notices Viktor, you,
and Nanami. Annabelle comments on something about a bandanna (I can barely read
this), and Viktor introduces you and "...." "Nanami!" "sou sou... Nanami" (this
is really what is said). Annabell tells you that she knows about Genkaku (if
you've played Suikoden II, you should recognize this scene). She tells you
something else, and you're given a couple of options. After that, you'll be
back outside, and Viktor tells you something, and you're back at the menu.

Go to the Tavern to continue the story. Nanami will talk before going in, then
you'll talk to Viktor, Flik, and a couple of others (non-characters). I really
have no clue what's being said, but I know that it has to do with going and
talking to Annabelle. Keep answering their questions and you'll eventually be
taken out onto a field, and it's battle time, versus Solon Jhee.

C. Destruction of Muse

Following the battle, you go back to the Tavern. Viktor talks to you again,
and then you're given two options (Talk to Viktor or leave). This'll be your
last chance to browse through Muse for a while, so take advantage if this if
you need it. Otherwise, talk to Viktor (go back to the Tavern if you decide to
leave), and continue the story. Viktor talks to you, then asks you a question.
Taking the first option will take you back to the menu, and the second option
will continue the story. Nanami speaks to you, and then you go back to the
menu. However, the Tavern option has changed, and will now take you to the City
Hall to go talk to Annabelle.

You and Nanami talk outside for a bit (she asks you a couple of things) before
going to see Annabelle, and then the screen fades to black. The next scene is
between Jowy and Annabelle, and then switches back to you and Nanami (Nanami's
mentioning something about Jowy). When you finally get on your way, some people
shout at you, and you and Nanami race to the City Hall. Unfortunately, by the
time you get there, Annabelle's already dying, and can't tell you much. Someone
finds the three of you, and, after some parting dialogue, Annabelle dies, and
you and Nanami leave to find Muse on fire. Flik and Viktor find you, and Viktor
gives you two options (sorry, I skipped through too fast... I picked the first
one). Nanami calls out your name, and then you're taken into battle.

After the three battles, you finally get outside. Nanami mentions something,
and then Toto, Muse, Greenhill, and Forest Village are removed from your map.
You have to go to Coronet, and when you enter, you're given three menu options:
Option 1: Inn
Option 2: Go to Kuskus (by boat)
Option 3: Leave (although there's nowhere to go)

Choosing option 2 will sail you across to Kuskus, and the start of Chapter 4

~~~~~~~~~
CHAPTER 4
~~~~~~~~~

Chapter 4 starts with you and Nanami in Kuskus. Nanami mentions South Window (I
believe that that's where Viktor and Flik told you to go), and then you're
given the Kuskus menu:
Option 1: Inn
Option 2: Trading Shop
    Boris (064) for Jeane (117)
    ((4 unknown; prize unknown))
Option 3: Leave
When you leave Kuskus, Coronet is removed from your map, and the only other
place for you to go is South Window.

A. South Window

When you enter South Window, you're immediately met by Viktor, and given two
options. If you remember this scene from Suikoden II, you'll remember that
Eilie asks you who this is, and you have the option of telling her "That's
Viktor" or "That's Bear." Well, your two options here are "Kuma-san!" (Bear)
or "Viktor-san!" Picking "Bear" will get a funny response from Viktor, who
then begins laughing. He tells you about what happened in Muse, and then you're
given two new options. The first one is asking about Flik, and I'm not sure
what the second one is. Either way, you get more dialogue from Viktor, and then
the South Window menu comes up.
Option 1: Inn
Option 2: Card Shop
    Granmaiyer - 960
    Killey - 840
    Freed Y - 1120
    Alex - 200
    Hilda - 560
    Adlai - 480
    Gantetsu - 560
    Personal Combat 2 (175) - 480 (Rare Find)
Option 3: Deck Helper ((I'll try to find out what this one is, really!!))
Option 4: Card Lists
Option 5: Tavern
Option 6: Leave
Buy things if you'd like, but to continue the story, go to the Tavern.

Flik and Viktor are waiting for you in the Tavern, along with Apple. You're
given two options after you and Nanami are introduced to Apple. I'm not sure
what either do, so I'm just picking the first one. Apple and Viktor speak
again, then the screne fades.

When the screen comes back, Viktor is speaking again, and mentions North
Window. Nanami says something, and then Viktor speaks again, followed by Apple.
Apple then gives you two options. The first has to do with Radat, and the other
I'm not sure what is. It doesn't matter which one you pick, because they will
get you the same place: more dialogue from Apple and Nanami, and two more
options. Both are very similar, and start with the same kanji. After that, the
first says kimasu and the second says kima-san. Not sure what either mean, so
pick one. Picking either has Flik, Nanami, Apple, and Viktor speak, and
eventually brings you to the options of talking to Apple or going back to the
main menu.

