welcomes text mode clients. |

Why the name? Strange Days is the 1995 cult movie by Kathryn |

Bigelow. User rating at IMDB is 7.0, proving that people can show |
|
common sense sometimes. Strange Days is also the best album from |
|
the Doors. |

A quick audit of pygopherd, bucktooth, gofish and mgod suggests |
|
they should be secure, as they do little, can run in a chroot and |
|
don't launch anything by default. |

Just because PyGopherd is great does not mean it's perfect. Here |
|
are bugs I ought to submit patches for, now that I complained: |
|
- PyGopherd litters /var/gopher/ with cache files. I think that |
|
user content should be considered read-only by daemons, therefore |
|
cache files should go into e.g. /var/cache/pygopherd/var/gopher/ |
|
- PyGopherd has a hard-coded /tmp/mylog.log file. |
|
- PyGopherd requires a / in URL: selectors but Bucktooth does not |
|
and Bucktooth got to specify the gophermap format so CK wins over |
|
JG :) (of course the bug won't occur in the root gophermap) |
