Well, in America the kicking game is an important part of any NFL
game, so in essence, it does have something to do with feet. <g>

As for the dimensions, great trivia question! I found this but can't
confirm it due to Roger Goodell's & the NFL's strict and totally
absurd punishment on Tom Brady & "deflate-gate".

"Footballs The NFL, NCAA and high schools use footballs that are 11 to
11.25 inches long, 28 to 28.5 inches around lengthwise, 21 to 21.25
inches around widthwise They are inflated to 12.5 to 13.5 pounds."