When you're ready, talk to Apple, who will make Radat available for you.

B. Recruiting Shu

Once you enter Radat, Apple makes a comment, and then you get the Radat menu:
Option 1: Inn
Option 2: Trade Shop
    Pohl (063) for Richmond (144)
    Hauser (022) for Apple (034)
    ((3 unknown, prize unknown))
Option 3: Tavern
Option 4: Leave

Go to the Tavern to continue the story. Nanami and Apple will talk to some
people, and then you'll be back at the menu, although the Tavern has been
replaced by Shu's house. Go there, and Apple will speak for a moment before you
go inside. Apple and Shu will have a conversation, and then you given two
options (not sure what they are). Shu and Apple talk again (with comments from
Nanami), and then you are asked to battle Shu (accept or wait are your two
options). You have to defeat Shu to continue the game, so go ahead and accept.

1. Battle 13- Shu

Your VP- 5; Opponent's VP- 3

Watch out, 'cuz Shu uses McDohl (001), but I can't quite figure out what he
does. Also, Shu's strategy seems to be to deck you, so watch your card usage.

After the battle, Apple and Shu speak again, and then you leave the house.
Apple and Nanami talk when you're outside, and then the screen fades to black.

C. Highland Scene

After the screen fades to black, you see a black screen with two people
talking. The screen fades up, and you see the Highland Castle, and you find
that one of them was Jowy. Inside the castle, you see Seed and Culgan speaking
with Jowy, and then Jillia comes up. The screen again changes, this time to the
room with the Beast Rune, and Jillia and Jowy speak.

D. Getting your Castle

After the Highland scene, you are back on the World Map. Head to South Window,
and you'll trigger a scene on the plain. Flik meets you, and explains that
South Window has fallen (along with Radat and Kuskus), and that everyone is
meeting back at the old North Window castle.

Once inside, Viktor meets you, and as he and Apple are talking, Shu arrives.
Shu and Viktor talk for a while, along with Flik, about the fall of South
Window, and eventually you are given an option (it has to do with leading
troops), and Shu assigns you 300 troops (I think). You're then taken to the
first castle menu, which has only 3 options:
Option 1: Inn
Option 2: Great Hall
Option 3: Leave

Go to the Great Hall, and Shu will meet you. You have the option of agreeing or
waiting. Selecting agree will continue the story. A soldier will come in, and
Shu asks Flik and Viktor if they're ready. They confirm, and the screen fades
to black.

Out on the plains, it's time to battle Solon Jhee again (after some dialogue).

And then someone comes to see you. Apple and Viktor talk to them, and then Shu
Asks you something. Answer him, and then Nanami, and then you can get to your
menu:
Option 1: Inn
Option 2: Great Hall
Option 3: Leave

Since you have nowhere to go on your map, go to the Great Hall and talk with
everyone. Shu, Apple, Viktor, and Flik will talk for a while, until you are
presented with two options. You're presented with a couple more options after
that, but I'm not sure exactly what's being said. I believe that this is where
you are being offered leadership of the Allied Army. Viktor mentions Annabelle,
and then you are given another menu, in which the Great Hall has been replaced
with a new option, which is to go talk to Viktor. Viktor the tells you and
Nanami what Annabelle was going to: The history about Genkaku (he asks you
a few things, too, but I'm not sure what they're about). After a while, Nanami
falls asleep, and Viktor ends his story. There's a quick scene between you and
Nanami in your room, and you're back at the menu, and the Great Hall is back.

Shu asks you if you've decided, and you're given an option (I believe that the
first option is to accept). Flik, Shu, and Apple comment, and then some people
come in. Viktor laughs, and then the screen flashes white, and Leknaat appears.
Leknaat talks for a bit, then leaves. Nanami doesn't understand what happened,
but Flik tells you about her (unfortunately, there's no cute scene with Luc...)

The screen fades to black and you're taken to your room, and Nanami talks to
you about you becoming the Leader, and then decides to teach you about Facility
Cards. Select the first option to go into the battle.

