There's risks with anything.  For example, I've only used my GoPro knock off
camera once in the last 8 months, but I'm planning on taking it out for some
serious video shooting on Sunday.  But it only cost $40, so I'm not too fussed.

Spent more on drones, but I want to explore how I can use that technology.
First drone was a cheap "practice and learn to fly" drone that takes good video
in some circumstances, like when stationary, adjusting height only or
panoramas.  It's not so good when shooting while changing speed or direction,
because of the lack of stabilisation on the camera (no gimbal).  But, still,
it's good to practice with, and if I kill it, no biggie.

My best buys are sports related.  A good set of track spikes will get a LOT of
use, guaranteed.  They're more likely to be retired as "backups" and "training
spikes" than actually wear out, even after a couple of seasons.  But my needs
are evolving.  My newest pair, bought 2 months ago seem to be a huge step up,
and I may consider another upgrade to a more aggressive pair in a year's time -
One has to be careful, but I'm in such good condition, I can safely use the
more aggressive models.