Option 4: Card Files

Option 6: Leave

You still can't go anywhere, so buy cards if you want, otherwise, go back to
the great hall. Viktor will ask you to name the castle. After naming the
castle, Nanami, Flik, Shu, and Apple will speak with you. They tell you about
different areas that the Highlands are attacking (Two River, South Window, etc)
and ask you where you want to go. You are given three options: Two Rivers,
South Window, and to return to the menu. If you go back to the menu, returning
to the Great Hall will take you directly back to the options again. Choosing
either will get you more dialogue, and take you to the beginning of Chapter 5.

CHAPTER 5
~~~~~~~~~
At the beginning of Chapter 5, you see a scene in whichever city you decided to
go to. For now, we'll assume you went to South Window. Solon Jhee is there, and
is talking with some of his soldiers, and then you're taken back out onto the
fields. Viktor and Flik comment, and then Solon Jhee is ready to battle.
You have nothing to do in either of these places, so go back to your castle and
see what Shu has to say.
D. Greenhill and Neclord
Shu and Apple will congratulate you on freeing Two Rivers and South Window, and
then Nanami makes a comment to which Viktor starts laughing (he does this a
lot... it's one of the few things I can read). However, Shu, Apple, Flik, and
Viktor change to a more serious topic: how to liberate Greenhill. Shu also
mentions Neclord, and then, as Flik is responding, there are flashes of light,
and Flik trails off. Nanami screams and yells for Flik, and Viktor yells for
him also. Then Sierra shows up and starts talking ((I don't know what she
did... I'm trying to translate this, 'cuz it seems very funny)). Sierra pretty
much tells you that she will help you take out Neclord. Flik also starts to
wake up ((I think she may have knocked him out somehow)), and Nanami fills him
in on what's going on ((I've got to translate this scene)). There's another
flash of light, which makes Nanami scream again, and Viktor yell for
Flik ((I am so confused)). Sierra and Apple speak again, and then Teresa speaks
up ((yes, this is BEFORE you ever go to Greenhill...)). After they're all done
talking, you get an option screen. You can go talk to Sierra (first option), go
talk to Teresa (second option), or go back to the menu.
Sierra- Sierra is waiting for you in the tavern, and you, Nanami, and Viktor
speak with her. After speaking with her, you're taken back to the option
screen, to either speak with Teresa or go to the menu.
Teresa- Teresa is in your bedroom ((you see, there's only one room in the
entire castle. Which, BTW, is the level 4 castle from the start)). She asks you
if you will help her liberate Greenhill. The first option takes you back to the
menu, the second option continues the conversation (if you leave, just go back
to the Great Hall to go back to her). You continue talking (there's a few more
options, but I'm not sure the difference in each one), and then you're taken
to the main hall, with two options. Choosing the first lets you go back to the
menu, but with no Great Hall. Simply enter an option and leave again to get
back to the options, choosing the second will take you back to your room, then
the menu, where you can go into the Great Hall and choose to go to either
Greenhill or Tinto, and then the start of Chapter 6
~~~~~~~~~
CHAPTER 6
~~~~~~~~~
The title of Chapter 6 changes depending on if you chose Greenhill or Tinto.
For this walkthrough, I chose Tinto ('cuz I like the Neclord battle). You start
the chapter at your main castle menu (but no Great Hall), and leaving will add
Tinto to your map.
A. Defeating Neclord and Freeing Tinto
There is a very important thing to note right here: when you enter Tinto, you
are actually in the Tinto Mines. This is the ONLY time you ever get to go here
in the entire game. To get to the battle with Neclord, you go through the door.
However, do not do this until you have gotten all of the chests. There are five
cards in those chests, and at least two of them cannot be found anywhere else
in the game, so you'd have to wait for the next time around in the "New Game +"
to get them.
After you exit the caves (go through the door), you're in Tinto, and you enter
Neclord's Castle, and begin the battle.
1. Battle 23- Neclord
126. Hanna
137. Millie x2
151. Errand
186. Blacksmith
Rewards:
Lilly (072)*, Lo Wen (077)*, Oulan (104), Jeane (117), Neclord (124)*
4000 Potch
13 ??? Deck ((not sure what this is... it may be a custom deck))
I don't know if it's possible to win that battle or not, but if you have Sierra
in your deck, Sierra automatically changes the VP to 4 VP for you and 5 VP for
Neclord. If you have the Star Dragon Sword in your deck, Viktor automatically
Changes the VP to 3 VP for you and 5 VP for Neclord.
After the battle, Sierra and Viktor seal him away, and Tinto is freed, so you
go back out onto the plains, where Shu and Apple are waiting for you. Everyone
congratulates you, and then you go back to Tinto. Sierra says something, which
creeps Flik out ((I think it has to do with what happened earlier)). Then
you're taken back to the map, where you can go back into Tinto and get the
menu:
Option 1- Inn
Option 2- Card Shop
    Jess - 1920
    Tenkou - 520
    Lo Wen - 1080
    Koyu - 640
    Marlowe - 360
    Long Chan Chan - 840
    Alberto - 440
    Gustav - 960 (Rare Find)
    Gijimu - 1280 (Rare Find)
Option 3- Deck Helper (Nope, still don't know)
Option 4- Card File
Option 5- Tinto Mines (Dungeon)
    This is NOT the same area you went through to get to Neclord, so if you
         Didn't get the cards, you can't get them here. But you can get some
         practice in down here.
Option 6- Leave
B. DUNGEON MINI-GUIDE
Since this is the first real dungeon you've been in (not counting the cave
where you got your rune, and getting into Tinto), there are a few things you
need to be aware of.
    1. Allies- Allies give you cards. This is very good, since often they're
         rare cards that can't be gotten elsewhere.
    2. Lorelai (2)- Lorelai is a card shop. She often has rare cards.
    3. Ghosts- Ghosts fight you. Sometimes they're hard, sometimes they're
         not. Either way, they usually give you standard cards for that area.
    4. Highland Characters- Highland Characters usually fight you, and you get
         their card if you can beat them.
    5. Rowd- Sometimes Rowd will fight you (see above), other times he'll just
         give you a card. Very useful.
    6. Random Battles- yes, there are random battles. They're usually not
         hard, if you have a decent deck.
    7. Chests- Some chests have cards, some have potch, and some have
         monsters for you to fight.
    8. Stairs- Multi-level Dungeons have stairs that go down to the next
         level. The lower levels are usually a little harder. Note that there
         is no way to get back UPstairs.
    9. Exiting- To exit a dungeon, no matter where in it you are, hit "Select"
         and then the first option.
    10. Re-Entering- Everything changes when you re-enter; characters, ghosts,
         stairs, layout... EVERYTHING.
When you're done in Tinto, head back to your castle and go to the Great Hall,
where Shu will be waiting for you, which will start Chapter 7.
~~~~~~~~~
CHAPTER 7
~~~~~~~~~
Guess what? Whichever chapter you didn't get for chapter 6 you will have for
Chapter 7. Convenient, isn't it? So, this section is for the Greenhill chapter.
A. HIGHLAND SCENE
After an option, you get a black screen with a couple of unknown people
talking about your army. The screen fades up, and you see that you're at the
Highland camp. Jowy is talking to Luca Blight and someone else (I didn't
recognize the name). The scene ends with Jowy saying your name, followed by
"......"
B. ASSASSINATION ATTEMPT
The scene switches to your bedroom, where an "unknown woman" (Lucia) confronts
you (she names you as the leader of the army, so in my case "Ojamajo Army
Leader, Dessa"). You get two options. One has "!!" after it, one just a ".". I
think that it's an option of yelling or not. All it effects is her response,
you have to battle her no matter what.
(two options, only change dialogue), Lucia escapes.
C. LIBERATING GREENHILL
The screen fades to black, and comes back on your room, with Apple talking to
you. The screen fades again, and you're in the main hall. Feel free to leave,
but there's nothing new, so just go to the Great Hall.
Nanami will say something, and then Shu starts talking to you (or at, as the
case may be). He gives you an option, the first being "let's go," and the
second, "wait." Choose the first to continue the story. Flik, Viktor, Apple,
and Teresa will give you their support, and then the scene changes to inside
Greenhill Academy, where a soldier warns Jowy, Seed, and Culgan of your army's
approach, and then the scene goes outside to the plains.
Viktor speaks to you, and acknowledges Culgan. Shu says something also,
followed by Culgan, and you enter the battle.
confronted by Lucia again.
After you beat Lucia, Teresa and her have a conversation, and then Viktor and
Flik ask you something, and Teresa says something. The scene then changes.
D. LIBERATING GREENHILL part 2
Jowy is talking with some of his soldiers, who are telling him something about
Teresa, and then the scene changes again.
The scene comes up on a burning city. Viktor, Flik, and Nanami comment (Nanami
seems worried about you, but I'm not sure exactly why), and then you run into
Jowy. Nanami is surprised to see him, and then Jowy asks you a question. You
Can choose to either answer him or remain silent. Jowy tells you "Sayonara" (if
you keep it quiet, that is. I didn't try the other option). Nanami yells after
him, and then Viktor says something. Nanami says something that has to do with
Jowy and Luca Blight, and then you get another choice (it's "say something" or
stay quiet again). Nanami says something else, and then the scene fades.
Inside the hall at Greenhill, Flik, Apple, Teresa, and Viktor have a
conversation, and then you go back outside. Some people cheer the return of
Teresa, and she talks to them. Viktor then tells you and Nanami some stuff, and
you go back inside, where Apple and Shu talk, and then you get Greenhill and
Forest Village back on your map.
E. RE-EXPLORING GREENHILL AND FOREST VILLAGE
In the Forest Village, you can check out the Card Shop, where there's some new
cards.
Card Shop:
    Farm (176) - 100
    Appraisal Shop (179) - 75
    Charm Shop (190) - 125
    Wakaba- 1080 (Rare Find)
Otherwise, the options are the same as they were before. So go back home and
go to the Great Hall. Shu speaks with you, and you get two options. The first
option continues the story, the second takes you back to the main hall. If you
continue, Shu tells you some things, and Viktor makes a comment, and then
chapter 8 starts.
~~~~~~~~~
CHAPTER 8
~~~~~~~~~
A. BACK TO KUSKUS
Chapter 8 starts you out in the main hall of your castle again. If you leave,
you'll see that Kuskus has been put back on your menu. Entering Kuskus triggers
a scene with Viktor, and a choice. If you choose the second option, Viktor says
something, then a soldier comes, and you leave Kuskus (and it becomes
unavailable). If you choose the first option, Viktor says something, and then
you see a scene between Klaus and Kiba. Then Viktor says something else, and
Klaus comes and speaks to you. Then Viktor gives you two more options. Again,
the second option prompts a comment from Viktor, and you leave Kuskus. The
first option gets another comment from Klaus, and another choice ("...Jowy?" or
"..."). Either way, Klaus tells you things (more if you choose the first
option), and you get taken out to the field, where Viktor says something. Then
you loose access to Kuskus. With nothing else to do (story-wise), head back to
the castle. You'll be taken right to the Great Hall, where Shu is waiting for
you.
B. BATTLE FOR KUSKUS
Shu, Apple, Viktor, and Flik talk to you, and then you're given an option. The
second option is a "wait" option, and the first continues the story. Outside
of a town, Kiba and Klaus confront you with Rowd. Out on the battlefield, Flik
and Viktor make comments, and then Rowd attacks you.
1. Battle 28- Rowd's Army
Rowd makes a comment after you beat him, and then you speak with Klaus and Kiba
again at the gates. Back on the field, Viktor, Flik, Shu, and Apple speak with
you, and you're given two options. If you chose the first, Sierra talks to you,
and if you choose the second, Teresa talks to you. Either way, you get another
Highland scene.
C. HIGHLAND SCENE
Agares and Jillia are talking, and then you're taken inside the castle. Inside,
Agares and Jillia are joined by Luca and Jowy (as well as some other people).
I think that this is where Agares is killed.
D. LIBERATING KUSKUS
Shu meets you in the field, and you get an option. The second option takes you
Back to the map, and Kuskus is again available. The first option takes you back
to Klaus and Kiba, and initiates a battle with Klaus.
After the battle, both Kiba and Klaus speak, and Apple responds to them. Shu
asks you something, which I think has to do with letting them join you or not.
Picking the either option will get you dialogue, and another option. You'll have
to answer the second option twice, but if you pick the second one, they keep
asking you over and over again until you pick the first one. Some soldiers come
up and tell you something about Luca Blight, and after more dialogue, you get
Kuskus and Coronet back. All Kuskus has is the Inn and the Trading Post, and
all Coronet has is the Inn, so you might as well go back to your castle.
E. PREPARATION TO GO TO ROCKLAND
In the Main Hall, Shu, Flik, and Viktor talk about Luca Blight, and then you're
given an option of saying "un...." or just "......". Then they'll talk about
Rockland, and Chapter 9 starts.
~~~~~~~~~
CHAPTER 9
~~~~~~~~~
A. THROUGH THE FOREST PATH
Chapter 9 starts out with the Forest Path appearing on your map, and you on
the main map. Guess where you have to go? When you enter the area, Nanami
says something to you, and you get options. "Doudarou?" and "Soudarou ne." are
the two options, but I don't know what they mean. Picking the first one will
get a "Nani? Nani? Nani?" followed by some other dialogue, and end up with you
in the Path. Picking the second one will get you a more positive response, and
then dump you in the path. When you get through, Flik and Viktor are waiting
for you along with Miklotov, who wants to know if you're the leader of the army
or not. The two options are "Riou desu." ("I'm Riou.") and "......." He talks
some more, then Nanami says something and he gets confused. And now Rockland is
on your map.
B. ENTERING ROCKLAND
As with any occupied and/or non-friendly city, you don't get direct access to
their menu. Instead you're greeted by Miklotov, who takes you to go see Gorudo.
Gorudo asks you something, to which you can remain silent or say "nani wo..."
If you pick the latter, Nanami will yell at you and tell you to stop it. Gorudo
doesn't seem to mind, though, and asks you another question. This time your
options are "yuru se nai...!" or remaining silent. Again, apparently remaining
silent is in your best interest, because Nanami yells at you again. Gorudo tells
you and Camus to do something, and Camus responds, but then he's confused.
Miklotov yells something to Gorudo, and Gorudo replies. Miklotov says something
to Camus, and he replies, then Gorudo asks them something. Gorudo and Miklotov
get in a little bit of an argument, and then I think he throws the lot of you
out. Either way, you're back outside with Viktor and Flik. They speak, as does
Nanami, and then you finally get the Rockland Town Menu.
Leaving the town will initiate a new scene. Camus and Miklotov argue a bit, and
then you get options. Either option will add Muse to your map, and drop you on
the map.
C. INVESTIGATING MUSE
So you think you're going to Muse, right? Nope, you get another field. Nanami,
Miklotov, and Viktor talk to you, and Nanami asks you if it's okay. Option one
takes you to the gates of Muse, and while Miklotov is talking to you, the
screen shakes. Option two just repeats the options until you answer with the
first one. In the City Hall, Luca Blight and Jowy are there discussing
something, and then the group of you enter the city. Soldiers come and attack
you, and you're forced to fight.
Miklotov (who really likes yelling), Flik, Viktor, and some soldiers say some
stuff, and then you're thrown out of the city (if you go back in, they throw
you out again). Go back to Rockaxe to tell Gorudo what happened.
D. BACK IN ROCKAXE
Camus and Miklotov argue in the city, and then you're back with Gorudo. Gorudo
and Miklotov argue (we have a lot of arguing in this chapter), and Camus says
a few things. The argument culminates with Camus and Miklotov (and all their
soldiers) defecting to your army. Back outside in the city, Miklotov and Camus
are still talking, and then you lose Muse and Rockaxe on your map. So head back
through the Forest Path. You'll get a scene at the end of the Forest Path when
Shu shows up, and he talks with Camus and Miklotov. Then you're back on the
map. Head back to your castle, and go talk to Shu.
E. INVADING ROCKAXE
Camus, Klaus, Kiba, and Teresa are all in there with Shu, and they talk with
you and Nanami. Eventually, you get an option. The second option is to wait,
and the first is something about Matilda, and triggers a scene where someone
informs Gorudo that your army is going to invade. Out in the field, Teresa,
Shu, Camus, and Miklotov are with you when you confront Gorudo's army.
Gorudo says something at the City when you beat him, and then Klaus, Shu, and
Kiba talk to you back out on the field. Nanami says something, and Viktor
replies, but Nanami doesn't like his response much. She asks you a question
and you get two options. The either answer gets Nanami, Flik, Teresa, and
Viktor to yell at you, and you're taken back to the Rockaxe gates, where you
have to fight the Matilda army.
Gorudo yells after you beat him, and then you're back outside. Teresa asks you
if you're alright, then says something else, and Apple replies to her. Klaus
says something after that, and then your soldiers come up yelling for you. Shu
says something about what they told you, and then the soldiers (I think) start
cheering for you. Then Sierra shows up and says something, followed by Kiba. I
think this may be everyone affirming you as the leader, since there's only one
more chapter to go, and you're asked a question after this. One option is
"tadaima!" and the other is "minna," followed by some kanji and a question
mark. I just picked "tadaima!" and then Klaus said something, followed by a
fade, which brought me back to the map, with Rockaxe now back on my map.
F. BACK TO BASE
If you enter the Forest Path again, you'll get a little text box which I
believe instructs you on how to use the field, which is pretty much the same
as a one-level dungeon. You're asked a yes/no question, afterward, which I
think is if you understand. Basically, hit select to leave.
If you don't want to play around in the forest (or are done), head back to
base. Teresa and Shu are waiting to talk to you, as well as Viktor, and they
ask you another question (stupid kanji in the response). But I thin, it's about
if you're ready to fight Highland directly yet. Select the top one to continue.
Shu says a few more things, then asks you another question. The first option
takes you to a Highland scene. The second one is "......", which makes Shu give
you a lecture, then takes you back to the main menu. The third one is "iyata",
which takes you back to the menu.
G. HIGHLAND SCENE
At the castle, Jillia and Jowy are talking about your army, and then it seems
that Jillia's getting upset by what Jowy is telling her, so I think this is
where he sends her and Pilika away, right before the final battle. When the
screen fades to black, it takes you back to your castle menu.
H. PREPARATION FOR THE FINAL BATTLE
Back at your castle, if you go to the Main Hall, you have new menus, which work
pretty strangely:
Menu 1-
Option 1: Talk to Viktor
Option 2: Talk to Flik
Option 3: Talk to Nanami
Option 4: Talk to others (go to Menu 2)
Option 5: Leave
Menu 2-
Option 1: Talk to Apple
Option 2: Talk to Teresa
Option 3: Talk to Sierra
Option 4: Talk to others (go to Menu 3)
Option 5: Leave
Menu 3-
Option 1: Talk to Kiba
Option 2: Talk to Klaus
Option 3: Talk to Miklotov
Option 4: Talk to Camus
Option 5: Talk to others (go to Menu 1)
Option 6: Leave
After you talk to anyone, you automatically go back to the menu you left.
Leaving the castle takes you out to the field, where the soldiers are cheering
for you, and Shu asks you if you're ready. Then Viktor, Flik, Camus, Miklotov,
and Kiba cheer, and you get 1 big option, which is to go onto L'Rennoille. Thus
ends chapter 9.
CHAPTER 10
~~~~~~~~~~

A. THE FINAL BATTLES

Once you start the chapter, you'll get access to Muse again, as well as
L'Rennoille. You can wander around shops and such, but to continue the story,
go to L'Rennoille.

Entering L'Rennoille takes you to the front of the Palace, where Luca Blight is
talking (really yelling) at random soldiers. I think he might've even killed
one (I swear, I will translate this game someday). He says some more stuff, and
then you're on the field, where Klaus and Kiba tell you that Seed is attacking.

After Culgan's defeated, Viktor talks, and you're taken to the front of the
palace again. Luca is there with some soldiers, and Viktor and Flik start
yelling at him. A light flashes, and Viktor's like "huh?", and you're back out
on the field.

A random soldier from your army yells for Viktor and Flik and tells them
something about Luca Blight (I CAN read names), and then Kiba and Klaus talk
with Shu, and the soldier talks again. Then Shu gives you an option (oh how we
love when we have no clue what we're saying...). Either option takes you to
dialogue from Luca Blight, followed by another option set. Again, either set
gets you more dialogue, followed by another option set. And either option here
takes you into a battle.

second option allows you to leave, and adds Sajah Village to your map.

B. THE FINAL PUSH

Returning to L'Rennoille gets Shu to ask you again if you're ready, then Apple
tells you "good luck." Nanami and Viktor also talk (Viktor's pretty excited),
then you're taken inside. Still outside, Apple and Shu talk, and then the
action switches to Jillia. Jillia is calling for Jowy, and then the two of
them talk, and then Jowy has a soldier take her away. Inside, Flik and Viktor
speak to you, and then you run into Lucia again, who challenges you.

After you beat her, Lucia is mad, but Teresa talks to her, and tells her that

is in Suiko 2). Lucia then addresses you, and you continue on.

Flik and Viktor speak for a moment, then you're confronted by Han Cunningham.
Viktor and Flik are surprised to see him. You're given two options (one is
yelling, one is silence). It changes what Han says, but either way, you go
into battle.

After you beat him, Han asks you your name. You can either tell him your name,

You get another choice, one is questioning what he just said, the other is
silence. Again, dialogue isn't much different depending on your choice, but Han
is dying (Flik and Viktor tell him something), and then you have to continue on.

Culgan and Seed confront you next, and you get yet another option! One you talk
to them, one you yell at them. Yelling at them simply makes Seed repeat his
lines, and gives you the option again. If you yell again, Culgan comments that
you're the leader of your army, and if you use the yelling one yet again, they
give up and fight you (they say the same things and fight you if you pick the
first one at any time).

As soon as the battles are over, you get an option, of speaking or remaining
silent. There doesn't seem to be a difference in Seed and Culgan's dialogue,
nor Flik and Viktor's dialogue after theirs. After a moment's pause, Seed and
Culgan speak with each other, and the scene fades.

Flik and Viktor speak with you (about Luca), and then you're at the top of the
castle, right at Luca Blight. Flik, Viktor, and Luca Blight talk, and then
there's a bright light (Beast Rune, I think). The three speak again, and then
you get a set of options. And I actually know what the options are!! The first
is "Minna, Ikou!" (Everyone, Go!) and the second is "Ikuzo, Luca Blight!"
(Let's go, Luca Blight!). Either one takes you right into battle.

After you beat him, Luca says a few lines, then you get an option, of either
saying "....Luca..." or nothing. Luca yells at you, and then Flik and Viktor
say things. Then the palace begins to shake. Viktor tells you that you have to
get out, and you have the option of agreeing and going with them, or telling
them that you have to find Jowy. I chose to say that I had to find Jowy, and
Viktor said something, then it faded to black.

Outside, Apple, Klaus, Nanami, Teresa, and Kiba (no one dies in this game)
speak, then Sierra says something, and then Apple calls out for you. Teresa
says Viktor and Flik's names, and then Nanami yells your name (I think that
they think we died in the castle). Kiba and Shu then say things, and the screen
fades to black.

Back at headquarters, someone from Two Rivers is talking about South Window,
and says something about you, and then someone from Tinto talks back, and then
Teresa talks (gotta love my katakana skills, and lack thereof of anything else).
Teresa says something, and you have the option of asking a question or staying
silent. I think this may be where they want you to be president. Either answer,
Teresa, the two soldiers, Miklotov, and Camus speak, and you get 3 options. One
is I think to accept, the second is silence, and the third is "That, I cannot."
(really, that's an exact translation! Not bad grammar!). If you pick the first
one, Shu talks, and then the credits start. If you pick the second one, Apple,
Kiba, and Teresa talk, and you're given the options again. If you pick the third
one, Apple talks, and you're taken back to the main entrance to the castle.

Flik meets you at the entrance, and asks you where you're going. Your two
options are to tell him, or silence. Either way, he and Viktor speak, and then
Nanami speaks (I think she's saying that you're going back to where the three
of you were together, and isn't it good?). You get two options. One is to go,
I think the other is to go back. Regardless of the second one, choosing it
simply has Nanami asking you something, and the options back. Repeatedly
choosing the second one simply has Nanami cycling through various responses,
and the options back. Replying "Ikou" (Go), gets the reply "...un! Ikou!" back
from Nanami. The scene fades, and the map adds Kyaro back onto your available
locations, and drops you outside.

C. BACK TO THE BEGINNING

Entering Kyaro puts you in another sprite area, which you cannot leave. There
aren't any enemies, so exit the screen to the North, then walk over to Jowy.
Speaking to him fades the screen to black, displaying the image for the area.
Nanami says "Jowy," and then Jowy greets you. I think he then challenges you,
because Nanami seems to be questioning what he says. You're given an option.
Either one takes you into battle.

Unfortunately, I've tried to get the "good" ending by not fighting against
Jowy... and it doesn't work. You do have to beat him.

After the battle, Nanami yells for Jowy, and he says something back. Nanami is
crying, telling him no (he's dying), and asks you to do something. Jowy says
something to you about Highland, and then you get an option. The first one is
something about Jowy being the King of Highland, and the second one is asking
why about something about Highland. Jowy says something slightly different
(Nanami replies with "...Jowy..."), and then says something about the Unicorn
Brigade. Nanami starts crying again, and then Jowy says something else and the
screen fades to white. Jowy says something to you and Nanami, and the screen
fades to black, then the credits roll.

D. ENDING / CREDITS

Like the regular games, the ending/credits of Card Stories has images from the
game under the credits, so I'll list those here.

a. The Shrine of the Runes
b. The cliff you escaped from
c. Flik and Viktor's Office
d. Muse City Hall
e. Shu's House
f. North Window/Castle Main Hall
g. L'Rennoille Palace (Exterior)
h. Beast Rune Hall
i. Promise Rock

The next section has a background of the Rune of Beginning, and I think it's
information about the game (maybe an Epilogue?). Mine says something about
"460", then something about Dunan, Highland, Jouston, Ojamajo (name of my
army). The next section again mentions my army, then me, then stuff I can't
read and my army again (I'm pretty sure it's the epilogue). The next section
mentions Jowy Blight and Kyaro, then Genkaku. The section after that says
something about Kyaro, then me, then Nanami, then more stuff I can't read.
The screen fades to black, and then the ending image of You, Jowy, and Nanami
playing as children is shown, and "End" shown in the corner.

Pressing "A" will bring you to a screen that says that you cleared the
scenario, and asks you if you want to save. Saving allows you to "continue"
with a new game, but you get to keep all the cards and money you ended with.
Yes, this means it's pretty much "New Game +"

And that's the end!
